Having arranged to meet our Finnish family in Tallinn we chose the Hotel Telegraaf which proved to be an excellent venue for all ages - service was friendly and efficient, reception could not have been more helpful and food was delicious. The courtyard garden was a delight for those who wished to relax and enjoy a peaceful drink in the sun whilst the hotel pool wad appreciated by the young.

First time visitors to Tallinn may be wary in choosing the right hotel, especially knowing there are little chain hotels to choose from. If you find the opportunity to stay here, it is an absolute must in every aspect. The hotel even contacted me via email before arrival to ensure that all is in order. They go to great lengths and its truly felt. It is also the destination for serious business travelers to Estonia and that reputation can also help your interests in Tallinn.

Stayed there for 2 nights. Nice hotel with good location inside the old town. Rooms are large and well equipped. Wifi is quite fast though we have to log in every time when we turn on the device. Service is good and lived up to it's 5 stars. We tried the restaurant Tchaikovsky for dinner and the food is great and relatively inexpensive. Breakfast was included in the same restaurant.

I stayed very briefly at this hotel as I was on a quick business trip to Tallin but wanted to see a bit of the old town. The hotel is great, friendly staff, nice rooms, interesting features from its history as the post and telegraph office. Also good as you can walk out into the old town and take in some great restaurants serving moose and wild boer. There are other hotels closer to the airport but unless you are straight in and out then take a chance and spend the 10 Euros on the taxi ride.

We had booked a different hotel and were moved due to construction. This turned out to be a great place for our weekend in Tallinn. The only serious drawback is that they do not have blackout curtains...which for a hotel this far north detracts from the sleep quality!

This is an amazing hotel. I traveled here with my husband who was in Estonia for business. It has a quiet elegance that draws you in. The hotel is immaculate. Staff is so warm and accommodating. Best part of this hotel is that it is centrally located in the charming Old Town, but close enough for the downtown city. The breakfast provided by the hotel had traditional Estonian fare, which by the way is usually gluten free. You wouldn't go hungry with this breakfast buffet. The staff especially Ale... Read more

Historic and refurbished building. Steps away from town square and all of the sights. Walk to many restaurants and attractions. 500 meters from the sea. Wifi free and fast. No gym ! No blackout curtains? Rooms are small and could be better cleaned. My king bed was in fact two twins pushed together with separate duvets. This is a very good hotel for tourists on short stay. Business travellers would probably prefer a more modern and western hotel. Compliments to Valeria at reception. The staff... Read more

Expecting 5 star luxury we were very disappointed with the Telegraaf. On arrival our room had no bath towels or face cloths. The towels arrived when requested. No clock in our room which was a curious mixture of modern and mock 'Victorian'' styles. No tea / coffee making facilities in the room 'due to pending regulations' according to management. The floor in the restaurant was badly in need of cleaning and re-polishing. The glass throughout the hotel need cleaning, the mirror in our bath... Read more

Our stay here was near perfect to winding down a 3 country tour. We had a superior grade room on third floor. It was a nice as we've had traveling without any confusing faucets or dials to deal with. The tub was high like most Euro hotels but what would assist if you must make that first step while wet is a grab bar or two. I've noticed this issue in nearly all Euro hotels. The Telegraaf Hotel in the old PTT building is centrally located in Tallinn's old town. Smallish but nicely furnished rooms, excellent service, and good selection in the buffet breakfast. The Tchaikovsky restaurant has five-star food and a trio playing the composer's music. This can be a plus or minus depending on tastes. Good, well-priced wine selection. Had a lovely stay here recently. Fantastic location in the old town. Great food. Lovely spa area to relax after a days walking the city sights. Very comfortable bed. Had great sleep every night. Only downside was tiny room with very restrictive moving space with awful view onto window roof of restaurant from both bedroom and ensuite. Also ensuite room was looking into another guest room. Had to keep blinds closed on both windows for privacy. Complained straight away but no budge from staff. We h... Read more

Missed the boat to Helsinki and needed a hotel. Someone recommended us this hotel and it was perfect. In the heart of old town. The hotel staff was very polite and smilingly friendly. You felt very welcome there. The room was not only clean, but extremely clean. Next time need a hotel in Tallinn I know where to go.

Helpful, friendly and accommodating staff at this beautiful hotel in the old town. I would highly recommend it. The rooms are large, and with nice views, and the beds are comfortable. A great stop in Tallinn

Telegraaf is a modern hotel, in the heart of Tallinn's lovely old-town, masquerading as a 100-year step back in time. Telephones are old-fashioned hand-crank phones, but they have modern push-button dialing. The service is excellent; the concierge never steered us wrong. And the Tchaikovski restaurant is superb (with excellent Oscetra caviar, I might add). If you have the budget for it, ask for a corner suite. They're particularly lovely.

We stayed here on our final night in Estonia. Receptionist was very, very quiet and did a basic check in but didn't explain any hotel facilities or the local area. Also didn't check that the room booked was per our expectations. Hotel was clean but lacked soul and atmosphere. Room was comfortable but not remarkable and could have been anywhere in the world. Need to up their game to be a luxury experience.

Been there for a two night business trip. The hotel is ideally located in the old city center. Had a nice room in the old part of the building, which nevertheless was quiet. The staff was very attentive, especially the hotel manager. Alas, I did not habe time to try the restaurant or the spa.

This hotel was relatively pricey but we were very pleased to be staying there. It is located in the old town, only a couple of minutes' walk to the Town Square. The English-speaking staff were friendly and helpful, even arranging a kettle to be brought to my room. I love the "service cupboards" to and from which staff can deliver or take things, without disturbing guests. There are lovely lounge spaces around the lobby, the Wi-Fi was excellent and the breakfast was amazing.

A truly beautiful town and the hotel could not have been better located to see and enjoy the beauties that this Baltic town has to offer. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were beautifully appointed and the fine dining experience in Tchaikovsky restaurant is one of the highlights of the trip.

Hotel Telegraaf is a lovely hotel in an excellent location in the old town. The room was on the small size, but the service made up for that in a big way. The lovely young ladies at the front desk helped me make ferry reservations to Helsinki and although that sounds quite simple, it was far from it. It took a far amount of time, phone calls and even trying to do it on line but it was done, all with smiles. The manager stopped by during this time and was so friendly and recommended a tour of... My husband really enjoyed staying at this classy historical hotel. Our room was ready when we arrived. It was contemporary with all the amenities. The hotel has a really nice spa area and indoor jacuzzi/ pool which we took advantage of one morning before heading out for the day. It also has a fabulous breakfast buffet with champagne in a very elegant setting. The location was great too, close to everything. The staff was very help with restaurant reservations and recommendations. I highly recom... Read more

It's difficult to fault this Hotel in any way. In particular, the level of personalised customer service and attention to detail provided by Hotel staff was exemplary. The location in one of the main streets of old town Tallinn was great for tourists like ourselves. Our executive room was a good size, tastefully furnished with a very comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. Our room faced the rear courtyard of the Hotel, meaning it was always quiet. We stayed 3 nights and dined in the Hotel ... Read more
