I came here last August and was so enamored that I am returning. I went with my husband and we had a grand time. The room was fine, we hardly spent any time in the room. The pools are fantastic, the food is to die for and every restaurant is great. There is plenty to do if you are looking for activities and also if you just want to relax and do nothing you can take an outdoor nap in these huge comfy beds they have by the pool. The shows and entertainment at night are pretty good. The staff is ve... Read more

Arrived on day one at 1pm looking to hopefully check in early as we were due to a wedding an hour away at 6pm that day. Told no, that we had to wait until 3. Ok, 3 is check in so not much we can do but we did try again to plead our case but the receptionist told us to sit down and use the 2 hours to think about what we'll wear! In the end we got our room at 3 with zero towels or toiletries. Day 2, go to customer bookings to book the inclusive restaurants for the week. We're told none available... Read more

The only good thing I can say about this place was that we didn't get robbed and the beach view was amazing. The food, people, room, excursion experience was awful. The food had no taste or flavor and not much variety (same thing every day). It wasn't until we got there that my significant other and I were told that we could only make 2 reservations for dinner and then you were forced to eat the crappy buffet. That was after we had already used the 2 reservations. People were not very nice and... Read more

I am not one to write these types of reviews but this resort inspired a review. We arrived at the hotel about 1pm hoping for a early check in. We were told our room would be available by 3. Fair enough. At 3 we go to the front desk and were ignored for a while. When I finally was able to speak to someone they told us the room wasn't ready and to give it another 20 minutes. We gave it another 20 minutes and still not ready. I felt like our vacation was slipping through our hands as we wasted so m... Read more

The check in process was a breeze. I've been to a few other resorts where they greeted you with a drink, this resort did no such thing. We booked a garden bungalow and it was 3 of us. They did not have accommodations for 3 people. No pull out couch no roll away beds. But as friends we were OK with this. The room was very small and compact. The lights kept going out towards the end of the trip. We were in Bungalow 1446 which was very close to lobby. The map they gave us made the resort seem very ... Read more

This mine and my boyfriend's first all-inclusive resort so we don't have much to compare to, however, I can't imagine a resort being better than this. Our room was on the 4th floor in a walk-up building (No elevator) close to the walls of the resort. We thought it was perfect because it was far enough away from the activities that we didnt hear anything at night, but close enough to everything that we didn't feel like we had to hike to get to the beaches or other amenities. I wish I could take back this vacation. I visited this resort for a birthday party which included approximately 45 people. You would think given that we had a large party and the host of the party paid for upgraded rooms for all guest-vip status that everything would be golden right? Wrong! To start, when we tried to check in we were informed that we had to pay an extra fee. Huh? We had a family trip of about 25 of us. We stayed in the bungalows which were small but decent depending on which one you got. I stayed in 1525, I had hot water and cold air conditioning. My brother stayed in 1505 and it smelled like poop (literally) and the air conditioning broke. They gave him a hard time to move him but they did. The next room also smelled like poop again, and the air conditioning broke. His third room also stunk but it was tolerable and he was tired of moving room to room. T... Read more

I had the most grateful experience in the Wyndham dominicus beach ! Excellent food, variety of restaurants inside the hotel. The people is kind and helpful. Too relax if you are an stress person. Over there you can prepare your tourism package to explore islands around DR, to dive, to travel to Santo domingo and a lot of daily activities, sailing snorkeling. People is very respectful and kind so treat them nice.

This place was so amazing; it exceeded all our expectations! It was gorgeous and everyone was very nice! There were tons of activities and the food at all the restaurants was very good. I experienced things I have never tried before! The whole resort and beach are private so you were not getting pressured to buy things and could just relax on the beach or in the gorgeous, clear water! Nobody's sad in the ocean! ; 0 )

There were shops in the middle of it, which was very convenient to get souvenirs, snacks and drinks, and even daily necessities like baby wipes, meds, sun screen, ect. We were visiting the Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach Resort for our Honeymoon in the second half of September 2016 for 2 Weeks. It was one of our best Vacations!! In general everything was fine, it isn't the European standards Hotel but still it was very clean. The Hotel guests are mostly Italians, and it is a bit hard to find English or German speaking people. The Animation Team was preparing activities for the whole day from Crazy Games through Aqua Areobic, Stretching and many sports competition... Read more

