First of all let me say I have been a Grand Level member for several years. We love The Grand because of all the great staff. Just returned from another great trip to the Occidental Grand Royal Club. If you go to this hotel, I would definitely recommend upgrading to the Royal Club. Samuel, Hipolito and Hector take great care of you in the Royal Club dining room. The food is excellent and the service is better than a Ritz Carlton. The menu changes every day and they have a wonderful lobster night on Mondays. When you have to go home you will be sad because you will feel like you are leaving your family.

We read negative reviews of the rooms but we we were quite satisfied. The rooms were very clean and not shabby. but nice, The food was good. They had a wonderful assortment of fruits and vegetables. this was my sixth visit to this site and still worth it. Like I said in previous reviews it is an older all inclusive but the beds are fantastic, the shower hot and a/c works. Weather was great. We were there about 10 years ago. Not much has changed. It is clean but it is getting close to time for an update. We go to the Royal Club every year in March. The reason we repeat is because we love the hotel workers in this area and, especially the dining room. This is an excellent set up. This hotel is stunning stayed here for Christmas and new year been to this hotel twice, my room was lovely it was by the pool but not the main pool I was 2 mins walk from the white sandy beach, lots of things to do here for kids too they have s great Kids club. This resort is located on a perfect spot on the beach no erosion or rocks. You will always get beach chairs but the week we were there we could never get a sun shade.People left their personal belonging out all night to keep them and the resort didn't police this. Yes, the beach is to die for. And that's pretty much the only good thing I can say about this hotel. White sand, amazing water, true paradise. This was my 15th trip this resort in 4 years!!! Yes that's right. I have stayed between 1-3 weeks at a time. Love the new renovations being done. Always am well received by staff. Was at this fabulous resort just last week. Our room was nice but they couldn't accommodate a connecting one with my daughters. We had a very pleasant stay overall. We had an issue with the air conditioner in our room which caused a 5:30 wake up on our first morning there. It's on bavaro beach, lovely area, beach stretches for miles. Food wasn't anything to rave home about, I ate a lot of Hot Dogs and French Fries and Coconut Ice Cream. Staff was very friendly. The most exciting place I have traveled to out of country. I enjoyed the pool, beaches, bars and especially places to dine out. If you never been you need to go. Make sure you're ready to eat... The people's so friendly and professional services. They greet you with a smile at the door and wait your table constantly the entire time.. I love it and plan on going back.

Just got back from this resort, my review is 60/40 1 st time in punta Cana.. People are friendly. I mean very friendly if your two women. Catch my drift. Check in was ok, they didn't say much just gave us a map, then a ride to our room. The resort outside was gorgeous , of course some areas needed to be painted and repaired ..
