nice room, good service from reception, good location and good Resteraunt. had a lovely meal there with sizzling steak on a hot stone platter, oh and the wild deer starter was lovely with the rhubarb.... however we fell into the bar one night and asked for some calvados... 4 glasses (doubles) cost 92 euros! needless to say we didn't drink that again! beer was cheap enough though..

I booked the room via email and just mentioned that is for my boyfriends birthday. The receptionists when we got there was very helpful and friendly, we somehow got a better room than I had even booked and it looked amazing, plus it was even decorated with roses etc. Truly a pleasant welcoming. Only small thing was that the computer in our upgraded room did not work, but we did not need it, so it was fine anyways. The room was very clean, the bed was the most comfortable. The breakfast was more... Read more

Beautiful, nice hotel in the center of the city, near to all main attractions and old town. Clean and quiet. Good breakfast. There is a computer and wifi in the room. They gave us a free upgrade to ZEN suite.

Lovely hotel with good service. Private party in court yard not so good for the good night sleep, but hotel staff compensated it in the room price. Nicely done! Treatments in a spa excellent! Recommended

Visited with family, two adults and two small kids. Room was nice equipped with jacuzzi. Hotel had spa which was actually sauna and small pool and treatments, nice thou, ok price. Only disappoiment was the restaurant, you could order only from partial menu and the food was not so good compared to price. Service in hotel is really good, atmosphere excellent. There was also secured parking place for the car at the back of the hotel.

Von Stackelberg is nicely designed and well maintained. It is located very close to the Old Town - just a few minutes walk. Rooms are of good size, beds are comfortable. I have stayed there several times during last years - each time in a different room, but all where fine. Each room had a desk, suitable for work, and Internet (good speed) was available throughout the hotel. Breakfast is quite good, you start with a smoothie and staff offers you a freshly brewed coffee or tea. The hotel has ... Read more

We decided to revisit Tallin in more clement times following a winter visit some years ago. We opted for the deluxe room that worked out at approx £127 per night b&b. The room was impressive with a very comfortable bed as well as a small sauna in the room. The choice of channels on the TVs was very limited with only one English speaking channel. The coffee maker in the room was not working, it was replaced when we mentioned it, but disappointing that this was not already picked up by the staff.... Read more

I booked this hotel because it looked nice and the price was good for one night stay in Tallinn. Unfortunately we were given the room number 107 and it was on the ground floor and the only thing we could see from the window was terrible noisy road with lots of cars. The hotel was nice and clean but due to this road & noisy cars we could´t sleep at all. I can´t recommend this hotel unless you are a good sleeper! A pretty nice option for a weekend for a tourist. The hotel has several venues for different budgets. It's a bit distant from the Old Town. I would recommend this for couples and those who'd like to try spa. The pillows were soft and comfy, and I appreciate this fact a lot in the hotels. We found the service quite good despite chambermaid's coming without knocking the door. Fortunately, it was the day of our departure and we were ready to leave.

Fully enjoyed my time at the hotel, the few members of staff I had dealings with were very pleasant and helpful. My Zen Room was fairly spacious and clean, one of the lights was out in the bathroom, I mentioned this to the reception and it was sorted the next time I entered my room. My only niggle was that the curtains and blinds leave a gap in the middle, I had to improvise and hang a towel on the rail. As there is pretty much daylight for 24 hours at the moment it is the only way of darkening ... Read more

A 10min walking distance to main square, but as you anyway likely want to walk around that is ok. Nice old stone building, our garden facing room was super quiet. We had the Zen room which was nice because it was quite large. Breakfast was very very average and a bit of a disappointment. Staff was helpful (even if we were given a double room instead of twin which we asked) and spa was great!

I have stayed in this hotel twice and simply love it. First time we stayed at the Zen Deluxe room which was very spacious with leather sofa and arm chairs, second time we stayed in Zen room which was nice as well but smaller of course and not all the treats that Deluxe room has. Both rooms have their own jacuzzi and the bed is one of the best I've ever slept in hotels! Hotel has Japanese spa with sauna and pool (jacuzzi as well) and also spa where one can treat oneself, Breakfast is good and tas... Read more

We spent one night on this wonderful hotel with our daughter and her friend. They had regular room and we enjoyed zen deluxe room. Both rooms were really beautiful and nice. Out room was much bigger and had a big bathroom with quite big bathtube. Overall the hotel is very cosy with distinguished style. We had lunch on the nice atrium and enjoyed the food.

I would highly recommend this charming spa hotel located 10 minutes from Tallinn's old town for a long weekend away. Our room was classy in style, while retaining some nice homely touches and the spa area was modern, clean and well-maintained. The staff were always friendly and helpful with any questions. We felt completely at ease over the course of our entire stay at the von Stackelberg and would happily stay here again.

Overall our stay was very nice at the hotel. Staff is extremely helpful and decoration is very pretty. I was on vacation with my boyfriend and we would have wanted to have a bathtub in our room, which was a little disappointing. The hotel was fully booked so there was nothing the staff could have do to us. Otherwise we enjoyed the room. I would recommend the hotel for couples.

