"i have traveled to quite a few all inclusives and this was the worse expreience I could of had. I booked this trip October 2012 with friends that also were going to go at the same time in a so called VIP package. As far as the room fair I had issues with light not working in bathroom, back door would not lock, safe had no lock, you have to pay extra for the lock wasnt told that, tv was worthless and full bar was below par. The bartenders and entertainment group were great and very polite and remembered who you where. Communication via the VIP rep and me was horrible he was more concerned in selling tours then me. He was polite but when I failed to show up for a tour sign up he was very upset and said he waited for me and was upset that i didnt show up at the time indicated. When I had told him I would not make the time frame since my friends had already booked a tour at a much cheaper rate he hung up on me.. If you still plan to go bargain, bargain, bargain! The customer service was very nice and helped us with correcting numerous issues. If the hotel would tell you that you can take care of setting up special dinners and massages at the concierge right across from my bungalow and exactly how things work I would have not spent half of my vacation running back and forth to the front desk trying to get them resolved..When I spent quit a bit of money for this so called VIP package it was more of a RIP package. Basically its the language barriers and communication between Customer and Hotels. I will never go back I will stay in USA and have more fun. I understand tourism is 60 percent of the countries economy but I will not put another dime in the Dominican Republic. Beautiful beaches and weather some staff outstanding more staff unfriendly and seem to be loss in theri own country. If you want make your own decision and be ready to be approached many times for tours and someone trying to make a dollar. Good luck."

"I had huge hopes for this trip, and some were met, and some were utter failures. Upon arrival in the airport, a bell hop will carry your luggage to your car, and you will have to tip, even if you didnt ask for a bell hop. Make sure you book a transfer vehicle to your hotel or you will pay huge taxi costs, and make sure your taxi driver is wearing a pink shirt. If you book a transfer, make sure you know what company, and print all your vouchers before you leave the US- they won't print them for you. Upon arrival the hotel gave us a king room, when we specifically asked, as the only request, to have 2 double beds. The beds are old, extremely hard, there were only 2 pillows that were hard and run down. The hotels front desk did not have people who speak any sort of decent english, which is strange because most of the bar staff, security, and vendors have a rudimentary grasp on the language. The bar staff in the lobby are the absolute best- He was great and deserves any and all tips received. The lobby is filled with people who want to sell you excursions. Go on them. They are awesome. most cost about $100USD and are totally worth it. We went on Adventure Buggy, Horseplay, and Seaquarium. They were all awesome. Only problems were 1) if security didn't like your driver they wouldnt let them in, and you had to walk out to the driveway (Horseplay) 2) really long bus rides, which in all honesty are unavoidable, 3) if cancelled, due to chopppy ocean or any other reason, NO ONE calls to let you know. I have no idea how I am supposed to get a refund for an excursion we booked online, and it is really frustrating. Overall the food was decent, and with the VIP package you get to have your choice of restaurants, just make sure you understand you have to make reservations between 830 and 3pm. The buffet was ok, but same foods everyday. Also, the wait staff in the buffet probably won't understand you- no matter your primary language. The room service was great, the maids were good, and some were great because they came back at 8pm to see if you needed anything extra. Guest services was good if you went to the desk, but worthless over phone. The minimart manager doesn't know how to be descrete. She decided we were stealing because we were shopping in her store for a beach bag. She followed us around the store, and told the cashier to check the bag 3 times because she 'knew' we had shoved merchandise into it. This woman did not realize that I speak Spanish, and understood every word she said. I would like this woman to be disiplined, but guest services wouldnt answer the my query. My friend went to the smoke shop to buy the exact same painting I had bought 5 minutes before and she had them raise the price by $25USD because she thought we were stealing again, and they accused me of theft again. I was horrified, and would still like to talk to someone about this, but still the hotel has not responded to any form of communication. Other than that, food was decent, service outside of minimart was great, the bell hops were great. The hotel was easy to get around in, and people seemed happy. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend due to the accusations of theft."

"Firstly I have to give it to the restaurant and entertainment staff at Club Caribe Princess for their awesome and friendly service.
I booked a VIP package but the rooms are worse than some of the standard room I have booked before in my other Caribbean trips; so the hotel definitely needs take care of the run down rooms; most of the lights didn't work; a geico fall down from the ceiling fan as soon as my wife turned it on.
The front desk staff was NOT friendly at all along with the Currency Exchange desk which is a rip off when the rates are concerned. There are bunch of time share vendors which will bug you all day as soon as you come out of your breakfast, lunch and dinner, really irritating.
The positive about the hotel is its staff; specially the restaurant crew; the food is definitely great as compared to some other restaurants; bars and bar tenders are awesome too."

