"My wife and I traveled to the Punta Cana Princess for our honeymoon and overall, we had a great time. The rooms were ok, nothing spectacular. Not having an ocean view was a bit of a downer, but the grounds of the resort were beautiful so everything you looked it was nice. The food was both good and bad. The buffet was kind of disappointing, but it is at most resorts like this. The same items pretty much every day. Had an omelet for breakfast every day, but it was good. They only had bacon one day. Lunch and dinner were the same way. Not bad food, but not great on the buffet. The a la carte restaurants, however, were all very nice. The fajitas at the Tex-Mex place were awesome.
Room service was not great. It took an hour, minimum, to receive your food and there was a VERY limited menu. Also, even though the resort says 24 hour room service, it is not. We could not order anything from 10-11pm because the staff did not come in until 11. This was every day.
The bars and drinks were awesome. We spent a lot of time at the pool and swim up bar. I would definitely recommend getting your own cup to save the trips to the bar. Frozen drinks don't last very long, so it's nice to have an insulated cup.
The weather was great. It sprinkled a little bit the first night we were there but only for a couple of minutes. It rained/stormed very hard our last night there, but nothing else the entire week. Hot and humid but once you got into the water, it was beautiful. The pool was almost too warm and the ocean was perfect. Ocean water was fairly clear, but kind of dirty with vegetation. We went to Cozumel a little over a year ago and the water in Punta Cana was kind of disappointing in comparison but if you have never been anywhere else or anywhere like Cozumel, you will be very happy. The beach was very nice. The casino with the resort was a little bit of a ride on the shuttle, but not bad. The casino itself was pretty small but not overly crowded. I would not recommend renting a car, scooter, or even walking anywhere near the streets. No one knows how to drive, read a stop sign, signal for turning, or yield the right of way there. The cab rides are quite an experience and if you get motion sickness at all, take a pill before going anywhere. The roads there are ran down and full of speed bumps and dips.
We did the Dune Buggy excursion one day. It was fun overall but our buggy sucked big time. The steering was so loose that any time I would hit a bump I would jump all over the road. It was not safe at all and I couldn't relax and enjoy the scenery while we were driving. Very stressful and exhausting. The cave was beautiful and the pool in the cave was very refreshing. The beach we went to was also amazing. Another day we did the StingRay Bay excursion. It was a lot of fun. Took a party type boat out to a floating park and swam with sharks and stingrays. Then went another place in the water and snorkeled. The staff was great and it was a party on the boat. Another day we went parasailing. It was great fun and will most definitely do it again.
The excursions were all great, but we had a terrible time trying to book them. Our VIP representative was never at the resort. Out of 8 days, we saw her twice. We never even got our information for our return to the airport and if it wasn't for one of the other agents at the resort making a few phone calls and adding us to a list, we would not have gotten picked up at all. This was very stressful and disappointing. We wasted time almost every day going down to the lobby multiple times when she was supposed to be there so we could either book an excursion or get our return info. The people in the lobby would always tell us she would be there at a different time, but she never was. We wasted our entire last morning there because we weren't sure on when we were getting picked up for our ride to the airport.
When you first get to the airport, they will probably take you over to a guy and he will talk to you about the Hard Rock Resort. I suggest you listen and take the offer. I think it was a $40 deposit upfront you had to pay, but they give it back to you when you go and they pay for the cab ride. What you get is a day pass to the Hard Rock and get to enjoy everything...the restaurants, pools, beach, and casino. They give you a tour and talk to you about their vacation club. It's not super pushy and they are all really nice. After you get done with the presentation, the give you your vouchers for your free massage. The spa was amazing there. The food was great. And the casino was very impressive. It was a well spent day that we didn't have to pay for at all.
Overall I would rate our trip a 4/5. The resort was very nice but left a little to be desired. The walk from our room to the beach was a downer. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there was no elevator. The hotel staff was very nice but service at the restaurants was very slow. We are already looking into going back to Punta Cana next year. I think we will try a different resort just to try one, but I would go back to the Punta Cana Princess. It was a very reasonably priced and beautiful resort with a very nice pool and beach.

