A huge thanks goes to the head chef Joe who took pity on two travellers who just finished a 30 hour bus ride and were absolutely starving! He cooked us a delicious complementary three course dinner of prawn salad, a beautifully cooked Ecuadorean beef delicacy and creamy dessert that was to die for. The meal was 1st class and we were touched by his kindness and hospitality! He returned early in the morning to give us a traditional Ceviche breakfast that was absolutely delicious. Thank you Joel!!

We had a one night stay in Guayaquil before a morning flight to the Galapagos. We arrived after a pretty hideous bus journey of interminable hours in a packed coach which had oversold seats. We rocked up at the Holiday Inn as the typical scruffy, sweaty, backpack-wearing travellers and instantly felt out of place in the sleek reception area, where we were greeted with glasses of freshly squeezed fruit juice. There was comfortable seating in the reception, and a short distance away, a modern a... Read more

The staff took excellent care of us during our trip here. The food was very good and we were treated like royalty. I highly recommend anyone traveling here to book their rooms here. It is very close to the airport with easy access to major roads.

I arrived at the Guayaquil airport just after midnight. This hotel is walking distance but I was advised I should not walk and an airport representative picked me him. He spoke little English but was polite and helped me with my bags. When I arrived at the Inn the concierge spoken English and was very friendly. I had a room on the 6th floor with a view of the airport literally 500 feet away, its that close. The room was fresh and clean. Only complainant is that only one bottle of water was avail... We had been travelling for 3 weeks and had just left the Galapagos after a less than perfect cruise. This hotel is a 5 minute walk (or use their bus pick up) from the airport and exudes calm and quality. The room was attractive and clean with a picture window view to the city. Everything just worked and the staff were quietly efficient.

We had a great experience with this Holiday Inn. We needed somewhere to stay for literally less than 10 hours after arriving on a late flight from Cuzco and leaving early in the morning for the Galapagos. The hotel is basically in the airport parking lot. We emailed the hotel prior to our arrival and requested the shuttle. The driver was waiting for us as stated, wearing a suit and holding a printed sign with our names on it. The professionalism of the driver impressed us right away. The drive t... Read more

I'm usually not a fan of the Holiday Inn chain, but this property is surprisingly wonderful! The place is clean and modern, and the staff is very friendly! I couldn't get my television to work and they sent someone straight away, who fixed it in a matter of minutes. Overall it's a very comfortable place to stay.

I stayed here one night before flying to the Galapagos. It's right next to the airport, the perfect base before heading to the Galapagos or onward to Quito. The hotel is extremely clean, with really spacious rooms, super comfortable beds, and fast WiFi throughout. Breakfast was quite good as well, with plenty for me (a vegetarian) and ample coffee. Though the hotel is next to the airport, it's not a long drive from here to Guayaquil's main sights (Iguana Park, etc). I'd happily stay here again o... Read more

I spent 12 days at the Holiday Inn--Guayaquil Airport while on business. I stay at many hotels in my travels and this hotel is at the top of the list. Literally across the street from the Airport. I didn't even schedule a shuttle prior to my arrival and to my surprise the Shuttle driver was in the terminal holding a sign with my name on it when I exited customs. That was only the beginning of superb service. In the restaurant was perfect service by Martha, Luis, Miguel, Nelson, Ileana and t... Read more

The rooms were very nice. The staff was magnificent! I would recommend this place for breakfast. It's steps from the airport. The wifi signal could be better, however there was a good signal by the pool area! The staff is awesome. Ariadna was super welcoming and helpful in guiding us to the right attractions in Guayaquil!!

After staying nearly a week, I am totally impressed with the staff and facility. Free parking and excellent internet speed and great employees make this a great place to stay. Within 2 blocks are a major grocery store and a KFC! The room was cleaned immaculately each day. They have a shuttle several times to the airport and also a mall.I received a free upgrade he suite is perfect. It comes with a fridge and microwave. Bottles of free water are also included.

