"It all started great UNTIL we arrived at the hotel! they had two weddings there and overbooked the hotel. When we arrived, all the rooms were taken and they put us in another hotel away from the family we were traveling with, the sink didn't work, it was family orientated and we specifically picked the elegance because it was adults only!! They told us because we are not staying in the Majestic Elegance hotel, we couldn't enjoy the same activities or restaurants we PAID FOR! after 3 hours of HELL we received our bracelets and were able to at least dine and drink at the same places I should have been allowed to in the first place. they told me that this was an issue and if I called them and they faxed a letter they would see what they could do. they finally gave us the room for one day (the last night) and gave us a voucher that was only good at basically nothing in an all inclusive!! The other hotel was NOT an all inclusive and... well anyone can imagine how we felt... Vacation was ruined in my opinion!!!The hotel didn't help us either...... But they took our money just fine!!!"

"We stayed at this place last year and I can already see a difference. We reserved a room with a jacuzzi....the jacuzzi did not work. There were tiles missing in the pool and service in the Americana buffet restaurant was horrible. One day our beverages did not come until we were standing to leave. We will go back to Punta Cana next year, not sure if we will stay at the same place."

"My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at Majestic Elegance. We loved it! The staff was very friendly and understanding of our lack of Spanish language skills. They were hospitable and made us really feel welcome. We got the Elegance Club Oceanview Suite and it was just amazing. It was large and beautiful. The Elegance Club allowed us access to a private beach, private lounges and other benefits. They were also very hospitable to us for our honeymoon with champagne, private beach dinner, private breakfast in our room, and other very romantic surprises. We would highly recommend this resort."

"My husband and I just got back from our week long honeymoon yesterday. We upgraded to the Elegance Club, which was somewhat worth it for the private pools, Adults only, access to certain parts of the resort, and a section of the beach. Our butler was really nice and generally helpful. He answered our questions and checked on us almost everyday to see if we needed anything. Our 'complimentary gifts' were hats - pretty lame.
TRAVEL: Getting to and from the resort was perfect. We used VIP and they were always on time. Upon arrival - the resort was hectic with all of the people arriving at the same time. They shuffled groups of people around until they could figure out where to put us.
ROOM: Our room smelled HORRIBLE - like mold. The bed was absolutely disgusting. I felt like I was laying down on a damp old sponge. You could see mold growing in the the fabric of the chairs and the lamp shades. I didn't complain because I figured all of their rooms would be the same. The robes they provided were gross (looked used) - we didn't even touch them. Don't forget to bring a loofah or washcloths (which are not provided). The toilets are square - which is just uncomfortable. The shower is nice, but we sometimes didn't have hot water. There are not drawers to put clothes away - just closet space. The Jacuzzi is OK - nothing wrong with it, but I wasn't impressed. The water wasn't very warm and it's a little small for two people. The A/C worked great - our room was often too chilly, but it does have the ability to adjust it yourself.
BEACH: Some rooms have beach bags provided, but I would bring your own anyway. You have to check out your beach towels, I HIGHLY recommend bringing your own beach towels. Just hang them out to dry every day. Otherwise they will run out if you don't get yours in time. The water was gorgeous and the perfect temperature. It was a bit wavy with seaweed, but that didn't stop us from getting in the water. They provided entertainment everyday just behind the lounge chairs. It was a bit loud and not very peaceful - but it was very entertaining and we even participated a few times. If you want relaxation on the beach, I suggest going early in the morning or afternoon - not in the middle of the day. The lounge chairs and shaded areas were perfect. There is no sunset because of the direction of the beach. I would get up early one day to see the sunrise.
POOL: The pools were perfect. Absolutely no complaints. We never had a problem finding a chair through out the day. The swim up bar was really nice. I was always clean and there was always someone to pick up your trash and take your drink order. The bartenders were really nice and will usually give you whatever you ask for. I suggest tipping them for better service.
DRINKS: The Margaritas were HORRENDOUS. Their 'Majestic' drink is good - taste like a dreamsicle - but is a bit too sweet to drink a lot of. You have to try a 'Dirty Monkey' that has chocolate, banana, rum, and coconut milk. Its delicious! The whole time we were in the DR they wouldn't stop talking about their island drink called 'Mama Juana.' It's some sort of mixture of spices, red wine, honey, and rum - I think. I thought it was weird.
FOOD: Just OK. I basically lived off of their croissants for breakfast. French Toast is good. We went to the breakfast in the Italian restaurant on the last day. It was SLOW, but their pancakes were probably the best I've ever had. The Japanese restaurant is just OK - not worth stressing about making a reservation their. The Italian restaurant is delicious. I ordered the eggplant parm. It was AMAZING but it didn't come with pasta or anything so I was still hungry. The steak restaurant was good. Nothing amazing but not bad either. The power went out several times during our meal (Not because of a storm). One night we had dinner on the beach for being honeymooners. It was VERY pleasant. Service was a little slow but we didn't care because we enjoyed the beach. We never had to wait to get a table at any of the restaurants.
SERVICE: We had a mixture of great service and bad service. Pretty typical of an average resort. We had waitresses hover over our table until we left to take the tip. We also had genuine people give us great service. Some of the concierges were really nice and some were just rude. We learned to deal with it and tip accordingly. Be sure you make all of your reservations the day you get there.
GROUNDS: The grounds were pretty much clean and beautiful. But the poor quality of our room outweighed the cleanliness of the resort.
OTHER: You must go on an excursion - going to the beach/pool everyday gets old and the excursions are great. We paid $80 PP and went on a safari all day. We really enjoyed it. We used VIP and bavaro runners. Our tour guide was awesome!
Would we go back? NO - only because of the moldy room."

"I want to preface this review by saying that I don't have super high standards when it comes to hotels nor am I a diva about the places I stay in. I also don't usually feel compelled to write reviews on places whether they be good or bad. However, this time I felt the need to express my extreme dissatisfaction/disappointment with this whole experience. I recently went here for a family member's wedding and it was my first time at an all inclusive resort. We got the Elegance Club package which cost more but provided no specific perk other than the fact that your section is child free. They promise an exclusive lounge and a private beach but in all honesty nobody checks your bracelet at either of these exclusive places so any other guest who paid less than you can just waltz in. From the moment we checked in we had nothing but problems with our room. The air conditioning is on a sensor and was off when we walked in, so our room was roasting. Also our refrigerator was unplugged and it seemed to take 2 days for it to cool the drinks inside of it, but even with the fridge on full blast the drinks were only ever lukewarm at best. Since we checked in later in the day we were told that we couldn't get beach/pool towels until the next day and that in order to get them we needed to ask the front desk for a towel card and then exchange them for a towel. Nobody would bring us a towel to go to the beach. Period. They said this was their rule and everyone had to follow it, even though it makes absolutely no sense! You don't give beach towels out after a certain time? A half hour later a man came up to us in the pool and told us we had to go out and that there was no swimming after 6. Are you kidding me?! No night swimming at all because that's the time they put the chemicals in the pool. I understand the pool needs constant upkeep but I guess they've never heard of night swimming before? Can't they put the chemicals in at a time where nobody would be in the pool, like around 1 AM or so? They even have people patrolling around the pool to make sure you don't get in. Of course if you 'tip' them they won't kick you out. Maybe it's just me but I don't like the idea of bribing my own hotel so I can swim in their pool that I paid them to swim in in the first place. After putting up with the stupid pool rule, I went back to my room to iron a shirt for dinner. Iron was broken. We had to call someone to come replace it. 20 minutes later we have a new iron. Dinner was disastrous and disgusting. The food they served up at the Argentine steak house was absolute slop. Throughout the next few days we learned that there are certain places to go and certain things you have to eat in order to have a decent meal. Forget about room service for a midnight snack because by the time you get the food that comes to your door which is served on a warm plate covered in Saran wrap, you will have fallen asleep. Upon returning to our room on the first night, we tried to turn the TV on which *surprise* didn't work! It took someone 30 minutes to get to the room and fix the TV set, who we felt compelled to tip as well. I almost felt like the hotel did these things on purpose so that we would call their staff to come fix them and give them more money. It was absolutely appalling. After all of these problems, stupid rules and regulations that didn't make any sense and the feeling that you're not a special client even after paying to be treated like one, I can say that I am certain there are better resorts around Punta Cana where you can spend your money, get better service and not have to succumb to nonsensical hotel rules. The beach and the pools were absolutely beautiful and the staff was very courteous and kind. However, we're talking about Punta Cana here and those are basic services/amenities you should expect at any resort around the area. If I were you I would avoid this hotel like the plague and find a place that is truly majestic and elegant."

"Overall, it was a B . The staff is mostly friendly, but some of the bartenders would act bothered to have to get you a drink.
Our room smelled a little mildew-ish as well.
The beach was beautiful and the food was decent for the most part. The room service took over an hour and was not very good - only ordered it 3 times in 8 days."