"Punta Cana Princess All Adults was amazing! My husband and I went there last minute for our 1 year anniversary and had one of the best vacations of our life! There are always so many options for hotels and you never know what to expect, but this was a hit! Here's the run down.... Great flight times so no time was wasted.... Easy transportation to and from airport and only about 30 miles.... Greeted by the most friendly staff! Easy check in. Rooms were very clean, very simple but had everything you need including a stocked fridge. The grounds were extremely well kept and absolutely beautiful. The pool was very clean and it seemed that there were never more than 30 people there which was awesome! The best part for us was the adults only part. You never heard crying kids or had little ones running around constantly. No loud music and chaos, which made it the most peaceful vacation and that's what we were looking for. The beach was so pretty, water was crystal clear (a little seaweed but no big deal).... Never had trouble finding chairs on the beach. As far as the food, we thought it was pretty good. The Italian restaurant was AMAZING! You can go eat at the sister resorts, but we never did. Buffet was pretty good as well. Nothing gourmet but it was good. We went to the casino at night and had a blast. Didn't win millions, but oh well :) .... Drinks at the resort were great, but pace yourself!! One thing to be aware of are the people selling 'excursions'... They don't really give you all the details. We went to Catalina Island which was so beautiful, but it was an all day ordeal and we weren't told that. So just be aware of that. Also, bring bug spray because the mosquitos ate up our legs!! Oh and you might want to brush up on simple Spanish phrases. The workers do not understand a lot of English, but it was not a big issue. Overall, we rate this trip a 9.5 out of 10 and will definitely be returning to Punta Cana for sure!!!!"

"We stayed at the Punta Cana Princess the last week of May 2012. Our overall experience was excellent. Most importantly, the beach was perfect and the shade-providing palm canopies allowed us to remain on the sand all day long. Strolling wait staff would occasionally stop by to take our drink orders. Best of all, no screaming kids were present to sully the experience.
The food and drink options were very good. We ate at all the different restaurants and enjoyed most of them. The wait staff were polite and entertaining. Strolling mariachis enhanced the experience.
Staff were out cleaning the property and the beach every day. Our room was very nice and well-maintained with a fully stocked drink refrigerator. They also fogged for mosquitoes on a regular basis, so bugs were not a problem. We took advantage of the outdoor spa for a heavenly hour-long massage.
One minor criticism was a lack of entertainment once the sun went down. You could take a shuttle to an adjoining property to sample their restaurants, disco and entertainment, but we didn't really take advantage of that. The local area away from the resort was run down and not an attraction for visitors.
Also, there were occasionally some merchandise vendors who got a little too aggressive.
But overall, the experience was fantastic and we'd highly recommend this establishment!"

"My sister, adult daughter, and I stayed at the Punta Cana Princess Resort last week. It was our first time in Punta Cana. The resort was nice. The rooms could use some updated furniture. The first few days, the room had a musty smell but it went away after three days. We were near the pool and ocean on the ground floor so we attributed the smell to the location but talked to people on the second floor who also had rooms that smelled. We all thought the food was very good. There was always a selection in the buffet. The restaurants were nice but we didn't care for the steak filet a the Tex Mex/Steak House (get the chicken entree). Take bug spray. The sand had sand fleas that left itchy bites on my daughter's legs. The mosquitos came out at night and were nasty in the lobby or outdoor seafood restaurant. The shows in the lobby were not very good. There is no theatre at this resort like at the sister resort Caribe Princess.. The staff was very friendly. Most knew English well. If you are looking for souvenirs, go past the pool out to the beach and take a 10 minute walk to the left. There are several souvenir beach shops that will bargin with pricing and have everything you will find at the resort gift shop or the beach gift shop. There were three in one room and a couple times we had to call the front desk because there were only two clean towels left by the cleaning staff. We could eat at any restaurant at the resort without a reservation but two restaurants were closed on two different nights for various reasons. We went ziplining which was fun. We also went on the dune buggies. We would not recommend because each stop we made we were hounded to buy souvenirs. We thought our ride would be on the sand on the beach and it was not. We went to the beach but parked an had to try to avoid the people selling baskets and hats (very annoying). No one takes 'NO' for an answer. Drinks at the swim up bar are in small cups. If you take an insulated mug, the bartenders will fill it with your favorite drink. We had a nice time. The weather was great. We would go back to Punta Cana but probably try a different place but for the money and a first trip, this resort was ok."

