After my normal research before travelling, I settled on the Hotel des Tuileries for our three night trip to Nimes, having used the reviews on TA. The hotel did not disappoint at all. The English owners have a treat of a hotel close to both the historical district of Nimes and yet close to other amenities such as the train station and small supermarkets. Our balcony room was spacious and had all of the facilities you would expect and more for what is officially a 2* hotel. Do not be put off ... Read more

This hotel right in the historic centre of Nimes and within easy strolling distance of the amphitheatre and other main sites of interest offers absolutely fabulous value for money. For a 2* hotel, this establishment punches well above its weight with pleasantly furnished, spotlessly clean en suite rooms boasting tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, TV, aircon and free Wi-Fi. An ample breakfast can be had for an additional 8 euro. For those with a vehicle, a private and secure garage is si... Read more

The hotel is very very shabby. In my opinion it is a 1 star at best. The management is very nice...but their english is limited. The room was rather disgusting. The carpeting looked like it was about 30 yrs old, the bathroom was super daterd with paint peeling off the walls and mold all lover the walls and curtain. The room does have a small balcony which is nice if there is a smoker with you. The one upside is the location is quite good and there is parking. But really..if you have a choice ...... Read more

Some of the reviews here really raised our expectations, and we were a bit disappointed when we first got to the hotel. But it is indeed a 2 star hotel, and amongst 2 star hotels, this is a good one. The staff was friendly and serviceable, the room was ok though quite old and worn out, the location was great and the breakfast for 8 euros was a bargain. Go there with the expectation of a 2-star hotel (which is what it is, and what they advertise), and you'll like it a lot. Go there with the expe... Read more

The location is great - just around the corner from the Arena of Nimes - and the price was right. And while everything was functional and clean, it was by no means new. The toilet rocked a bit when sat upon, and the tub was the smallest I'd ever seen. That being said, the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful.
