The service from the front desk staff was exceptional they found and booked two great resturants for us. The bar was busy but worth passing an hour or so in and the location of the hotel was very good.

A most enjoyable stay. The recently refurbished hotel is full of charm and very well situated in the centre of Nantes on the "green line" recommended tourist route and close to the Opera & La Cigale restaurant. The staff were very competent and friendly.

This hotel,is situated at the centre of Nantes and bills itself as a four star hotel. It is in a historic building but has only one small lift. When the lift breaks up, as it did when we were there you may have to climb the four long stairs a few times. True, the staff helped some clients carry up their luggage but the situation was unpleasant. As well, they have a strange pricing policy. We ended up paying their highest price and getting their small room. In a large room you are better off. The... Read more

A wonderful place to stay while exploring Nantes. The location is ideal next to the beautiful opera and an easy walk to historic district and sites. Alexander, and the rest of the staff were charming and helpful. I highly recommend it.

I spent two nights recently at the Hotel de France on a business trip. I travel extensively in France for my business. The Hotel de France is definitely one of the most beautiful properties I have had the privilege to enjoy. I had a double room for two people. The room is perfectly arranged for comfort and luxury. The beds are very comfortable, nice toiletries were provided. The room was well lit and had enough electrical outlets for charging phones and computers. We had a lovely view of the squ... Read more

We were put in one of the best rooms, (they said it was their best) in the house and we loved it! It was large, right over the square, beautiful and amazing service! The only hard part was finding parking and walking our suitcases up the hill, but we saw they had parking as soon as we walked in - our bad!

I simply loved the hotel. The room was large enough compared to other hotels in Europe and the bathroom was every woman's dream ( very large, with a towel heater and large counterspace). I need to also mention that the service was excellent, from the arrival to checking out! The location of the hotel is perfect, right between place Graslin and place Royale, and next to Passage Pommeraye. Thank you for making my stay so nice in Nantes!

We stayed at the Oceania Hotel for 2 nights. My first experience abroad. Knowing in advance the rooms are smallish, I was prepared. This is a nice quiet hotel with helpful staff. I would stay here again.

We stayed a week at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are clean, the service friendly, and the style modern and pleasing. This is a four-star hotel and the price seemed very reasonable, about 150 euros per night. The location is in a nice neighborhood with nice shops and restaurants nearby.

This is a pleasant hotel in a good part of town (not that anything is far away in Nantes). The general level of service is high, though the way that male reception staff leapt to their feet when we passed by was rather old fashioned and over obsequious, we thought, this is the 21st Century, after all. Our room was pleasant, though quite small. It would have benefitted from a fridge. The show was effective. He wi-fi was good. Staff were helpful and polite. Really, the only thig we thought needed ... Read more

The Oceania Hotel de France was a lovely surprise. From the outside, you don't know what to expect but as soon as you walk in, you know it will be great! The hotel is in an older building to which they gave a modern flare. It looks amazing. The rooms are the same, beautiful large windows with modern and comfortable furniture. The beds was super comfortable and the bathroom spacious. Breakfast was simple but delicious, a real French petit dejeuner. The service was impeccable. The front desk staff... Read more

We stayed a couple of nights an we were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel is modern and very nice in interior. The only draw back was that the toilet was a little smaller but this is a detail. I want to focus on the service. The people behind the desk and especially Alexandra, the bar manager who helped me fix some important practical issue for my business. Good value for money and a superb location in the center of the city.

This is a hotel that makes you say, Wow! When you walk in the lobby. It was renovated two years ago and everything is clean and modern looking. It sits right off the beautiful Place Graslin in the part of Nantes where very little traffic is allowed. Our room (313) was huge with a great view of the opera house below, a wonderful bathroom with a huge tub and a very nice ambiance. A very nice staff at the desk and a good breakfast made it a perfect stay.

I think for most people combining the highest standards in hotel comfort and care at a reasonable cost is an aspiration rarely fulfilled. Having decided on a golfing holiday in France this year my wife, son and I headed for an overnight at Nantes before catching our plane home. For me and my family this was a chance encounter that really worked out well for us especially since we were able to take advantage of weekend rates in a hotel generally catering for the discerning business traveler. Hotel recently renovated but very difficult to reach by car. The hotel's parking is too small so if you arrive late : no more place!!! Service average and rooms cheap but clean. Definitly no interest to come back

Having booked this hotel last month, sadly we had to cancel our stay at the last minute due to a serious family illness, but I would just like to say how kind and understanding they were - in particular Léo who I spoke to on the phone and who sorted everything out and emailed me to confirm in a matter of minutes. It was one less thing to worry about. We definitely hope to visit in the future. Thank you!

Excellent stay with good walking access within the centre. The hotel has a very discreet entrance and is lovely inside. The room was a good size and very good overall including a very large shower (no bath) which was fine for us.

A pleasant hotel in a pedestrianised area, similar in quality to Mercure. An interesting art display. The welcome drink was a nice touch. Access by car was a bit scary - the access and parking arrangements were confusing to a first time visitor.

The Hotel, located in the pedestrian zone of Nantes is not easy to approach and you need all your nerves. The house itself is excellent and has also a (too) small free car park. The room was very nice and clean and quiet.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during a business trip. The hotel was like new with excellent beds and nice decor. A/C worked perfectly, and the room was very quiet. All personnel : frontdesk/bar/breakfast were extreemly helpful and accomodating . The location is perfect in the middle of Nantes. Many restaurants and historic sites within walking distance. Perfect for bus. or vacation.

The staff is very nice and patient. If you are parking there, call ahead for directions and the access code to open the barrier as we had some issue with finding and getting there. Once there, the location is great for food and sightseeing. The room was modern and comfortable. The overall stay was great!

Beautiful hotel right next to the opera house and square with fountains and delicious cafes. If driving, there is secure parking either at the hotel or just around the corner but you need to get the code from the hotel to get you through the secure bollards.

My family and I stayed at the Hotel de France for 4 nights holiday and it was really excellent. Very friendly, efficient staff, especially the room ladies. The rooms were spotless, the air conditioning worked so that it was easy to sleep and the view from my room over the Square was magical. A really relaxing, quiet hotel, yet in a central location. Very highly recommended.

Amazing hotel, amazing staff. We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time. The shower is worth the price alone! The wine bar is the perfect place to relax with a drink, before or after dinner. The hotels location is perfect, the free parking is a welcome bonus (space is limited and be sure to ask for info before you arrive so you can get into the pedestrian area with your car).

A two night stay during our tour de France. Now, this is a very hard hotel to access as Nantes is not an easy city to navigate. However, once you find it, and get parked, it is worth it. The staff are excellent, from reception through to Alex in the bar. Décor, ambiance, room - all fab-u-lous darling. Room had air conditioning and yes, even a kettle for a cuppa which our travels have found is a bonus in France. The location is fantastic, close to shops, restaurants, bars, meeting places a...
