Very nice rooms with separate room for commode. Nespresso maker in room. Extremely kind and attentive staff. Watch out for room 101 which has proximity to very loud music from an unrelated bar. The hotel moved us promptly as they had rooms available and room 305 was quiet though smaller - but we were thrilled to move. We understand the hotel us trying to work this out to stop the noise but so far it still goes on. Breakfast service was indifferent - the food was acceptable but not what one woul... Read more

Wonderful old building, beautifully restored, with modern facilities within. Booked a large room to ensure we had a good sized room. King bed and large modern bathroom with separate shower. Staff very helpful (we needed a legal document printed out, signed and air-expressed to Australia - the staff at reception were able to handle this with ease). Lovely bar area inside, and equally lovely courtyard area outside. Great location in the town centre. A word of advice for drivers: enter "Place Mart... Read more

We returned to this hotel following an enjoyable stay last August, however upon our return this time found that the standard wasn't up to its five star billing. We chose a 'modern room' on this occasion as opposed to the 'traditional' room we had before, an immediate regret upon entering the room. Whilst it had all of the usual amenities, ie. Safe, mini bar, iron etc, it was small and lacked any character. Compared to the traditional room, it felt like a characterless Travelodge. The sink in th... Read more

This hotel rates an A+ on all counts -- the historic building, the modern rooms with historic accents, the sleek, but quirky bar, the excellent and friendly service, and the fabulous location. The hotel is steps away from the cathedral, the Joan of Arc site and church, a museum that had a wonderful impressionists exhibits, and plenty of cafes and shops.

Visited Rouen for the first time and enjoyed the hotel. The room had a beautiful view and was nicely furnished. The staff very extremely nice and helpful. Nice breakfast and beautiful courtyard. Parking was a bit tricky due to historical location but the hotel staff were extremely accommodating and took care of it.

I can't express enough how much we love this Rouen & in particular this hotel. Last year we ended up staying here 2 nights instead of 1 because we loved it. This year we started & finished here. It's situated in the oldest part of Rouen, with the courtyard being one of the places to see on the map. All i was bothered about was sitting out there in the little suntrap with a glass of champagne! It's a little hard to find at first, the Sat Nav will take you through the pedestrian area but don't... Stayed two nights at Hotel de Bourgtheroulde which is in the centre of Rouen, historic exterior with a very modern interior. Staff eager to please and approachable, valet parking a must if you don't know the city as it makes the parking process so easy seemed a bit steep at 25 euros + tax but it was a necessity for us. A really good choice at breakfast staff a little slow with tea and coffee but not a major gripe.

This hotel is splendid, a tasteful mix between an old architecture and modern facilities. The staff is friendly, quick to react; I like to have a laugh and joke around and they joined in (I've seen 5 stars where the staff remains so cold that it's sad!). I had some problems connecting my Mac to the Internet but no issue with my phone. It didn't bother me much so I didn't ask the reception to try to fix it. Maybe they could have! The location is perfect, you can walk to the hotel from the train ... Read more

Greeted by valet parking and a remarkable historic hotel entrance the four night stay was off to a good start. Service was impeccable and the room lovely overlooking the courtyard. The contemporary bar served cocktails and other drinks. A restaurant is on hand too but we ate in some of the many places within walking distance. The rooms are not cheap in this 5 star hotel. We booked direct for the best deal. If you want elegance and excellent service within a few yards of historic Rouen, it is ... Read more

We stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday on a stopover journey. First impressions are everything and this place has it. You feel as though you are entering a grand chateau just off a pleasant square, with elaborate stone carvings and the remains of a cloisters, to be greeted on entering with an ultra modern and sleek reception area including a stunning cocktail bar area. Parking can likely prove difficult however we were lucky to find a parking space immediately outside the hotel. There is... Read more

This is the perfect spot for exploring the old town of Rouen. All the historic sites are close by and within walking distance. The rooms are so comfortable and I didn't want to leave that yummy bed! Our room didn't have a tub, but it's a very old building that Francois I and Henry VII are claimed to have stayed in. The hotel has paid a lot of attention to detail and all the mod cons are there.