"Buyer beware, this hotel is a 3 star on it's best day. I have enjoyed many places around the world that taut the 4-5 star label, and I truly believe that FOOD should be a major factor in it's determination. I have stayed at the Ritz Carlton Maui ( 5 star in my opinion), The Westin Maui Resort & Spa (4-5 star hotel), Riu Hotels in (Cabo San Lucas, Cancun : 4 stars), and Cabo Azul (4 stars) among many others. So when I booked this hotel, the 4.5 to almost 5 stars, made choosing this hotel a 'no-brainer'. I did my due diligence to research the hotel on trip advisor and various internet booking sites, and I determined that for the price, it met my high expectations. Boy was I WRONG!!! In this review I will detail every component of what I loved and HATED about this hotel and the country.
LOVE list:
1. The people are very friendly and not pushy- unlike many other Caribbean countries i.e. Jamaica. My husband and I felt very safe in our hotel and when we ventured outside of the property.
2. The beaches are beautiful, nice turquoise water, and lukewarm water temp.
3. The hotel building, lobby, and pool were very nice and clean.
4. My husband and I went for our anniversary and they put a 'HAPPY ANNIVERSARY' banner on our door, which remained there for our entire trip. I thought that was really cooll!
HATE list:
1. Five restaurants: All pretty horrible. Let me get on my tangent about the food. I work in the educational field, and once in awhile I will eat in the cafeteria so I get get some work done. School lunch is well, disgusting, but not inedible. This hotel serves and presents inedible food. Let me provide some examples: breakfast consisted of runny eggs, french toast with a hard boiled egg stuffed inside, bacon ( thank god they couldn't mess that up), rock hard pancakes, weird cheese platter (lukewarm ), mystery meats (way-way-way-way past well-done), prison style oatmeal w/ no condiments , fruit ( it was good), fresh squeezed juices (they were good), and hard- concrete stale breads. Yum.. Yum.. can't wait for lunch right? Lunch: mystery meats PLUS deli meats ( both of which are being held under a heated light bulb tray), lukewarm cheese again, hard bread, nachos ( not even 7-11 quality), hamburgers that are burnt to death and gray colored, hot dogs on a spiral carousel , and pizza with bits of CORN on it. Just recounting the food is making me what to throw- up it was that bad. Dinner: must make a reservation by 8am, maybe it's just us , but WHO wakes up before 10 am when they are on vacation? We ate at the 'italian' restaurant, I had the ravioli and my husband had the spaghetti. It tasted like 'italian' food that you might pick up when your desperate to eat something at the mall. And I hope that you like Cesear dressing, because they DO NOT have any other dressing flavors, not blue cheese, Italian ( how do you not have Italian dressing at an Italian resturant?), no Ranch... only Cesear. Don't ask for oil and balsamic vinegar, because you will get oil and literally the 'white vingear' you use to clean floors. The bread was hard and stale no matter which restaurant you eat in, so just forgot about wasting your carb allowance. The French restaurant was ok, nothing good, but nothing bad. My saving grace was the steak restaurant. We ate at this place everyday for five days- because it was the best of what we were offered. The beef was good, well seasoned, and came with mashed potatoes, corn, or rice. The 'sushi' bar was laughable, it consisted of five 8x11 trays of non- refrigerated California rolls- which were never replenished unless every piece was consumed. My husband and I checked this out ourselves, we literally stopped into the 'sushi' holding area before we went to the steak house and then afterwards, and the same amount and type were still being offered. One tray had 2 pieces of weird sushi for at least 2-3 hours. If you live in a major metropolitan area, like we do, this sushi will border on offensive. Beverages were ok, they serve Pepsi, cheap booze, and one type of beer. We aren't big drinkers, but I would have liked to have soda available in cans. They pour more ice than soda, and unless you guzzle it quickly, you will be drinking a flat soda in like 3 minutes. Desserts were weird fruit glazed pies with thick clear icing, and dark chocolate cakes with crushed nuts , and gelatin formed cakes that no one has eaten since the 1960's.
2. During day three, I told my husband that I wanted to get some good food, and at this point I would be willing to pay. Taxi ride one- way starts at $20, and costs us $50 including tip to eat at a restaurant off of the hotel property. When you do return from outside of the hotel, be prepared to see private security guards holding gigantic shotguns. I guess you need these guys to have Americans feel safe?
3. I hope you sleep like a rock, because you will be awaken every morning by the hotel housekeeping. They shout to each other to 'get soap', or 'did you clean that room'. If you must, please pack ear plugs.
4. The hotel rooms have weird components: square toilet, 11x14 sized pillows (standard size for a toddler), mini bar with useless drink options like 'off branded' orange drinks, and 'off branded' chocolate bars yet, they don't put a Twix or Snickers in your room, but they will charge you $3 for one in their gift shop. Also, the hotel walls are paper thin, we heard our neighborhood to the right several times. So, again bring the ear plugs.
5. The entertainment in comparable to an off-off-off-off-off-off-off Broadway/ dance show. We watched ten minutes of the performance, and then left. The total crowd in the audience was 7 including two children, who were jumping from one seat to the other. I thought they were more entertaining than the paid performers.
Overall, I would never, ever return to this resort unless it's was free and ONLY if they would provide a car so I could eat elsewhere. To make it worst, we shared a ride to the airport with a couple who raved about the Hard Rock... Lesson learned, when you see so many reviews about the bad food, maybe there is truth to what they are saying. Please heed my warning, and research this hotel.
p.s. I know that I talked a lot about the food, and you might guess I'm 500 pounds. I'm not, I just like to have great quality food, especially if the food is included and it's the only place where I can eat."

"We just returned from another week's stay at the beautiful Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana, DR. This was our second trip and we sure hope to return soon. The weather was wonderful, the food was great, the drinks are always plentiful, the hotel is beautiful but the best thing about the entire place is that the people are so warm and friendly. The grounds and pools are very pretty and are well maintained. We especially liked the Elegance Club, it is well worth the money. The staff is always so helpful regardless of what you may need. We enjoyed our butler Cesar, he came to check on us every single day. We enjoyed the friendship of our bartenders. At the pool we enjoyed the always smiling faces. From the housekeepers to the guys who picked up trash and seaweed along the beach, everyone always had a smile on their face and was there when you needed them. It is simply hard to imagine why anyone would be disappointed with such beautiful place and such beautiful people, we would highly recommend to anyone wanting a dream vacation. We plan to return soon!!!!"

"My Husband and I went to the Majestic Elegance club from August 25 to September 1st. We had a wonderful time. Our room was clean, and lovely. it was spacious for us for the week and the grounds were constantly being cleaned, from the beach to the pool areas. I would recommend upgrading to the Elegance club so you have access to the Lounge which offers free coffee and drinks all day long along with snacks and with the elegance club you get kid free areas to swim if you prefer the pool. The beaches are amazing the water is blue and warm the beach is clean and there are many fun activities going on all day. There is music at night, and then a show at 10:00 the majestic entertainment group was terrific, they kept the crowd going. The best bartender ever was Johel in the main bar he spoke little English but like all the staff always smiled and took great care of us. Everyone went out of there way for us. It was a wonderful stay. The food was good and there is plenty of it. It is different than we are use to here, so trying different restaurants was fun. The steak house and the French Restaurant were the best! We had a wonderful time the only thing that we can say was not good was the laundry and all 3 of my husbands shirts were ruined just don't use it. They did not charge us and we were leaving when we realized it, the manager gave us his card and said he would take care of us when we come back to call him and he will take care of us. We did do an excursion which was wonderful it was the snuba diving and motor boats, and snorkling. It was lots of fun. I really enjoyed it enough to go back again. Due to some trouble with the airlines we stayed an extra night they put us in another esort it was nice clean but I really enjoyed the beach. One outstanding hotel. With all that went on before our stay Thank you! one great week.."

"The resort rooms were filthy and rundown. I requested to switch my room after finding stains and make-up on all THREE of the comfortable beds. In addition, there was dirt in the jacuzzi. When I requested a room, the front desk seemed annoyed and bothered by my request. Overall the staff wasn't pleasant with some seemed bothered when you requested for things at the bar or in the restaurants.
The restaurants and food was OK, as long as you eat within the first hour of serving time. The location also needs serious air conditioning. The waitstaff was sweaty when serving drinks.
I will NEVER recommend this place and I'm quite surprised that they've received four stars out of five."

"LIke previous stated comments yes each person has to pay $10 USD to get into the Dominican Repuplic, but its fast and easy to get through. The PUJ airport is not like any airport in USA. OPen to air and pretty deserted on a weekday, weekend however is CRAZY. Once we got through and paid not knowing any better just hopped in the first cab i saw with my husband and left. we each paid 20 USD to go 20 min to resort. Not terrible, but found out later that at the airport there are stands with people who work for companies that have agencies take you to resort for 13 USD a piece and vans are very nice and clean with air-conditioning. once we got to the resort we checked in ELEGANCE CLUB which is a very weird checkin. you go into a room and they check passports hand you a drink and slap a bracelet on your wrist, which by the way don't lose it or your out 90 a bracelet which lets staff know what part of resort you belong. GREAT BUTLER to escort to room and give quick tour of resort. i recommend having the passport 'map' in hand for the first 2 days bc its a rather large resort and once you get lost its quite a hike back. the room was great beside the fact that a couple days we didn't get fresh towels but once i phoned housekeeping they were there within minutes. You also get towel cards for the pool and beach, but one thing i did not like is that i felt by paying a substantial amount of $$ to be in the elegance club i should have had a new towel everyday, but if you did not catch the wondering pool boy you were out of luck, so 2 out of 7 days no new towels, bring a few extra just in case, i will for sure next time. OVERALL i give the resort 3.5 stars only because the food was no so great, and many other guests at this resort as well as other resorts in DR stated same thing, so i actually did not gain the anticipated 8 pounds like i do on cruise ships.
Place was nice, could be better.Once in the Dominican was enough for me.... LEARN TO SPEAK SPANISH a little before you come, will be handy i promise... DRINKs to try..... The Toucan, The Majestic, MAMA Juana, you ll have a good time"

"There were a handful of wonderful staff members that we interacted with who went above and beyond for us. Other than that, I found the staff to be unattentive and down right rude at times - could not be bothered. This resort does not have poolside service for lunch nor are they consistent with their drink service at the pool or beach. We made the best of it. Dinners were great!
The staff definitely needs hospitatlity training. That could make this successful resort one of the MOST desireable locations you offer customers in this area."

"I It was fantastic. The Hotel was supberb and great. The people and staff were excellent, friendly and awesome.too. Room service took time but that was OK. The food was delicious and what a variety, absolutely awesome. The only thing was the Extreme ATV Buggy ride was very very poor in quality and very inefficient staff. Not recommended at all. The staff and the ATVs need a big improvement in quality and efficiency. Not up to standard at all. Not organized and this should not be recommended to any traveller until major improvements done. But on the whole the trip was excellent, The Dolphin experience was fantastic, so was the snorkelling. The island trip to Saona was good but the food absolutely awful. We enjoyed ourselves and would definitely do it again minus the ATV and the Saona excursions. "

"Great hotel! I highly recommend it. Here are some of our take aways. Our family of 7 went (5 kids ranging from 17 - 21). They do a GREAT job with a variety of activities and evening entertainment.
EXCURSION: We did the dune buggy excursion on a rainy day - which was the BEST! It gave us something to do fun in the rain.
ELEGANCE CLUB: For us, the elegance club was NOT worth the cost ($70 per person per night). The only thing we seemed to miss by not doing this was the cool wrist bands, eating for lunch at the Italian restaurant, and free wifi.
INTERNET:They provide wifi for $3 per hour in the hotel lobby. They give you an old cable to hook up in your room (all of our kids had to call tech support to get them to work) and charge $10 per day.
RESTAURANTS: French was great for my husband and I - very romantic. Steak was ok. Our service was bad, but I think that was unusual. The BUFFET rocks! Great choices, great service. JAPANESE was awesome. We went there twice. Japanese and French require reservations, which you need to make at 8 am the day of.
MISC: My only other thought is that they did not provide lotion in the room (but did provide shampoo, conditioner, soap and bath gel) so we had to buy lotion in the store, which was $10 a bottle. With all the sun, we needed lotion and paid for it. Overall a GREAT choice!"