"I stayed at Caribe Club Princess for 5 nights in September 2012. I will start out by saying that this was one of the most relaxing trips I have had in a long time. The majority of the staff was very friendly, but the language barrier was really rough. The main language being Spanish and the second language being French. I speak english only and very very little spanish. Regardless of the language barrier I felt welcome at all times, BY THE STAFF. On the other hand, 2 of the 5 nights that we were there, they had vendors set up in the resort, around the pool/dining areas. Having vendors is great, but they were so pushy and begged you to buy their stuff, it frustrated me and made me not even want to go to dinner or leave my room the days that they were there. I should not feel obligated to buy anything from them and that's the way they made me feel. If I would try to avoid them they would walk after and come and drag you to their vendor tables. Another complaint is that the beaches were not kept clean. Majority of the beach chairs/recliners were broken and very uncomfortable. The dried seaweed that was infested with some sort of sand bug was also an irritant, I think it should be cleaned up daily, if not more often than that. I generally love going in the pool and hanging by the pool, but the pool at this resort was not for me. The water, luke warm, not refreshing at all. I could not smell any chlorine in the water at all. I was not in the pool for longer than 5 minutes. The bar staff in the pool was great and very friendly. After talking to other people that stayed at other resorts in Punta Cana, I can honestly say I would not stay at Caribe Club Princess if I were to come back."

"Myself, my husband, daughter and her friend just returned from our Punta Cana vacation. It was FANTASTIC, I can not say enough nice things about the staff at the Caribe Club Princess, they are the most helpful, wonderful people you will ever meet.
I have read people saying the rooms are outdated, well this might be true but they were clean and very well kept and we didnt spend very much time in our rooms anyway. Just to sleep mostly!!
The resort was absolutely beautiful--very clean!! The pools were great and the beach was amazing! Fantastic breeze all the time. The bartenders at all of the bars were very friendly and very funny!
The food was terrfic and such an amazing variety, every night it was a different countries food, such as Italian, Mexian, International etc. Besides there are also different restaurants on the resort that you could go to, for the people complaining about the food, all I can say is that we had plenty and it was very good. SO whats the problem.
All the staff is amazing.
We are already planning to return next August and have recommended it to all our friends, some have even said they will join us next year.
So our heartfelt THANKS to the staff at The Caribe Club Princess Beach Spa for making this a vacation that we will always remember and for memories that will have a special place in our hearts."

"This was my first time staying in an all inclusive resort. The resort was absolutely beautiful--very clean!! The pools were great and the beach was amazing! The bartenders at all of the bars were very friendly and very funny! The entertainment staff were awesome! The only thing that was a little disappointing were the restaurants and the food. It took us a day or 2 to realize that reservations were needed in all of the speciality restaurants. The food in the Mexican restaurant was very disappointing! The chips were very stale and the food (chicken) was tough and chewy. The Chinese restaurant and the Italian restaurant were much better! The food in the main restaurant was quite bland and mediocre. Other than that, the trip was awesome! I would definitely recommend to others."

"this place is horrible. the rooms are very outdated and look nothing like the pictures. the beds were gross and the linens must be the same ones from when the place opened. there was hair in them and in the bathroom. we had 2 rooms and one bathroom was missing a shower door and only half the holes put out water from the shower head. there was trash and cups all around the resort, especially at the pool and some of it was left in the pool overnight. the buffett served the same thing all the time and you couldn't get a plate. you had to continually ask the staff for them. i was very surprised at the dirtiness. when we complained to the manager, he said, and i quote, 'i know the place is dirty, they should be leaving in a day or two.' are you kidding me??? we changed resorts as fast as possible."

"The fact that this was a vacation in a tropical paradise makes this vacation one of my best. The food was edible, which was all I expected. The specialty restaurants were very good and we ate at all of them. You can't just eat the buffet every day and night because it's basically the same thing over and over. The pool bar was fantastic, we spent every afternoon there. You can't help but have some cocktails and sometimes end up drunk. The main bartender was great. We did go an entire day without running toilets and several times there was no running water at all. Twice I couldn't even shower before dinner because the water was down. But I still had a great time and would recommend the hotel on a whole. It's not the workers fault that the hotel has water problems. Also, the response time of the staff was the quickest I have ever experienced as far as needing extra pillows and towels and once I was locked out of my room and they had to come and let me in."

