My family stayed here for one night before and one night after a Galapagos cruise. The hotel offered what we have come to expect from Hilton - a clean, quiet, comfortable room with a spotless, modern bathroom. Nice view of the city and a quiet executive lounge with snacks and drinks available all day with drinks and hot snacks in the evening. The buffet breakfast in the main dining room offered an amazing selection in a bright, nicely decorated environment. Reasonably priced for the quality ... Read more

I was booked here for 3 nights as part of a cruise with Abercrombie and Kent to the Galapagos. I was booked into a "club room" for a really high price. I wanted to get Hilton Honors points but the desk said"you are here on a discount". They must have been mistaken,I paid a high price. So why no credit?? The room I got on late check-in after a long international flight was NOISY and I got no sleep. The hotel has bad club level food, terrible coffee, and no amenities except for the huge pool and... Arrived late at night and left early in the morning on my way to the Galapagos. The hotel was a short drive from the airport. The hotel was modern and clean. Service was prompt and professional. The room was an average size, bed comfortable and the bathroom clean. Buffet breakfast was of good quality and variety. The area around the hotel was not great and I would not have wanted to walk outside the hotel on my own. Glad I was only here for one night.

My wife and I stayed here two separate nights during a group tour of Ecuador. The front desk staff was very professional and helpful when called upon. The other staff was a bit challenged when speaking English, but with a little effort on our side and theirs, satisfactory communication was made. Our room was spacious, with a king bed (very comfortable), desk, and separate chairs and coffee table. The room climate control worked well. The in-house restaurants served very good quality food,... The Hilton Guayaquil is one of our favorite hotels worldwide. Always a good experience -- from the bell staff to the managerial level. We always look forward to our stays here. Whether you are coming to Ecuador on business, to explore Guayaquil, or traveling on to the Galapagos or to Cuenca and beyond, the Hilton Guayaquil will be a great addition to your journey.

We spent 2 nights at the Hilton Colon as part of a Lindblad/National Geographic trip. The hotel staff was very nice and the rooms were clean. They have a few different restaurants and a nice swimming pool. We had some extra help from Lindblad personnel that made our stays seemless. FYI - the shopping mall others have mentioned is attached to the hotel but CLOSED on Sunday's.

The building is really nice rooms are comfortable the staff are a little non-responsive. We had been promised a call back twice within 30 minutes and heard nothing. Ended up with us having to go down to the front lobby. The breakfast buffet wait staff left us with no real direction.

The hotel offers a great service. Including luxury shops. The breakfast is really good and offers a great variety of choice. Personal is regularly polite. I personally dislike the hall far too big and impersonal. The lifts are slow and as per the number of hosts a complementary one might be useful.

I've stayed many times at this Hilton and it's still among the best hotels in the city. There are several dining choices within the property, all of them great. I especially enjoy the executive lounge with great views and varying menu choices throughout the day. The lounge staff take care of check in and out, as well as any other concierge-type needs. We spent one night at the Hilton Colon in Guayaquil on the way to the Galapagos Islands. The check in way efficient, the rooms in good condition and the facilities (pool, restaurants, shopping) were good. The best feature of the hotel was the staff. The hotel reception was excellent as was the lobby. Our room was fantastic on the 9th floor so we had access to the executive club which served drinks and snacks in the evening and a delicious array of food, and drinks in the morning. Fresh fruit, smoked trout, and European style offerings were perfect for the morning. The workout facility was nice, although a little more light would be helpful. I wish I had time for the spa.

Over the last 15 years I have stayed at the Guayaquil Hilton several times each year. The experience is always pleasent. The proximity to the GYE airport and the amenities of this hotel make it an exxcellent choice for accomodations in the city. The only disadvantage is the surrounding neighborhood offers nothing and it is dangerous at night to walk on the nearby streets.

There is nothing special about this place, other than the fact that Nat Geo uses it to house their Galapagos Islands guests. We were there for the earthquake in April 2016, and they did a decent job of getting everyone out, with a real concern for everyone's safety. The building was obviously built to Western earthquake standards, so there was only minor damage. On the down side, the main restaurant service is slow - even for Latin American standards. Ditto for the bar.

The smell of mold is terrible, like a 3rd class roadside motel. Also, there is absolutely no respect whatsoever for the guests regarding loud music from the parties they hold in the hotel's saloons.