"Arrival to the punta cana was easy and quick. paid $10 entrance fee for customs and went to look for the VIP services we signed up for as our transportation to and from the resort. there were a lot of people trying to get us to use their transportation but it wasn't pushy or a big deal.
the bus ride to the resort wasn't what I was expecting at all and I was a little upset to see the way the Dominicans live. it was a real rude awakening. Upon arrival to the resort we were greeted by our butler. He was very nice and friendly. he got us our welcome drink, key for our room and took us on a tour.
our room was the junior suite with jacuzzi inside. it was a complete dump. the AC didn't work, the walls had major water damage and the roof was peeling. we stuck it out for two nights and finally complained. our butler was nowhere to be found so another person took over and he was amazing. he got us upgraded to a one bedroom suite with the jacuzzi on the balcony and one inside our room, and I couldn't have been any happier. the view was perfect! we had the pool right outside our room and the beach right there. our new butler even brought me chocolate covered strawberries which he overheard me mention they were my favorite.
we signed up for the adventure boogie excursion for $55 which was cool. you drive on offloads, by the beach and get to jump off a cliff into a cave with water. we also did the sea trek which wasn't worth it at all for $95. you walk on the ocean floor for 10 minutes and spend 6 hours partying on a boat. ou also get to snorkel and swim with a shark but you do that for about 5 minutes. we also did the couple package at the resort for $300 and this was AMAZING! they cover your body in chocolate, give you a facial and massage.....amazing. the couples package is for 2-3 hours of bliss.
regarding food.. the French restaurant was amazing! I got the lamb. the hibachi restaurant was amazing! they give lot of shrimp. the Italian was good not great. the seafood restaurantwas terrible. our food came overcooked aka burnt or not even hot at all. we didn't get to eat at the steakhouse but I heard it was good. the buffet on the resort had good tasting food for lunch and dinner but we ended upsetting sick for 4 days and kind of ruined our stay a bit.
room service was amazing too oddly enough. all our breakfast was from room service. in the book they give you upon arrival says room service will take 45 mins and that is very true but not a big deal. just plan your meals and your fine.
I went with $800 and came back with $400. We were there from 7/27 to 8/3. the elegance club lounge offers free wifi and some snack foods. there's computers to use and a printer if needed. but your on vacation relax and enjoy. there's free activities like snorkeling, kayaking, boogie boarding, catamaran.

"Overall experience, and quality was quite good, so we would recommend others to go. The staff were very friendly throughout our stay. We do have several compaints however. Firstly, upon arrival we were suppose to have a welcome fruit basket in our room, and a 'honeymooners' banner on our door. After 3 days of inquiring, we finally had a small plate of watermelon and pineapple in our room, and the banner on our door. Another issue we had was that for the last 3 days of our stay, the mini-fridge in our room was not working. It would not keep any drinks cold, and there was a puddle of water at the bottom of the fridge. We notified the front desk every morning and night and it was never even looked at by the staff. Lastly, during our 7 day stay, the cleaning persons did not change our bedsheets. They only made the bed. I know this because the same stain was on the comforter every day. As well, we were in the room on two occassions the room was cleaned.
On another note, the food was great, the drinks were stiff, and the entertainment was plentiful. The only complaint about the food was when my wife ordered a 'well done' steak from the French restaurant, and when she cut into it, it was medium rare. She ate it anyways. The resort was absolutely stunning which would be the reason we would return.
I've heard some good things and some bad things about the resort before we went, but no matter where you go, there's always someone that has had an issue with one service or another. My best advice is too look at the location, then the price range, then the resort reviews, pictures, and lastly what's included in your package. Punta Cana is way better then Puerto Plata. Also, zip lining was crazy fun. I hope this helps."

"We had the Elegance Club Junior Suite With Jacuzzi - Adult Only 18
The Rooms: Very big. The air conditioning works well. Weird square toilettes. Chairs were worn in as well as the bed and the pillows sucked! I ordered new pillows and they were foam, still no good. Robes looked like they were worn by 1,000 people.
Room Service: Called them a couple of times, It took 45min every time. Only way to eat when nothing is open. Cant order anything off the menu not even change pasta sauce.
Room Cleaning:They are very conservative with their towels for the beach. Never got the jacuzzi bubbles that they asked if we wanted. They cleaned it every day and never got in our way.
Beach: Lots of chairs for us to sit on. Never fought for a chair. No were to lay out on the beach sand. Water was clean no trash only seaweed.
Alcohol: They only sold one kind of beer, Presidente, which was very good. All-in-all, they made me whatever I wanted & it was good but not great. Either way to strong or way too sweet.
Food: Good for an all-inclusive. I cant compare it to any other place but good variety of food. Always had something safe to eat.
Staff: Very friendly. Some don't speak english very well, but they try. Be sure to take some $1s to tip them! Felt like everyone wanted a tip.
We had a nice time here but would probably stay somewhere else next time just to try something new.

"This resort is more than 5 star... it was FABULOUS! The nicest all inclusive we've ever stayed. The staff and service was impeccable, and the layout of the resort is amazing. If you go, you need to pay the very little it costs to do the Elegance Club. So worth it. We had a private butler at our call, and had a fully stocked bar in our room everyday. We utilized the private pool areas, extra restaurants, etc. Well worth it. Can't wait to go back."

"Very disappointed in the food, service and staff support. Impossible to get towels as others have previously stated. If you lost a beach towel or room key, you would get reprimanded by the staff. Resort is in need of repairs. On the plus side, food in the French and Japanese restaurants was very good as was the Italian restaurant. Buffets were poor. Our son got married at the hotel and they did a wonderful job on their wedding ceremony and the food at the reception was truly outstanding. Too bad the rest of the food was not this good. Many in our party got sick also but unable to determine what caused their illnesses as we did not, Would not return nor would we recommend this hotel. "

"My husband and I booked our honeymoon to the Majestic Elegance in April. We found the resort from looking online at all-inclusive resorts. On the website i was told that we would get a room upgrade as long as we brought a copy of our marriage certificate...and when we got there and showed them our copy they took it and said ok, but then never gave us the upgrade. They just took us to the room we had already paid for. We also booked our room in the 18 area of the resort which really is a waste of money, its nothing more special than if you pay less for the normal area of the resort. Also, for paying for an ALL-INCLUSIVE resort, i expect to be able to drink and eat as much as my heart desires, however this didnt happen either. They had time restriction and clothing restrictions on EVERY single restaurant and almost every bar. Which was very frustrating because who wants to plan everything they do on what outfit they are wearing or what time of day your allowed to eat. And if you wanted to eat at any of the nicer restaurants you had to get up around 7:30, go downstairs and wait in line to make a reservation to the one you wanted, and half the time all the reservations would all be taken already by the time it was your turn to ask for one.
Also, with the staff you had about a 50/50 shot. They were either very nice or didnt care at all about the service they were providing. And the last thing i will complain about is i truly believe one of the ladies who rang us up in one of the gift shops totally ripped us off. We bought 6 shot glasses and she said it was $57...and another woman REFUSED to make change for my husband even though she had a drawer full of ones and fives. All in all, were the beaches beautiful? YES, but for an all- inclusive resort, i was very dissapointed.
AND THEY EXPECT A TIP EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU ASK FOR ANYTHING...SO IF YOU STILL DECIDE TO GO THERE, A WORD OF ADVISE, TAKE A LOT OF ONES!!!!
Hopefully this helps some of you :)

"My husband and I stayed here a week for our honeymoon June 18-25.
Rooms: Big room, big bed, tiny pillows. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable but it could have been worse. The shower and toilet are not very private at all. The toilets are square and pretty uncomfortable. The room was kept pretty clean. One night we had water dripping from a light in the ceiling- i guess the air conditioner was leaking . They repaired it quickly and everything was fine. One day we weren't given towels when they cleaned the room, and our first night there was no hot water in the resort. I believe they recycle the shampoo, conditioner, etc because I opened one and water and a hair dripped out as if it had been in someone elses' shower. Gross!
Room Service- I wouldn't bother. We ordered chicken quesadillas and they were cold and not very good. Took about 45 minutes.
Beach: The beach is beautiful! Definitely the best part of the vacation. The water was great! We never had a problem finding chairs or umbrellas. There were always staff picking up trash and offering drinks. The pools were also nice and clean with plenty of seats, but we spend most of our time at the beach.
Food: The biggest disappointment. There were some things that were OK, but nothing very good. The best meal we had was filet at the steak house. The Japanese restaurant was decent, as was the Italian. The buffet has lots of options, but nothing particularly good. At breakfast everything was always cold. We weren't expecting awesome food, but the last all inclusive we stayed at was WAY better!
Staff: They were great. Very friendly. Some don't speak english very well, but they try. Be sure to take some $1s to tip them!
If we hadn't stayed at a place we really liked in Mexico a couple years ago, we probably would have liked this place more. We had a nice time here but would probably stay somewhere else next time just to try something new.

