We stayed here for one night on our way travelling through France, the location was okay walking distance into town/to the river. Room was comfortable and we had no issues. Staff were kind and helpful with showing a map of town and ordering taxis! We had a good stay here. We were travelling through as a couple, the hotel does have a business/group stay feel but this was expected.

Novotels are a very predictable product. Modern finish, clean lines, no frills; provided it all works OK, its fine. We were very pleased with the ease of the parking next door linked to the hotel - a secure multi-storey public garage, the check-in was fine and friendly. It always helps to start in French rather than bellow at the staff in English, once you've made the effort they are helpful and responsive. The room was good, foam type mattress, usual Novotel bathroom. But.....the safe did not w... Read more

The location is very good, within walking distance to the center and main square. Easy access to public transportation for longer distances. Front desk staff could not be friendlier and helpful. A perfect choice at a reasonable price.

The room has a modern, clean style. It's just enough room for a night or two, but I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time in it- it's small. The bed was kind of strange- I did not sleep very well. I can't describe what's different about the bed. The location is great!! In less than 15 minutes, you can walk to the river front and enjoy lots of different things. Great location for an overnight or weekend trip. Only one minor complaint: The only channels that speak English are 2 news channels.

Novotel Hotel was in a good location close to the city center & close to public transport i.e. Tram line. Service was great & The Executive room was very spacious. Overall a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend the Novotel as a place to stay if traveling to Birdeaux

We booked here because we had stayed in a Novotel at York unfortunately this Novotel isn't in the same league, the rooms look tired the bathroom was grim, there was a big hole in the rear of the door into our room,I had booked a superior room but this room showed no signs of being superior. We had travelled eleven hours and we were in need of a hearty meal so we went to the restaurant in the hotel after waiting 30 minutes for the waiter to come to take our order, we then ordered two soups with ... Very nice, clean room, short walk to centre ville. Good restaurant. I would stay here again because the price is so reasonable. Air conditioning didn't cool theroom well, or else it I would have given it a 5 rating.

Centrally placed hotel and suited us well for a short stay. The staff were very helpful and the only reason we would not give 5 stars is the paper cups in the rooms. Come on Novotel give us English folk a decent cup from which to drink our tea!

OK - the basics - its a Novotel - it looks and feels like every Novotel - and let's be clear I'm happy with the Novotel model - indeed I spent nearly 100 nights in Novotel's around the world last year. Where this hotel failed beyond disasterous was: 1 The room stank of smoke, really stank of smoke. And yes of course I booked a non-smoking room. 2 I asked reception to book a taxi. They said it would be 20 minutes - that still gave me plenty of time to get to my very important lunch - which was th... Read more

Executive room: Room and amenities were overhaul OK, exception to the plastic cups and drinking glasses. Still considering the nightly rate I think it is overpriced. As a Club Accor member did not feel very welcome. Staff not very friendly. Had requested prior to arrival for a possible late check-out was told they would try to accommodate my request, but needed to confirm at the reception. When I asked, the evening before check-out I was told that I had to wait for the next morning as house-kee... Read more

Stayed here for two nights. No real complaints about any aspect of the stay - the room was clean and comfortable and staff reasonably pleasant, free WiFi also worked perfectly. The hotel was a little further out-of-town than I would have liked - not what I would judge as "Centre", but these things are a matter of opinion. I would only mark this hotel as good as for what I received, the rate was excessive and there was nothing here that blew me away - it is a Novotel and I wouldn't have been abl... Read more

Stayed here as a group traveller. Hotel is in a good location and walking distance to a number of local sites. Unfortunately the room was not clean and there was a lot of mould in the bathroom. We had an in house dinner which was very poor and the buffet breakfast the following morning was only marginally better. I would not stay here again.

Location fine with excellent access to the city centre either on foot or by tram. Reception is poorly manned meaning a long wait for check in and check out but the staff spoke very passable English and were friendly and helpful. The bar closed before midnight which was a bit of a disappointment. Breakfast was adequate but was pretty much finished by 9.15. Would stay again.

First of all easy to get from the airport to the hotel. Airport shuttle takes around half an hour and drops you a few minutes walk from hotel. Price for shuttle is around â?¬2 (cheapest in europe i guess) Hotel is well located only few minutes walk from main squares and ive been welcomed by lovely receptionist, explained everything. She provide us information about city and night life too! She recommended one bar and we loved it so much! Se organised us a taxi too! I wish i remember her name a... Read more

Stayed here for a night and while it wasn't overly fancy, it was clean, quiet and safe, the three things I like most!! Bed was comfortable and wifi worked well, the toilet is in a seperate room which is good if you're sharing with people. The hotel is a few minutes walk to a shopping centre with a massive supermarket/variety store where they had so many types of cheese I was heaven!

I was here with friends for two days in late-June, during the Bordeaux Wine Festival. A nice, short 15 min drive from the airport. Modern lounge area, friendly staff and many restaurants close by. Room was comfortable with a fridge and room safe. Center of town near the river was about 20-25 min walk, and since we were tourists this was quite a walk and next time I would pick a place closer to the river. This hotel is ideal for business. No pool. Would visit again.

The hotel have all the usual benefits which come with Novotel. First day in the restaurant everything was perfect. Second day the chef had his day off. So food the second day was an experiense 3 out of 3 dishes had to go back to the kitchen because it was undercooked (raw chicken, cold burger and raw steak which should have been medium +) Restaurant staff was very nice but needed some training, but they where nice and smilling.

Not up to Novotel standards. Staff a little indifferent at times, though a male staff member was very good. Good breakfast, but restaurant fare a little ordinary. Room comfortable A little way from main city area

Stayed three nights in July to visit the city and found the Novotel to be clean and comfortable for a short stay. Check-in was a bit slow but once we reached our room we were pleasantly surprised. The room was large with a massive bed and all the facilities we needed including efficient and quiet aircon which was a bonus as it was 38 degrees outside! The bathroom was basic but clean and functional, although the shower was a bit erratic fluctuating hot/cold every few seconds. Breakfast was th... Read more

My daughter and I stayed for three nights during the World Cup soccer tournament. Bordeaux was heavily booked with tourists and many of the smaller hotels in the centre of the city were booked. Ordinarily I prefer more Frenchified hotels, but I ended up at this one due to the crowds. This hotel is located a little to the end of the city, despite its name. It is a good fifteen minute walk to the centre, or the easier option is to learn the tram system to get around a bit quicker. There is a tram ... Read more

Had to stay in the hotel for family commitments. Location works well with a shopping centre and Auchan not far, room and service was ok. There were quite a lot of people in the hotel during the stay (There was a Tennis tournament) making things a bit crowded during our stay.

I recommend this hotel. We stayed there with my family in a suite where they have a double sofa bed. Beds are clean and confortable Parking is in the hotel and they give you a discount. Good breakfast. Staff quite nice and resourceful Room really confortable with closed door wc and bathroom. So this room can be fit for friends traveling together but still need some intimacy. Also very close to the center and the trams. Great great value

Hotel is situated within 800m of St Andre Cathedral and then from there you can meander into the older part of town with its many squares and many many restaurants and cafes. Hotel was welcoming, rooms are quiet and clean with all main facilities. There is dining area for breakfast or evening food plus a bar open until midnight. Parking is easy for a fee under the hotel. Staff helpful and keen to serve. Ideal for a base to explore city and surrounding countryside.
