We are having a magical time in Egypt, and the Marriott is a wonderful jewel. First, it's cheap compared to most of the world, but has everything you need and is perfectly clean and nice. Second, the staff is massive and 100% helpful and kind. The entire town is wonderful. Don't let the naysayers and fear mongering disuade you. It is safer here than most countries and they are wonderful warm and kind. Even our taxi driver charged us $.65 for a trip that would in NY be $20. A few stand outs, w... Read more

I have been to this hotel several times and In every visit I would leave very happy but this visit was different. The hotel once a remarkable venue, today is old, outdated and neglected. Staff are not professional, quality of amenities and the level of cleanliness is below average. Everyone is pushing you to tip them, no one wants to serve, feels like you are visiting one of those touristic streets. All in all this once great palace has seen the last of its good days... Former palace of the King, I have been told. The original building has been completely build in by new hotelstructures around a park with swimming pool. You can in some parts smell the old grandeur of the palace.Different restaurants to chose from and a shopping arcade. Nice to sit outside for breakfast, lunch or dinner. rooms are spacious and good. Everything can be found at that complex and no need to go out in the horrendous Cairo traffic.Being centrally located the hotel is not cheap, be awa... Read more

I have been to this hotel several times and it is one of my favorite hotels. Period. Every room has a balcony, which is a really nice amenity in the evenings. The outdoor cafe is open from breakfast through dinner - any time during the day people are there, meeting, talking, enjoying. What's more, the service is really terrific. The staff anticipates guests' needs, and does everything they can to make one's stay a little more enjoyable. PS. It can be worth it to pay the extra fee for lo... Read more

Okay so lets begin at check in. Please bare in mind that I am a Marriott Rewards Account holder. My flight was delayed and I arrived at 3:30am, it took me a while to finally check in to the hotel. Finally got to my room and was fairly disappointed with A) The smell of the room & B) the condition & Size of the bathroom. In my opinion for the Marriott Hotel to be charging that kind of money the rooms need to be massively upgraded. Half the lights didn't work, the room smelt very funny every time I... Read more

Hotel has a lot of restaurants , and almost 3 ballrooms for weddings ceremony , so its always busy with different crowds. Arab Gulf area types are the most crowd , they will be more visible on pool in large groups of males ,which will be bothering some otehr clients in case of ladies at the pools . Service on pool is a not that good , they are kind of slow and some waiters are not professional enough(kind of old stuff which can be dismissed from the hotel) but there managers handle cases pro... A big hotel with many restaurants, it was very busy overall. Service generally good, however there was no service by the pool. The worst thing we faced was the check in process; it was agreed to get two neighbouring rooms on a high floor overlooking the Nile river, but none was offered, so it took us a long time until we managed to get two rooms on the same floor, barely overlooking the Nile. Other than that, the experience was good, and there are many activities for kids as well.

The restaurant I ate in was Saraya Gallery and it was terrible service. Every time I wanted something I had to walk around the restaurant to find a waiter. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as a place to eat in Cairo as it doesn't show the true Egyptian hospitality. The food was room temperature and the staff weren't bothered.

Come visit Egypt! I had one of the best family trips ever--and this hotel made a great difference. This is the best deal in Cairo--the hotel has the best Guest Services staff you could ever ask for--My luggage was lost in Istanbul--they helped locate it and had it delivered to the hotel without me making a phone call. Even when the heat topped 100 degrees F. the AC worked so well that i had to turn it down. The sheets are comfy. Room service is able to improvise if you order something eas... Read more

We stayed here for 7 days while touring Cairo and couldn't be happier. A palace built for the opening of the Suez Canal and continuously improved, it's an elegant jewel set in the center of Cairo. Like other hotels during the trip the restaurants were limited because of Ramadan but there were plenty of choices. Put a grand venue over the usual Marriott classy operation and it an almost unbeatable combination.

My business partner and I have been coming to Cairo non stop since September 1, 2015. One of our favorite things is to end our day with a nightcap, tea, late meal at the Garden Restaurant in the Cairo Marriott and Omar Khayyam Casino. When we go we always look to be placed in the section where Mr. Gummal will be our waiter. Though all the staff is good at this Marriott, Hussein is exceptional. He is attentive without being smothering. He remembers our names, what our preferred drinks are and how... Read more

The hotel's central piece was once a lovely palace. The guest rooms are in two towers on either side. Very pleasant stay. Great view of the Nile and nice location in Zamalek. We did get tired of the constant pleas from the staff to give good Tripadvisor reviews, though.

While Cairo boasts some amazing hotels like the Four Seasons, Nile Ritz, Fairmont, Kempinski and more, there is something about the Marriot Zamalek that keeps you coming back. The rooms are pretty standard but the hotel location is one of the best in the city for access to nightspots and great restaurants in the cosmopolitan Zamalek area. The Marriot itself also boasts the JW steakhouse (the best steak in town bar none) and the garden promenade which is one of the best places to spend cool after... Read more

This is one of the most wonderful and luxurious hotel I have ever seen. This hotel is a piece of heritage. Its location is amazing. It is located in the center of Cairo with a Nile view. Its decoration is classic being a part of an old palace. The room is wide, well decorated. The bathroom is clean. The restaurants presents a variety of delicious food.

We stayed here for one week in July for tourism as a family. We got here super early in the morning, before our reservation, and as elite members of the Marriott, they were waiting for us! They were incredibly nice and welcoming, and took our bags up to our room. My family stayed in the king suite, which is huge, but beautiful. We had access to the executive lounge, where we had free breakfast every morning and free dinner (which we had most nights) and free refreshments all day long. We loved t... Read more

Thanks to; Islan, Miladessa in breakfast and Salama, Ashraf and Hend in housekeeping for making my stay in modern Cairo a gentle introduction to the rigours of the city that never sleeps. In particular I liked the interesting and diverse marble statues. Some are intriguing, some funny and some just beautiful.

The place has its own unique buildings, classic architecture and on of the oldest hotels in the city. Being there Frequently whenever I'm in Egypt for business. Staff are very helpful and welcoming, starting from the front office managed by Ayman and also the welcoming smile of Marwa to Omar cafe staff, especially Ayman and Mohamed. They are attentive and strive to make the best out of the available.

Work or pleasure, this is where I prefer to stay in Cairo. In a super hip neighbourhood of Zamalek and located right on the Nile / corniche, this hotel has a perfect location close to downtown. Beautiful lush gardens to have your morning coffee or evening drink at. Ask for the UN rate (for those working for the UN).