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend. The location was perfect, close to the old town with all the restaurants and bars. The room (standard) was small but clean and the service was good. Unfortunately I found it overpriced (80?/night) concidering the prices I paid before, still stayed here, because the alternatives were even more expensive. I can recommend this hotel and would stay again. I hope the prices will get more realistic in Tallinn again.

Stayed in this hotel for 6 of the best nights ever had in a hotel! The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel itself was beautiful, clean and stunning. The food was great especially the breakfast which offered both a cooked and a continental breakfast with lots to chose from. The fruit shots were a fantastic idea too. We also had with our room price 1 1/2 hours in the zen spa which offered a sauna room and jacuzzi hot bath which we had to ourselves on the Tuesday afternoon which was... Read more

If you're looking for a quality stay away from the noisy tourist masses of Tallinn's old town, go for von Stackelberg. It's at a walking distance from both Telliskivi and the old town, just next to Toompea and Pikk Hermann. The building is very charming with old stone walls and charming window "benches". We stayed for two nights, and didn't (yet) have the time to test the spa services, but loved the rooms and service. We took a taxi from the harbour to the hotel, but walked with our luggage thro... I arrived by train and hotel was very close to the station, that's very comfortable. I've booked a Zen room and called to the hotel with some requirements to the room: provide me the lightest, biggest room they have, with bigger windows... but when I came to my room it was smaller than I requested and there was only one window and half of the room was just wall ... it means dark. Great location a 10 minute pleasant walk on the edge of a park to get to the old town.. I preferred staying just outside the old town. Hotel spotless. Staff especially Helen (fluent in Engllish from working in east midlands) was very helpful with transport, places to go and general information. Rooms were very comfortable I could not hear the people next door - great. Breakfast very nice and varied. Spotlessly clean. I would definitely stay here again. Good value.

The japanese kabuki at the spa (I think it should be called ofuro if it refers to a japanese hot pool) was a disappointment. For me it was a basic sauna and jacuzzi, nothing to do with a real japasene hot pool. And that was the reason why we at the first place took a room here. The staff at the reception was very friendly, points to her. Breakfast didnt go that well, there was a long queue, we had to wait. Stayed at this hotel over the weekend. From the outside it doesn't look much but when you enter the hotel it is brilliant. The room was great, clean and fresh towels every day. The buffet breakfast was lovely with a good choice. The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is superb, right at the foot of Toompea Hill and right below the Castle. once you find your bearings you are literally 5 minutes from the Old Town and all its delights and restaurants.

Booked this hotel as a birthday treat and what a treat it is too. An old former Barons Estate, the hotel is rather nondescript externally, but on entering, the wow factor hits you. Amazing. The staff are very friendly, the cleanliness is second to none, and the rooms are ferry nicely furnished, and the bare rustic brick wall around the window add to the ambience. Definitely worth a stay and so close to everything Tallinn has to offer. Do not look to stay anywhere else. Put this top of the wish l... Read more

A fantastic hotel! Great service from start to finish. The rooms are clean, warm and spacious, the staff are fantastic and the location is just a 5 minute (max) walk from the old town. Just returned from a great mini-break to Tallinn and stayed at the Von Stackelberg. We had 2zen rooms - a double for my husband and I and a twin for our teenage daughters. The rooms are immaculate and spacious with a jacuzzi bath. Free wifi. Breakfast was fine but could have been hotter. Treated ourselves to a spa day with treatments which was great. I don't know if it was the late arrival or what but we ended up having the smallest hotel room I have ever seen. We were looking forward to the trip and when you spent about 100 euros a night I was expecting at least a normal size room as other Tallinn hotels in that price range have been good value. The building itself is nice and breakfast ok, the coffee that us served to the table was really good. I came to Tallinn in the spring of this year to find a venue for our conference. After viewing 10 hotels I found the von Stackelberg on my last day. It was perfect. I booked 30 rooms (& 11 in their sister hotel Kreutzwald) along with the carriage house and 3 small meeting rooms. During the build up to our arrival we had great communication and even though I was organising this from London I felt happy and confident that the preparations were in good hands. Located in a quieter part of Tallinn, just on the edge of the old town, the hotel has many redeeming features and is well appointed. Staff were relatively helpful, breakfast good, but the room allocated was absolutely tiny, perhaps due to a late check-in. AV facilities weren't exactly great either. It seems that if you're not after a zen or zen deluxe room then you're bottom of the pile.

If you prefer to stay outside but very close to Old Town this is a decent choice with views to Toompea Hill and the surrounding park, 5 min walk to Old Town. Quiet room facing backyard. Rooms facing the street got park view but also noise from traffic. Strange smell in room, mouldy? Room small, OK, not particulary cosy but comfortable with roller blinds, safe and heated floor in bathroom. Breakfast served in the elegant restaurant in basement, OK quality, attentive service.
