When we saw the hotel exterior, we doubted this was the hotel we booked as it did not appear anything like a 4 star hotel. Well, we thought maybe because it's an old town. No, the room matched exactly what one would expect from its exterior. At best, it should be rated 3 star hotel. So, in that aspect, the hotel was far below our expectation. No charm what so ever when everything that surrounds it is full of charm - a huge disconnect in the mood. But, for what it is, it's not too bad. It's a b... Read more

Great location in the park and near the old part of town. Walkable to the train station. The rooms were OK. One evening our non-smoking room smelled like smoke. Probably smoke was coming from a different floor. Breakfasts were nice and inexpensive.

Very well located hotel on the edge of the old town centre. Underground parking, although 13 euros, is an added plus. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, as were those at the extensive breakfast buffet. Both the bedrooms and public rooms were large. However, the bedrooms could do with some updating. The furnishings were basic, with ill-fitting cupboard doors and a not completely flat bed.

Very well located hotel at few minutes by walk from the center. Decent for breakfast. The building and the rooms are very old. Common rooms are closed during sundays. We felt disappointed by the lack of courtesy from the reception staff, but this might be subjective. Overall the hotel doesn't deserve a 4 stars.

The hotel is well situated and within walking distance of the beautiful old town and "Petite Venice". Near a park and can wander the nearby streets and see the lovely flowers and trees in bloom. The room was spacious and tea/coffee available on arrival in room. A minibar is at your disposition ($)but no safe in the room, you can leave valuables at the front desk if you want to. Free wifi in the rooms and a computer for your use in reception area. Laundry service available ($) if you leave the c... Read more

After 40 + years in the tourism and hospitality industry this hotel would have take the cake as one of the least value for money properties we have ever stayed in. Average service, average accommodation, extremely high prices for accommodation, meals and drinks and not much in return. On check in we were sent away into the rain as the room wasn't ready and when we finally checked in we found that the room was pretty average, the wifi slow and the tv didn't work. That done we tried to arrange a r... Read more

This place was terrible. The bedsheets looked dirty, the room looked dilapidated and the service was non-existent. We basically stayed here as there were no other rooms available on the day in Colmar, or at least none we could find on short notice. Even the Ibis budget was completely sold out.

We reserved this hotel through the Tourist Information Office after a late decision to stay in Colmar. It was a good choice as it allowed us to explore the center of Colmar later that day and the next morning. The location was perfect for exploring this medieval city. I was able to get night photos as the city lights up many areas after dark. Parking was located in the same building. But ti was the several employees of the hotel that we came in contact with who were very helpful and this stood o... Read more

Initial difficulty - only one man on duty at reception, and he had been called away, so that we waited 5 minutes in a deserted lobby. But when he came, he was most helpful in many ways, and booked us in to a splendid local restaurant at once. The location is fine - overlooking a park both front and rear, so quiet. The breakfast, though overrun with a bus party, was pretty good. We would be happy to return there for a further visit to this beautiful, quaint city.

Mercure Champs de Mars, as part of the Accor Group, sent us a request for feedback (as they do). My wife responded and wasn't positive. I don't think she is entirely fair, but let me start with some things she pointed out; the flowers & plants at the entrance were dead (something I didn't pay attention to, despite passing them more times than she did. But she is the one with green fingers). The bar wasn't open on Sunday, something I didn't realise bothered here because at no time on Sunday did s... Read more

lovely little town and very nice hotel. the staff are amazing and very helpful , its just a two minute walk from the town centre but far enough away to avoid the towns nightly noise, The break feast's where spot on and made a pleasant change to Cheese and Hams, there's lots to see and do in the area so defiantly worth a trip back also they have a mini statue of liberty which is quite surreal to see, think we drove round the roundabout three times trying to get a good picture LOL

This hotel is convenient and comfortable, car parking is available underground. The hotel needs to be renovated and whilst we were there for 3 nights during the day we had to put up with a loud drilling noise..in the stair well. This bothered us and we're told it would only be for one day. We had tea and coffee in the room. They have a Resturant but doesn't seem to be used at all. The breakfast was very nice but if you ask for anything extra eg omelette it is not available. Lovely park next to t... Read more

We stayed there in a group of 4 for 1 night. The location is ideal to visit the centre of Colmar on foot. Rooms and bathrooms are not modern and the lifts had an annoying jump. However, staff was friendly and breakfast buffet quite good. We did not get carpark (no room left) but street parking was not an issue.

We were recommended this hotel by a friend as a stopover on our journey to and from Tuscany. It fulfills all the requirements for an efficient, comfortable and well placed hotel for our needs. The staff were delightful and most helpful. It has a lovely park adjacent which was ideal for exercising our dog. It is a very short walk into the heart of old Colmar where there are numerous bars and restaurants. There is the option of a secure locked underground garage if required for a small fee. The pe... The hotel is undergoing renovations. The breakfast was very good. It was a ten minute walk from the station (didn't see anything closer, but it was dark). It was easy to get to Musee d'Inderlinden and Petit Venise.

The location of the Mercure Colmar Champ de Mars is convenient for sightseeing of Colmar, access by car to the Vine Route of the Alsace as well as to the train station for a day trip to Strasbourg. The hotel is located just at the edge of the old town of Colmar facing a quiet park which is excellent for a good nights sleep. The hotel itself is showing a little bit its age, but we found the room and all facilities clean and in good order.

Not the friendliest hotel. Great location but watch out for the parking - pay them 13 euros a night or risk getting in trouble with the police they say. Nice parkland out side hotel and close to town centre and nice restaurants. Rooms are old and hotel is very tired. It is very expensive for what it is and lacks character. Bar area was not staffed properly and I gave up and went out. Room was cold.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Mercure Colmar Centre Champs de Mars for 4 nights in November. We have traveled for over 40 years in France and this was one of our best hotel experiences. The staff, location, atmosphere and room were outstanding. We were especially appreciated the excellent service that Stephanie at the reception desk gave us. Location of the hotel is excellent for exploring and walking in the beautiful city of Colmar.
