3 nights here and will return some time in future. Immaculate place, very professionally run by friendly staff in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are smallish but adequate and cosy. The location is unbeatable for the mediaeval cite right on your doorstep and the pool area is a delight on a sunny day. A pleasant 15 minute walk takes you into the the main part Carcassonne, railway station and Canal du Midi for boat trips. Walk next door to huge choice of Cite restaurants for 6 euro continental ... For those wishing to visit medival carcassone, this is a well-located place. You can take a 3min walk to porte narbonnaise and you are in the town walls. They also have their own convenient parking. Our room (inc. bathroom) was quite small, probably less than 15m2. Too much colors for a too small room. The bathroom was exceptionally small: a shower, WC and 1 person lavabo. It was also extremely noisy in the very early morning as there was construction work right next door; they called us b... Read more

This is a fantastic location right next to the Cité. The rooms are great and the clean. We had some confusion over our booking. We picked Montmorency because it was much cheaper than Hotel Du Chateaux. When we booked, we also booked a room with disabled access for my parents. When we did this via booking.com it wasn't very clear that the two hotels are linked and that one of our rooms is over the road in Hotel Du Chateaux. If I was booking again, I would go for whichever room is most reason... Read more

This hotel is a perfect spot for enjoying a night in Carcassone. It is about a two-minute walk to the Cite' with lovely views right outside the door. Comfortable room and nice breakfast, and the two dogs made for smiles! I thought about staying within the walls, but think this was actually a better location for ease of getting around and more peace and quiet.

Great hotel right next to Carcassonne Castle/Cite (sister hotel to Hotel du Chateau). Lovely breakfast - great local produce. Stylish & contemporary decor; rooms are comfortable and spotless, but very low on storage. Good value for location...but bring your own toiletries!

Shares car park, pool and reception with Hotel du Chateau next door. Room was in an annexe, motel mod in style. Only real drawback was that the only fresh air was from leaving the french window open, on the ground floor, but we did anyway. High spot is view up to old city wall, and a very good fresh breakfast.

We stayed in a modern contemporary suite and our bed was extremely comfortable and the staff could not have been nicer, they allowed us check out later as our lift was delayed collecting us. The rooms are very quiet and the location is unbeatable as the Narbonne Gate is about 300 yards away. I had breakfast looking at the walls of the fortress, which were illuminated by the morning sunshine - this has to be the best breakfast location in the entire city. The hotel location means you can wander around the city later in the evening when the hordes have left and obtain an idea of what the city might have been like all those years ago - the walls are brilliantly lit at night too - wand... Our hosts were very helpful when we needed to get information regarding how strikes might affect our train reservation. The hotel has a relaxing courtyard with a nice view of the Cite', that was pleasant for breakfast and for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The pool is nicely landscaped and private. Our room was comfortable and quiet, also with a nice view of the Cite'.

Our flight was cancelled the day before we were due to leave because of strikes in France. A bit disappointing as we had taken time off work and were due to meet people and visit the venue where we are planning our wedding. Now, I appreciate this isn't the hotel's fault, however it isn't our fault either. We had hoped that given the unfortunate set of circumstances the hotel would move our reservation to another date in the future or they might suggest that if they re-sell the room then they wo... The Hotel Montmorency is right across the street from the gate into the old walled medieval city of Carcassonne, and a short taxi ride from the train station. We appreciated the friendly and helpful staff, the very comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, and the delicious, served, rather than buffet style, breakfast. The heated outdoor pool and beautifully landscaped grounds added to a very positive experience at this lovely hotel.

I've stayed here four times previously and look forward to returning to the Hotel Montmorency. Very comfortable rooms and perfectly positioned for exploring the old cite of Carcassonne. We were looking quite spontaneously for somewhere to stay for one night in Carcassonne and were lucky that the hotel Montmorency was available as this was just when the tour de france was in town and everything was packed. Two hotels seem to share some facilities, such as the reception, breakfast room and the pool. Hotel Montmorency is actually located across the street. The best part of the hotel was its location, just across the entrance of medieval city. It was very pleasant to sit outside in the evening, admiring the view. The room was quite basic and small but had the necessary facilities. The pool area was nice. Breakfast is served at the table and could have offered more variety.

A very modern split hotel very close to one of the old city gates. This hotel is very good for visiting the old Carcassonne being just a few minutes walk away. They have a swimming pool, along with a secure car park. The hotel is different in the fact that some of the rooms are in a block across the road. We were in this book and our room was very small. Along with the ensuite. But as you're only sleeping in it it doesn't matter. The bed was good but three room can do with a full length mirror.

I stayed here with my husband this weekend. I would recommend it. The hotel is adjoining the Hotel Du Chateau, and shares a reception, pool facility, and bar with it. There is a few meter walk across a road to get into the Montmorecy rooms, from the other hotel area. The rooms are very modern and spotlessly clean, and we had a great castle view. You can't beat this location - as close as you can get to the gates of Carcassonne - Brilliant!! The apartment style accommodation also very good, heaps of bedrooms and very modern. There's several reasons I haven't given it full points. 1. It was extremely hot and no airconditioning, despite it being very modernised.
