"Enjoyed our stay, great outside facilities, good food, easy access to drinks and food, very friendly staff, great pool and area. Paid for a deluxe room and got a standard room.. complained before unpacking and could not get a better one..Very musty smell in room. Could often smell sewer from our small patio. Safe did not work and 3 people were there to fix it for two hours. finally i suggested for them to get another one and they did..I love kids but at times it was a bit much.Do not expect to go there to relax. And in my opinion, there are too many in your face sellers, Las Vegas style, and management is not there to control that..Oh and for our room complaints, we got a bottle of champagne and a friut basket that's available at any time on resort. My opinion they should get rid of management and promote some of the wonderfull staff they have.."

"After my experience in Mexico at the Palace Resorts; I was truly disappointed with our Dreams vacation. Firstly, the hotel rooms are a 3/5. The paint and tiles are chipped, ceilings caving and the couch cushions in our room were supported by plywood. They reuse all the shampoo/soap containers and do not supply conditioner (big deal to someone w/hair) the hairdryer only blew cold air. The 'wet bar' had six sodas and two beers which are restocked once daily. Not my idea of a 5 star.
My husband and I went to celebrate my 40th birthday and were at the bottom of the list of priorities due to the three daily weddings every day we were there. -A little overboard if you ask me. The wedding parties were staying up all hours parting as us 'vacationers' were trying to sleep. My husband walked into a bathroom filled w/vomit and another guest vomited in front of everyone watching a show. Not my idea of a tropical paradise.
The staff are phenomenal.
Breakfast left much to be desired, but overall I enjoyed our meals. We were able to eat at a Hibachi with no additional cost and the Italian restaurant is beautiful. Men; bring a pair of dress slacks for restaurants such as these or you can borrow a pair from concierge.
If you are looking for a vacation to escape it all and be treated like royalty, spend the additional money for a better quality resort. If you are under the age of 30 and still like a party-this is the place to go.

"Pool was great. Beach small and rough and hard large sharp rock in swimming area. Rooms weren't cleaned until 5:30 most days and beds were not very good. Bad water and wasn't ever told about it. Only found out about it after we got sick after were brushed our teeth."

"My husband and I went here for our honeymoon which was the best decision we've made as a married couple! Let me get the bad out of the way, the Mexican restaurant was receiving so many negative comments from fellow guests we didn't try it. Ok that was the bad. Everything was amazing from food, friendliness, cleanliness to feeling like royalty. We had a 'honeymoon' sash across our door and felt like we were getting special treatment everywhere we went. Which we don't normally expect or require but what a nice change! The swim out room had an amazing view and I loved being able to jump in and glide up to the bar. The pool closes at 6 but we went in with fellow guests around 11pm which no one reprimanded us for. We didn't do an excursion but they have great prices for them. We took advantage of the photographers on the resort to take pictures on the beach. They are a bit expensive but are willing to work on deals. Overall I just loved everything! We met wonderful people, ate until our stomachs could take no more and had a blast. Nightly entertainment was excellent as well. I miss this place!! I would definitely go back in a heartbeat."

"First all inclusive experience for my wife and I. First, we paid for the transfer from the airport to the hotel, worth the money. It is about an hour trip and I think the fee was well worth it. Upon arriving at the hotel I was amazed. Much larger than I imagined and a very nice reception area. The staff were extremely helpful. We were offered an upgraded room for $50/night and was amazed at what we got. Our original room was the basic room and the upgrade got us a suit with hot tub on the huge balcony. It also included access to the 'Preferred Club'. The club has computers for internet access but the upgrade also gets you free unlimited Wifi. Also at the club you get premium beverages, appetizers around the clock, a private area for cocktails, private beach area, an a la cart breakfast in Oceanana and a private concierge. The grounds at the hotel are beautiful with lots of flowers, palms, flamingos and peacocks roaming around. The beach is nice, not the best I've seen but nice however be advised that the wind seems to blow constantly. You don't get blown off the beach but there is always around 10 mph of wind. Everything was kept very clean which was very important to me. Now, on to the food. The food there was very good. The buffet has a different theme every night and there was plenty to choose from. Again, very clean. The restaurants were nice but nothing knocked me out. I would just say that you won't be bored with the choices but do understand that the portions are small. Not a big deal as I felt it nice to be able to sample the appetizer, soup, entree and desert without feeling stuffed. Be sure to bring a lot of $1 dollar bills for tips. They are not required but they are used to receiving them. Just a buck goes a long way. If you are planing to do any of the excursions be aware that you are about an hour from all of the places they go. All in all it was one of the best vacations we have ever had. Very relaxing, good food with lots of choices, friendly staff, nice accommodations and very clean. We are already planning to return."