Brad from Hershey, PA
"We returned last night from our trip to Punta Cana for our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful and very relaxing 6 days. I would love to come back!
Staff: We have nothing but good things to say about the staff. They were very helpful. The tour given by our butler, helped so much to orient us to the property. He took care of us as soon as we got off the bus from the airport. He met us at the front desk, escorted us to the Elegance Club check-in and had us all set in a few minutes. Then he set us up with a few welcoming drinks and took us on a walking tour to our room.
Language: It is true that many of the supporting staff cannot communicate very well in English, but else what would you expect in a Spanish-speaking country? Concierge and desk services personnel spoke flawless English and we had no problems. The housekeeping staff was very polite and accommodating. There were a couple of times were we asked for extra towels, shampoo or bath gel, which made for an interesting game of charades, but we had fun learning some Spanish words in the process.
Tips do help assure better service. We generally tipped about $1 per drink at the bar and if dinner service was exceptional, we left $5 at the table in the restaurants. Since we come from Hershey, I brought along a box of plain chocolate bars and used them as "tips... in addition to dollar bills. These were treasured! I brought $100 in ones along with another $100 in fives and tens for the week and had plenty of tipping power.
Restaurants: Of the restaurants available, the only one that we did not visit was the Italian restaurant. I'd heard from others at the resort that this was their favorite, but ours was the French restaurant. Service was terrific and the food was tasty and well presented. I thought the Sea and See was just alright. Our experience with the service there was not the greatest, although the view compensated well for any lacking in the cuisine or staff. 9 Doors, the Japanese hibachi restaurant was good, but about the same as any other strip mall hibachi restaurant you may have at home. The sushi in the center of the restaurant was very good and available for walk-in service.
Reservations need to be made early! Make sure to arrive at the concierge desk by 8 am to ensure that you get a reservation at your preferred time. The restaurant of highest demand l in our experience is 9 Doors.
Room: We had an Elegance Club junior suite which was beautiful and very clean. A few things about the rooms. Make sure to keep both of the doors shut to maintain air conditioning. If one door is not completely closed the AC will shut off in your room. The water is very hard and lather is nonexistent. Internet service Is available (see "WiFi... below).
Amenities:
WiFi: Internet access is available in some of the Elegance Club lounges, but there is no WiFi that covers the entire resort. Wired internet service is available in your room and a cable is available at the concierge desk for $10. You get your money back when you turn in the cable at checkout. If I had to do it over again, I'd just pack a short cable.
Buffets: I actually really enjoyed the buffet breakfasts. Try the hot chocolate. The fresh juices are amazing. There is a crepe line an omelet line and an egg line. My wife loved the crepes! We had a cooked to order breakfast at the Italian restaurant which really did not compare to what was available in the buffet line.
Lunch and dinner at the buffet restaurants were OK. Typical of what you might expect at an all-inclusive resort.
Entertainment: We were able to make it to one of the 10 PM shows the last night we were there (the Circus Show). It was very good, but after a few drinks and lounging in the sun all day, I was ready for to head back to the room before its conclusion. Never made it to the Michael Jackson show, which I hear is also quite good.
Pools: Beautiful and very clean. The pool areas can get pretty hot since they are contained within the building complexes and there is no direct breeze from the beach. We spent most of the time on the beach.
Bars: Tons of bars and very knowledgeable bartenders. Try the Mama Juana, but not too many! Dinks are served in small plastic cups, but if we were wise, we would have packed some insulated plastic coffee mugs for use around the pool and on the beach. Wait staff visits you relatively frequently on the beach for your drink orders and are pretty efficient. The only beer on tap is El Presidente%u2014not bad: The facility is very clean and generally well-maintained. There was a spinning class every morning at 8, which our friends enjoyed. I used the treadmills and weights on the first floor. All settings on the machines are in km/hr and weights are also metric. Towels were scarce.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and would return in a heartbeat.

"We had a GREAT vacation. Very relaxing, NOT the Spring Break scene you can get in other places, not to say we couln't find a party when we wanted! Food was good quality, good variety and provided a taste of the Dominican. The scale of the resort was nice. Small enough to make everything conveneint but big enough to offer a variety of resturants, pools and shows. Felix and Maxima were the BEST bartenders at the pool side bar. Bito created a party at the upstairs terrace bars from 6 to 9. And Kenya was the friendliest in housekeeping. The spa was great as well. Like how easy it was in and out of Punta Cana airport, easy as anything and close to the resort. We were at the resort and enjoying a drink within an hour of getting off the plane. "

"To begin, I must say the stretch of beach the resort is on is beautiful! The weather was great during our stay as well. Unfortunately, the resort was not as expected for a 5 star. The food was not good, the service was only fair, and the resort is in need of repair. We stayed in a swim up suite in the adult elegance section. The concierge area near our room had a terrible odor, as well as the surrounding area on the sidewalk nearby. One day our room was not cleaned at all, and getting towels was a real challenge. We asked multiple times for diet soda in our mini fridge in the room, and that never happened until we left a note on the fridge with $ attached with it. Tipping did not seem to improve the service much. On a good note, the lobby bar was by far the best part of our stay! The bartenders there did take care of you and were friendly. At the pool bars and swim up bar the drinks were subpar. Frozen drinks were not really frozen, drinks were watered down etc. Overall, the resort does not compare to other all inclusive resorts we have stayed in ( Secrets, RIU, etc)."

Only minus is the staff is not as friendly sometimes as you would wish. But it is well staffed and everyone is working hard to maintain the property and ensure you are taken care of. "First, I will start out with the hotel which was very nice and staff was really friendly. We met with Dario who was to be our butler and that was the extent of our interacion with him. We did not hear from him after that.rnOur room was nice. The safe and TV we had issues with. Safe was fixed but they could not fix the TV. Supposedly it was a resort wide issue. The one thing that was really irritating about bout of these issues was that you had to wait in you room for a person to show up and no timeframe can be provided. Also, don't ask for washcloths, they don't have even OR we never could get anyone to bring us some.rnHotel RestaurantsrnFlavors buffet- had great breakfast food and overall was the best place we ate at.rnII Bottaccio- very bland food and my husband was thrilled (not) when he ordered ravioli and there were 3 on his plate. We left there and went back to Flavors rnAsaditio-very good steak and chicknrn9 Doors- was very goodrnSee & Sea- ok food. Same stuff daily.rnrnThe one thing that I say about all of these places is don't bother trying to get a soda even though you were asked when seated. It took serveral requests and 10 -20 minutes later to get a soda.rnrnOther than that, this place had a great beach and we'd recommend it but, probably not go back since we had been to another resort in Punta Cana that was much better. Also, we were in the elegance club which did not seem much different from the other part.rn"

"This was the worst vacation I have ever taken. The resort was disgusting and filthy, and I spent 3 days in bed with food poisioning. the resort is nasty, we had ants in our room everyday, no bar service as promised, no towels available most of the days, and everything in the room is damp,(bed, couch, clothes, floor, which produces mold and mildew and the room smelled like mold). (When we got home our clothes were damp and smelled bad). The restaurants reuse cloth napkins with out washing, and flip the table clothes over after each guest, leaving you to sit at a table with stains, food and other peoples germs on it, and just reset the silverwear on dirty clothes. After seeing this happen numerous times in all the restaurants, (and the mildew everywhere) my wife started taking antibiotics for fear of catching something. I myself got food poisioning after the 2nd day, and was not the only guest that became sick,(as I heard the person in the next room requiring the doctor to come to their room). We made numerous attempts to contact the resort manager but he would not grant us a meeting. We filled out a formal complaint with the conceirge, which helped a little with the towel situation. Most activities shows were canceled due to rain, even though they have a huge open theater facility they dont use. The shop vendors are rude and will overcharge you if you dont know the exchange rate, as happend to my wife who did complain at the front desk, after purchasing some scarves, (when she went back and confronted the salesperson, she lied about the exchange rate and stated they charged sales tax which would have been 50% on the dollar). This is supposed to be a 5 star resort, we did not see that, and the service did not reflect that. Also, there is limited information informing of events and activities, and our butler did little to let us know of them, and then took 3 days vacation, and we were not contacted by his replacement. We made numerous complaints of our issues, but they were disregarded, and when I was sick in bed for 3 days, you think someone would have attempted to contact my wife, since she was on her own for those 3 days. You know its a bad vacation when you look forward to the meal on the airplane back home. They also warn you not to use the restrooms in the Punta Cana airport, but dont say why. Overall a terrible experience. I have traveled extensively, this isnt my first trip, so I know what I should expect as far as service. "

Jack from Palm Beach, Florida
"This was our first trip to this resort, and this place was great for what we were looking for, relaxing and the beach. We have traveled before to other hotels and in general we are not extremely picky. I believe this is why we enjoyed so much of our stay because the few issues that we saw was not enough to take down our mood. We booked the club Jr. Suite with Jacuzzi inside. If you can, try to go club, in our opinion it is the best way to go and the price difference is not that much but the service is definitely higher. Or at least it seems when I asked others guests that had not paid for the club. Cons: Everybody wants to hear the bad news first so here it is; 1- The word butler is miss-used as it seems to be actually a concierge service. Yet we knew this before hand due to other reviews so be warned. 2- Food: This is not for the extreme picky eaters or a culinary experience. The food is good at best and will recommend staying away from any meat that is under cooked. 3- Beach Towels: They run out fast during the day so make sure to get yours early in the morning. You would think they would have unlimited supplies of beach towels so that guests may always be at this hotels main attraction (THE BEACH). 4- Restaurant Reservations: We have been to other 'VIP Clubs' in other hotels and these clubs allow you to reserve at the time of check-in all the restaurants you wish to go to for the length of your stay. For some reason, here they make you go to the lounge or lobby to make a reservation. And you have to wake up early because the restaurants do fill up fast. 5- Amount of Staff: Half the hotel seems to be dedicated to Club which is supposed to be superior customer service. However the amount of people at the pool bars and the beach is the bare minimum. We had to wait quite a while to get drinks on the beach or pool. However we solved this issues by taking large mugs for drinks, however it is still a negative in my opinion because you should not be preparing yourself for a 'Lack of service' Pros: If you made it to this point of the review please read on, don't let the cons get you down. 1- Customer Service: They are extremely friendly! Everybody says hi with a happy face and will try their best to accommodate you or solve any issues. We truly believed in their effort and most of the times any complaints were dealt with very swiftly. 2- Beach: This has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. If not, it must be close to the top. Water is crystal clear, temperature is warm and waves are mild. If you paid for the club you will have your own section of the beach, tho we did stay a few times on the non-club side. Difference is no one will serve you drinks, on the club side someone will show up and ask you if you want anything to drink 3- Grounds: They are kept so clean and picture perfect that we think they work all the way through the night. It is just too clean! The maintenance personnel do try to be quiet, though I would suggest to get a room on a second floor or higher away from an access street to the side of the hotel. 4- Concierge service: I had a private dinner on the beach and several SPECIAL requests for my girl and they managed to get all the items and set everything as I described. This to me is just another example of excellent service and them going the extra mile. They went above and beyond what I asked and that made me and my girl very happy. 5- Rooms: We had mid range room in the elegance club and were completely satisfied with it. They cleaned it every day and new bathrobes and towels. If I really had to complained, would just complain about the bathroom having glass doors instead of regular doors. (I am just too picky on that one, I like some form of privacy while doing #2 that is all! LOL). 6- Food: Yes I said the food was not the best above, but, we ate a lot of stuff and never got sick one bit. So the food quality is above par for this hotel since I have seen reviews of other hotels were guests get sick and is a common thing. Not here, we heard no one complaining and we returned quite healthy from the hotel. 7- Tour Reps: They are all kept in check. If you want to take an excursion go to the lobby. If not, stay inside the hotel grounds and nobody will bother you trying to sell you an excursion. In all our experience with this hotel was very positive and we would recommend it to couples that want to just get away. This is an adult hotel and we saw very few children so if what you want is to relax, this is the place. "

"I left the Majestic Elegance on Monday. I went on a trip with my sister and I have to say that we had a great time the staff there was so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The food was fantastic where ever we ate. The entertainment was amazing. The music was fantastic and energizing making you want to get up and dance. The entertainment staff, all of them, including the director, we just soooo nice and got everyone involved in participating and making you feel like you were the most important person there. The hotel staff as well as housekeeping was fantastic. The hotel was very very clean. I would recommend the Majestic Elegance to anyone that wants to go on a fantastic vacation."

