This hotel is in the old town but on a street that is quieter at night (cafes not bars). It is near the main avenue and parks and central Nice. Very quirky and pretty decor. Family run service. No elevator and not luxury. Get the balcony rooms if you can. This was our second stay.

We stayed one night, top floor, Saturday night. Smallest shower I've ever seen and very average amenities. But the location is good and the staff were very friendly. It badly needs a make over, with ratty carpet, dated bathrooms (maybe 1970s,I'd say), and ordinary bathroom linen. It was also expensive for a 3 star hotel but I suspect that could be the Nice factor. I'd say it deserves its three star rating.

I have just returned from a 10 day stay at the hotel. Really great location in old town & close to port / beach / shopping. Welcome drink on arrival. Poor wifi connection. Really friendly staff, clean rooms & comfy beds. A little expensive, but I would recommend to friends. Air con was a great plus. Lovely atmosphere outside the hotel and quiet at night. Overall I was very happy with the stay and would recommend staying at this hotel.

This hotel is all about the location which is excellent, right in the old town but also near tram & bus stops. The hotel itself is a bit hit & miss. Staff are friendly in an efficient way and they offer a welcome drink which was a nice touch, free wifi and you can leave luggage if needed. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food but they have a restaurant. I hear that the rooms vary in quality & size. We had a traditional (the Queen Victoria) and it was very cosy so I'd recommend... Read more

great centralized location with a great price- clean inside and out - worth a second trip back - the stairway is narrow but unless you consider yourself wide then going up the stairs is difficult. For the average persons a very good selection of a Hotel

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Villa La Tour for one night while visiting Nice. The hotel is in a perfect location close the old town so only a few minutes walking for great cafes, bars and restaurants. It's like a small boutique hotel, we had a very small room that was decorated nicely so the size didn't bother us for the one night although we did have to climb three flights of stairs! The only downside was there was no toiletries provided in the bathroom and when I asked for a cup of tea dow... Read more

Just returned from a 4 night stay at VLT, and it was very pleasant indeed. The hotel is situated on the Old Town, and we found the narrow passageways were great fun to explore. If you like walking, it's perfectly located, just a few minutes to the port and seafront. The hotel itself is in an old building, and has a restaurant below the rooms at street level. We didn't try the restaurant, only for the buffet breakfast ( not especially good value for money at 12 euros each) but there are nume... Read more

This hotel has a great location and best of all was air conditioned. The room was like being in a guest room of a french family. Clean comfortable . Bath was good size and very clean. Only draw back was no life.

I stayed here with my wife in the summer of 2015. The location is excellent, right in the middle of the Old Town and just a 5 minutes walk to the Promenade. Just a 2 mins walk to the bus stand, so very convenient if you are taking a bus from the airport. The tram station is also just a 2 mins walk away, so you can easily take the tram to the railway station. The staff is friendly, and the food is nice. Our room was pretty small, though it had a nice, small balcony.

I had a night on my own in Nice. Picked this hotel as it was recommended on the Nice forum. Great advice! I took the 98 bus from T1 at the airport and the hotel is almost the last stop. It was easy to spot the hotel from the bus despite it being down a side street. Had room 209 with a balcony. Wonderfully decorated, really cosy and the shower and toilet are seperate from each other. However it is small and I can't imagine anyone over 6ft being able to fit into the loo comfortably. The balcony is... Read more

We booked this place very last minute- and didn't pay very much to be honest, we had been travelling around France and wanted to put our heads down for the night. But all I ask for is somewhere clean- however this was not, the bathroom was full of flies and an assortment of bugs flying around everywhere. The cleaner from 8.45 in the morning was trying to get in our room, even though we kept insisting no- she kept on coming back and I was informed check out was not until 12pm. It's near restauran... We stayed for a week and got a very good deal on their webpage (6 nights for the price of 4, which wasn't available on Expedia, Booking.com and similar). The Vaco room we stayed in was quiet and big enough for two. The only minor grumble was that towels hadn't been left in the room but this was quickly sorted out by the very helpful staff. The location is excellent, being close to the old town and place garibaldi (and as such, trams and buses). The free glass of wine when you arrive is a nic... Read more
