This is a clean hotel, reasonably priced but out of town. Our frustration was that we arrived on a Sunday afternoon to find that our sink drained super slowly. We reported this to the front desk, who said they would tell their technician, but he doesn't work on Sunday but would take care of it on Monday. We got home after Monday sightseeing and nothing had been done. I called again and was told he was off that day - -they have no backup personnel. I said that was ridiculous for a hotel which... My brief was a convenient place to stay overnight, when driving from Paris down to the Med, with 3 little kids. I needed somewhere near to the motorway, easy to park (car park), with good facilities, kid-friendly, good value for a family, and with simple eating options. This new Novotel (very reliable French chain that has a high quality/price ratio) was perfect. Underground parking, new building, great location with views over the river and bang right next door to a new mall, and some new funk... Read more

This hotel is ideally located to both business and pleasure guests. The rooms are large and bright. The breakfast options catered for all tastes. The dinner menu was great and not too expensive. The only letdown was the refreshments on offer at the bar, which lacked charm and service. Overall I will return and stay again, while visiting this lovely city

This hotel is awesome - great location, right next to a shopping center; public transport nearby; 7 EUR Uber ride to the old town. The facilites in the room are very good. Best of all, the view. We had a room overlooking to the east and the view is really really pleasant. Minibar items included. Overall, great experience! Highly recommended.

The first time I stayed, I arrived on a Sunday evening. Called room service and was told that they decided not to offer a full menu that evening...., so I ate out. Second visit had cold potatoes and tomatoes for breakfast. Told someone there about it, and they shrugged. Next day, eggs were cold. Told someone about it, they shrugged. Last day there, cold potatoes, tomatoes, and eggs. I did not bother to say anything by then. No iron in room, so I asked for one. They just let it out in the... Read more

This is a really great place to stay while in Lyon. Very nice hotel, large room, perfect bathro. Good location and great breakfast :) I recommend this hotel with no hesitation. If you have your car, parking is convenient as well and not expensive compare to similar hotels.

Nice room, good bathroom and bed. The food was ok. We asked for a gluten free meal and one day it was not a problem, the other day we did not manage to let the waiter understand what it is. He was not at all aware of this.

The hotel is in a good location as part of the Confluence shopping and leisure centre (which has plenty of dining options), and was handy for a corporate event I was attending a few minutes‚?? walk away at La Sucri√®re. A taxi from the airport costs ‚?¨55 and takes half an hour. Alternatively the metro and tram combination would be about ‚?¨15 but an hour or more, but then it‚??s handy for travel into the centre of town. There was some renovation work on one of the two lifts, so often using the... Read more

Excellent location, connected to a top and brand new shopping mall, beautiful views of the river and quiet at night. Nice rooms, clean, and fairly decent breakfast table. Parking is super convenient, I drove in and 10 minutes later I was in my room. Confluence is the place to be and visit from when you are in Lyon.

Arrived late Sunday, slight confusion over bookings but quickly sorted. From that moment on , all the staff could not have been more helpful. All did everything they could to make our three night stay as comfortable as possible. Thanks Novotel, we'll see you again I hope.

We had a pleasant stay at the Novotel Lyon Confluence. We booked an executive double room for our stay so that our daughter would have her own space. We arrived around 11am and were told that the room would only be available at 2pm (despite our booking having said check in was at 12). This was ok as the Euro football was on and the hotel was full. Our room was however smelling of smoke when we got to it but the hotel was full so when we told reception there was nothing they said they could do. W... Read more

Just back from a visit to Lyon and booked last minute at Novotel Lyon Confluence. Went for the Wales vs. Portugal match and there was very little to choose and was excited this popped up last minute. I booked the room online and requested an early check in as we were landing at 8:30 am as is usual to Europe. After several frustrating phone calls to the hotel that went to French voice mail and unable to get anyone on the phone I finally got through to a person. After a two short conversatio... Read more

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and modern. The hotel offered a good breakfast, although replenishment of food did take long. On one night, we tried to order desserts and drinks at the hotel bar and found that the bar staff were resistant to helping us with both, despite the entire bar being empty. Overall, we have enjoyed the Novotel hotel chain during our stay and will be happy to book this again.

It's beyond my understanding how a new modern hotel from the worlds biggest hotel chain can design a new hotel that has only two elevators and you have to wait in line to use them, the rooms are weirdly distributed and ugly. But here are my real complaints: We arrived at 3 pm to check in and our room was not ready, we had to wait and the front desk guy was horrible, he would not let us check in unless he could give us a room. 345 we finally got the room. Next day at check out, we had a 30 euro ... Read more

Great location, great family rooms, well-equipped with everything one needs. Clean, great river views. Location near the shopping center and transportation-a real plus. Walk along the river promenade - a beautiful evening walk. Only minus is the entrance, near garbage and really strange for a four star hotel.

We stayed here on our way down to Cannes to brake the drive up. Very easy to find and a good clean hotel. Rooms weren't that big, but good enough for what we needed. The restaurant was good and so was the service. We would use again if doing the same trip

This Novotel is situated the Confluence area. It is slightly off centre, but that's not a deterrent as it is quite easy to access public transport from the area. If you enjoy modern architecture, the area is very interesting even though parts of it are still under construction and feel slightly "unfinished" The hotel is part of a large mall, so no shortage of stores & "not too bad" restaurants. If you're looking for old-town charm, go elsewhere. The hotel itself is quite good. Both rooms and st... Read more

This hotel has very little to recommend it. It is in an odd location which, if you use the local tram, requires you to schlep your way through a large shopping center which makes you feel as if you are in California. Being greeted morning and night by a McDonalds did not make my wife and I feel like we were in France. The restaurant is over-priced and the food is poor. The employees are surly and the service is slow. You would be better off going to the local McDonalds. The room was not w... Read more

This seems to be a very new hotel in a newly developed area of the city. We had a very comfortable family room, which was very well equipped with great views of the marina below and old town in the distance. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is right next to a new shopping centre with cinema and lots of places to eat. It's also right next to the tram line, with one change to get to the city centre and to explore the old town.

We stayed at the Novotel Confluence during our two days in Lyon. The Hotel is located in the cosy and new "La Confluence" district of Lyon. You have direct access to the tram, the vaporetto and other transport facilities. We used the Novotel Parking which is situated in between a shopping complex parking but separated by a special gate. The restaurant with its large patio has a nice view on the Sa√īne. Staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel opened just 4 years ... Read more

I arrived very late last night having requested a quiet room with no connecting door. I got a room with a connecting door. My golden rule is to go back and demand a move but, it was midnight As it turned out, there was no noise through the connecting door but very loud banging and drilling started at 8am from the other side of my room. It's a project to replace the lift / elevator. There is no mention of this large construction project, the noise or the reduced lift capacity on the website I... Read more

Used as an overnight stop on our way to the south and did not disappoint. Lovely location by the river(s) and near a selection of ok eateries/bars etc. Modern amenities, lovely rooms and whisper-quiet AC! Good breakfast on the terrace overlooking the river. Nice staff. Did what it said on the tin!
