We booked a suite had to move after one night the smell of sewage was over whelming, moved to a second floor suite, small bugs every where in bathroom. not so good. suite is very small bed was not comfortable. Food was terrible nothing good to eat including fruit, because food is served out side bugs are always on food. flavor of food is bad, Juice and coffee also taste bad, water left in room I think are bottles that are filled at the facility. I will start with a compliment, the staff was all very nice. Now for all of the unfortunate parts... The beds were extremely hard, the air hardly worked, very little hot water, the food was ok, and the walls are so thin you can hear the room next you you breathing. It was fine for our 1 night but would never want to stay for my whole vacation.

The hotel is located in a great area, just a few minutes walk to a small supermarket. The beach is only 3 minutes walk or least.. Staff was really friendly and helpful all the time. Food was good, it always had something you could choose, the variety was quite good for a three stars hotel. As entertainment we could choose to do aerobics in the morning on the beach ,or play volleyball in the afternoon. In the evening you could learn to dance merengue or bachata at the beach bar and stay for a pa... Read more

Overall a nice quiet hotel with restaurants and bars nearby. Front desk staff where helpful when needed. Breakfast was excellent although some items were not replaced promptly and we had to wait. The beach is 1 minute walk away. We enjoyed our vacation.

Nice location, beach is beautiful, the ocean is warm and that makes you feel nice although the hotel has average and bad rooms, not too friendly service. The other nice thing was an exellent breakfast.

It is a hotel located in the heart of Bavaro. It is situated close to most of things in town, like local restaurants , cafes, stores, and bars. You can literally walk to a local cafe and treat yourself with coffee or a pastry of your choice. Should you crave for some local smoothie, there is a juice shop only blocks away from the hotel. If you want a ride and discover places in Punta Cana, you have the choice of calling for a cab who come and get you from the hotel or take one of the scores of... Read more

Was here last weekend for a two days stay, booked two of the best rooms they have available (3116-3114). Constructive criticism is key. I'm Dominican living in NYC, grew up in DR and l've been to Punta Cana /Bávaro many times. Food is great but need more choices to pick from (A la carta restaurants), employees are great but not awesome (everyone should greet the guests)but the main changes have to come from the top. 1st-no phone's in your rooms(very inconvenient), 2nd-I know we're there to enjo... Overall, an ok property. I am not the demanding type, but in general I like to be in a clean place, clean sheets, and nice employees. The people in the front desk need a little customer service, the firs day, they were very uncooperative but towards the end of our stay, they warmed up. They wanted a cash deposit of $10 per towel if you wanted to use them on the beach. I didn't have cash, so they could NOT charge it to your room. The food was ok, just need to do somthing about the flies. But ALL ... Read more

We vacationed for 7 days at whala bavaro. We weren't expecting much because it's a small hotel but don't let that fool you. The hotel is 1-2 min away from the beach. Every day our room was made and cleaned up very very well. The food way really good with a lot of selection it's good. They had Dominican food but also pizza and other food. Can have food anytime of the day. The rooms are really nice and comfortable. The staff is really good. Really worth the price. I couldn't be more happier Defini... Read more

We returned to Punta Cana for the forth time and we stay at different hotels every time. This resort is great, the beach is beautiful and the life is easy. When we arrived we found the room to be clean and tidy, all basics included, baring in mind this is not the kind of vacation to take your finest to, it's a beach break. The staff here are really great and work hard, the food is good it always gets a bit repetitive at any hotel but the breakfasts were pretty good. Nice gardens and areas to sun... Read more

I have a lot to say aboout whala but mostly want to relay how peaceful and relaxing the trip was, mostly in part to the hotel. You very much feel at one with nature and very comfortable in the surroundings, the experience was unlike staying at the large chain hotels with loud music at the pool and heavy drinking, here we were able to read our book, take a nap by the beach etc. We wanted the all inclusive stay and perks without the commercial feel and we got it here. We stayed here for one night. When we booked the room we asked about late check in and how late the restaurant would be open because we would be arriving around 10pm. We were told 11:00pm. Not true! They were prepared with the room but the restaurant closed at 9:30pm. We were on our own to find dinner after traveling all day! We were given a room all the way in the back on the 3rd Floor (no elevators). We were not even given directions on how to get to the room. We were told "just go around thi... Read more

We stayed for 14days in this hotel - 5days would be long enough. First thing we were told at reception is that "WE have to pay 30US$ for a safe on room." No explanation, no choice. We refused, and asked how come. We were told that if we do not pay, they will not allow us to use the safe at room, (though it was there whole time) and that they will not be held accountable for any loss from room. - Really good way to greet your guests Mr. Santana. The service here was just horrendous.... The servers actually wanted nothing to do with you... There is only one buffet to eat, and the hours were very restrictive. The bright side was the food was pretty good. There is no entertainment at this resort. Bring a book that´s the only way you will stay entertained.

Good location and easy check in after a long flight. Rooms are slightly old in the way it was furnished but that did not effect our stay or the enjoyment of our week at all. We had a fantastic time in fact. The beach is beautiful and the food, drink and service from all the hard working staff second to none. We're looking for a nice quiet, relaxing and friendly place to stay and we got it ten fold here. Would like to return next year if we can.

First of all we were put in a dingy room on the first floor next to the bar and garbage cans. The room was dark and old and the bathroom was scary. It got even more scary when huge cockroaches came in to our room. They would crawl under the the big gap at the bottom of the from door. We got at least 3 per night. Our nerves were shot. This was our delayed honeymoon so I was planning something out of the ordinary. Our first time to the Caribbean and staying all inclusive, so we didn't really know what to expect.