"Overall what you are reading from others is accurate. If you are used to upscale hotels, this is not it... We thought the food was just ok, by day 7 we were hoping to find something outside the resort for food because it all started to blend together. Drinks were average and the staff was friendly. Beach Massage and Spa were great! Buy the best room offered, we did but the hotel overbooked and we had to 'slum' it for the first 3 nights. DO NOT GO TO RANCH CARREBNO Horses... as an excursion, the horses are almost dead."

"My wife and I spent a fabulous week here last month. We're very pleased with the overall experience from the moment we checked in to the time we left. Have to agree with most reviews as to the food being ok, with the exception for my husband of the dark chocolate cake. The people were friendly and more than helpful. We would return without a second thought. Outstanding service and always smiling."

"This was my second trip to Punta Cana; first time at this resort. Went with two of my sisters. Short ride from airport; resort lobby is large and airy; greeted with rum drink (so good, tastes like a creamsicle); Japanese restaurant is a must do, requires same day reservation (get in line at 7:30 am); Italian restaurant very good (eggplant parmesan was fantastic); buffet offers a wide range of good food; we stayed in first floor swim up room with 2 double beds and roll away; beds were comfortable but room and beds were always damp even with air conditioning; bathroom and shower have frosted glass doors, square toilets (odd); marble floors get very slippery when wet, they give you those cheap slippers -- be sure to where them or flip flops! Patios also get slippery after rain; there's nice closet space; daily room service was good. Huge advantage if you speak Spanish. Maids really appreciate things they can't get; we shopped at dollar store before we left, brought a bag of kids toys, hair clips misc items that we gave as tips -- they loved it! There's no resort transportation, you walk everywhere. Nice spa but a long walk to and from. Ocean is beautiful, crystal clear aqua water; beach is clean and has a sea side restuarant. For being a newer resort we thought it was pretty run down. The dolphin island trip is so worth it; one of my sisters did the zip line, she said it was fantastic. If I go back to Punta Cana, I'll try a different resort."

"I have very mixed reviews of this resort. Overall esthetically its a nice hotel. Big resort to say the least - but well put together, clean, and fairly up to date. However if you 'peel back the onion' you see a few things that are somewhat disturbing for a so called 'higher-end' resort which prides itself on being called an exclusive club resort. First, the hotel rooms seem to lack a few basics as well as quality. How could you not have a face cloth in an upscale resort? Seems strange. The shampoo, body soap, and conditioner bottles are tiny and generally cannot be used after one day, which if you're in a super humid place it is possible to need 2 showers in a day. The pillows on the bed are super soft to the point that you need 3 to make one normal sized pillow. The AC works ok, though they could use a dehumidifier. The complimentary bottle of champagne tasted like carbonated beer, not champage. When you wrote down the suggested times for the rooms to be cleaned and other suggestions it seemed that those were ignored by housekeeping. So why bother asking guests to fill those forms out? During our trip a pipe was broken and we had no hot water for a day, not a big deal, but when you asked the front desk for a status update they would tell you in 30 minutes everything will be fine, which they repeated consistently to the point that it seemed scripted. The rules regarding getting a towel for the pool or the beach seemed a little strict. When using the gym there dont expect to see towels out unless you hunt the person there and request one. Another small complaint was the beds to lay out near the pools were pretty dirty, it would be have been nicer if they could changed the top sheet on a daily basis, but I am sure this sounds like nitpicking. Ok so lets talk about the BIGGER problems overall, not just specific to this resort the food is subpar at best. Quality and taste lacking and some of it gave us a stomach ache - not really something to look forward to. Its pretty sad when you're in a foreign country and you're looking forward to french fries, pizza, or chicken. The seafood was ehh which is sad because they are surrounded by water! My other big complaint was the overall attitude - yes there were a few happy people at our resort but overall most people seemed careless. No sort of urgency was ever felt on anything or happiness to be taking drink orders or being friendly in the casinos. The one person who spoke English well that we encountered remarked it was due to the very low wages the staff were paid and they relied solely on tips for income. So if thats the case wouldnt you think they would be charming the pants off of us - but no barely a smile from time to time and just seemed like they were either bored or miserable with their lives. Being a club person did not feel more special to me than being a regular member there and so I would recommend that unless its during school vacation, no need to pay the additional costs."

"This was my first all inclusve experience. I loved every minute of it. As soon as you walk in the staff treat you like Kings and Queens. Smoothest and nicest check in ever. I stayed for seven days and there were plenty of activites you can do for free on the resort. We played in the poker tounrament, ping-pong tournament, horse race, karoke games, and so much more. There also is a live show they put on every night of the week at 10pm. My only reccommendation for those traveling here is for a even better experience know enough Spanish to communicate with the staff. Most of the staff have a very limited understanding of basic English. But still enough to get most of the message correct. I took about 3 years of Spainish in High School and it really came in handy. Overall experience was amazing. The staff was extermely welcoming and nice as long as you treated them with respect.. They seemed to go the extra mile to make you happy. We made about 10 new facebook friends with the staff. Pricing is well worth its value. I will go back."

"This was my second time at this resort. All was wonderful, as expected. There are so many resorts in Punta Cana to choose from, not all good! If you are planning to go, instead of taking a chance on whether or not you have a good one, choose this one and be safe! If you are an adult and don't want kids around, there is a side of this resort just for you. If you must bring your children on your vacation, there is a side for you as well with plenty of things for this kids. It is a win-win experience!"

"Best trip ever! We loved it here and would love to go back. We went on our honeymoon and did the Elegance Club, it was amazing. I wanted to cry the day we were leaving. We recommend lockingall of your stuff.. the batteries in our safe died the 2nd night we were there so we had to wait until the next morning to get someone to fix it. Watch the dealers in the casino very carefully, had 21 in black jack and they tried to take my cards (I guess assumming I was too drunk to realize) but when I said something she immediately put my cards back out and paid me. I would skip the steak house next time, food wasn't nearly as good as the other places and it didn't seem as clean. Defintely, go to the italian and french place. Beinvenido cuevas was awesome! We loved him. STEER CLEAR of the mama juana.. i dont care what other people say we didn't remember A THING after having it.."

"The hotel was great. As soon as they found out it was our honeymoon they upgraded us to an ocean view suite free of charge. We look forward to returning there soon. The entertainment team was awesome. Have the mamma juana! The only issue they seem to have is with the towels. Room towels and beach towels are limited. You should bring some spares from home."

"Thoughts it was a very good resort. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was good (though not exceptional) and restaurant choices were good. The lounge areas in the club section were nice to be able to get out of the sun for a bit. Enteratinment options were good as well. Bars were plentiful and stocked with average liquor."

"We were a bit disappointed with the check in process. Though we had requested rooms next to each other (my kids were in one and my husband and I in another), they were in the same building, but different floors. I was given some excuse about the facility being full and some group who had stayed there for 30 years had preference. Then, they didn't tell us how the bell service worked, so it was hours before we got our bags. The boys' room had a broken air conditioner, but I will say that they fixed it promptly. After all that settled down, we had a great stay. It is very clean, beautiful and a good size. The food is good, as is the service. The entertainment, both during the day, and in the evening is very good. The spa is ok--not the best I've been to, but I enjoyed the services I received. We would definitely go back. (I will agree with several comments on Trip Advisor...they need to improve the quality of the bed linens.)"

"We stayed for 7 nights at the end of April. We have been to many all inclusives. We usually stay in Mexico (it's cheaper) but had to try this hotel as my parents call it their second home. We stayed in the club section as we wanted adults only. We did not pay alot more for club so it was ok. I did like having the club section to use the computers to skype my kids and grab a sandwich or water when needed. However the elegance club beach section is very crowded and not to enjoyable. We actually used the regualr elegance beach which had alot more room. You did not have to worry about hitting the chair behind you if you wanted to lay down. There really wern't alot of kids so it didn't matter. The resort grounds are very clean. There are always people cleaning up after the guests. The majority of the staff are very warm & friendly. The rooms are beautiful and housekeeping does a wonderful job. The food was ok. We liked the food in Mexico better. The ala carte's were not to good. But we never went hungry. The shows are the same as everywhere else. It's something to do and they work hard to do a good job. One negative is there was never any soap in the elegance club bathrooms. I told them about 4x a day then gave up and used the regular bathrooms. They always seemed to have the proper supplies and were actually cleaner. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again if the price was right."

"Our stay was amazing!! The room, the view, the food, staff, beach, pool,, EVERYTHING was just perfect. It was great having the ability to book snorkeling, parasailing, and other activities right on the beach of the resort. I would recommend this place to couple who want a more quiet and relaxing vacation. It was worth it with more access to bars and services! Already planning a trip back and our wedding there."

"The resort lived up to expectations in most ways. We had read that face cloths were hard to get and brought our own. It is a good thing we did! It took two days to get fresh face cloths. Also, the humidity in the room was very bad. It felt like we were in a water bed most nights and had to keep the air conditioning off. Besides that, it was a beautiful place with friendly staff, decent food and nice shows. We would recommend it to anyone coming to DR for the first time but would warn about the face cloths and the excursions. We thought they were too pricey and not up to expectations. We loved the drink 'majestic' and loved the fact that you could get a drink no matter where you were. It was a very nice vacation."