"upon arrive we were given a ground floor room close to the main reception building, which I thought it was great. The room had big humidity problems you could easily smell and the AC system was making funny noises and not cooling at all. We also requested a crib for our daughter and never was delivered, so we decided to change rooms. This time, after possing some resistance and me ending having to go talk to them in person, they gave us a room located on the 1st floor of another building. The humidity problems weren't there anymore but the AC system didn't work either. We call in the problem and I ended up having to call 3 more times before somebody shows up and told me that there's nothing they can do. It was due to the fact that they have such an old infrastructure (12 years) that the AC system can not perform any better. To make matters worst, they told me the AC system cools the air using cold water and by the time the cold water makes it way to our room it wasn't cold anymore.
No solution was offered. Thank goodness for the cold nights we had, otherwise it would have been a terrible stay!"

"This was my first all-inclusive vacation experience and it was better than I expected. The stuff at the hotel was beyond pleasant and made the trip so much more enjoyable. While choosing a hotel, I read a lot of negative reviews in regards to food quality (in Dominican Republic in general), and being a picky eater and a pescaterian, I did not know what to expect. Well, I ended up staffing my face the entire time. Out of 5 a la carte restaurants, I prefer Oceana and Portofino - there is plenty on the menu to come back more than once. Besides the dining facilities, they have a grilling station on the beach during lunch time, which was always great and different every day. The pool is huge, plenty of entertainment for all ages, and again the stuff is AWESOME! There were only two things I can complain about: the beach and sheets. Once you get up to your waist in the ocean, the sand under your feet turns to rocks and if you keep on going further you're probably going to get out with scratches. This was a big deal to me as I prefer the ocean water to chemically treated pool. The second complaint would be the sheets. It seemed that instead of changing them daily or close to it, they just made the bed. On the upside, when I asked for a clean set of pillow covers, they were delivered to me within 15 min. Also, the hotel was very clean and well maintained overall. Bottom line, if you prefer pool to the ocean, you would LOVE this hotel. Otherwise, I would recommend looking at others."

"room wasn't ready...smelled like sewer outside so couldn't use patio..that did pass after the first night then just occasional sewer smell. The room was basic and it was a family connecting room. The preferred club was a waste of money. The ocean was extremelly rough and our teens got stung by something in the ocean. The pool was amazing! The food was o.k. but I was sick for three out of seven days and I did drink bottled water! Do not do the snorkelling trip in the Atlantic...all you will see is nothing and rough water...I ended up seasick...couldn't wait to get out of the boat and lay down. The pool needs to stay open longer. 6:00 is to early to close it. Bring bug spray ...once the sun goes down the bugs bite! The Core Activity zone is great! A great way to take a break from the pool or ocean. Overall not the best experience but some parts were good. We wouldn't go back!

"It was such a great vacation at Dreams - Punta Cana.
Great shows every nights. Food was great. Lots of options. Biggest pool in Dominican Republic was my favorite thing of this resort. The temperature of the pool was perfect all the time. Activities all day long. I have just good things to say about it.
My suggestion for this resort: It would be nice if we could use the pool during the night. The same CD - music was playing all week long by the pool. I would put more variety.
I would recommend this resort to anyone. We had a blast!"

"This resort is very clean and the landscaping is just beautiful. The beach was good, there is a reef offshore but that didn't bother us any. There is a little seaweed that washes up on the beach which they constantly clean up nothing horrible though. We enjoyed a Jr. Suite which had plenty of room and loved the jacuzzi on the balcony. The staff were great and helpful and friendly. We visited the Spa a few times and it was wonderful. We would love to be able to return to this resort but since my husband and I both got sick from the food served we will not consider returning. I would add that we live in a hot humid climate, we did not get to much sun or drink to much alcohol and we have no known food allergies that would cause a problem. "

"Lots of Pool Space. Lots of Restaurants. No need to make reservations. Food was good, better than most other resorts. The entire team made every effort to please us in anyway if we had a problem or not.the entire Staff, except the Explorer kids club team, was the best so far of all the resorts we have been to over a decade.rnBeach was a disapointment. Rooms and beds were very uncomfortbale. The kiddie beach playgorund was closed which was the only reason why we actualy booked. rnThis is a good resort to go too. better than so many other resorts, but if you are into the luxary higher end facilities you wont like it, but if you just want to relax and have a good time eat good food with nice and freindly people and dont care much about your room and swiming in the beach, you will be happy."

