What a delight this hotel is. Four of us stayed here one night as part of a cycle ride from Derby in the UK to Monte Carlo, so by the time we had got to Vidauban ‚?? day 8 of 9 - we knew our way round modestly priced French hotels. This was the best of the trip by a long chalk. It's small (12 rooms) but the lady who runs it (Patron?) couldn't be more helpful. What time is breakfast? What time would you like it? When is dinner served? When would you like it? The rooms are not huge (by UK standar... Read more

This is a lovely hotel, nice and clean and bright. In its own grounds, off the main road and about a mile from Vidauban town. The strange arrangement is that you are expected to be "out of the hotel between 11am and 4pm" and "back in the hotel by 11pm, else you are locked out!". This is a unique arrangement, unless you know otherwise! I managed to agree with them to let me "sleep in" between 11 and 4 rather than trek out in the midday sun! I felt that I was an inconvenience to them!! I was a pay... Read more

I travelled to Vidauban for the third time in two years and stayed at La Fontaine for the first time. While the hotel is very clean and the reception friendly, it has an incredible policy to have a curfew. At 23h the gates and doors of this hotel closes and you are not allowed to come in later or you'll have to sleep in your car. This is totally unacceptable! Also the breakfast was very poor (only choice was cheese or marmalade) and cost 10 euro! Never again at this hotel!

We booked online for 3 nights as it appeared to be a reasonably priced hotel within easy distance of the coast. We arrived on a very hot afternoon ‚?? almost 40 degrees - to find the front door locked at 3.15pm. We had noted on their website that check in was 4pm but assumed we would be at least able to access the lounge area if not our room a little earlier. We had to then drive back out to town to find an air-conditioned caf√© and wait until the hotel opened. On our return we were disma... Read more

Very nice hotel in a lovely part of France. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was perfectly clean with good ensuite. There was an issue with the showerhead the first morning, but once we told them they were apologetic and had it fixed by the time we got back to the hotel in the evening (a sign of good service). The restaurant was a rather unusual blend of German, Indian, and French, but worth eating there. Very pleasurable stay, with no complaints.
