Renaissance hotel in Aix is a lovely modern hotel close to the city centre. The hotel has clean modern rooms and cozy gymnasium. We did not try the pool or the spa. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the cours maribue (the city Center) and situated very close to university. The only disappointing feature of the hotel was paid parking. Hotel charges guests to pay 20 euros for parking. But there is ample street parking available in front of the hotel. So for 3 days we stayed there - we were easily ab... Read more

Stayed one night only & while the room was spacious & huge bed very comfy not sure I would want to stay again. The decor wasn't welcoming & the furniture too modern & not very comfortable. Bathroom was great with walk-in shower, robes & slippers. Large tv but if you want more than 1 tea or coffee each or even more than one milk each bring your own, the tray was stocked with the bare minimum somewhat incongruous in a luxury hotel. B'fast was splendid, staff friendly & helpful & at reception thei... Read more

Stayed here on business - hotel is very central and only a short walk from the old town. This is a contemporary hotel, with very pleasant entrance and gorgeous big rooms. The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming - with the concierge being very helpful (recommended a great restaurant for local cuisine).

A 5 Star recent addition to the Aix scene. An easy 10 mins walk to the Cours Mirabeau and the Old Town where the vast array of dining and thirst quenching establishments await. 25 mins from MP Airport so a great base location for the area. These attributes also make the Renaissance a great location for a leisure break away from business.Either way, the mobile phone signal is strong for the social networks and the Hotel's free WiFi is strong throughout. At the last minute I changed my room reservation to this hotel from L'Hotel de France, because I was reading that they were having issues with the AC, and I didn't want to have problems if it was going to be hot out. I figured since this hotel is pretty new and part of an American chain I might have more luck here. As it turned out, it wasn't that warm when we visited so I can't say whether or not the AC is an issue. What I can say is that we were given a pretty large room that was furnishe... Read more

While lacking in local charm and architecture, it is a good business (and vacation??) hotel with excellent amenities. They have a pool and a gym, as well as a spa (by appointment). For those who can't live without Starbucks, there is one in the lobby. The breakfast is excellent -- made to order, or self-serve buffet, with fruit, smoked salmon, a host of breads and great coffee (from pods, but they have warmed milk in a thermos). I would recommend a garden view room, if you have sensitive ea... Read more

The best part is the hotel is the outstanding customer service and friendliness of the staff`! They will go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. We checked in for one night as it was the mid point back to Barcelona. Right after check out , we noticed a flat tire. We had five guys work on not only on changing the tire but to also help us negotiate a new car with our rental company for three hours. The bellmen and concierge were amazing. Who does that any more? So incredible. Unfortunately, nothing worked out and we drove 300 miles on a donut to avoid being stranded (let's just say the rental company was horrible and leave it at that). To ... Read more

Must have been visiting at the wrong time. The hotel is vey modern and like being in an art gallery. Best part the pool but despite its short age evidence of rusting on fixtures. The Staff we encountered in the dining rooms had no smiles. The food was very mediocre and not enough for the group. We were a group of would be river cruisers who had to transfer because there was no cruising on the river. Admittingly we were a group of 75 or so but they should have been better prepared to cater for us... Read more

This hotel was opended three years ago and i have stayed here twice. It is an easy to reach hotel located about 300m from the famous fountain but on the outside of the center and very close to the busstation but parking is available for those who still dare to travel by car. Inside you Will discover Nice rooms and superbe bathrooms . Security is top , facilities such as pool, garden, spa, hamam are available for free. This hotel has a very good location close to the old town and main shopping street. Facility is new and comfortable. The service and staff is not as good as we we have used to know from other Marriott hotels. We went to the city for 4 hours and the room was not cleaned. This is a very comfortable, really good business type hotel (with great beds) near but not in the center of Aix. It lacks any of the charm of Aix itself, but makes up for it with its comfort, ease and very good large rooms. Don't go for romance, but if one want modern comforts and professionalism it is worth it. At ?26, the breakfast buffet is of questionable value.

Hotel is very well located, 5m walk from the Cours Mirambue, the most touristic street of the city. Service is great as well and staff always helpful and speaks a good English. Everything is done with a lot of professionalism. At the same time, the hotel is "cold", lacks energy and vibe. Stayed with friends at the hotel for three nights during the UEFA European Cup. The hotel itself is very nice and clean. The check in was a breeze and our room was of decent size. The room had a comfortable bed, a decent TV and a good bathroom. The national football team of Ukrania was staying with us which limited a good portion of the hotel which was a shame. We were unable to use much of the facilites due to that. The service at the bar is extremely slow.
