My wife and I made a late booking for 2 nights and extended our stay for 2 more as we were enjoying the hotel so much. The hotel was originally a convent that was occupied by the German army during WW2. The rooms are beautifully decorated and our room on the 1st floor had a lovely view over the sea. The staff and management were excellent, and a special mention to Christopher on the front desk who was so obliging and helpful.

from outside, it looks amazing. The place is big and it must be expensive to maintain. You feel that it is 'tired' and needs maintenance. We got a comfort room with view on the sea. The room was well-decorated but felt as cold as a hospital room... no cosy feeling at all. quite small. however very clean. Personal are very kind. The bathroom was comfortable and clean ... but tired We could not sleep: heard the neighbours upstairs walking around, next-door neighbours opening/closing doors, cars dr... Read more

Whilst helpful staff, particularly Christoph, views super whilst worthy of consideration if visiting the area, the 19 steps to entrance is off putting rooms are good size but need seats in rooms, hotel seems a little tired in need of refurb. needs lift to ground level

We stayed here last summer after some years absence (we used to come here all the time). We thinks it's a hidden gem. We enjoyed the food and the live entertainment. A lot of people say it looks a bit tired but we don't think that at all. It is all part of its charm. For the area the price you pay and what you get is fantastic.

This was a quick late booking for my wife and I on a family holiday in the area. Arrived mid afternoon, the entrance is a wow, and just what we want, a bit of typical old French 'style', no modern black and white hotel chain.. Room was over looking the pool and the best view I had in a long time. Had dinner there and drinks later with the live music.. Again very French!! Staff where great and very helpful.. Funny you have to pay for a pool towel, due to past guest had stolen them... (Why!!!???... Read more

A wedding, great location for a reception. Bedroom good, bathroom reasonable, facilities wise, no bar inside (though there could be), restaurant area is a bit dingy, pool is nice if a little shallow for personal liking. The downside the public areas and these need upgrading and brightening - don't think much has changed since it was a nunnery. Staff were all excellent, not that there are many - trés sympa but I do have the advantage of speaking some French, albeit with a heavy accent. I ate ... Read more

This is a great renovated place with comfortable room. Free parking and Internet (stable and good speed). I was not able to try the restaurant as it was close (every Tuesday). Staff is very nice and helpful.

My wife & I planned a few days in France to meet up with 10 friends and picked this hotel. We were not disappointed. We organised a special meal at the hotel on one night, planning it from the UK months before, and the hotel did a fantastic job. We ate a table outside near the swimming pool, and can only compliment the hotel in all the preparations they made to make the evening special. The food was delicious and the service was attentive. Although the hotel seemed to be full, we never were awar... Read more

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing stay at L'Orangerie Parc. Staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. From the continental breakfast by the pool, to a lazy day at the pool (always enough loungers) to dining by the pool at night (food excellent) we couldn't fault it. Conveniently located for the local town, La Croix Valmer, local beaches and trips out to the French Riviera and Provence. Rooms were clean, comfortable and decorated in Provencal style. We will be returning... Read more

Concept of customer service sadly lacking in this hotel which looks so beautiful from the outside and has a lovely pool and gardens. Understand that it is a three star but would it have really taken a lot for staff to put breakfast dishes on the tables each morning instead of just standing watching guests make endless trips to the buffet area to get set up? Unknown fungus growing in fridge in our room which was rather suspect. Hairdryer fitting hanging off the wall. Did not appreciate the waite... Read more

We booked this because of the fin de siecle architecture but had no expectations beyond that. The building us beautiful and has been well restored, although is more impressive outside than in. The terrace, which doubles up as a dining area is pleasant, overlooking the swimming pool and small garden area. The owners and staff are charming and helpful, which more than makes up for the adequate but unexceptional rooms. Nothing particularly wrong with them, just a felt a bit dated in terms of decor ... Yes indeed, we enjoyed our stay at the L'Orangeraie very, very much. The hotel is a beautiful place to stay, a little hidden treasure in today's world of mass tourism with a very friendly staff. The menu is a bit limited and could do with a nice plat du jour.

We had driven past this beautiful building many times during previous visits to the area, and admired it from afar. It was a delight to be able to stay here for a few days. The room was very comfortable with an amazing panoramic view of the sea and surrounding countryside. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the late afternoon atmosphere around the pool was so relaxing, with a chilled drink and a shady sunbed! We would definitely stay here again if we come back to La Croix Valmer.

We recently held our wedding at L'Orangeraie and cannot praise the team highly enough for the level of service they gave to us, our family and friends - exceptional from beginning to end. This is a traditional French hotel and the key to its appreciation is to set your expectations accordingly - if you're looking for 5* luxury with a long list of amenities, this isn't the place for you. If you want a tranquil, picture perfect setting with kind, thoughtful staff; a beautiful pool area, convenient... Read more
