Beautiful, clean room, with an amazing view. Extremely friendly staff. The food was good, but the included wine (it is called Rebelle) was so gross that I couldn't drink it. And this is coming from someone who appreciates wines of all prices. The entertainment was good on some nights, and bad on others. The service was incredible, and the bar has an awesome selection!

We booked with Air Canada Vacations using the Samana Roulette deal which meant we didn't know which resort we would go to until we landed and met the ACV Rep at airport (in fact, everyone who booked the roulette on our flight where directed to this resort, which seemed kind of predetermined to me). I have to admit, I was hoping for the other resort (Also Grand Bahia) but we got this one and we are glad we did. Flying into Samana Airport is excellent. AC flight was the only flight there all da... Read more

Date of Trip: Dec 29th to Jan 5th 2017. A great hotel/resort. The buffet was excellent and had a lot of variety. The pools were all nice and had great staff at the bar areas. There is a lot of walking if you desire privacy, but there are shuttles and the elevator can eliminate the majority for those that have mobility issues - however, I would suggest another spot for those that are unable to walk short distances unassisted.

My review is a just a bit late. My best friend and my family decided to vacation together and couldnā??t ask for a nicer place. We stayed in the villas down the hill and although a little far from the events at the main building with the availability of the carts it was actually kinda fun. Our side of the resort was quiet and it felt like we had the whole private beach, pool and restaurant to ourselves. It was wonderful. The surroundings of the hotel is beautiful and the views are to die for... Read more

Beautiful, very well maintained location built into the side of a hill. Be prepared for LOTS of stairs. Also, if you are hoping to rent a wheelchair for someone with a mobility impairment, be prepared to pay $US40 a DAY (ridiculous). The nightly entertainment was pretty average. The buffet offered a very good variety of options. The New Years Eve meal in the bufffet restaurant was outstanding and the fireworks were a bonus. The specialty restaurants try very hard to be a first class experien... Read more

We just got back from the Grand Bahia Principe Cayocoa Samana Province DR. It was great. The food was really good and the staff were even better. Sadly when we got there (November 20th 2017) they had had a ton of rain, and the elevator was not up and running and some of the beach was under repair. You can pick the weather. The staff, Alex and the animation team (Miguel, chocolate, and Clorise) were fantastic. High energy and a bunch of fun. Make sure to go see the comedy show!! Lewis kep... Read more

I travelled solo to the Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa November 20th to 27th. My experience at the hotel was average or a bit better but to be fair, some of the scoring would be due to weather. The weather issue was a tropical depression that sat over the island for several weeks causing flooding and other damage and issues. What that system brought was much torrential rain, grey skies and cool weather. My main issue was that the "panoramic elevator to the beach" was closed the week I was there,... Read more

Just back from our two week vacation. This was our first time in Samana at Bahia Principe Cayacoa. The resort is set on a hillside overlooking the town of Samana. Great wonderful views from all the rooms overlooking the bay or the town. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was cleaning all the time. The staff was very helpful when we had questions or needed help on booking an excersion. We enjoyed all the Restaurants. They had a very good selection. Something for everyone's tast... Read more

We travelled here November 20th to November 27th. I did not realize when I booked how much rain Dominican had been getting. 21 days of rain causing flooding and mud slides including one at the beach at this hotel. When we arrived the beach was reopened partially, but no bathrooms there and a temporary bar. The elevator is shut down and you can take a tram through the village or walk many stairs to the beach. The water had a lot of garbage floating in it, like plastic bottles, chip bags and takeo... Read more
