Fairly easy to find but there is no parking. You have to go to the underground car park which is 5 minutes walk away. Room comfortable with a view over the hotel swimming pool. Best thing is the location right in front of the marina and restaurants etc

Well placed for visiting the port of La Rochelle and good restaurants. Close too to the shopping area. Nice clean hotel, friendly helpful staff. Receptionist, night staff, cleaning staff and breakfast staff. Good self service breakfast with view of the port. Lovely room and bathroom with small outside terrasse. Will stay there again for sure.

I was only here as a one night stopover but will definitely be back for longer. Excellent waterfront location and only a few steps from the old town, shops and restaurants. Easy to find but parking would have been a nightmare except for the fact that they have an arrangement with a hotel round the corner for secure parking. Room was comfortable and quiet although I didn't get the harbour view I had booked. No chance to use many facilities but all looked in order, the outdoor pool would be good i... Read more

Le Yachtman is right on the old harbour. You could not ask for a better location in a French harbour that exceeds all expectations, with fabulous restaurants a short stroll away. There is secure parking a short walk away, in an area where parking is at a premium. The price is fair. But there is no way it justifies its 3* rating. It is 2* and stuck in the early 1970s. The decor is tired, the mean little towels exhausted, the carpets worn out and the air conditioning inoperative. It is noisy at ni... Read more

Stayed here last year and as we are thinking of going back this year thought I'd better review last years stay. Hotel is in a great place by the harbour and close to all the amenities, restaurants and bars of the town centre. Staff were very helpful. We had a room at the front which was overlooking harbour and was quite large. The room was nicely laid out and spotlessly clean and comfortable with seating area that accommodated a sofa. No problems at all. Would definitely check it out again.

we chose the yachtman so we would have easy access to the harbour front and views of the same . we were not disappointed at all . we were initially unhappy with our allocated room but were swiftly offered a much nicer , larger alternative so all was good . breakfast was a typical french offering with a good selection and excellent croissants . the hotel is a little tired and the pool area particularly so but there were signs of a major in the future revamp so i really hope that this happens - t... We spent four nights last week in Le Yachtman, for a bit of city 'biz' after a relaxing week on Ile de Re. To give us a bit of space (which I need, as a double-hip replacee) we booked a junior suite with a harbour view. Our room was as we'd hoped. So we were a bit disappointed, on our return from dinner on night 2, to be told that a sofa bed has been added to the room. This ugly piece of furniture completely dominated the room, and left literally no space to move around in. I finished the h... Read more

OK service, could have expected that the receptionist was better in english. The room needs som updating, there was 35 degrees outside but the airconition did not worked as expected. The breakfast was very good, and the location was great. There was also a swimming pool, but we did not have time to use it.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Lovely spacious room, clean and tidy but could do with an update. Great location though, looking out over the harbour. We took advantage of heated pool, lovely after a day exploring the beautiful town. Breakfast was lovely although felt like we were in a conference room.

The hotel is on the harbour and is easily found. The rooms are tired and feel like stepping back in time, but the air conditioning worked well and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom and toilet the same. The pool is in the the centre courtyard and only has about 10 loungers, the capacity of the hotel when we stayed was 46 rooms. Breakfast was ok - bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes; 2 types of cereal and fruit and pastries. We had a nice stay, but it needs a refurb. Thankyou

We stayed in this hotel for one night. Because it was peak season we were glad to find a room in la Rochelle on a Saturday evening. The problem is that quite a few guests, including ourselves, arrived between 15.00 and 16.00 and then had to deal with the fact that the bedrooms weren't ready yet. Without even offering us a drink for the inconvenience, we ended up waiting until 16.45 to obtain our room. When we got to the room the carpets still had to be vacuum cleaned and had to wait in the passa... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and had a brilliant time. Room was spacious with great views of the harbour; very clean, lovely large comfortable bed with nice linen. Staff were extremely helpful and service good. Location is fabulous: surrounded by bars and good restaurants. Pool area could be more attractive but pool is warm and a good size. Certainly intend to return

We booked this Hotel because of the pool but this was out of order throughout our stay. There was no working Wi fi for Apple products so my daughter had a double disappointment. The room was also incredibly noisy with ineffective double glazing we were not offered a different room so had to put up with 2 sleepless nights with neighbours partying and fighting until 3 am to 4 am. We were told that they were students and the police would not do anything about it. We left after 3 nights jaded and wi... Read more

Had stayed previously and gave a rave revue. 3 years on its got a little jaded. The staff are wonderful and the rooms are kept so clean. The pool area needs a revamp as its not as good as it was. Breakfast was good for the first 4 days but the bread was very poor afterwards. Am I being picky ? Location is excellent and it's easy to get around to many attractions and restaurants.

Stayed for three days and my wife and I were happy with this hotel. Its position is perfect as it is situated right in the middle of the quay . Walk out of the hotel and there is numerous restaurants to the left and right. Across the road is the marina. The rooms were adequate, and upon reading previous reviews about the carpet in the hallways being worn, it was being replaced on our stay . The staff on the front desk were very helpful, thankyou Hugo. Overall would recommend le yachtman fo... Read more

On arrival at the hotel we were tired after a long days drive when asked whether we could park our classic cars and the cover we were told yes given directions to the parking which we found very confusing and took us over 25 minutes to locate I'm arriving back at the hotel we wish you'd have the keys to our room and given directions which are equally confusing and in the end after 10 or 15 minutes had to seek directions again from reception which eventually somebody have to take us to the rooms ... A two night stopover and glad not staying any longer. Location is excellent as you are close to the marina and all the other attractions but the hotel is a bit scattered and sad. The reception staff were great and a gentleman, who spoke great English, guided us to the secure parking (an additional cost). It was a bit of a preamble to get the parking sorted but we managed fine. Between check in and parking the car, our room number was changed and the lift was out of order (a lightning strike ...
