Room were excellent, providing everything you need for a pleasant nights rest. Restaurants are close by and transport is easy to access. The hotel is the best value when travelling on a budget. The rooms are more than comfortable.

My stay for 3 nights was ok at this hotel. The location is good and in the old town. The hotel is basically a hostel and I wouldn't call it a hotel. If you pay more than 40 euros a night, you are going to be incredibly disappointed. I paid 90 euros a night + breakfast (7 euros). The room that I had was dated and there was basically no window. The window was a small basement window that looked out on an interior courtyard, which basically gave little or no natural light into the room, so it... Read more

I stayed here with a friend of mine, it was the great solution: very near to the center and good breakfast. The room wasn't very big, but clean and with a view on the river, no rumors from the street. The owner was very helpful, and he indicated all the places worth seeing. The breakfast was with the croissants and good coffee.

Firstly the good points....Hotel Saint Paul is very well located in the centre of Vieux Lyon, a minutes walk from the C3 bus route into the heart of Lyon and Part Dieu station. Considering its very central location the noise level was low. The bedding was very clean and the bed comfortable. The reception staff were helpful and pleasant. Now the nasty bits....when we arrived the hotel was a building site - major building work was going on right in the heart of the hotel and the main access... Read more

We have stayed here before several years ago and paid for a standard room, this time we paid for a superior room, but unfortunately there was nothing superior about it. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and it was clean. The bed was against the wall.. which is always difficult, there were no bedside tables, a very small dressing table and a small wardrobe. We looked out on to the street which was a little noisy caused by late night revellers. The bathroom was clean, but the towels were ... Read more

Booked this hotel when the Euro football tournament were in town so lots of competition and I was a little worried. More concerned when I got an email saying the reception was not open after 3 pm and you had to go to another hotel to book in. The reviews are generally fair. The rooms are small, and perhaps more appropriate to 1 person than 2,but clean and the bathroom is good. There is a central stairwell which is open to the sky and there is a strong echo which can mean everything sounds loud... Read more

A great location and potentially a good place to stay. The room was small - not enough room for bags and two people. And not well ventilated, or air conditioned, and poor curtains. The bathroom was renovated and fine. The spiral stairs interesting. Breakfast good, and counter staff pleasant.

We stayed at Hotel Saint Paul so we'd be close to the middle of Old Lyon. This place is a great place if you want to be in the middle of the very oldest section of Lyon. The proximity to cafes, bars, bouchons, and shopping is out standing. The building is very old..but you are in Old Lyon so none of the building are new. So with that don't expect five star accommodations. However, some of the highlights of the place: rooms are clean, breakfast is included and it's very good. staff is very f... Read more
