Pros: Outstanding location, friendly staff, large room with separate large sitting area, large closet space, floor to ceiling windows that open to small balconies nice for view and increasing ventilation, oscillating fan available, amazing roof top patio with commanding city views, good water pressure in shower. Cons: Dated bathroom with single sink, separate tub with small shower, TV small considering distance from bed. This beautiful hotel is centrally located one block from th... Read more

This hotel has a tremendous amount of history but might be a bit too old world and out of the way for many. The biggest plus is the huge sized rooms by Paris standards - even for the least expensive options. Although classified as 5 star, that is really a stretch. The service standards in particular do not reach that level. Nevertheless, good value for money.

Stayed there twice during a 10 day visit in France. First Room was a Tad on the small side but perfectly adequate. Second room was an up grade with a somewhat convoluted floor plan, hey they worked with the what they had. Only problem was it got warm and the Air Con is not adequate for that size room.

We have been to this hotel several times before and I love the location, size and beauty of this hotel. This has been our favorite hotel in Paris but we may have to try something different for the next visit. It was booked as my birthday getaway celebration and they never mentioned it once during our stay...usually you get a slice of cake or treat sent to your room noting your special day....nothing. Reception said 'happy anniversary' when we checked in but that was all. As LHW members we als... Read more

I had waited 18 years to be "taken" to Paris and so I wanted my trip to be everything I had dreamed of. This hotel was exactly how I had dreamed!! Old world, Parisian elegance exuded from every corner. It was beautifully done, right from the original wooden lift and incredible winding staircase, to the drapes and antique furniture. Because it was a special occasion we were upgraded to the "Eiffel Tower Suite", the best in the hotel, we were told and it really was magnificent. There are few hotel... Read more

Absolutely breathtaking quaint beautiful peaceful friendly hotel. Stayed 4 nights. Loved our room decorated with old fashioned furniture and the bathroom has big double doors that opened onto a balcony. Good soundproofing didn't hear any traffic nuisance noise from the road or from other guests. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and it was raining one day and the hotel gave us umbrellas to use. Breakfast very good - choose from creaks, breads, pastries, frui... Read more

My wife and my oldest daughter visited Paris for a 5 night stay in late May. The Hotel Raphael is a beautiful old hotel with large comfortable rooms that were beautifully appointed. It is located 2 blocks from the Arc de Triomphe. The strengths of this hotel beside its stated beauty are the team that provides first class service, especially the concierge team that made everything possible. The breakfast service provided a good selection of buffet items to get the day going. My only complaint is... Read more

We loved the Raphael. Located 2 blocks from Champs-Elysees and Arc de Triomphe and steps from the metro. Lobby, restaurant and bar are lovely. Our very large room was beautifully decorated with a sitting area and fabulous old french windows. We throughly enjoyed a continential buffet breakfast each morning, although you can also order from the menu. The highlight was the hotel staff who are friendly, polite and helpful.

This was such a luxurious hotel and a great way to spend our first few days in Paris. We were walking distance from Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe and the Metro. Our room was enormous compared to European standards and the bathroom was huge also. There was a large foyer inside the room before you enter the bedroom. We loved the large windows that opened to the street and the furnishings were very nice. I can't say enough about our stay at this hotel. Take a tour of all of the hotel and ma... Read more

I would be difficult for me to over rate this hotel. We were met at the door by the concierge and walked to the check in desk. The hotel is a perfect representation of classy elegance. Our room was perfect, the food there was perfect, and the personnel were some of the nicest, most helpful people I've met. I stayed in this hotel for business. It a nice hotel, especially staff is very friendly and helpful. The style is a little too traditional for my taste. You cannot necessarily say anything bad about it but it could use a little upgrade. Location is perfect for both a bit of sightseeing as well as getting around in Paris.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful, in a property that is very centrally located for easy walking tours. There is a Metro station within 50 feet of the front door. The hotel is older, but has lots of class and charm. The only complaint I had was that the air conditioning just wouldn't quite cool, but overall it was a wonderful stay.

The last time I stayed at the hotel was in 1977, and I was a bit hesitant to go back fearing that it would not be as nice. I was wrong. We reserved the least expensive room for a last minute trip to a class reunion and arrived at around10 am, tired after an overnight flight. Our room was ready for us within 15 minutes. The only bad thing about this visit is that it was only one night. The views from the top of the bar were outstanding. You could not ask for a more romantic setting. Inside the rooms were incredible as well, very luxurious. The breakfast buffet in the morning is also not to be missed. Delicious.

We have been coming here at least once a year for a decade. The concierges are still there -- Sam is a national treasure. When our daughter lived here for the summer, he stood as her emergency contact. The breakfast is the perfect size, and the location is wonderful. Quiet yet convenient. Friends think the decor is dated, but we find it charming. Perhaps the people provide the genuine charm.

Very well located (between arc de triomphe and trocadero) Ok hotel needs to be refreshed as some areas are dated (even the rooms btw) but this place has a soul and staff is incredibly trained, in line with great Parisian hotels standards; all they want is having/keeping you happy and satisfied. True that the "new neighbor", I.e. Peninsula is brand new but when it comes to service not as professional (although friendly) Once refreshed, Raphael will get my 5/5 Ps: excellent value for money

Start to finish a great weekend, the location - 5 min from Arc de Triumph, 10 min stroll from the Trocadero is pretty much perfect. The Terrace restaurant has great views over the City but is a bit pricy. Also they close it on Saturday and Sunday, very strange. The rooms are classically styled but the wifi works well and the staff has a way of making everything easy. No matter what you need they seem to make it happen. Having retired from teaching (33 yrs.), my friend & I decided to splurge and stay at Hotel Raphael, near the Arch of Triumph.