I stay at this hotel for 2 nights and I must say that you can arrange your pick up in advance contacting them or you can just walk there. I didn't know how far was the hotel and didn't want to get the chance to walk because the Guayaquil Airport surroundings are really tricky for example it will take 15 mins to get a hotel that is just front of the airport... hope you get the message. But goingt back to the message this hotel is just beside the exit gates of international flights!! If you have... Read more

It was named Jose Joaquin de Olmedo in honor of the first mayor of the city of Guayaquil. The airport is located 5 km from the center of Guayaquil, on the Avenue of the Americas, and has a runway of 2790 meters and an elevation of 5 meters. I stayed here for 7 nights and did not have a single issue. I wish all hotels would be as friendly and helpful as this one. I sprung for the 7th floor room which has free breakfast and cocktails at night. Probably would of been upgraded but I paid anyways and that's ok. I don't really get to Guayaquil often but I know this is where I will stay every single time.

The hotel is good. Friendly staff and incredible breakfast. But the linen and pillows were terrible. For that money, the linen and pillows should be perfect but it wasn't. The location is great, the check in, and it's a clean hotel, but they can not fall in this kind of staff.

Meeting spaces was well equipped. Even though th hotel is very close to Airport but you cannot hear the airplanes noises in the room.

We stayed here overnight before our flight to the Galapagos, and rented a room to hang out in on our return because we had almost 8 hours between our arrival from Baltra and our departure flight. It was great for this purpose - the rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. The hotel shuttle picked us up and dropped us off; although you could conceivably walk between the hotel and air terminal, the driveway and sidewalk arrangement was a bit awkward for doing this. Although we booked our rooms u... Read more

It is a lovely hotel just a block from the airport. Like most of HI the room is quite big bathroom ok and excellent service and breakfast. It is jot so far away from downtown, just 10 min drive. If you want go downtown it is recommended to rent a car at the airport. It is not so expensive and taxis are not so sure in Guayaquil

One-night stay at the Holiday Inn GYE Airport. Very close to the arrivals terminal, it's a 5-minute walk. Attentive, smiling and efficient at reception. Offered a welcome drink. Room was new, spacious, simple, efficient. No exterior noise. Wi-Fi worked well. Bed and pillow was firm, linens new and fresh pressed. Many outlets for charging devices. Check in was a breeze and we were greeted with a cold beverage at the desk. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and cordial. We were transiting from the Galapagos, so we were only there one night. Food was good in the restaurant although the menu is limited. Good breakfast options in the morning (paid) and a shuttle for the 4 blocks back to the airport. Aside from waiting for another checking-in hotel guest to enjoy his cigarette before he'd get on the shuttle bus at the airport when getting picked up, everything about this hotel is great! If it weren't 1AM when I landed, I could have easily walked to the property, it's that close. Modern rooms, super comfy beds, wonderful shower, only negative was the coffee for coffee maker. It just didn't cut the mark! Buy some sachets Holiday Inn! Highly recommended a stopover/connection at this hotel!

We stayed here for one night before flying to the Galapagos Islands, so we didn't get to see much of the hotel but it was definitely a comfortable stay. We were upgraded to a suite so we had a bit of extra space, which was nice in between our various hotel stays. Usually with airport hotels, you are forced to choose between tiny rooms and cheaper prices (often rundown, at some distance from the airport and not so cheap), or standard size rooms and ridiculously high prices. This is the first time I've had a fantastic hotel experience for a reasonable price. And a Holiday Inn no less! I took a cab (because I had neglected to arrange for the shuttle) which took less than five minutes from the airport. As soon as the cab pulled up, the doorman came out to ... Read more

We flew in late to Guayaquil from Quito with a very early departure to the U.S. the following morning; so, we were mostly interested in a good night's sleep and efficient transfers and a good rest. Booked our reservation in advance via the Holiday Inn webpage, asking for a roll away bed since we were 3 unrelated adults. The rollaway bed seemed to actually be a small bed with a full thickness mattress. It was a tight fit, but was placed next to the King size bed. In the other room, the couch ... Read more
