We began and ended our month long trip to Ecuador in Quito. We started at Mansion de Angel and ended at Hotel Patio Andaluz. IMHO, this is the better of the two. Closer to the centre of town and things to see. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable beds and the staff were very gracious and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great, but we were here for a lunch (not good) and a dinner (underwhelming). Stay here by all means, but go out to eat!

The Hotel Patio Andaluz is just a few blocks from the presidential palace and the Plaza de Independencia. A complimentary buffet breakfast was included in the room charges. My wife and I stayed there for five days. During the day, we took trips to various places in and around Quito. There didn't seem to be much going on at night in the immediate area of the hotel, but for us it didn't matter, as we were tired from our day's adventure. Our room had two levels connected by a spiral staircase w... Read more

Excellent location. Staff all spoke superior English and were quick to respond to our needs. Charming decor. Room was clean and well-kept with a large amount of elbow-room. Room air control worked very well.

This was a very nice hotel--the staff, the restaurant, the design, the rooms, the service were all excellent. My only criticism has nothing to do with this--the old town closes up at night with no families roaming or lively activities near the historic square next door. Walking around on the empty streets is probably not a great idea for most folks. This would be excellent for one or two nights layovers in order to visit the historic churches, square and the pre-Columbian art museum.

We found all three nights to be fabulous! The food was great, the service was number one and the staff went above and beyond to provide us with whatever we needed. The breakfasts provided were amazing. The location in old town is perfect. We wanted to take all of the roses with us! So fresh and beautiful!

Had a lovely dinner here. Lots of local specialties that gave us a great introduction to Ecuadorian cuisine. Service was a bit slow but we were a large group. The restaurant was located in a hotel in a lovely terrace.

From the customer service, to the delicious breakfast buffet and immaculate rooms, my sister and I absolutely loved our stay! They left chocolates on our beds at turn down service and were more than accommodating with any questions we had about the city. We felt very safe with many tourists attractions just blocks away, including Plaza de la Independencia, the Basílica and El Panecillo. Truly a beautiful hotel I would stay in again and again!

This location is beautiful, charming and fabulously located in the old city, walking distance to everything. The rooms are modern and large. The restaurant is good and breakfast, in particular, is served in a beautiful setting with fresh fruit galore. Internet was good. The bar is wonderful with a small happy hour in a glass enclosed atrium. Loved this location!

My wife and I stated at the Patio Andaluz for two nights before our trip to the Galapagos Islands. This is a very nice, charming, old style hotel. The hotel common areas and guest rooms are spotlessly clean. The staff were outstanding in every way. Breakfast, included with the room, is excellent (buffet style). The hotel is in a great location, just a couple of short blocks to the main square of the old city. The hotel guest rooms are nicely, but modestly, furnished. The bathroom was very ... Read more
