Having arranged to meet our Finnish family in Tallinn we chose the Hotel Telegraaf which proved to be an excellent venue for all ages - service was friendly and efficient, reception could not have been more helpful and food was delicious. The courtyard garden was a delight for those who wished to relax and enjoy a peaceful drink in the sun whilst the hotel pool wad appreciated by the young.

First time visitors to Tallinn may be wary in choosing the right hotel, especially knowing there are little chain hotels to choose from. If you find the opportunity to stay here, it is an absolute must in every aspect. The hotel even contacted me via email before arrival to ensure that all is in order. They go to great lengths and its truly felt. It is also the destination for serious business travelers to Estonia and that reputation can also help your interests in Tallinn.

Beautuful location, old town, silent. Comfortable SPA. Very professional staff. Tchaikovsky was extra emotion - breakfast and dinner too. Our Asian guests got from reception the best recommendations how to spend their holiday in Tallinn.

Stayed there for 2 nights. Nice hotel with good location inside the old town. Rooms are large and well equipped. Wifi is quite fast though we have to log in every time when we turn on the device. Service is good and lived up to it's 5 stars. We tried the restaurant Tchaikovsky for dinner and the food is great and relatively inexpensive. Breakfast was included in the same restaurant.

Nice and clean, very friendly staff and good breakfast buffet. Close to center of the old town. Combination of contemporary and old style phones is very unusual. Rooms are very comfortable and nice heated bathroom floor.

Pricy but brilliant location just in the middle of the old town. Rooms are quite small, but practical, clean and the bed comes with a pillow menu! Decent choice of healthy breakfast. Nice swimmingpool.

I stayed very briefly at this hotel as I was on a quick business trip to Tallin but wanted to see a bit of the old town. The hotel is great, friendly staff, nice rooms, interesting features from its history as the post and telegraph office. Also good as you can walk out into the old town and take in some great restaurants serving moose and wild boer. There are other hotels closer to the airport but unless you are straight in and out then take a chance and spend the 10 Euros on the taxi ride.

We had booked a different hotel and were moved due to construction. This turned out to be a great place for our weekend in Tallinn. The only serious drawback is that they do not have blackout curtains...which for a hotel this far north detracts from the sleep quality!

This is an amazing hotel. I traveled here with my husband who was in Estonia for business. It has a quiet elegance that draws you in. The hotel is immaculate. Staff is so warm and accommodating. Best part of this hotel is that it is centrally located in the charming Old Town, but close enough for the downtown city. The breakfast provided by the hotel had traditional Estonian fare, which by the way is usually gluten free. You wouldn't go hungry with this breakfast buffet. The staff especially Ale... Read more

Nice hotel in the middle to everything in Tallinn Old Town. Love it. The bathroom was a bit tiny relative to the size of the Junior Suite that we stayed in. Would highly recommend it and come back next time we are in Tallinn.

Historic and refurbished building. Steps away from town square and all of the sights. Walk to many restaurants and attractions. 500 meters from the sea. Wifi free and fast. No gym ! No blackout curtains? Rooms are small and could be better cleaned. My king bed was in fact two twins pushed together with separate duvets. This is a very good hotel for tourists on short stay. Business travellers would probably prefer a more modern and western hotel. Compliments to Valeria at reception. The staff... Read more

Expecting 5 star luxury we were very disappointed with the Telegraaf. On arrival our room had no bath towels or face cloths. The towels arrived when requested. No clock in our room which was a curious mixture of modern and mock 'Victorian'' styles. No tea / coffee making facilities in the room 'due to pending regulations' according to management. The floor in the restaurant was badly in need of cleaning and re-polishing. The glass throughout the hotel need cleaning, the mirror in our bath... Read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day stay in the Hotel Telegraaf. Fantastic location in the old town (but still amazingly quiet at night), friendly service by all team members we have met during our stay, very confortable and beautifully appointed rooms (and very clean - the Housekeeping Department does a very good job in this hotel - everywhere we were, bar, breakfast room, pool area, hammam, sauna, public areas.. it was spotless!), a delicious breakfast buffet - we just missed a bit more seasonal f... The pampering began as my cousin and I gathered our luggage at the Tallinn airport and were then met by a driver who had my name neatly typed on a sign. We rode in a luxury car to the hotel, which is located in the charming Medieval Historic Centre. The Hotel Telegraaf is housed in a building that was constructed in 1878, and was once a telegraaf and postal office. It is the epitome of elegance. Our room was a suite, with a window that opened to afford the view of a charming courtyard. Th... Read more

Our stay here was near perfect to winding down a 3 country tour. We had a superior grade room on third floor. It was a nice as we've had traveling without any confusing faucets or dials to deal with. The tub was high like most Euro hotels but what would assist if you must make that first step while wet is a grab bar or two. I've noticed this issue in nearly all Euro hotels. As I've said before, how do travel seniors manage these? Our room was spotless clean and well appointed. As in other revie... Read more

Rooms look tired. Bathroom not clean. Breakfast menu was poor. The service was excellent. The location is very good. Perhaps it is time to invest in the hotel to make the rooms look fresh. Also, the interior design solution of thr rooms does not lok tasty nowadays.