"Pros:
Overall a beautiful, well-serviced resort. The food was excellent - we dined in the Italian, Mexican, Seaside Grill and World Cafe and were never disappointed. The long, 'lazy-river' style pool allows plenty of opportunity to find an empty lounge chair or shaded area under an umbrella. One of my favorite daytime activities is the fresh fruit bar by the pool.
Cons:
The standard room is comparable to a basic hotel room. We have been to 4 different all-inclusive resorts and this was the worst room we have had. Although it was cleanly, it still appeared quite 'weathered'. The walls were thin and we heard our neighbors come in late every single night; our safe did not work when we arrived and throughout our stay it was 'hit or miss' and often took 3 to 4 attempts to lock it; the phone chord in the bathroom was cut (not that we would make a call from the bathroom, but still), no paper or pens in the room and nothing with which to stir our coffee.
The other major con is the layout of the resort. One side of the resort is accessible to the pool and sidewalks while the other requires navigating across bridges and walking through other hotel units in order to cross to the pool area.
Additionally, keep in mind that the farther North you go in Punta Cana, the rougher the beaches are.
While we are still fans of the Dreams resorts, we would not recommend this specific resort.

"The atmosphere at the resort is very relaxing. The resort is pretty nice. I love the pool area, the beach, the spa, the restaurants, and especially the daily activities... The staff are extra-friendly. It is safe. The romantic dinner was very scenic. The food at the resort is mediocre. We tried all the restaurants there and the italian restaurant (portofino) had the tastiest food. The world cafe has great varieties of different ethnic food. It was a great choice because you can always find the food you like...I love the atmosphere at the Oceana, but the food was not great. It all depends on what you order! For example do not choose the duck at the italian place nor the fish at Oceana... We loved the jaccuzi at our balcony! The drinks at the pool are relatively great... The beach at Uvero Alto (Dreams) is ok but Bavaro and Macao have nicer beaches. I would definitely recommend it and would visit it again with family."

"The resort was nice--not high-end hotel nice, but all-inclusive nice. I was a little disappointed that the kidde slide was only open to guests who used the on-site childcare. Otherwise, the resort was wonderful, the staff was friendly and our experience was great. Can't beat it for the price!"

"Sorry that we had put running shoes full of sand on the balkony and not in the clean room. Bad start. nOther than that, nice and clean resort. More for families than couples.
Food was pretty good, although the many restaurants were not as good if you really understand what good food is. After we tried all of them, we decided only to go to the world cafe buffet.
The fruit bar at 11am is pretty good. Fresh mangos, pine apples, bananas, cut on a stick."

"I had a great time there since I went in a large group for a wedding however this is definately not one of my favorite picks in punta cana. The rooms are not very luxurious and mine had a view of a chain-link fence. Also, the bathroom is tiny with a small, ugly tub. It was impossible to get a table at one of the resturants without waiting an hour or more, which is difficult with kids. The dining (buffet) area had terrible food. No shrimp or seafood options. For breakfast, it was ok. We missed the entertainment on the nights that we had to wait for a table, which was a bummer. The beach area is not very nice compared to other resorts. It has a lot of seaweed and rocks. The staff was very friendly and overall I had a good time, It is definately not a dive, but it's not a place that I would recomend."

"I just got back last week from a 7 day vacation at the Dreams Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. My husband and I went for our fourth anniversary. We decided to do the preferred club, which was so worth the extra cost. The room was pretty much the same as all the others. All the rooms are the same unless you get a suite which has a jacuzzi on the terrace, but it is so hot there and everyone can see you on your terrace so I wouldn't have wanted that anyway. With preferred club, you get private check-in, different color towels for the pool so you get better drinks. If you go into the preferred club, which is right across from the pool, you get better drinks anyway. With preferred cllub, you also get access to a different restaurant for breakfast (oceana) which is very good. As far as food goes, there are seven restaurants. We tried all of them except one, the mexican, because I got food poisoning from something I ate at the italian restaurant there. Fourteen hours of food poisoning sickness. It was not pretty. I don't recommend that one, but all the other restaurants, especially Seaside Grill, were very good. GREAT POOL with swim up bar. Would visit this resort again."

"my stay has been horrible since I stepped foot in this resort, first we got off the bus and your staff took the tickets off our luggage and gave them to someone else in our group getting our luggage back took almost 2 hours and when a gentleman finally brought it to us and he was VERY apologetic. Now we are in our room we have NO soap (bar or liquid) no shampoo and 2 towels and a half stocked fridge, we call downstairs to housekeeping another supervisor woman comes barging in the room not even asking to come in acting like we were lying and checking in the bathroom and closet, we ordered beers on ice that never came, told one of the guys that our air conditioner is not working properly he said he would let someone know and nothing has happened yet and it's very uncomfortable
I went to check my son in when he arrived and you desk person was extremely rude to me, told to 'come back at 3 for a room' and i ask why his room was ready yesterday and it was paid for so why do i have to wait so he stomps off comes back and says nasty come back on a hour (still not understanding why i just leave)by this point I am sorry I came here and am very disappointed by the service or lack there of that I have or have not received.