"When we arrived at our room, a large puddle of water was on the floor in the sitting area due to a leaky refrigerator. The smell of mold in the room was overpowering. Mold spots were also visible on the couch pillows and the bed cloths smelled very moldy. Water remained on the bathroom floor the duration of our stay and appeared to be coming up through the grout; this caused the tile floor to be very slippery. Every time we entered the room the mold smell was very very pungent. Several restaurants were advertised but were rarely opened for dinner. The buffet was understaffed and the food that was served was not very tasty nor was there much of a variety. The wait staff at the buffet were not attentive. Sometimes we had to wait 15 minutes for drink refills, even went to the bar area at the buffet and got our own drink refills. The majority of the time we felt as though we were inconveniencing the staff despite generous tips. Personnel attending the souvenir stand/cart in the resort area were very pushy and aggressive. There were not enough chairs or shade at the pool or beach area. We regreat to say that we would not recommend this resort."

"It was pretty awesome. The rooms were a little outdated in appearance (think Blanche's bedroom from the Golden Girls), and the bathrooms a little dark, but the overall experience was great. Some of the restaurants were just okay (Rio Grande was definitely my favorite), but overall they had some good options. I had a wonderful time though because the people who worked there are super friendly (I wish people in the US were this friendly). Everything was organized very well with transportation to and from the hotel and the Dr. Fish Spa Boat that we had purchased separately. If you need an escape for a few days or want to celebrate a life (in my case a birthday), it is definitely great!"

"This was our 7th trip to DR, first time to this resort... and never again...Stayed for 14 nights from 4/14 to 4/28. We had platinum package and have not received anything that is listed on the site except beach towels in the room. It is false advertising to say the least. Resort needs an update - rooms have mold, some palapas on the beach have holes, food is low quality and not always fresh. Our package included premium drinks or so they said-you have to ask for everything and then argue with the waiter...Some of the staff were acting as if they are doing you a favor by serving your needs...unbelievable ! We met some retired educators from Canada and asked them to rate this resort with us - on the scale from 1 to 10 we all agreed it can only be rated 1. We will not recommend it to anybody."

"7 of us went to Punta Cana for my 30th Bday and I spent a solid 3 months researching resorts before booking our vacation....I made the right decision! Punta Cana Princess is an amazing place!!! Best part about the resort is the staff, always happy, always singing, and dancing! Next best part is the beach there, its PERFECT! No garbage or washed up vegetation laying around like the other resorts on the beach. Food was overall very good...remember this is an all inclusive resort and we all know those type of resorts usually don't serve the greatest food but we were all very happy with the selection and options at Punta Cana Princess. Being a smaller, adults only resort is a HUGE part of why this place is so great! No screaming kids and no huge crowds of people at the bars and restaurants. See Hector on the beach at Seapro for all your excursion and water sports needs! We all agreed we will be making a return visit as soon as possible!"

"If you have never been to an all-inclusive you may have really enjoyed this resort. However, my first experience was not so great...It is about a quarter of the size, no theater which means no nightly shows, the food was not good, the people were not as attentive, less amenities, rooms were like typical hotel chain room, and the staff did not pamper the guests. I wanted to check out a different resort so I chose this one, however, I will not be returning."

