The reception already was friendly and helpful. Our room with two huge beds was cosy and comfortable. Not to talk about the nights; no noise, though in the heart of the city! Breakfast had everything you could ask for:))) The hotel is neat, staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. I will highly recommend this hotel, if ever you stay in Nice, France, Hotel Boreal, c'est merveilleux! Merci a vous et a bientĂ´t!

Hotel is 100 yards from the main street where a tram runs. At the top of this street is Brasserie de l'Etoile which serves the best breakfast ever for 7 euro 50. The hotel was excellent with all the staff having a name badge on the counter with the languages which they speak. This was most helpful for us and other guests who were clearly from other countries. We will certainly be staying here again if we visit Nice. The television channels however only had three English speaking channels, one be... Read more

Room 403 small twin corner room clean and sufficient for our 4 day stay. Close to all amenities. Railway station was 10 minute walk away which was handy. Staff gave us a map and marked out places of interest which was good. Would use this hotel again.

A lovely city centre hotel. Our room was small but very comfortable with a balcony overlooking the street below. Staff very friendly and helpful would certainly recommend it for a short stay. Buffet breakfast available for 12 euros which was good value

We were in Room 402 a good room on the front of the building, well soundproofed from the traffic and well air conditioned although a bit tight for space. Their Web site says that Iron & Ironing Board is available in the room. well it wasn't in 402 but was available from reception. The bathroom is a tight fit as there is little clearance between the door and the toilet seat. Breakfast is superb and good value for money. Wifi is free. There is a PC for guests use in the reception area. The hotel... Read more

I had checked reviews of the hotel on trip advisor and every word said about this hotel was true. Warm and friendly staff, smiling and willing to help. The breakfast spread was wholesome- the croissants were hot, crispy, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, fruits, breads and you could press out your orange juice from orangesđ???đ???đ??? The rooms were lovely - comfortable beds, Bath tub, clean towels, ironing board on request and of course a kettle with tea and coffee. Request for rooms with an elevato... Read more

Stayed recently for 5 nights in this hotel- good location just off the main avenue. My room- number 104 was clean and comfortable- no problem. Staff friendly but some of the breakfast staff could lighten up- main problem was breakfast itself- items often run out, lack of plates, lack of clearing tables etc etc. In saying that, I would readily stay here again if I find myself in Nice.

We have stayed in this hotel a few times and just returned from 3 nights and as usual it didn't disappoint. We had a very clean room with a newish shiny bathroom albeit it was very small for 2 people. The beds were clean and comfortable and the room was quiet. The complimentary coffee and tea was a nice touch and well replenished. The hotel has a late for Nice check out time of 12 but as we didn't fly until 8pm we used the clean shower room later to get ready. We didn't take breakfast this time ... Read more

Stayed two nights. The location of the hotel is very central and in a pleasant neighborhood. Close to the train station, a main shopping street, and 10 min walk to the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room I stayed was very comfortable and clean. Even the room was located at the street side, it was not noisy at all. The bathroom was large enough and very clean. The room was at the second floor without an elevator, thus it was hard to carry the luggages upstairs. I had to carry ... Read more

Stayed for seven nights as we were going to the Monaco Grand Prix, then on to Italy. The location was excellent for our needs, midway between the train station and the Promenade des Anglais. Efficient check in and warm welcome. All the staff were very good, we didn't have breakfast there as it was so expensive, but there's a cafe next door, and a really good coffee shop just a few doors down. Room was clean but tiny, and the bed comfy. Bathroom had been refitted recently, but again it was tiny... Read more

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, especially Steve. The location was nice, on a small street but very close to main street, train station and beach. Bed was comfy and we had a bathtub. My main complaint was the room was about as small as possible and still get a bed in the room. Not able to use the bathroom if door was open because it was so small. We didn't purchase breakfast, we thought it was a little spendy. We picked up cafe next door and went to bakery down the street. Probably ... Read more

This hotel is very welcoming. The staff were helpful, especially Natalia and Sergie. Both very friendly and nothing seemed to be any trouble to them. It is very centrally located. Very close to train and bus station, the main shopping street, and of course the coast. Room was very clean, had an opening window with a pleasant view. Breakfast was outstanding. Fresh orange juice, a nice touch. Everything was good about this hotel and I totally recommend it.

For the second year we stayed in this very friendly hotel. This year we extended our stay to a week and as others have said previously, nothing is too much trouble for the helpful staff who speak a variety of languages. We were in the area to go to the Monaco Grand Prix, so this is an excellent base. The hotel is clean, and we find the breakfast good value for money as it has everything we would want before we venture out for the day. Handy for shops, seafront, station and sightseeing, it rea... We expected more from a 3 star hotel. The double bedroom and en suite were very small and cramped. The fresh towels supplied each day were hard and off colour. The grey decor felt depressing and the furnishings needed updating. Upon requesting an iron and ironing board we were asked to return it asap as there was a shortage of these items and other guests would require them. This was a Bed and breakfast establishment only. no evening meals were available. On the positive side the room was clean ... Read more

This is a very good value hotel in a good location in Nice. Easy walking distance of the sea front & the station. Plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants nearby. Room overlooked the street but wasn't noisy. Reception manned 24 hours a day with pleasant staff. It's my 2nd stay here & is excellent value. It's not a luxury 5 star hotel, b... Read more

This is a bijou hotel of very high quality - belying its 3-star rating. Some rooms are smallish, but who is going to stay in their room all day? There was a room safe (excellent) and tea/coffee-making facilities in the room (unusual for France, but very welcome). The breakfast was very comprehensive including hot and cold selection, pastries (often warm), a fresh orange-juicer (heaven) and a pleasant dining room. Hotel Boreal is the 4th Hotel we stayed at while on our journey through France and we could not fault it! Stayed 3 nights - should've been longer. No security problems in Nice - felt safe and well guarded. A beautiful and clean city with excellent shopping and restaurants. We stayed here one night in advance of a bicycle race from Nice to Geneva that we were competing in. The Boreal is very well located - close to both the beaches and old town Nice with it's markets and restaurants. Our room was comfortably appointed and had plenty of room for the two of us and our luggage Bike storage facilities were good. Breakfast was also very good but could have offered a bit more variety; what was available was high quality though.

Pre-booking, check-in & check-out, i.e., basically our experience with the staff: We booked through booking.com. We got to Nice very late for our check-in but we had kept in touch with the front desk and they ensured that our check-in would not be a challenge. We had booked two double room, but they upgraded one of the rooms to a triple room as we were travelling with a child and that made our stay very comfortable. I stayed for 4 nights at the Hotel Boreal and was pleased with my stay. The room was clean and comfortable, with excellent air conditioning. The location was tremendous - almost equidistant from the coast and the train station, and a block off the pedestrian shopping street. This made it incredibly easy to get to most things in Nice. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. The only downside of the room was that it was a bit dated, with cracked paint on the walls and ceilings. Still, I... Read more