"Just returned from a trip to Punta Cana. We probably wouldn't return except to see a different resort. Unfortunately there's nothing to do outside of the resort. We did the para-sailing sold right on the resort beach (very cool) and we swam with the dolphins (also cool but an hour away due to stopping at many other hotels to pick people up and further endure the hot temperatures). We had booked to swim with sharks and stingrays but canceled it once we found it was included with the dolphin trip The resort was good. We did have to change rooms but it was processed very quickly. The VIP was well worth the extra!!! Those without it wished they had it. The food was OK but the buffet needed ceiling fans. The swim up bar was great, as was the man serving the drinks. We also enjoyed the staff in the Lobby bar and occasionaly got drinks at the Pescado bar. There were so many people to recomend, but too many names to include. Even the housekeeper was pleasant and made the bed differently every night. Outside the resort was dirty with liter all over and many locals trying to take advatage of you...don't trust anyone. Will try another island next time."

"small resort..The front desk is very hard to deal with although they were friendly. No internet unless you pay and it is expensive. Food at the buffet was good on weekdays but poor on Sat & Sun. Appartenly empty rooms r given to local church groups on the weekends and the descend on the buffet. I actually got pushed while standing in line at the buffet. Always stayed at a different resort and love the DR. but not this resort. I`ve been to the DR 6 times and just love the country just need to go back to a different resort..spent 2 weeks there and was ready to go home ...that has NEVER happened before."

"Punta Cana is an amazing place, I would love to re visit and try another resort. We found a pretty great price for our flight and 5 night stay at Caribe Club Princess. When we arrived we were taken with the open air lobby and our room was great until we noticed a leak in the ceiling and a puddle of water on the floor. We were moved three times and our fourth room was the one we ended up staying in. The resort is situated very close to the ocean with beautiful views. There are live peacocks, birds, turtles, fish.....The food was sub-par and some of it was gross. We did like the brazillian restaurant on the beach and the crepe place. The staff is wonderful. Solicitors will bug you. Do the excursions, our favorites were the dune buggy tour and the Canopy tour I believe it is...We had a great trip :)"

"The Princess Caribe is NOT a 4-star resort! This is a difficult review because overall we had a good time but it wasn't the service and quality we have come to expect in a Caribbean 4* resort.
When we checked in the staff let us find our room on our own after taking a short golf cart ride from the lobby to the building our room was in. We found our room, opened the door, and stood there in shock! The room smelled of mold and smoke. The curtains, the bathroom and even the grout on the tile floor had mold in it. The mattress was stained and flimsy. We called the lobby to switch rooms but were told that the resort was full and we would have to wait until the next day to switch. This was unacceptable so we decided to go front desk ourselves. This worked and we were switched from a 1st floor room to a 3rd floor room. The room layout was the same but the entire room was either newer or better maintained. It also didn't reek of smoke and mold. The 3rd floor rooms had vaulted ceilings and fans. We also went from a view of overgrown bushes the pool to an ocean view. The room had a fridge and they kept it stocked with a couple sodas and a few bottles of water each day.
There were plenty of bars to get your drinks throughout the day and the bartenders were the friendliest of the staff. The activities staff were also very friendly and had the right energy to keep everyone entertained and enjoying themselves(darts, archery, water aerobics, beach yoga, evening theater shows, etc).
The main eating area was a buffet for all of the guests to use. In the mornings the omelette station was great for breakfast. We also liked the fresh squeezed juices and fruit. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't 4* quality. While the food at the buffet was okay, the service for drinks was bad. Even getting your first water was a chore. Not all of the wait staff gave you a smile and sometimes they would forget about you and you would have to remind them to bring your drink. Sometimes, we would almost finish our meal before we would get our drinks.
There are restaurants at the resort but you have to make reservations for them between 8am and 3pm. You can make reservations for up to 3 days. The restaurants are small and fed from the same kitchen as the buffet. If you ordered the sirloin in one place it was the same cut of meat as the rib-eye you ordered the next night. The wait staff at the restaurants were the least friendly of all of the service employees.
This is kind of the running theme for this review. We had an absolutely great time during our week here but there was some disappointment in the beginning due to our expectations."

"My trip to the caribe club princess was real good so i highly recommend this resort...I like the wild life that was on the resort...the birds, turtles, duck, peacocks. It was awesome to be that close to them and feed them...the food was good i cant complain cause it was plenty to eat and drink...the pools was good also with the swim up bar...they had something going on everyday/night so that was good but i had booked 5 excursions for my trip...the staff was really friendly and got you what you needed...the hotel had brugal and cigars in the room when we arrived...the resort also included a 20 minute massage which was great and also gave us sometime on the internet. The beach and entire resort was nice and clean. So to whoever reads this, I suggest you give this resort a shot cause im ready to go back already"