Wish It Was Better from RI
"Resort is nice but there are quirks that may grind you down. First. All power to the room goes out when you leave. Not just the AC, but the lights etc. If you spouse leaves the room while you are in the bathroom or the shower, you will have to make noise and clap your hands for the lights to come back on. Forget about trying to charge your phone or lap top while you are at dinner either, as the outlets will power down as you leave the room. The room had a constant dampness to it as the AC limit was hard coded in at 20.5C (69 F). But, each time you leave the room it will go off. So, your room only really gets cool at night,, but because you are not able to run dry air long enough during the day, your bed sheets feel damp, and like you are sleeping on wet sheets. It really has an effect on your ability to sleep. Beach Towels.... You will receive two beach cards that you exchange for towels each day. Each group of room buildings has a Concierge desk. They are there from around 7 to midnight,, but you can only get towels around 8:30AM and MUST return them by 5PM or you cannot get your key cards back the same day.. THis means you need to take these towels to your room and dry to dry them by hanging them on the porch.. But, due to the humidity, guess what? they don't dry very well. And if you accidentally forget and toss your towels in the laundry bin, you are charged $30 per towel to get new cards. Space at the pool is also at a premium and if you want to get a lounge chair at all you really need to have been out in the morning by 8:15AM, or your chances were slim. This is also about 15min earlier than you can get a towel. So, you become creative in how you try to 'save' or 'mark' your chair while you run to get a towel at the Concierge desk. If you wait too long, let's say by 11AM,the Concierge will have run out of towels and you will need to go try 'another' Concierge desk in the resort. All while hoping your chair is still there with your t-shirt and hat on the chair when you get back. Oh, and the pool closes at 6PM?? Disney has the pools open until 10PM. I really don't understand this. And don't forget, if you choose to stay at the pool until 6PM you will not be able to turn in your towels for key cards as that service stops at 5PM. (why?) Dining. The food was very good and service was okay. BUT, for the restaurants that require reservations you need to line up at the Concierge desk around 7:45 AM or you will not have a chance. You need to reserve the same day you want to eat at a restaurant that requires reservations. So, if you want to eat at the Japanese restaurant on tuesday.. Tuesday AM you need to get in line (and there will be a line) at the Concierge desk to book your reservation. Literally, if you wait until 9:30AM, all spots will have been taken. I also recommend you take 30-45min to walk around the resort when you first get there and ask a lot of questions about the restaurants, service times, and where everything is. Breakfast/lunch/dinner services are different at some locations as well as the menus. You don't want to miss out on the meals because they are great, and because if you fall in the gap between breakfast & lunch, or lunch & dinner you are out of luck. Drinks: The drinks were plentiful but service varied tremendously at each restaurant and each pool area. Some top shelf was available and seemed to vary at each bar. Not sure why. It would not come out either sometimes until you asked if they had a particular liquor. Overall, it seems incredulous that one could not enjoy themselves here, but the little quirks were enough to keep you from being carefree as there was an early morning ritual that if you ignored, you would have no pool chair or premium dining experience. I considered the pool/sun tanning time and dinner experience important, and between the towel rules and the limited seating at the reservation only restaurants.. it really had an impact on how much I could truly relax. If you slept late.. it was no pool, and buffet only for you. That is not the way I should have been made to feel on vacation."

"We started our week D.R. trip with 5 days at Majestic Elegance. It was well worth the upgrade to the Elegance Club for extra bar and restaurant options as well as no children running around. That includes your own beach area! All of the staff was extremely friendly, especially our 'butler' . Most of the staff knows some English, but knowing any Spanish will help out a lot. Even the most basic of phrases. We have found this to be true throughout the D.R., but hey, that is the point of traveling right? To experience something different. All in all, the Majestic Elegance is a beautiful resort with good food, beautiful facilities, and friendly staff."

"A group of four of us stayed here August 6th -10th (Monday - Friday). We were having a great time until Thursday. We left our room at around 9:40 am, and did not return until after 2 pm. When we returned, we realized money ($280) was missing from our safe. My boyfriend went down to complain to management, and they came up and took a reading from the safe and our room door. The reading showed that we locked the safe at 9:46 am, which is when we left the room for the day. The reading also showed that our room door was opened around 10:30 am, and the safe was messed with a couple times around 11 am, which we saw as proof. The hotel, however, did not. They said they would question the employee that entered the room, but if he did not confess, there was nothing they could do because there was no proof, despite what their reading said. Of course, when the employee was questioned the next day, he said that he did not do it. The hotel said there was no proof that their employee took the money, and said that they trusted him, despite the reading. We explained that there was no proof that he didn't take the money. We even spoke to the head of security and the GM, but the GM said that the hotel would never ever give us any kind of money. The GM offered us a free two-night stay, but we told him that we would never return. We explained that we came to have a nice vacation, paid more to stay in the 'Elegance Club,' and felt violated. Further, we thought we would be safe in the hotel, but we felt violated, and were robbed. Since he offered two free nights, we asked for a one-night credit, but he said no. We figured they would lose less money by crediting us one night, instead of giving us a two-night stay, but he declined, and said that money is NEVER refunded to guests for any reason. From now on, we will always keep our money on us at all times, and not even trust the in-room safe. Our stay at this 'resort' was terrible, and has ruined our experience. We will NEVER return, and will continue to warn people so as to help prevent others from experiencing the same."

"This is the first all inclusive resort my wife and I have stayed at and I must say for a first time, we were pretty impressed. I booked the Majestic Elegance option not knowing what all entailed with it....it was the best. The overall resort is very nice, the private pools are great, our room was very nice, the entertainment was very funny and the shows were entertaining. The food was not great, but it wasn't bad either. YES, there are like 2-3 restaurants that have a dress code and you have to make a reservation, but the other 4 restaurants didn't. We ate till we didn't want to eat anymore. Its a foriegn country so yes we expected our stomach to 'act' up a little bit, but it wasnt too bad. I see alot of complaints about the beach towels they provide, if you don't lose it, you won't have a problem...that simple. You can exchange it anytime you want to for a new one. There are multiple bars to drink at on the resort and we didn't have a single problem getting a drink. Like the restaurants, certain bars operate at certain times and you just adjust accordingly. The beach to the resort was BEAUTIFUL and clean. You can walk the beach down to other resorts if you like but expect to get hassled by vendors offering parasailing, boat rides, etc! The stores on the resort were okay but like one person commented in another review, I think one of the stores tried to run the price up on me when purchasing some items when I chose to pay with the dominican pesos....just make sure you know the currency rate and you will be good. They sell mostly everything in USD though. The biggest complaint I had was everywhere we seem to go, someone is trying to sell you something, which is expected, but after a while you tired of saying NO THANK YOU!! We did two excursions; the catamaran and dune buggy excursion. The catamaran excursion is an all day excursion but it was well worth it. You take a bus ride that rides through the countryside of the DR (which was beautiful) and multiple little towns to a beach where we rode on a speedboat to natural starfish pool where we stopped for about 20 minutes. Its basically a sand bar in the ocean not far from the coast, but a lot of starfish are in this area. From there we rode on the speedboat to Saona Island where you eat lunch and relax on the beach for about 2 hours....expect to get see a lot of vendors selling things, but it wasnt too bad. You then leave the island on a catamaran and ride back to where the bus is and then back to the resort! We enjoyed this excursion A LOT even though it was an all day excursion. The dune buggy excursion was fun as well, you pretty much drive a dune buggy yourself and its follow the leader to another beautiful beach where you visit there for about 20 minutes, then you proceed to a cigar making location and then to a cave with a 21ft natural pool for you to jump in if you choose. We totally passed on jumping in the water!!
Overall the trip and stay at The Majestic was excellent. Yes, some things they could improve on but I didn't expect it to be as nice as it was....we were impressed and would definitely stay here again if we chose to visit the DR again. i would highly recommend anyone to stay at ths resort"

"The first impression I had was very good, the lobby was beautiful and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was also very nice but I saw a few eyesores that should have been fixed such as peeling paint on the walls and bathroom tiles that were replace with a different color tile the shower nozzle looked as if it was ready to fall off of the rest of the plumbing, nothing major but were there and have been there for quite a while. The outside wall of the patio had very poor plaster work done it look as if someone had slapped plaster on a hole and never finished it.The cushions on the outside patio had multiple cigarette burns. The staff were good but they falter on two counts, I had arrainged so that the room would be decorated with a bubble jacuzzi with balloons, a champagne bottle and a door ornament for my wife's birthday, we had agreed that they would come in at 5 pm so that I could get my wife out os the room so they could decorated it and the a cake at the restaurant with a staff singing happy birthday to her. Well that didn't happen as planned, the staff came knocking at the room at 11 am with the birthday banner and champagne bottle then I took her out at 4:30 so the could decorate the room at 5, when we came back to the room at 6:30 the room was as we left it. Wegot dressed to go to the restaurant and it was so packed that we waited and hour before we decided to go to the buffet, so forget about the BD cake and the staff singing happy birthday to her. What really set me off was the day before we we're to leave we are locked out of our room so we both went to the front desk and got a no big deal attitude from the desk, no reason why, no apologies just an ok you can get back in attitude. I really didn't care for that. The buffet was nice with a different theme for very night but most of the food was cold, good but cold. All in all it wasn't 10 days of misery but I think for what I got I really overpaid and would never recommend this resort to anyone."

