Visited over a bank holiday evening and it was packed. Only one waiter to serve food and attend to all the drinks downstairs . He was rushed off his feet and consequently the service was so slow that we could not wait for desserts. Our meat was freshly cooked on a spit so overall the food was good but spoiled by slow service.

we stayed there for a long weekend. If you come by car, park at the parking garage Kléber, it's really close and the hotel has a special rate. The hotel is super central which is very convenient. Room was really nice and clean, staff very friendly. Price was totally ok.

Nice Hotel, perfectly located in the center of Strasbourg. It is not he newest and for the full prize I would expect more from the rooms especially regarding the beds, the TV and the bathroom. As we got 50% discount it was totally fine. Breakfast was good quality except of the coffee that was from a fully automatic machine. Can recommend it, if you get a discount.

We really loved the location of the hotel. It was in the middle of the nice old town of Strasbourg and very near to the highlights. The reception staff was very welcoming and polite. The furnitures and the outfit was a bit outdated but the room was really clean. We would prefer this hotel next time.

Like an outsized scarlet cake, this huge hotel stands right smack in the historic centre of Strasbourg. It is thus very convenient for first-time visitors (like us) who recently sojourned in this historic city that straddles the frontier of France and Germany. Its colour is a beacon that is a very convenient reference point when one walks around the centre and its various sights and shops. (Note: do not be turned off by its name that could, to the undiscerning visitor, conjure visions of cl... Read more

The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is a 5 - 10 minute walk away from all the tourist attractions. We stayed over a very hot August so having the luxury of going back to your room to cool down was amazing. The second best thing is the breakfast! Ham, cheese, fresh bread, and fruit - very continental and I still remember the Comté cheese! The third is the lovely decoration of the hallways and landing. Very nice warm friendly hotel. The rooms are perhaps slightly dated and maybe nee... Read more

I really enjoyed my stay at the Maison Rouge hotel. Although the rooms need a bit of updating, there is a homey feeling when staying at the Maison Rouge. What I loved the most at the hotel is their service. It was perfect! They were great! Also, you cannot ask for a more perfect location. I would definitely stay there again if I come back to Strasbourg and I highly recommend it.

We booked the Maison Rouge as a two night stop off on the way through France en-route to visit our son in Germany. We particularly wanted a city centre location as we had relatively long drives either side of Strasbourg and wanted to leave the car parked during our visit. Happily we got precisely that with a fantastic, central location so much so that you can only access the hotel (by car) by stopping at a remote controlled bollard, contacting the hotel by the adjacent intercom and announcing yo... Good business hotel. Room very nice and each floor has a seated meeting point. I thought it was quite expensive for what it was. No B & B - breakfast extra. It is central to the city. I can get by in basic French but expected staff to understand English. ( arrogant I know). Poor info on getting around by tram & Bus. I will look for something cheaper next time. No 24 hour room services. Hungry arrivals (after 10) have to go out. For lone female travellers this is unnerving. Needed an electrical ... Read more

Staying at Maison Rogue was very enjoyable. Quick, easy check-in; friendly, helpful staff and large, comfortable rooms with efficient air conditioning all made for a great three night stay. The decor is interesting with lots of sitting areas should you need this for a business meeting. The location of this hotel is fantastic. Walking distance to many cafes/restaurants, cathedral, shops, bus stops, etc. Just under 15 min walk from main train station. The rooms are very spacious. The style is all dark wood and red, which exudes an old-world charm, but I can imagine the decor is not for everyone. We liked it though and appreciated the space a lot.

We stayed in Maison Rouge for three nights. The hotel is very well situated in Strasbourg, within 5 minutes walk to the cathedral. The room was clean although our room did not have a view, many others do. We faced onto Galleries Lafayette. Rooms facing the front may be noisy as there is a tram that runs on the main street of the hotel. The staff were courteous, but I found the Tourist Information booth more helpful and knowledgable than the staff behind the desk at the hotel. The breakfast... Read more

This is in the Cathedral district of Strasbourg, FR. The rooms were clean, and comfortable. The bathrooms were also very clean. The only troublesome issue for us (not the fault of the hotel) was that we were traveling by car, and the hotel is not accessible by car, as the street in front of the hotel for electric street cars (trains). So, we parked about 600 to 800 meters away in a parking garage, and walked in with our suitcases. This was our only troublesome issue. All else is fine.

A short distance from the Central Station (3 tram stops, about 10 Euros by taxi), Maison Rouge is within easy walking distance of shopping, the Cathedral and the historic Petite France district. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable; but facing the main street, it could be a little noisy when the window was open (the trams start running at around 4 a.m.). I'd recommend packing some earplugs, just in case! Front desk staff were courteous and helpful, and all appeared to have at least a ba... Read more

We spent one night at the Maison Rouge on a short trip to Strasbourg. The hotel is centrally located right next to Place Kléber. We had two double rooms, one on the second and one on the sixth floor. The hotel is perfect for a city trip, everything is very closely located and you never walk more than 10 minutes to any sightseeing site. Arriving by car: do not type in the address of the hotel. At least our navi sent us right through the pedestrian area with one way streets. Parking is possible at the closely located parking garage Kleber. This is a very nice hotel situated in a convenient location to see the main sites. It is about halfway between the cathedral and Petite France. Our room was a decent size and had a large bathroom with a double sink and separate room for the toilet. The lobby is nice with some large comfortable chairs and couches. My only con is that the bar is tiny (just a small area in the lobby) and has very limited choices. Other than that I think this is a very nice hotel and I would return.

We found this hotel to be quite old, not the old that's charming. The furniture and decor were old/outdated. The bed was very uncomfortable, i could feel the springs on my side. WIFI was very painfully slow, and you had to Log in every single time! Overall, not much to write home about and definitely not 4 star standard IMHO. Not worth the price tag.

The hotel itself was very nice and in a good location. The room and bathroom were comfortable and clean. However, if having a reliable wifi internet connection is important to you, I would think twice about staying here. The hotel did not have its own network, but hooked up to a commercial network. We were constantly being bumped off, even in the middle of writing an email and many times could not even get on the network at all - very frustrating.

Perfect location near to everything in Central Strasbourg, but it is an older hotel with rooms that are a bit worn. It was very comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful.