"We loved the beach, loved the time off and away from the daily and the time with together. We hadn't taken a "real... vacation since our honeymoon. The sand was so soft and the water was so clear and warm.
It was gorgeous. it never rained/we had a lovely relaxing week on the beach. It was 85 the whole time! the hotel room was nice and clean and comfy. The pool was beautiful and huge.
I didn't like that the island is destitute. When we went to the hard rock and on a dune buggy excursion, I kept waiting to be hijacked and held for ransom!
I also had no idea we would have to be at the airport 3 hours ahead of time on the way home. And that the airport has like NO air conditioning! It was a stinky smelly ride home, for everyone!
I hated our hotel. I would never recommend anyone to stay there. Here's why:
There is no downtown or nightlife, no wonder no one leaves their resort/but ours basically shut down at 11. I mean, we went to the hard rock casino one night until midnight and when we got back they were turning the lights off in the lobby/no bars, no clubs no nothing! Not that we went there to party but even if you wanted to stay up and have a few drinks, everything closed! And it was an adults only resort/I think the other 2 properties had more going on than ours did!!
there was a kiosk at the pool with stuff: cigars, jewelry etc/we hadn't even gotten into our room (still in our pants carrying our bags) and the guy accosted us/and kept at us until we finally walked over 2 days later to look and even then they were shoving stuff at us/you didn't feel like you could even LOOK at stuff to THINK about buying without them attacking you. 2 nights they actually set up multiple tables on the walk way and they attacked you too-I called it walking the gauntlet. There was no way to avoid them/
our "on property casino... was a 10 minute trolley ride away and it was so small and disappointing/
you had to be on the beach by 6:30 am in order to get a chaise under a tiki hut or else you fried. which was fine, I was up/but annoying/and if you left your stuff unattended for too long, someone moved it and took your seat/.
It was PACKED with rude people (the main culprit of the seat-stealing)
Our itinerary said we had the "platinum package... with "VIP bracelet... but no one could tell us what was included and we got different info from each person:
*There was a VIP beach area. I was told we had to pay $27 ea per day to use it by the front desk person/the beach guy told us we were entitled to it because of our bracelets-on the 4th day!!!!
*We met a couple with the same bracelet as us who got a 30 min massage included in their package.
*The one really good restaurant that was not included/except the one night we ate there/then the waitress said it was included/but when we went with pat and Jess, same waitress, said it wasn't. And no one at guest services could tell us why/
*The guest services girl was always confused and overwhelmed. she didn't even know about the "romantic dinner on the beach... that they offered even tho it was a HUGE POSTER-SIGN opposite her desk-she would have to look at all day every day! and she was scared and confused when we asked about it. It had a limited menu/we didn't do it.
They said that men couldn't wear shorts for dinner (which i understand) and had to wear closed toe shoes /IT'S A BEACH RESORT!!!
There were 5 restaurants on our property. We could eat at any of the other restaurants on the other 2 properties (not adults only) and all of them sucked. You were limited to your selections (only 1 appetizer, not 1 hot and 1 cold, for example), they had limited menu items and they stopped serving at 9.
They had one restaurant that offered a lobster dinner/for $25 pp. It was worth it, but not included. One person told us we needed to tell then ahead of time if wd be having that and another said we could kat order when we got there...
There were no snacks or food offered except at certain times of the day at certain restaurants. And even then it was crap-food. The food overall was really disappointing, tho I had a friend staying at the hard rock (that's why we went there) and she said their food wasn't that great either, so maybe it's like that every where?
They had room service but we never even got a menu in our room, even tho I asked for one 3 days in a row. And everything on it was included EXCEPT the cheeseburger. Weird.
It was definitely not my favorite vacation ever. Again, it was really relaxing to spend 5 days on the beach/but the rest of it was disappointing.

"My Son , my Daughter and I stayed at This beautiful Resort with all inclusive !! Nice people, nice food, except for the transportation, those guys need to pay attention over the passengers, one of them was talking by phone all time and the lady almost felt down when tried to get up and seat this guy start driving talking by phone and didn't care, and the other ones you have to beg them for the service to the Casino which one is included, or the disco Aerito included too. The mosquitos was the other problem OMG! they bite you all time at the restaurant 'buffett', or at the lobby, they have nice speakers around but never use them, they should do for announcements activities at the beach, or pool....entertainment was fantastic, people very nice, and Yes! we will come back ..."

