I stayed here for 4 nights as I was attending a conference at the local Palais des Congrés centre. It's an area that's very handy if you're there for a meeting but it's a bit soulless otherwise. That said the tram only take about 25 minutes to get into the centre of town and a ticket isn't expensive. The hotel itself was fine. The room was comfortable and clean. They gave you complimentary water every day which was a welcome touch. The breakfast was pretty good - we didn't have an evening me... Read more

We stayed in the weekend and the hotel is "empty", restaurant even closed. But service is up to standard. There are many restaurants at walking distance. We had a a car and the location near the rocade and a few minutes drive from the city centre, the cité du vin also, was perfect for us. Breakfast is up to this hotel's standard as well, which means excellent quality and choice. Rooms and beds are very comfortable. You can see the chain made an effort in terms of decoration both in the rooms an... Read more

Very upset with our stay here. We were plagued with mosquitos in our room which usually I would never complain about or write a review on here about as I know it's not normally the hotels fault. However after being bitten horrendously and up the majority of the night then counting over 15 in your room you know there is a problem. I decided to email the hotel in the morning as we were so disappointed with lack of sleep and sore bites everywhere. We didn't receive a response back so when we went t... Read more

A pleasant hotel, renovated rooms, good breakfast with great coffee and croissants . Beautiful surroundings with a swimming pool and terrace around the pool . The only remark is not heated water in the pool , we were in June, the day was hot, but it was almost impossible to swim in cold water. The hotel has a flat roof and should not be a problem to make additional heating water with solar energy ?!

A good bed and an okay room although we were bitten to death by mosquitoes overnight - windows closed, air con on full blast - but completely ineffective! Friday night in summer and a large hotel restaurant in the gourmet city of Bordeaux? Guess what - "restaurant ferme". Seemingly it's a 50/50 chance of a Mercure restaurant being open nowadays, they used to be decent but now just aren't very good and terrible value - there is a McD 100yds down the road if desperate. Breakfast as often the case ... Read more

We like a Mercure - we know what we are getting. A privilege room always offers dressing gowns , slippers, good coffee, but in France .... not English tea. We were given a voucher for a welcome drink - Thankyou . In my head this hotel overlooked La Lac , I could not have been more wrong. The pool and outdoor space were good. Lots of kids, I presume children's offers. Good access to city centre via tram. Thankyou

Very nice rooms, dinner was fantastic. Bordeaux sur lac looks a lot like an American resort with many hotels and restaurants. It's about 15 minutes from Bordeaux by car. It's cheaper to stay there than in Bordeaux.

Excellent modern clean hotel. Thoroughly recommended for families and couples. Perfectly located near to trams and motorway and some eateries. The pool was spotless and the staff very helpful. A great place for a trip to the Gironde.

Friendly welcome by receptionist who advised us where to eat due to restaurant being closed on sundays. Italian, grills and mcdonalds within close walking distance. Large clean bright entrance, large bedroom, spacious bathroom with great shower. Outdoor pool with lots of seating areas to enjoy a drink. Breakfast an extra 9 euros but lots of choice, hot or cold available. Car parking on site at no extra cost. A definite recommendation.

The hotel is reasonable, booking process is easy, rooms are okay, however the restaurant is mediocre and the staff are are not attentive and seem to be more interested in chatting amongst themselves rather than looking after customers. Use the tram to go into the city cheap, 1.50 Euros buy your tickets at the automated machine at the tram stop.
