Well placed if you want to be downtown and great if you're coming in on the train or bus to Tahrir but always remember that you get what you pay for in a city centre. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom functions but this isn't a fancy place to stay and the down town noise can take a couple of nights to get used to. However, the staff are nice, and helpful, even if two porters did nearly come to blows over who would carry our cases, and the old fashioned charm of the lifts, the facade etc... Read more

The only thing good with this place is the location. Its to noisy to sleep there, the rooms are ugly. The place needs new management and new crew. Nobody there has a clue in how to treat a costumer. Staying at Grand Hotel is a unpleasant experience and the hostile and unfriendly staff makes you feel that you are not welcome.

I'm from Alexandria, when I travel locally for business to Cairo I usually stay in Grand Hotel, its cheap and has good hygiene standers, people there are so helpful, food is not that good, actually I take my meals in any near restaurants. The perfect thing is its location in the heart of Cairo.
