"I had booked the trip as a surprise for my partner to celebrate both his birthday and our 11 year anniversary, which happen to fall on the same day. After a long day of travel, we arrived at Ocean Blue to check in. After watching a couple sets of people check in ahead of us, we finally got to the counter and were ready to get settled. The gentleman behind the counter started to process our information and then a look of concern came over his face. We were asked, in broken English, to wait a few moments to the side for someone to come speak with us. We stepped to the lounge area and the resort employee processed to take the next group of people. After just a few minutes of waiting another hotel employee approached us and began to explain that the resort was overbook and they had arranged accommodations at another resort not far from here. We were surprised to say the least. And certainly disappointed. What was probably most disappointing about this was that there was no option given to us. After spending a great deal of time determining how and where we were going to spend an event that was special to us, suddenly, we had the rug pulled out from under us and we were being shipped off some place else like we were nothing more than a reservation number. It was explained to us where we would be staying and that we would need to sign a release form to do all of this. The release form was presented to us in spanish. While I certainly understand the need for a release form, what I don't understand is that the gentleman from the hotel explained to us that they had informed the agency the day prior to the fact that they were oversold, yet no attempt to contact us was made. Ultimately, we felt strong armed into signing this release. Either sign the release or not have any place to stay. Fearing not having a place to stay We didn't have any other choice. The gentleman we spoke to at the hotel, assured us that when we got there we would be upgraded to a deluxe suit with a hot tub on the balcony. He could promise us an ocean front room, which we had asked from because of the inconvenience, but he said he would get upgraded and have all the amenities. When we finally arrived , the check-in process was smooth and the staff was adequate, however, the room was not what we were told we would have. We were in a junior room at, what seemed like, the farthest end of the complex, in the family area. While, ultimately, we made the best of it and have an enjoyable experience, it could have been a great deal smoother and we could have been more prepared had there been better communication. "

"Hotel grounds were maintaned and looked wonderful pool and beach fab. Rooms were pleasant enough but not luxury, bath towels were awful, dirty white and hard, and looked like they had been used to clean the floor. Buffet was good food but service was hit and miss, in the end if was quicker to go and get a bottle of water from the bar as your meal would be finished by the time you got served. To stand any chance of getting a reservation in a restaurant you had to book for, you would have to start lining up at 6.30am for 90mins, even then after 2 mornings in line still couldnt get a table until the 9pm sitting. After all that waiting around the meal wasnt worth the wait !!! It states you can not reserve sun beds, but if you dont get down to the beach before 5am you will not find a bed in the shade. The pool sun beds were all taken by 7.30 am most mornings, so no chance of a lay in at this hotel !! Beware this Hotel is a big attraction for SENIOR WEEK, we spent our weeks vacation surrounded by drunk 18 year olds being loud and obnoxious, It was a great example to our kids of how not to behave totally ruined our weeks vacation. If we had wanted to experience that kind of vacation we would of gone to the Jersey shore and saved our hard earned cash !!!! Overall a totally unpleasant experience at this hotel,"

"Wow what an amazing birthday gift from my two daughters. The three of us enjoyed every second of our vacation. The daily entertainment staff were nothing but amazing, we just can't figure out where and how they had so much energy from morning thru night. The food, the servers, there is nothing bad to say about this resort. All of you there made my 50th birthday, one I shall never forget. Thank You Mama Will Be Back Soon"

"was excellent. 1st time to A-I Great place for older teens my son age 16 loved it very friendly staff great food didnt have to make reservations for dinner shows great lobby bar fun after the shows disco fun but didnt open until late but did go a couple nights.Highly recommend good price great food and beach"
