"I stayed at the Punta Cana Princess for 4 days and had a good time. Here are some observations. Check-In: I arrived at around 4pm on a Wednesday and found no one else waiting in line to check in. The front desk staff was friendly and worked quickly. The process took 3 minutes tops. I was presented with a map, room key, bracelet and some info about the resort. I did ask about wifi and was told that it was $15/day for lobby only wifi and almost $60 for wifi resort-wide (for an unspecified amount of time) and this seemed a bit expensive. I did need to do some work after arriving and asked to purchase wifi for the lobby but was told that I had to wait until tomorrow, though I am still not sure why that was. Lobby: The lobby has many chairs and sofas to relax in. There was a bar that was open late in the lobby. This seemed to be a gathering area in the evenings with little shows, music and socializing. During the days there were representatives from tour companies. Unlike other properties I have stayed at, these reps did not seem to hound people to make excursion sales. I also did not see a single time-share or other sales type person aside from the tour reps. Room: My room as clean and rather large. The bathroom was also clean. I did notice that there were only 2 bath towels in the bathroom which was fine for me as a solo traveler but it might have been an issue with a second person in the room. There was plenty of bath gel, shampoo and conditioner. The room had a large closet which contained 2 bathrobes, 2 pair of slippers, an umbrella and 2 beach towels. The bed was firm which I like. There was a sunken living room with a day bed and flat screen TV. A sliding glass door opened to a fenced patio with 2 chairs. Pool: The pool was quite large and had many, many places to sit and lots of umbrellas. There was a bar at the pool with both swim-up and walk-up counters. The water was clear and warm but not too warm. The bar would open around 10am and close at 6pm. Beach: The beach had many many beach chairs and beds with a roped off VIP section. In the center of the beach there is a small bar that seemed to close around 5pm. Bars: In addition to the lobby, pool and beach bars there was a 24-hour bar between the pool and beach. There were plenty of comfy chairs and booths to sit in. This was definitely a gathering place for the after dinner crowd. As mentioned they were open 24 hours and had a limited food menu for the night time. Restaurants: There were 4 a-la carte restaurants and 2 buffets. The main buffet was close to the lobby and served 3 meals a day. The food was not the best but not the worst. Each evening has a theme night at this buffet (Spanish, Mexican, Italian, etc.) The second buffet was smaller and was attached to the 24 hour bar. It appeared to serve breakfast, continental breakfast and lunch with afternoon tea. At night this became a Meditteranean a la carte restaurant. The other restaurants were Tex-Mex, Italian and Fondue. I only ate at the main buffet so I cant comment to the others. Activities: I did not see much in the way of organized activities during the day. They have an event staff but I am not sure what they do. other resorts have featured games, water polo etc. There was a schedule of daily activities posted however I did not see any of these happening. Staff: Staff were for the most part friendly. The best staff seemed to be at the bars. Restaurant staff were helpful and brought beverages and removed plates in a timely manner. Front desk staff were a little distant but were helpful. Overall I enjoyed my stay here. It was worth what I paid for it and I would return again. One thing I noticed that I liked was that the resort did not appear over crowded. I could always find a beach or pool chair and a seat at the buffet. Other guests were from all over (Many from Russia, Germany, Canada and USA) and all though this property is adults only, it was not too wild. Yes I will go back and yes I would recommend the resort."

"The staff is hands down the highlight of the resort. They remember your name and they are always friendly. The food was ok, but at least you have the option of going to the other sister resort to eat also. The room we stayed in was always humid and we kept waking up with what we assumed were mosquito bites, but could have possibly been bed bugs now that I think about it. The rooms were always cleaned and turned down at night. The resort is small and relaxing, I would consider visiting this resort again, just check the bed before you lay down!"

"Left PCPH on 6/1/13 - I have traveled all over the world and stayed in many types of accommodations. Punta Cana Princess was exactly what I expected after reading other travelers' reviews. It was fine enough for the trip. I appreciated that it was on the beach, I had access to the beach and huts to stay under. I was there when the capacity was at 50%. I don't think that there would have been room for all the guests, service likely would have been slow and lines quite long had I been there at peak season. I didn't have to leave to eat. The food was as I expected - bland and nothing to write home about but it kept me fed. DR, in my opinion, is a place you go to sit on the beach rather than explore the island. This hotel served that purpose. I did have VIP bracelets and apparently but found that out only from another guest b/c they had different colored bracelets. To dhits day, my only explanation of the colored bracelets came from other guests. My biggest issue is that when I went to leave the resort it was early, I will give them that issue. However, what they do apparently is turn off all the lights every day at 3 am over the entire hotel. There are ABSOLUTELY no lights through the gardens, etc. When I went to leave, I had to walk in complete darkness from my hotel room to the lobby. There was minimal lighting behind the reception desk and that was it. When I went to get in to the shuttle to go back to the airport, I could not see b/c there were no lights and the pavement was uneven and I rolled my foot and broke it. The one guy who was working at that time I could barely see across the lobby sitting legs up over the couch talking to the security guard. It was late/early for him and he really didn't care. I flew back to the USA to get medical care as I did not want to go in the DR. I have not let this devalue the rest of the hotel experience but, sadly, it is the one that sticks with me most as I stare down at the knee to toe cast I am now wearing for the next 4-6 weeks surgery pending. Key points - don't go anywhere there in the dark...travel only in the light!"