"My husband and I just got back from ME on a trip we took with two other couples. It was our very first all-inclusive trip and it is definitely the way to go. We had an excellent time at an great place and I would return tomorrow if I could. Like all resorts there are pros and cons but the pros definitely outweigh the cons but I'll list them for those interested.
Pros:
Value for money
Beach - beautiful sand and water
Staff - very friendly and fun. They are also efficient and helpful.
Beds - comfortable
Elegance Club - adult only section with awesome Bali Beds and lounges with free internet and snacks
Variety of food with 24 room service
Frozen Drinks - get a chocolate banana - very good!
Funtastic Team - entertaining and memorable
Mini-Bar stocked daily
Great maid daily maid service with fresh flowers and towel animals:)
All-inclusive - very nice not having to carry around money or worry aboout how much everything costs throughout your vacation.
Cons:
Rooms have a damp smell due to humidity and nothing dries which is just the weather and not the resorts fault.
Our A/C did not work great.
Only serves Presidente beer.
One lounge in the Elegance Club had a horrible smell but the other one was ok.
Snorkling area is very small.
Pools are not heated so we didn't use them much - They also do not have a hot tub which on our rainy days would have been wonderful.
Never heard from Butler but didn't seek him/her out either.
The food is not excellent but it isn't bad either. They do have a wide variety and we never went hungry. We tried every restaurant but the French one. Our favorite was Japenese. We would eat large buffet for breakfast and the one by the ocean for lunch. The bar staff at Sea by Sea was our favorite. I read other reviews of people getting sick and none of the 6 of us ever got sick from the food or water.
There is a nightly show which are pretty good - we attended 4 of them and my husband and I were actually part of the Couples Show. It was a riot. The Michael Jackson show is a must-see with awesome dancers.
We were there the last week of January 2012 and the weather was more rainy than we thought it would be. The first few days it rained all morning and was quite windy throughout the day. We talked to another a couple that had been to the DR 7 times and they said that particular week was the worst weather they have ever seen. Just our luck.
Overall, I enjoyed our trip and would do it all over again. It was a great value for the money we spent. The resort is very pretty and well maintained and the staff is great!

"My husband Kyle and I stayed at the Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana for our honeymoon. It was an absolutely amazing time. We couldn't say enough good things about the resort, the staff, and Punta Cana itself. The resort was beautiful and very well kept. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to make the guests as happy and comfortable as possible. I would absolutely recommend staying here. We also went Zip-Lining and we would recommend doing this if you like adventure. The bus ride into the mountains was amazing because you were able to have a guided trip through Punta Cana, which gives you the opportunity to see how people live. The whole trip was amazing."

"There was a group of about 14 to start. We were all treated very nicely, service was good thu there is a language barrier. The flavors restarunt was not great service. The beach was very packed with people. I been on a couple of all inclusive trips and the beach was open more than this one. The drinks did flow, and the bartenders were awesome, good memoary of what you were dirnking. The itialian restarunt and the japaniese were awesome, the steak dont' go to. The place was very clean, well maintained. Pools clean and nice water temp. If your room was down by the beach you had a long walk to the lobby. The nite club was way way to loud and the base you could feel in your chest and stomach. The entertainment was good. Food over all was good. Staff always smiled, and frinedly. There were couple of little things but they didnt' detract from the trip. Deffenlty would go back. Great value over all."

"We had an excellent time at this hotel, but as always some kinks. First, it rained for us 2 full days. When it rained there was nothing at all to do. We had a 2 year old with us also and all they had in the lobby were board games. I thought that was just ridiculous. The restaurants were all good, but the buffets were just okay. My 2 year old was always looking for mac n cheese and they never had any. And they never had just plain pizza. There was always some crazy topping on them and my kid always wanted just cheese. The staff was very friendly and would go above and beyond for you which was a plus. They also have shows every night at 10pm which I thought was kind of late. A 9pm show would've been better. And in the rooms the bathrooms could be more a little more private. We visited the night club also and that was cheesy. It's hot and not big at all. They have great dancers though. They're a lot of fun."

"What a wonderful hotel and friendly and helpful staff. I would go back in a heartbeat if it weren't for the constant noise level. There is at all times music blaring at you from all kinds of sources so you cannot even perceive it as music, just as noise. Everything is way to loud and over the top when it comes to annimation. I am catching up with my sleep at home now."

"I was very unhappy with my choice in this resort. For a new 5 star resort I was very very disappointed. Customer service was terrible, the towels were about 10 years old and we were only able to get one towel per day and beach towels were even worse. Terrible service at the pool and beach - no one around to even ask if you needed a drink or anything. The staff was not friendly at all or helpful. Nothing like when I have been to Mexico where they can't do enough for you. I won't even mention the food or drinks because its useless.

"We just returned after a 8 day stay at Majestic Elegance.
First the place was beautiful and clean and the rooms where clean and spacious.
The Personnal was very good and pleasant and helpful.
The food was good not great. Not complaining but other places in Punta Cano were better.
Entertainment was good. Shows were good not great and had Live combo band for listening and dancing between dinner and shows.
I like the Elegance Club for the difference in money I thing it was worth it. You have acces to the club and also private pools which I like to get away from the activities, music and smoking to just relax. You also get the liquior in your fully stocked and room service and a butler to attend to you if you want.
I have used Book It for vacations and I like your service and making sure I have access to you if I need you. I will definitely book my next trip with Book It.com.
I would like to go back to Punta Cana next year. Is there a way that Book It can watch out for any exceptional deals in the course of the year and let me know?
Once again thank for your help.

"Just returned from a week of complete relaxation, fun, excellent food and the best staff and service ever. Oh, did I mention the facility and location are both beautiful? Well, they are! No matter what you are celebrating or even if you're not, the Majestic Elegance - all adult Club is without question, a very smart way to spend your hard earned money. If you have kids or want a more activity-related time, go for the Elegance (non Club) or the Colonial. Great for families, lots of children's activities and adult activities too. The Club is nearly all couples...honeymooners, anniversaries and birthdays. Go, go, go!"

"This was an AWESOME place to spend our honeymoon. We stayed in the Elegance club and couldn't imagine how it could have been any better. We got some special treatment for being honeymooners, including a romantic dinner on the beach which was fantastic...food was amazing and our waiter Nelson was extraordinary! This was both our first trips out of the country and to an all-inclusive resort. After talking with many of the other visitors there that have been to multiple countries and resorts, they said that it would be a challenge for us to ever top this resort...and I believe them! I really could go on and on about all the great things but I could write a novel so I will stop here! Overall, GREAT experience, AWESOME staff, and would love to return!"

"This was our first trip to Punta Cana and we had an amazing time. We stayed on the 'Adult Only' side at Majestic Elegance and enjoyed all of our special amenities and treats. The resort was just as beautiful as the photo's displayed on the website. The food in the computer/lounge could have been fresher, but overall the snacks were pretty good. Room service takes at least 45 minutes, but it serves the purpose after a day of 'all inclusive drinking'. There were two restaurants, Japanese and French, that required reservations and we didn't have any trouble booking. The VIP travel agents were very friendly, helpful and accomodating. We definitely recommend the Bavaro Runners Safari Adventures which includes, horse back riding, cigar & sugar cane factories, beach, lunch and so much fun, ask for MiMi!! If you feel like dancing we suggest club Imagine, which is inside of a really cool cave or the Stingray Island Party Cruise! Be sure to bring your own wash cloths because the resort doesn't have any. It also pays to wake up early sometimes to indulge in the wonderful buffet breakfast at Flavors!"

"The resort is very nice and the grounds/beach/pools are well-maintained. There are many options for meals- the buffets/casual restaurants are OK, but the nice dinner restaurants are really great! Since it was our honeymoon, our concierge planned a free romantic dinner for us on the beach and it was fantastic as well. The staff are very attentive and friendly, even if there is a language barrier at times!
I highly suggest staying at the Majestic Elegance side vs. the Majestic Colonial if you are interested in relaxing. It is much more quiet, the facilities are more upscale, and you get more personalized attention. And the 24/7 room service comes in handy!
There were multiple activities throughout our stay if you're interested in being more interactive, including a Bikini contest, 'Iron Man' competition, beach BBQ, beach volleyball, White Beach Party one night, theater shows, etc. There is a Casino, nightclub, and sports bar open nightly.
If there was any downside, it was traveling to/from excursions. Most excursions are about a 30 minutes bus ride to another part of the island and you spend more time traveling/waiting for the activity than you do on the actual activity. I highly suggest saving your money for the Spa or purchasing activities on the beach at the resort! (parasailing, tubing, catamaran, snorkel equipment, etc.)"

"My wife and I just returned from a week stay at the Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana and have nothing but great things to say about it!
We also upgraded to the Elegance Club and stayed in building C. The difference between this and the standard package is that you have express check in (no biggie but if it is busy gets you to the pool quicker) a butler (once again no big deal but if you ever are in need of anything you get service much quicker and personalized) but the the nice thing is the seperate section on the beach with better loungers and the private pool with awesome chairs and day beds. Plus the lounge area where you can sit in A/C while booking excursions online with the free internet on 6 computers (never lines). Also there is a exclusive members only bar with awesome bartenders.
I hear people complain about the food and at end of the sentance it says the burgers and pizza were terrible. Hello people you are in DR not In and Out burger leave that at home and get a little culture. I admit food in Mexico seems a little better but I was never hungry and the surroundings more than made up for it!
The staff are all so friendly and willing to work with you to ensure a great experience. I would recommend Majestic Elegance to anyone considering going to Punta Cana. We had people on the bus during excursions and on the way home on shuttle complaining about how terrible the hotel they were at and I almost has to tone down our positive comments with Majestic so as not to make them feel bad.
Seriously it is that good!"

"I had a wonderful time with my wife Deanna. We stayed at both the majestic elegance and colonial for over 2 weeks. I must say all the workers were awesome and they made our time their memorable. The staff at both hotels were very inviting and the pools where very beautiful, but I will say the Elegance pool was way better than the colonial, but the food at the colonial was way better than the elegance side. Both Hotels are owned by the same owner, but all of the cafe's are separate on each side. If you stay at the colonial you can only eat on that side which isnt as good, because this place would be worth better in value if you can eat at both hotels during your visit. If you go here you will have so much fun. I recommend tiping a dollar or two a little here and there, we on the other hand tiped a lot. The people here were friendly and the surroundings where very safe. We will go back again. Thanks BOOK IT!!!!!"

The butlers walk you around the resort when you arrive and take you to your room at the end. I encourage venturing around the resort it's huge and you can miss a lot. The extra money for the Ellegance Club package is worth it. You have your own bars and computer/lounge area that's always stocked with food. "This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic and I have to say it was exceptional. The grounds and rooms at the Majestic Elegance were amazing along with the pools and beaches. The staff is incredibly attentive, with the exception of the butler whom we never saw after our initial tour. The drinks are good and the food is good for an all inclusive resort. The shows at night were fun to watch and the dance club was a blast as well. The only improvement is that there needs to be fans installed in the theater and the main lobby/bar area. It gets incredibly hot in these places because the breeze won't reach inside. Bring lots of one dollar bills, as a dollar tip will go a long way. Overall this was an incredible resort and trip and we would definitely come back again!"

