We stayed here for five days of skiing, the rooms are quite large and the beds are comfortable. The owner is upgrading rooms all the time and setting the bar high. The ski lockers have boot dryers so you'll never have cold damp feet its only about 4 minutes walk from the Grand Montets cable car and gondolas, which have been updated from chairs since we were here last. Super breakfast which will fill you up for the day ahead. There is no restaurant for other meals but there are plenty good op... Read more

Never having been to Chamonix it was difficult to pick a good place to stay. I have to say that the Hotel Les Grands Montets was the best decision we could have made. The rooms were wonderful, the staff was exceptional and the amenities were fabulous. The hotel is situated right next to the Grands Montets ski area, so it is a short walk to the base tram or gondola, with several ski shops and apre-ski bars right there. You can also catch the free shuttle bus to other ski areas in the valley from ... Read more

The hotel is as charming inside as the photos of the outside depict. We had a lovely stay and were well-cared for by the staff. Our room was clean, the Wi-Fi was strong and the property is well-maintained with a nice spa area: pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam. The short walk to both the tram and gondola of Grand Montets makes this hotel an easy choice for any visit to Chamonix. We loved their included breakfast and the split level rooms are ideal for a family.

OK, I am biased!! I have been staying at the Hotel Grands Montets for many years during the winter season. My reason - it is the best 4* in the Chamonix Valley (I once researched, i.e. actually visited, every single hotel of this standard in the Valley before settling on it) If you come to ski the Valley most people will think that Chamonix town is the best place to stay â?? wrong. OK, it is a great town but unless you are near a lift you will have a long hike (in Ski Boots, etc.) and wait in ... Read more

My family of 8, (6 adults, 1 child and 1 infant) stayed at the hotel in February. Let's start with the good. The staff are very friendly. Specials thanks to Sophie (I hope I spelt her name correctly). She provided lots of information, recommended and booked restaurants, got us beer and water on the first night (we arrived at 10p.m.) when we needed them most, and most importantly, she was ALWAYS around. she didn't seem to get off work! View from the breakfast area was fantastic! Rooms are ... Read more

It is definitely should be not a 4 star hotel. Prices are too expensive. No restaurant for dinner, no air conditioning in the rooms, rooms are small, hot in summer. Personal not very friendly and know nothing about the hotel! Tried to close spa 25 min earlier. Far from the city center. Good: spa, breakfast

It's the first time I've visited a hotel was totally satisfied. Me and my fiancée stayed at Hotel Les Grands Montets for 10 days and so glad we had chosen it. We had classic room for 2, the walls were wooden and the smell was fantastic. The view on the Grand Montets was just breathtaking, so we could spend some perfect time siting on a balcony enjoying it, breathing the fresh air. The breakfast is good, the absence of dinner restaurant didn't cause us any problem, because there are a lot of ni... Read more

Lovely, lovely location - quiet, with beautiful views. The service was perfect, the staff was extremely helpful and happy for us to stop by for a drink on the terrrace. Very pricey stop for a drink, but a nice treat. The decor was beautiful, and the views incredible.

This hotel offers, above the regular things, warm swimming pool, fitness room and sauna and in-room internet. The hotel is located 10 min. From the center, close to the cable-car center. We enjoyed our stay, especially after climbing the 1000 meters from Trient to Col de Balme. Recommended!

Enjoyed two nights in a family duplex room in the summer at very end of season so not representative of normal stay in ski season. Very pleasant. Good standard with good spa and spectacular views of mont blanc it's trump card - perfectly peaceful and quiet. The room was reasonable size by french ski hotel standard. Nice robes, toiletries give it a 4* feel. There is no restaurant in the hotel just breakfast which was very good. Very close to Grands Montet lift. Plenty of good restaurants in Chamo... Read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Les Grands Montets. The hotel was excellent and our room had a view of Mt. Blanc. Breakfast was great, but what really made the stay was the excellent staff - Ann at the front desk was fantastic. She was fun to talk with and had great information on the area. Thanks Ann! We were there in September so no snow around but this would be a great place in the winter as there is a gondola right next door to the hotel.

We spent two nights here while hiking the TMB. The reservations were made by our guide company and we were very happy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming even though we arrived a bit haggard, having spent the day hiking in the sleet and rain. The hotel had inviting public areas with interesting publications about the area. We enjoyed seeing some of the vintage furniture displayed in the lobby. There was a bar which offered drinks or coffee. We were offered excellent dinner suggestions an... Read more