"I recently visited the Dominican Republic for the first time with my girlfriend. Our mom's also met us there. I did a lot of research online and we picked the Punta Cana Princess primarily because of the adults only resort and because of the positive reviews.rnYou never know what you are going to get with an all inclusive. For what we paid for 6 nights and round trip air fair I thought everything would be decent. The resort exceeded my expectations on all levels. The rooms were a little older but nice and room service kept everything very clean. The staff was so friendly and made everyday and every meal an experience. The animation team (nightly entertainment) were great!rnrnThe food was also fantastic! Yeah, if you are comparing to a 5 star steakhouse in the US then it is not that quality, but that is not what you are paying for. Every meal I had was fresh, hot, lots of variety, very good. the only problem was I ate too much! Beaches were beautiful and it didn't hurt that we had perfect weather the whole week.rnthe resort is smaller and was not busy so could get drinks very easily, which were also very good. You don't have to tip, but I wanted to because of the excellent service and they definitley appreciate it. Be sure to try the mama hawanah! Was a little concerned because of the price being so much lower than other site and some negative reviews, but we had no problems. Overall, an amazing trip and experience!"

"The hotel was very clean. The staff was very attentive. The food was good. I was able to use the sister facilities. The shows that were put on left a little to be desired though. The Swiss restaurant did not have much of the authentic food you would expect from Switzerland. The beaches were great. I did read a review from someone else that said there were a lot of prostitutes there on the beach but found that statement to be quite false. The casino was not large but was nice. The room was nice and kept spotless by the staff. The disco was also nice but had many more locals there than I expected.
Overall I enjoyed it a great deal and would recomend it highly for anyone else."

Our room was spacious and very clean and the maid was wonderful always making sure you had enough beach towels and bath towels! The food was ok. Different food then I am used to but all in all I was satisfied. I am sure that we will return to this resort again!!!!! "

"This trip and hotel was awesome. I have to say the worst was the flights.... the hotel was clean, the maids work VERY hard. The wait staff extremely accomadating and always at your side to offer you a drink or inquire of your needs. The staff speak mostly spanish but are FRIENDLY and work hard to understand your english or in my case spanglish. The resort had lots to do. Be careful of your affilated vendor offering you excursion wait it out a day and talk to people to see what they say. My boyfriend and i went to the 10 a.m meeting right away and signed up for stuff that we could had waited to hear about from other guests. i have been to punta cana TWO times before this and this was the best trip ever. We did the adventure buggies and had a blast you get dirty so just bring a t shirt and shorts but all in all the weather was fabulous and people friendly. Most of all the food was EXCEPTIONAL at every resteraunt and the place clean. Guest services follows through with any request and makes things right. This is not a rose colored glasses submission this is reality i have nothing to loose!!! def book with this hotel you CANT go wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and btw the beach was amazing also!"

"This was my second time to the Punta Cana area. The first hotel I stay in was more expensive & was nicer. However, my friend and I got a great deal for this hotel & it was a good value. It is more of a moderate hotel. The rooms are not perfect, but clean and you won't be in them much anyway. The grounds were beautiful & they seemed to be constantly cleaning. The beach bar was wonderful, feeling the ocean breeze & sipping a cocktail on the sofa. The staff was very friendly, some maybe too friendly to 2 women traveling together, but harmless. The disco was fun. Beautiful beach & water! Nice pool w/ friendly people at the swim up bar. My only complaint would be the quality of the food, very average, don't expect great cuisine. The Dominican cuisine night was delicious-maybe they should stick to what they know well. You tend to see many of the same dishes over again. Over a good trip, great staff & if you're not too picky about food & luxury room accommodations then this is a good value. You get what you pay for, this is not a luxury priced, but a good solid middle of the road resort.

"We had an amazing stay at the Punta Cana Princess. Gorgeous beach, nice pool, fabulous restaurants! Had a few mosquito bites but nothing severe. Staff was friendly and service was great. Ocean was pretty calm - a few waves rolling in but definitely safe swimming. We took a gamble booking during hurricane season but the weather was great! Sunshine every day during the week. A few short rain showers but they were fun to be caught in. I definitely recommend! Rooms closest to the pool on the third floor (the highest floor) are desirable. Great view!"