"This was our fourth trip to Punta Cana. My wife and I love Punta Cana. First time we came in to Punta Cana was in 2007 with other couple, second time we brought our sons, third time we came in with two more couples and this time we were four couples. We only missed one year. We have stayed at different resorts every time we came in. We always looking for a better resort at an affordable price. I think we found this at Majestic Elegance Punta Cana. The food , the shows were great. The resort is beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The people were very kind. We went to all restaurants except to the Italian restaurant. The buffet at Flavors restaurant has a theme every night,Oriental, Mexican, Seafood, etc. "

"Make sure you take singles for tipping from airport to hotel and back. The transportation going to the hotel was informative and friendly. You are welcomed with a tropical drink. Our room had a great view to the pool and pool bar where music was heard. The entertainement was preety good and the workers who entertain did interact with the guest and made it fun. The beach was nice, lots of bungalow's,weather great and water was blue and sweet. The drinks was decent depending on what was wanted, I suggest try their signature drink through out of DR, its call mamajuana (there shots) and strong. There is a little mall (very small) outside and the side of the hotel (walking distance) where you can get gifts and a cheaper price when compared to the airport prices ( go to the first store that is next to the homemade food shack for cheap and ask for the guy we called 'CheapyCheapy, he'll give you a good price), the room was beautiful and housekeeping team was great...the coffee in the room is stronger and great, the food is ok I suggest the Japenses restaurant and the steak house.
The club on friday nite was great and music preety current and then sunday night was a lot of young adults. Its $5 for 30 minutes to use the internet and make sure the printer works ( Had difficulty printing boarding tickets). If need washcloths, ask once you get to the room and calling housekeeping at midnight was no luck. Its better to get food and bring to the room because if its called it may be cold, soggy and missing somethings. It was a great vacation with friends and I would suggest this to others. PS do not go after dark there is nothing but dirt roads and openness.

"My wife & I just returned from our honeymoon in Punta Cana. The Majestic Elegance is a very beautiful place & very clean. I was surprised by how nice & classy everything was. The staff was constantly cleaning & were extremely friendly. The beach & pools were amazing. They cleaned seaweed from the beach every morning & the pools were cleaned every day!
The upgrade to the adult only Elegance Club was definitely worth the money. They treated us like royalty. The Elegance Club lounges always had food & bottles of water for you. The adult only pools had bali beds, which my wife & I loved.
The room was better than we expected. We had a junior deluxe suite. It was so big & spacious. We had a jacuzzi in the room & a fridge that was constantly filled with water, soda, & beer.
The food could've been much better, but everything else was amazing! We would definitely go back to the Majestic Elegance & also recommend it to other people! "

"I went to Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana from August 28 to September 6th. I went there with my boyfriend and two other friends. I & my boyfriend stayed in Junior standard suit. I'd like to speak up about problems I experienced.
First of all, housekeeping was horrible. They did not stock shampoo, conditioner, etc. I'd like to use hotel products when staying. I&my bf actually had to go to housekeeprs to get shampoos at least 2-3 times. Shampoo jar is so small that it's only for one use. Also I had less and less towels. On the first day, we had 2 small towels next to sinks and three big towles in shower room. 3,4 days after, we had 1 small towel and two big ones. I usually use one towel for feet but there ain't any towel left for that. Speaking of cleaning. One day, until 6:00pm, NOBODY came to clean the room. We had to call concierge to get our room cleaned. They cleaned the bathroom floor ONCE while I was staying there. I still could see my hair in front of the toilet for a long time. (to see if anyone cleaned the floor.)
Mini-bar. My friends stayed in pool-view room.(I don't know what they call the room.)Their mini-bar was never stocked. Other guests who I've talked to and stayed in elegace club, also experienced the same issue. Moreover, there's no consistency of what they stock. Some guests had chocolates in a fridge some didn't.
Staff. I noticed that 40% of staffs actually smile and say 'Ola' to you. I did not feel welcome to be there. Most of them just passed by or busy talking to other staffs. Oh! And one night, there was a guy who knocked the door at 1:45AM. YES, at 0145. I & my bf though it was a housekeeping so we said 'it's occupied!' and 'ola!'. He knocked the door a few times and stood there for 30mins. Oh, my god. Honestly, I was scared. In a country I don't know well, someone knocking the door at 1:45AM. After my bf opened the door, the guy came in and said 'air conditioning' and didn't say anything else. He juse checked our AC and left within 10 mins. He didn't seem like he knew what he was doing though. I & my bf were upset and called concierge and they said our neighbor room had an issue with AC so the guy had to come and check if ours was fine. Why didn't they let us know beforehand?! They could've called us before so that we won't be freaked out!
Bugs-another issue. Yes, the place was gorgeous: lots of trees and plants. I guess it's hard to get rid of bugs... However, I and my bf were bit by so many mosquitos and other bugs. We caught 5 black mosquitos one night. I've been to other resort and I didn't have any bug issue. They usually put chemicals or anything on the wall so that bugs won't stay.
Food. It was okay. Asadito, a stake house, was the best among all the restaurants. Other restaurants..hmm.. I should say they are 3 out of 5 stars.
On the last tday, while waiting for the vehicle to airport, a guy from front desk came and asked how resorts were. We talked about housekeeping issues & the AC guy who came at 2:00am, but the guy did not seem like he was listening at all. He was responding only when we made a good comment.
I am disappointed so much that I do not want to go back to this place ever. I'll say overall experience is 3/5. "

"The trip was great. The staff was very nice and never did we feel obligated to give a tip. I have been multiple destinations and Punta Cana reminded me alot of Jamaica in terms of the friendliness of the staff. Everyone seemed very happy to help you and make your stay wonderful. Even off the resort everyone was very nice, just seemed always happy. In mexico it seemed like all they wanted was a tip and if you didnt give them one, they were rude.
The food was good. The dinners were very good considering you are not in the U.S. We tried all the restaurants and all were very good. The lunch was ok, it was a buffet style everywhere you went but you could always find something to hold you over till dinner. The breakfast was also good, plenty of fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. Room service was also good, not the best, but was still good. IT came everytime with in 45 minutes. I would recommend going to one of the restaurants for dinner rather than ordering room service. The dinner was the best part of the food on the trip.
The services the hotel provided was great. Free snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing, boogie board, and a couple others. Most resorts made you pay for this and Majestic it was free.
The alcohol was also good. It was not watered down like some have said on here. The bartenders would not hesitate to make your drink 'mucho' strong if you insisted or feed you with multiple shots of whatever you asked for. I recommend the Mamajuana also known as 'Dominican Power'. A local rum that the Dominican is known for. Have to try it and bring home!
The room was very clean and cleaning staff was great. We had no issues. They came every morning to restock the minibar, everything was free.
Everyday there was different activities on the beach like volleyball, bikini competition, fun activities, etc. The pool everyday, next to swim up bar had some sort of fun activitity. They were always playing music making the trip fun and relaxing.
Some people complained that there rooms were not cold or ac did not work. THis is not the case. The reason why that would happen is becuase everything in the room electric is on a sensor. If you are not in the room or if the door is open the ac is off. If you dont leave the doors open you will be fine.
Also the shows were awesome! My favorite was the Michael Jackson and Circus show. Everything was free and great. I recommend going to these shows.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Punta Cana. Overall a great time. Everything we expected.
Feel free to email if you have any questions.

"Upon arrival we were treat like royality. Every person in the staff was helpful and spoke eough english to understand. I enjoyed the fact that they didn't speak complete english. It added to the feel of the vacation and it never resulted in a lack of service. The food was great and service at the resteraunt and bar was exellent. The hotel is top grade as well as some of the best beaches and water I have ever seen. I will return one day."

"We just returned from our trip to Punta Cana and had a wonderful stay at the Majestic Elegance. From the time we arrived to the time we departed we were treated as royalty, nothing could have been better. The facilitiy, the staff, the rooms, the drinks, the entertainment, the grounds, the beach, the security was all 5 star in our opinion. Best place we have visited in our life including Vegas, New York, Marco Island, Palm Springs and many others. I will return as soon as possible to this paradise where we were graciously welcomed by the smiling faces of the entire staff! Thank you Bookit and Majestic Elegance and the entire staff of wonderful people who took care of us while we were there!"

"Many family members from several states met here for a family gathering in late August. We had a ball and the staff was quite accomedating. The resort was clean and well staffed. We will probably go again.
Side note, I would not suggest the Buggy Ride; the cars are dangerous and poorly maintained."

"When we arrived at the resort we were warmly welcomed by excellent customer service. The food is above average. The rooms were exceptional. I wish the overall staff spoke a little better English, they were all extremely happy and helpful though. I would recommend more options for non alcoholic drinks... This is by far the best vacation we have ever been on and would definitely come back... by the way, the beach and water are beautiful... There are many attractions to choose from, some you have to pay for and some are included in your stay.. I recommend the snorkeling trip to the coral reefs!! Golf was overrated, and the spa is a must do...lastly, the facilities are breathtaking! overall amazing experience!!! :)"

"our trip was the trip of a lifetime, and its because of the management of the majestic elegance! Prior to leaving, we email argenis guzman with certain room requests, and he more than exceeded our requests!! our room was amazing, we had a view from our bed of the lazy river pool, palm trees, and the ocean! it was wonderful. the amenities in room are truly 5-star from the beautiful marble floors, the double above counter sinks, the large closets, the big comfortalbe bed and luxurious bed linens and towels, to the refrigerator and double jacuzzi. Note: the rooms temp is set but there are 3 blower settings, put the setting on the high and the a/c will cool well. open the door of the cabinet that fridge is in, and it will ventilate causing your drinks to be cold. if you go on patio or balcony, be sure to slide the glass door closed so a/c will stay on. the food was good especially at steak house-be sure to ask for the beef filet tenderloin, you can cut it with your fork. the towels at the beach and pool are NOT threadbare, they are very new, so you won't need to bring your own. We did not get sick at all. we just brushed our teeth with the bottled water. water in restuarants is safe to drink. for late night snacks you have 2 choices, inclued room service or the little snack shack located near casiino on colonial side. we did not have any issues with resort and staff, everyone was very friendly and helpful. we have already recommended the majestic elegance to our friends, and we are planning our next visit for next year.