Having stayed before on business I decided to use the hotel again as it centrally located and has pleasant amenities. On this trip I arrived around Noon and appreciated that I was early to check in as the check in policy is after 4pm. I was therefore surprised that other guests (2 separate reservations) were able to check in and I wasn't, however I left my bag at the hotel and went out for a lunch meeting. On finishing the meeting I returned to the hotel and was still unable to check in even th... Read more

Beautiful old hotel, completely renovated--has an old and new part. We stayed in the old part. Fantastic dining room and outdoor "garden" in which to eat or have drinks and smoke (even smoke a cigar) late at night--with the midnight sun in summertime. Full service. Located in the old city-- which fits. By 1st world countries, the price is very reasonable for such a high quality hotel. Has a nice spa which we did not use but looked at. Fantastic breakfast. Hotel Telegraaf is located in Taliin's Old Town. It is a charming hotel run by a fine-tuned staff. Regina at the front desk was a delight; friendly and helpful! Mike, the bellhop/Jack of all trades was wonderful. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent. The room is striking.

Room was clean, friendly staff, great breakfast, awesome coffee, lovely outdoor lounge and dining area. The treatments at the spa was good, only too bad guests at the spa did not consider other people there as well as there were some loud talking and laughing going on. Would think a spa visit was going to be relaxing.

Location of the hotel was really good. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was far from what other 5* hotels typically offer. Also the breakfast room is small and people may have to wait to be seated. The staff at breakfast was slow and we have to wait for a long time to get for example coffee. Service does not live up to the standards ylu might expect.

Hotel Telegraaf has a lot to recommend it: a great location in the heart of Old Town Tallinn, double glass windows to block out the continuous noise of Old Town Tallinn, genuinely warm and helpful staff, and a facility that seamlessly blends the old and new. That said, I agree with the many other comments that the breakfast service is deficient. While the food was good and the selection vast, patrons have to wait an inordinate time to be seated, dirty tables are not cleaned, utensils are perp... Read more

The hotel is in a lovely street where there are plenty of good restaurants, much more pleasant to sit and relax at than those in the Town Square, which is however literally around the corner. We were in the 'old' part of the hotel, and don't know what the modern rooms were like. The room was traditionally furnished and a little small. We ended up putting one suitcase on top of the armchair as there seemed nowhere else for it to go. The bathroom was modern and spacious. Nice Elemis toiletries, ... Read more

Tallinn's old town is not to be missed! Could not have had more friendly and helpful staff at this conveniently located hotel. Room was comfortable with all amenities but coffee/tea service, because of local fire regulations. In old town just steps from the main square, making the many historical sites, shopping and restaurants easy to get to. Delicious and ample breakfast buffet each morning, and a lovely spa with a fantastic masseuse (best deep tissue massage I've had in awhile!). Hotel restau... Read more

Sometimes with historic hotels you find that they haven't been fully modernized to today's standards (hot water, ac, lighting). Not to worry at the Telegraaf, all the luxuries of a 5 star hotel await you. There are a wide range of rooms to choose from, the beds and linens are good, the breakfast room and food were excellent. The front counter staff also did a very good job accommodating our needs even with a very full hotel. And best is that you can walk out your door to explore the old stre... Read more

The Telegraaf Hotel in the old PTT building is centrally located in Tallinn's old town. Smallish but nicely furnished rooms, excellent service, and good selection in the buffet breakfast. The Tchaikovsky restaurant has five-star food and a trio playing the composer's music. This can be a plus or minus depending on tastes. Good, well-priced wine selection. Lobster ravioli made in a modern, deconstructionist style was excellent. Cost of three courses plus wine was 55 euros per person.

Me and my fiancee stayed here for two nights and found our room charming and of high class in every detail. This time our superior room was not as large as during our previous stay, neither was the bed of king size, but we still enjoyed it to the full.