"My wife and I traveled to the Punta Cana Princess for our honeymoon and overall, we had a great time. The rooms were ok, nothing spectacular. Not having an ocean view was a bit of a downer, but the grounds of the resort were beautiful so everything you looked it was nice. The food was both good and bad. The buffet was kind of disappointing, but it is at most resorts like this. The same items pretty much every day. Had an omelet for breakfast every day, but it was good. They only had bacon one day. Lunch and dinner were the same way. Not bad food, but not great on the buffet. The a la carte restaurants, however, were all very nice. The fajitas at the Tex-Mex place were awesome. Room service was not great. It took an hour, minimum, to receive your food and there was a VERY limited menu. Also, even though the resort says 24 hour room service, it is not. We could not order anything from 10-11pm because the staff did not come in until 11. This was every day. The bars and drinks were awesome. We spent a lot of time at the pool and swim up bar. I would definitely recommend getting your own cup to save the trips to the bar. Frozen drinks don't last very long, so it's nice to have an insulated cup. The weather was great. It sprinkled a little bit the first night we were there but only for a couple of minutes. It rained/stormed very hard our last night there, but nothing else the entire week. Hot and humid but once you got into the water, it was beautiful. The pool was almost too warm and the ocean was perfect. Ocean water was fairly clear, but kind of dirty with vegetation. We went to Cozumel a little over a year ago and the water in Punta Cana was kind of disappointing in comparison but if you have never been anywhere else or anywhere like Cozumel, you will be very happy. The beach was very nice. The casino with the resort was a little bit of a ride on the shuttle, but not bad. The casino itself was pretty small but not overly crowded. I would not recommend renting a car, scooter, or even walking anywhere near the streets. No one knows how to drive, read a stop sign, signal for turning, or yield the right of way there. The cab rides are quite an experience and if you get motion sickness at all, take a pill before going anywhere. The roads there are ran down and full of speed bumps and dips. We did the Dune Buggy excursion one day. It was fun overall but our buggy sucked big time. The steering was so loose that any time I would hit a bump I would jump all over the road. It was not safe at all and I couldn't relax and enjoy the scenery while we were driving. Very stressful and exhausting. The cave was beautiful and the pool in the cave was very refreshing. The beach we went to was also amazing. Another day we did the StingRay Bay excursion. It was a lot of fun. Took a party type boat out to a floating park and swam with sharks and stingrays. Then went another place in the water and snorkeled. The staff was great and it was a party on the boat. Another day we went parasailing. It was great fun and will most definitely do it again. The excursions were all great, but we had a terrible time trying to book them. Our VIP representative was never at the resort. Out of 8 days, we saw her twice. We never even got our information for our return to the airport and if it wasn't for one of the other agents at the resort making a few phone calls and adding us to a list, we would not have gotten picked up at all. This was very stressful and disappointing. We wasted time almost every day going down to the lobby multiple times when she was supposed to be there so we could either book an excursion or get our return info. The people in the lobby would always tell us she would be there at a different time, but she never was. We wasted our entire last morning there because we weren't sure on when we were getting picked up for our ride to the airport. When you first get to the airport, they will probably take you over to a guy and he will talk to you about the Hard Rock Resort. I suggest you listen and take the offer. I think it was a $40 deposit upfront you had to pay, but they give it back to you when you go and they pay for the cab ride. What you get is a day pass to the Hard Rock and get to enjoy everything...the restaurants, pools, beach, and casino. They give you a tour and talk to you about their vacation club. It's not super pushy and they are all really nice. After you get done with the presentation, the give you your vouchers for your free massage. The spa was amazing there. The food was great. And the casino was very impressive. It was a well spent day that we didn't have to pay for at all. Overall I would rate our trip a 4/5. The resort was very nice but left a little to be desired. The walk from our room to the beach was a downer. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there was no elevator. The hotel staff was very nice but service at the restaurants was very slow. We are already looking into going back to Punta Cana next year. I think we will try a different resort just to try one, but I would go back to the Punta Cana Princess. It was a very reasonably priced and beautiful resort with a very nice pool and beach. "

"Punta Cana Princess All Adults was amazing! My husband and I went there last minute for our 1 year anniversary and had one of the best vacations of our life! There are always so many options for hotels and you never know what to expect, but this was a hit! Here's the run down.... Great flight times so no time was wasted.... Easy transportation to and from airport and only about 30 miles.... Greeted by the most friendly staff! Easy check in. Rooms were very clean, very simple but had everything you need including a stocked fridge. The grounds were extremely well kept and absolutely beautiful. The pool was very clean and it seemed that there were never more than 30 people there which was awesome! The best part for us was the adults only part. You never heard crying kids or had little ones running around constantly. No loud music and chaos, which made it the most peaceful vacation and that's what we were looking for. The beach was so pretty, water was crystal clear (a little seaweed but no big deal).... Never had trouble finding chairs on the beach. As far as the food, we thought it was pretty good. The Italian restaurant was AMAZING! You can go eat at the sister resorts, but we never did. Buffet was pretty good as well. Nothing gourmet but it was good. We went to the casino at night and had a blast. Didn't win millions, but oh well :) .... Drinks at the resort were great, but pace yourself!! One thing to be aware of are the people selling 'excursions'... They don't really give you all the details. We went to Catalina Island which was so beautiful, but it was an all day ordeal and we weren't told that. So just be aware of that. Also, bring bug spray because the mosquitos ate up our legs!! Oh and you might want to brush up on simple Spanish phrases. The workers do not understand a lot of English, but it was not a big issue. Overall, we rate this trip a 9.5 out of 10 and will definitely be returning to Punta Cana for sure!!!!"