"The main problem is with the food - bad to mediocre. Had two good meals at night and a couple of the worst since I have been traveling. I could nor eat the steak at the steak house and the Italian restaurant served tough Mahi Mahi; You cannot get into the Japanese Restaurant.
The beach was nice. The preferred beach consisted if about 10 beds that we could never get. They were always reserved prior to 8:00am. Who do you pay off? You had to sit behind the beds or in the sun. We chose the regular beach.
Will not go back.

"Though the drive was 45 minutes from the airport....it was totally worth it. Dreams resort is gated & not everyone can enter the place. We are the Club members at Dreams & so the hospitality was triple the effect. Very well maintained place & friendly staff.
Spa isn't all that so don't waste your money on it.
Casino is very small
Dance club is alright
Oceana is good for sea food.
The Mexican & Japanese restaurants are excellent & the food is top notch.
The beach is clean but beware of big rocks by the shore
While heading to the resort from airport we paid $70 for cab but heading back we found a cab for $50.

"BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL RESORT!!! Looks like a picture on a post card but TERRIBLE FOOD!!! So many variations of food and everything was horrible, my husband and I stocked up on gift shop snacks. However the endless drinks from the bar were very tasty, my husband and I loved the daquaris. Another plus was the constant activities for both the adults and children, always something to do!! So my ONLY complaint is the terrible food."

"I took my family to DR for this spring break and they loved it so much they already wants to go back. Everbody was so helpful and courteous. All the resturents were excellent great food, I pay $200-300 for family dinner like that here in Chicago. The entertainment and entertainment staff did a great job with the shows everynight, and the activities during the day at the pool. "The.rooms.were.very.small.There.were.no.dressers.in.the.room.to.place.your.clothing.in.They.had.placed.many.pillows.on.the.beds.for.decoration.this.also.took.up.more.of.the.precious.space.The.resort.was.extremely.spread.out.therefore.you.had.to.do.great.deal.of.walking.which.was.difficult.for.my.husband. "My teen daughter and I went there at the end of November and did not want to leave! The different restaurants gave the variety and the food was always very good. The best bartenders too! The entertainment staff were absolutely wonderful. They were genuine, happy and fun. I know they get paid to make sure we have a good time, but we felt like they enjoyed their job, and their laughter came from their hearts. As far as the coral or the beach or the waves, that is in someone else's hands. We also did the snorkel/sharks/Stingray excursion and had a blast. Bus ride was a tad long, but that is the only way to have the quiet beach and the privacy rather than the busier areas.
Dreams Punta Cana is Definitely a place we will return, we are counting the days already!"

"wow!....i just got back from 5 glorious days at the Dreams - Punta Cana Resort and Spa.....what a beautiful resort...so clean....our room was just beautiful...cleaned everyday and refrigerator restocked daily also...the pool was amazing as was the beach....everyone was so friendly...and the staff was AMAZING!!!!...they couldn't do enough for us and were so friendly....the only regret is that i couldn't stay longer, but, i will definitely be back!!!..the food was also wonderful as was the cocktails...and along the path of the resort, flamingo's roamed as did a peacock and 2 gorgeous parrots....one word....PARADISE"

"My husband and I got married under the gazebo during our stay at Dreams Resort and Spa. While I had trouble getting responses from my wedding coordinator, the resort itself was lovely. We were upgraded free of charge by the head coordinator to Preferred Club; this certainly was a welcomed event as Preferred Club travelers get a) preferred place on beach; b) better rooms; c) clubhouse just for PC travelers with free internet access. Although most of the restaurants in the resort really weren't that good, we still enjoyed the food any time of day at the World Cafe. It was a beautiful, relaxing place for us to honeymoon :0)"

"First of all, I reccommend buying the insurance especially if you are going during hurrican season. I did not and it was a hassle trying to work with Bookit and Dreams to try and figure out if either one would fr help us keep our 5 nights. In the end, it worked out but we lost our last complete day there.
The staff is very friendly and accommadating. The restaurants were also good. They will close one of them if there is a wedding going on though.
The Entertainment team was wonderful. They interact with the audience and the children. Seemed like there was always something going on at the resort for you to do.
If you bring your children, there are many activities and things for them to do. Ping pong, batting cages, climbing wall, I believe they even have an X-box. Even for the younger children there is a small pool with a slide.
The pool is not your ordinary pool. It is a lazy river that is quite nice. The grounds are beautiful.
The rooms could use a little TLC but they were cool and the bed was comfortable.
I would return to this resort."
