We stayed with my sister only one night and our room was on the first floor which was painted and smelled terribly! It was very noisy at night. Beds are very uncomfortable and very soft. However, it is located next to great bars so if you are not looking for quality but a central location only this is for you.

After a long journey, arriving from CDG airport, it was quite a trek by Metro and on foot to reach this hotel, which is not really in a prime location as far as the sights of Paris is concerned. However, the receptionist (a multi-lingual and charming man) made us welcome and the room was surprisingly pleasant. It was small and basic, but clean, quiet and the narrow single beds very comfortable. The shower and bathroom were good and although at the front of the building there was little noise ... Read more

The room was small and drab with poor facilities. The hotel itself seemed a bit shabby and the breakfast was very uninspiring. It was rather expensive for what you get, but I suppose that's just Paris prices. The staff were welcoming and helpful, however.

A hotel with imposing names, but poorly maintained, dirty and unfriendly . Small rooms, bathrooms and small, crooked, dark hallways , which have not been seasoned for decades. And the staff is looking to make you feel like they do a favor that allows you to accommodate there. With reference to hotel name, it must mention that Nouvel Opera Bastille is at more than 3 km. .

Seeing the previous reviews I was a little worried but this was a typical 3* Paris hotel. Quite different to a 3*star hotel in the UK. The hotel is in the 11th arondissement which is not a tourist area although it is in walking distance of La Placed de Bastille. Transport links, both bus and Metro, are excellent with buses direct to La Gare du Nord with connections to Eurostar. Buses also connected with Gared'Austerlitz but I haven't a clue which trains use that. My husband and I stayed at the h... Read more

We stayed for a week as part of a tour designed for students. This is a budget hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and functional, but they are the typical small size found in a French 2 star hotel. The lobby is small and a simple breakfast is provided for free - the croissants are very good. The elevator is very small, which is also typical of this type of hotel. The stairwells could use some attention as they are dingy and need repair work done. The hallways always had a powerful on... Read more

I spend one night in this hotel, location is close to the tube station, area is ok, hotel in my opinion is not a 3* hotel, dirty, very small rooms, old furniture, noissy, smell very bad...i would not recommend it for any friends of mine, check in late because the room was not ready on time, not even apologize from the staff for 45min delay ....overall for one night wasnt a good experience.

This hotel is great value for your money. The room was clean and had everything I needed. The style was modern and sleak. The only bad thing was the front desk man who checked me in. He asked how I was getting to the airport the next day and tried very hard to push me to use a car service. It was clear that he was trying to get a referral fee from the driving company. When I told him I would be using Uber, he got angry and his attitude changed. Probably will not go back because of him.

Arrived late at night to be checked into the first room with TV and bed lights not working, I requested to be moved to another room.... the beds were infested with live BED BUGS..in morning after discovering large amounts of blood on sheets it was reported to reception who raised her voice and had to be told to lower her temper. We were moved to another room which in fact was not too bad and their attitudes were more than gracious from that point on. with free breakfast for our 6 night stay....

This is a great place to stay if you'll be out most of the day and just need a bed. The rooms were good with good breakfast. I'd definitely recommend for people looking for a cheap place to stay and it's conveniently located for the metro as well.

Close to Bastille and Voltaire metro we had a three night stay here. The rooms are fine. Think they've been recently renovated. The baths are small, but fine. The cleaner does a Great job and the hotel receptionists Are nice and quick. They kept our bags the last day and gave us a late check-out when our plane was cancelled. We got what we paid for.

This hotel is located very near to Bastille and Voltaire metro station. Besides the location of the hotel, there is nothing to shout about this place. The rooms, rest room and public lifts are the smallest that you can ever find. It gives you a claustrophobic feeling.

So the hotel definitely didn't look as nice as the pictures...The room was much more old and plain. The bathroom was tiny. We got a corner room and there was hardly enough space for us. I am not a big person, and I could barely turn around in the shower without bumping. The walls are also paper-thin so you can hear everything in the hallway and in the rooms next door. The location was pretty good as it is close to the metro. There are a lot of options for restaurants and and grocery stores aroun... Read more

First stay in Paris and could not afford a whole lot, but since we knew we'd spend most of the time walking around, we didn't care so much about luxury, provided we had privacy, safety and comfort... and were also somewhere accessible. We stayed for 3 nights. Staff was nice, polite, attentive and helpful. Décor was a little sad/tacky. Room was clean, but even smaller than what I had experienced in Japan (hee hee) and sometimes we'd have trouble to walk around with our suitcases opened (we had... Read more
