We stayed just one night in a duplex room. The room was large with plenty of storage and the bed very comfortable. The lounge area, bathroom, and large wardrobe with safe were upstairs - climbing those slightly slippery stairs to go to the loo in the middle of the night might not suit everyone but the arrangement did make a lovely room. The large TV was in the bedroom not in the lounge - slightly odd but I am not sure who wants to watch TV when staying in a wonderful hotel in a great city! As o... Read more

We were very happy with our stay at this charming hotel which is perfectly located in the old town near the central square. The building has plenty of charm and the rooms are all unique. The staff were very helpful and always had a smile for you when you walked back through reception. Because the hotel has been sensitively converted to a hotel, you can expect a little noise in the room as the doors are thin, the pipe work can be noisy and the floorboards are creaky. But don't let that put ... Read more

The hotel is as beautiful as the photos portray it. The rooms are very nice and most of the staff was too. But, the one time we ate there, (on our first night) my steak was so tough that I could only saw off a couple of bites. I showed my wife and she couldn't even cut a piece off. I showed the waiter too and asked him to have the chef try to cut it but that didn't do any good and I was charged for it anyway. So we didn't eat there again. This converted colonial house has lovely rooms and staff. Because of its historic nature, there is limited sound buffering, so you will hear noises in the hall.
