Great little hotel with friendly and very helpful staff! Having breakfast outside in the courtyard was a great way to start the day. Approx 75m to the Promende de Anglais and the beachfront makes it an ideal base. You can also book into the prviate beaches from the hotel reception which is easy to do. The hotel is also a short stroll from the central restaurants and square.

The location of the hotel is very good being close to the beach and the restaurants and other amenities of Nice. The room despite being "superior" was small and the shower room minute. The shower doors opening out made the shower room even more difficult to use and made the floor wet! The curtains are fixed too far from the wall so that light penetrates into the room at night - thoughtless. Never-the-less another enjoyable stay.

We had a room facing the back garden. So our room was very quite. It was a small back garden but still it gave a very nice feeling about the building. The hotel was equipped with all necessary things that you can expect from a three stars hotel. I especially liked the color theme of our room. Its turquoise theme was just in harmony with the color of the Mediterranean see.

Me and my husband stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and it was our first visit to Nice (but not the last :) Very nice hotel with beautiful courtyard garden full of flowers and a lovely fountain in amazing location - very close to Promenade des Anglais and the pedestrian street. Most everything was done very well: very clean, friendly staff - helpful with recommendations and spoke Russian/English, good wifi, good value for money. The only minus - breakfast could have been better.

The room was very clean, the location was ideal (close to the beach and to the Old town) and the staff was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is travelling to Nice for a short time.

Located at Rue de France, it is close to everthing. The staff were very helpful and pre-emptive. We were due to arrive Nice on 24/5 and we got an email from them earlier that morning informing us that there was a partial strike and advised us to take alternative public transport to the hotel - small matter, big difference. A big thank you to you : )

We spent 3 nights here on our first visit to Nice. The hotel was excellent and was just what we needed. The welcome was warm and helpful. We found the room comfortable, with unusually effective and quiet air conditioning. We enjoyed our breakfasts in the enclosed patio, just outside our ground floor room. Altogether a great base.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights a couple of weeks ago - we had a wonderful time in Nice. This hotel was a perfect location within walking distance of everywhere - the beach the old town the cafes and bars etc. Our room was quite small but the bed was comfy and we had nice long windows that opened out to a view of the patio - and the patio/garden area is really lovely. The room was clean and functional and the staff were great - very helpful. I would definitely stay here again

We were more than satisfied with ou room on the 4th floor. Our only small complaint was the room for our first night on the ground floor had a mildew aroma. We would be more than happy to stay there again on another floor.

We only stayed for one night but would have stayed longer. This property is very well located, one block to the Promenade des Anglais and two to the pedestrian area of Rue Massena. The room we had was impeccable, opening directly to the courtyard which was airy and full of light. Definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our buffet breakfast in the courtyard. The hotel is very convenient to the Promenade, making life very enjoyable for visitors! At night, you are close to the nightlife too. It can be a little noisy if your room is near the street, so if you're looking for a quiet hotel, this place is not for you. Highly recommend Hotel de la Fontaine if you're looking for a hotel with a good location and great staff in Nice!

Clean hotel in great location, close to both the center and the beach. Easy acces from the airport and many option to commute. The room was so small that there was no space to open our luggages. Besides that the room was nice, tidy and clean.

This hotel was exactly what I wanted. Just a block from the beach and near the old town, I enjoyed the spotless cleanliness and simplicity of design in the rooms (after so much sensory stimulation in Nice the clean lines and comfort of my room was welcome, as was the air conditioning, coffee maker, and flat screen tv.). Service was professional, gracious, and charming. I would definitely return.

This hotel was great, clean and modern rooms. It was located only a block away from the beach and a short walk to the train station which was great as it allowed for us to visit many of the smaller towns which were even better than Nice (highly recommend taking a train to the beach Eze). The staff were very friendly and provided us with lots of information about where to go and how to get around.

This was probably my 20th stay at Hotel de la Fontaine. One block from the beach and close to everything. Very nice reception and gracious. I have consistently had a lovely stay. It isn't a five star but great value for money, pleasant room, good service, comfortable and clean. I love the location. I love the vibe and if I want more it is probably a block or two away........

Stayed here for 1 night before flying out in early morning. Great location to walk to restaurants and shops in old village. Clean room with good shower. Like most European hotels, the room was small and the ac was not powerful. 2 bath and 2 hand towels provided along with soap and shampoo. We did not stay for breakfast. Most positive was the staff who were very nice and helpful especially Justyn who worked hard to find us a cab to airport at 4am.

A small hotel, located 150m from the Promenade des Anglais, and a few minutes walk from both the old town and the pedestrian area, where there is a great selection of shops and restaurants/bars. We were there for 4 nights. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is varied, and can be taken in a delightful enclosed outside area, which is a great way to start the day. This small friendly hotel is one of the best kept secrets in Nice! Olga and the team keep this small 40 rooms clean, functional at silly prices! 5 min walk from beach. Breakfast is available. Nothing is too much trouble. Shhhhhhh do not let too many people know! We book the following year when we leave. Just perfect!

Ideally located, smallest lift ever, friendly and helpful staff, clean well appointed rooms. I would definitely stay there again if travelling solo or with a friend. This unassuming hotel is walking distance to the beach ( rock pile) the casino, centre of town and some terrific cafes and restaurants.

The room was quite small but clean and nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was the best, just a minute walk and you are on the Promande des Anglais. Brekfast was not included in the room price and was quite expensive. 7 euro for a hot drink, one piece of bred and jam, buffet was 12 euro. Overall the stay was great and I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel was perfect, there were three of us and they offer a triple room with ample space for 3 adults. A full size murphy bed and a king. Breakfast was great and they even have towels to rent for the day which was helpful. The location was great to walk into town or head to the beach. Would stay again!

We have stayed here a number of times and it is definitely our favourite hotel in Nice. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable and it is both near to the sea and close enough to the main restaurant and shopping areas. The buffet breakfast is well presented and good value for Nice. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Great location for a short break to Nice. 3 minutes to the promenade and 10 minutes to the centre. Rooms were very small but spotlessly clean.Would have been difficult in such a small room for a longer stay.We stayed room only so I can't comment on the breakfast, but lots of very reasonably priced places on the same street for a different breakfast every day.Very easy to get to and from the airport by bus, as the bus stop is only 5 mins walk away.

It's close to train station and the bus stop for airport bus is a 5 minute walk. The rooms are compact but have everything including tea/ coffee making facilities. The staff are friendly, helpful and all speak English. The courtyard was pleasant to sit in for breakfast or just for a rest after sightseeing. I would recommend it if visiting Nice.

Walking off the 98'bus from the airport, we had a little hard time finding the hotel. We actually walked pass the street the hotel was on. In reality De la Fontaine is around 5 minutes walking from the bus-stop. Wall-to-wall with a caf├ę and really close to the second biggest walking street in Nice.
