The hotel is like 3 minute walk from the railway station and even closer to the beach / coast where everything happens. The rooms are luxury, modern and spacious, are equipped with a large LCD TV and over complementary wifi internet access. The check in was convenient and the staff seems to be very friendly.

My mom and I came to Hotel Barriere for a few nights for the Cannes film festival. The hotel is very central to everything, and the bar area is a great place to people watch. Unfortunately the private beach was closed because of the festival, but we did use the spa at the sister hotel, The Majestic. We were told we were not allowed to use the pool at the sister hotel, which would have been nice because it was so sunny out! Overall good hotel, great concierge, but if it is possible I would recomm... Read more

Stayed at the Gray for several days while in Cannes recently and was amazed at the poor quality of the rooms, the food, and the overall property. The ONLY thing great about this property was the staff, and they were FANTASTIC! Possibly the best staff I have ever experienced anywhere in the world! I only hope the ownership of this hotel knows and greatly respects how impressive, professional and responsive the staff are, especially considering the poor quality of the rooms and overall lack of... The hotel is next door to the Majestic, and just off the La Croisette promenade, the Palais du Festival and the beach. It is a big modern complex, featuring a shopping arcade in the centre, an underground parking, and a garden. The lobby is spacious and there's a very nice bar. They made a total mess out of our booking - we booked a superior room, and they didn't offer to take our luggage up in the confusion. The manager was very nice and apologetic about all this, so we got a complimentary ch... Read more

This hotel was amazing. The staff was very helpful, the room was clean, and it is perfectly located. I failed to make a reservation (it was a last minute stop), and the fronts desk employee help me with my reservation and matched the price I found online. The room was clean and well appointed. An added security feature on the sliding door to the balcony was a nice touch. I am not easily impressed, but this hotel and staff made an amazing impression on me and my partner. Perhaps more ostentacious hotels on La Croisette. The location is perfect - 100 metres from the seafront and close to the harbour, old town and conference centre. Decor ,staff and service is all very high quality and yet not 'in your face annoying' - a good thing. Room was not large but space enough and TV has a huge selection of channels. Bathroom on the small side but that's not unusual in France. My one complaint / observation is that the scrambled egg at breakfast buffet is obviously powder... Read more

The hotel is just off the main promenade and is sign posted well. We arrived a little early and the room was not ready so reception said we could leave our luggage and come back a little later. On having lunch nearby, we returned and the room was ready. I must say the room was little understated compared with the reception area of the hotel. Room was clean though and had everything you could need (apart from hair conditioner). Hairdryer, robes and slippers, ironing board and iron, mini bar. ... Read more

We found a great last minute rate on the web which was much cheaper than the walk-in rate. It was quoted in dollars and the hotel honored the rate with a fair conversion. The room was great, with a king bed, and they brought in a very comfortable cot. The web reservation had said for 3 people, but there was a significant up charge to add the cot, but worth it. The concierge was very helpful, parking our car and giving us lots of dining suggestions. The location was perfect and the hotel has a pr... Read more

How does this place receive such great reviews? The building is falling to pieces, the grounds are unkept and the decor is dated and cheap! The only compliment I can make is on the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Be warned, for the premium prices you pay to stay here there are far better options in Cannes.

We were very very pleased with the stay at this hotel. It is very close to all amenities. The bed was great the breakfast was great the service was more than great. A posh but friendly place to stay. We would return. We were on the front of the hotel which was more noisy but good for watching people. The room was clean and comfortable just what you need after walking around in the town all day.

We booked this hotel (a queen sized bed with a terrace) as a treat for the last two nights of our stay in South of France. The hotel reception staff were super friendly and welcoming - which added to the experience. We were also able to store our luggage on the last day, which was perfect. Our room was also lovely - we almost lost each other in the large comfy bed - I've never slept so well! Our family visited in the heat of July, so the AC was a welcome delight. It broke down in the middle of the night, however. The concierge brought extra towels, but there was no way to change rooms without awakening our kids in the adjoining room. And the hotel didn't even suggest such a move. We arranged to move as we left in the morning for our excursion. Upon returning at lunch, only one of our two rooms was ready.
