This is an architectural masterpiece having been transformed from a former hospital for which it has won several awards. Close to port. Excellent staff snd concierge service. Beautiful interiors and landscaping. Reasonably priced. Would stay here again.

First of all, it is a fact that this hotel is one of the very best hotels in Marseille. Its presence, location and facilities are absolutely wonderful. And it is sad that I have to share my experience. I stayed there for one night, since I was traveling around southern part of France by car with my husband and we didn't get to stay in Marseille for long. A male receptionist helped me when I was checking in. I am Asian, specifically Korean. I gave my passport to him when I checked in. However wh... Read more

We were here for just one night - our first night in Marseille on our way to a smaller town in Provence. We checked in before noon. Our room was not quite ready, so we were escorted to the hotel lounge on the second floor where we enjoyed a glass of wine and local cheeses. The receptionist came to us when our room was ready, about 30 minutes later. She handed us our keys, took us to the elevator, and had already had our bags delivered to our room. Every interaction we had with any of the st... Read more

This is a huge luxury hotel. Bus tours, corporate meetings, etc. We like small luxury hotels. Hotel personnel good but impersonal. We went to the bar the first night and really liked it - small with a good bar menu. The next night everyone was outside and we were told they'd prefer we go there. It was in the high 50's and chllly but they told us they had heaters and could give us a blanket. Really? Wrap ourselves in a blanket and have a glass of wine. The restaurant served a 3 cou... The hotel it self is beautiful and the room was lovely. It's in a good location for exploring the nicer parts of Marseille. However, for the price you get nothing included, you have to pay to use the sauna etc, you have to pay for parking, you pay ?39 each for breakfast and when the rooms are that expensive I think it's cheeky to add on so many extras. Not quite sure what it is is they are charging you for.

Luxurious hotel in a spectacular setting. Rooms luxurious and comfortable. Breakfast in the hotel was a wonderful array of fresh foods to suit any palate or dietary requirement right down to orange juice pressed in your presence. We were gifted one ticket for the Eurocup match (England v Russia) and we were staying in Cap d'ail but my husband does not turn down a free EuroCup ticket so we decided to go. However, when I told our friends that I was just going to "hang around" alone in Marseille, all my friends became very concerned because Marseille is not a safe place for a single lady to "hang out". In addition, there had been riots between England and Russian fans and one fan nearly died. So we looked up 5 star hotel... Read more

I hate leaving bad reviews and although the hotel is a beautiful building the arrogance of the staff was off the scale ! The whole week was a battle with slow, condescending and dismissive service. One of the managers did apologise at one point and was very very nice. She trained in the US ! It's a beautiful building though. The rooms are well appointed. Mine faced the harbour, and was lovely but the whole experience for us as a group was marred by arrogant, pompous service.

The Hotel Dieu is located at the top of a steep hill, there's only one way to get into the hotel by foot, which makes it remarkably inconvenient. Combine this with the fact that it is in a dodgy part of town, and that doesn't quite make up for the luxury of the hotel. In reality, Marseille is so grubby, I'd stay outside of the city.

Situated very close to the Old Port, this is an amazing hotel design and style-wise. The hotel staff is extremely professional and helpful and the entire experience made my stay in Marseille a memorable one

First tried in Lisbonne, Portugal we are still admiring the perfection of the intercontinental brand. This time in Marseille, France. All is good. The executive room is just perfect : big and quiet. The location is the left wing. Blue divine carpet in the corridor. Very quiet room with a king size bed. Shower and bath tube. Separate toilet. Bottle of red wine offered with our deal. The team is as professional as always. You can order a pic-nic or ask the concierge anything. We love this hotel. ... Read more

This hotel is beautiful with beautiful views. It was breathtaking to go to the restaurant outside and see the wonderful views. I wasn't the biggest fan of the restaurant. It lacked a little customer service orientation especially considering the price. I did send back the first dish that I got and the second dish I got was just mediocre. But it's a nice experience especially since I was just there for a night

Stayed 2 nights after a trip to Morocco. From the moment our Uber driver pulled up to the front doors until we left two days later, this hotel and its staff delivered on all counts. From the front desk to the concierge, all the way to the housekeeping staff, they delivered impeccable service with a smile. Case in point: leaving the room for a day of sightseeing, we inadvertently left the "do not disturb" light on. Of course, when we returned to the room at 4:30 pm, the room had not been cle... Superb hotel in the center of Marseille, very close to the harbour area. Several small and good restaurants just around the corner. Great rooms and lobby area with french juice and croissants to guests. Staff was very service minded.

I was only here for one night but it is definitely worth making the effort to stay here if you can. The building itself is impressive, the views across the port superb and the overall quality and service exceptional. Highly recommended.

We went to Marseille for the first time ever, my wife, two of Our daughters and me, and upon advise from Mrs B, who had seen a TV program on the hotel, we went for the expensive, but spectacular Hotel Dieu. A great 4 night stay in Nice and spacious rooms, excellent service and very pleasant staff all around. The hotel is extremely centrally located, we had rooms overlooking the old port, and anywhere in Central Marseille is Close by. a pretty penny well spent !

Difficult to compare to anything existing; the old hospital Hotel Dieu transformed into a luxury hotel with an unbeatable view on the Vieux Port of Marseille. I believe all rooms face the old port, impossible to imagine such rooms having served as hospital facility. Superb staff, superb reception, superb service, fantastic ambiance, in short; can not think of anything to be imroved

Our room was lovely, spacious and clean. Great views of the old port from this hotel and the terrace. It was a short walk to the old port and all the front of house and cleaning staff were lovely. The only let down was at breakfast. The staff were a bit slow and we had to request something as simple as toast for our daughter as there was no toaster in the buffet area. I also heard other families having this dilema

Shocked by brunch service... stayed in this hotel for a night, all was great except service quality in such an excelent place was super bad, restaurant was empty, but waiters did not give us even the minimum of atention. i would nit recomend this restaurant, there is plenty cozy places, family restaurants, cheaper and more worth atention.

Stunning location and hotel that is super modern and beautiful. Great location with staff that speak English and that are helpful and friendly. The gym needs a bit of an upgrade but that would be the only feedback. Loved it.

We stayed at this property on our first visit to the lovely city of Marseille. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, capturing the European old world charm with modern amenities. However the service standards are so incredibly poor it makes one wonder if the people running the hotel are aware of a thing called social media and that they're not operating in a vacuum. Check in: This was our first stay at an intercontinental property in Europe. At check in, we enquired if it would be possib... Read more

Arrived late at night, very tired and worn out. Front Desk Representative caught on to my jet lag and checked me in efficiently and quickly. Room was well appointed and laid out functionally. Only complaint was a faint musky smell and what turned out (after a good rest) to be an underwhelming, interior view. But I did have a good room rate. The concierge was extremely helpful and provided me with an accurate, thoughtful recommendation (I had forgotten to pack several items) nearby--it was a... Read more