Me and my wife stayed at Viva for 2 weeks in the first half of September, 2016. It was a great experience. I will start my review from the beach area. Great beach area, with very calm waters, great for kids, no waves. The temperature of the water is perfect and the water is crystal clear. If you like, you can get equipments water-sports unmotorized for free. There are several bars to hang out at, you you wish to stay close to the entertainment the best bar is the main one, close to the main pool... Read more

Officialy rated as 4* it is more like a 3,5* resort. We stayed there for 3 weeks Well organized but some rooms / accommodation might be upgraded and renewed. Good staff - friendly but not always accurate Good service and good food but nothing special. Staff in central poolbar not always correct. Overall OK All-in not complete ! Safe box in the room to be paid for. No drinks or coffee facilities in the room.

I recently visited this resort from Oct 6-10.. I was there celebrating my 29th Birthday with a group of 16 people. The front desk has ZERO customer service. They were extremely rude. We were a bit unprepared when we arrived to find out that the "standard" rooms only have 1 bed. And none of those traveling were a couple. We contacted our travel agent immediately who advised she specifically requested two beds per room. Then we were informed they were breached at capacity and had nothing available... Read more

Let me start by saying this review will not complain about not having any English speaking TV channels, because you are in a foreign country. You should be happy with what you have. This is an honest review by me about the resort. I will not complain about the weather, the resort has nothing to do with it. I will not complain about the language barrier, please see previous statement. I want to start by saying the resort is beautiful. We had caught it after the hurricane so one of the pools was ... I stayed at this location earlier this month and was a little bit disappointed.... we arrived and when everyone check into their room their was only 1 bed when the confirmation clearly says double beds (mind you it was 16 ppl in which it was only 1 couple).. so the staff at the front desk was old us it was nothing they can do because they were booked. How? In the end the rooms were upgraded to double beds but it was across the street next to an alley where the prostitutes are working in. Bring y... Read more

This was a great location. The atmosphere was fantastic and all the employees were great, but the room was terrible. The room had the smell of old, moldy water. This was the worst smell. We had to ask for face clothes which we never received. Additionally, the toilet ran water all night long. We had to call 3 times to get a blanket for the bed. The staff was attempting to sell us on buying into the hotel/resort, which was a lot of pressure. We wasted an entire day with meeting with people for th... Read more

My husband and I traveled here October 13, 2016 and checked out October 17, 2016 and met up with our couple friends who arrived on a later flight. I would like to start off with the good. There are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy and entertained during your entire stay. Activities such as yoga, water aerobics, archery, rock climbing, trapeze, dancing, night shows, catamarans, windsurfing, kayaking, snorkeling, and baby and small children area and other activities. Worst experience on vacation ever! We went there for a wedding and were not accommodated at all as a group. It was impossible to make dinner reservations so most nights we had to eat dinner at the buffet. When you request anything from room service just plan on not receiving it. We were not greeted with drinks upon arrival to the resort. None of the staff spoke English, they speak Spanish or French. The photographer even accidentally deleted the bride and groom's wedding photo's! So they were le... Read more

This is the second time we've been to this resort. The first time was in 2012 and it was our first time in an all inclusive resort so we loved very much. Since then we've been to a few resorts in punta Cana so we have some stuff to compare. This time we had three rooms, one for us, my husbands brother and sister in law and my son came 3 days later with his girlfriend. That being Said I looked for the best deals around and this hotel was in a very good price when I booked so since we had been the... Read more

We traveled in October to the DR and when we arrived at check-in the bell captain informed me that they had badly damaged my luggage. They simply tore the pull handle clear out and the handle was in pieces in his hands. He admitted they pulled it onto the curb and it broke. OK, so what happens now I asked. He stated "Nothing, We are sorry this happened". So we checked in and continued to our bungaloes which were recently upgraded and OK for 7 days. Well, I opened the closet door and the safe was ... We booked this resort to attend a wedding there. We vacation in the Caribbean at least once a year and never stay anywhere less than a 4.5* so at first I was a little wary of going to a 3.5* resort in the Dominican Republic. I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised. Beach was beautiful, pool and surrounding area was pleasant and well-maintained, the food was good, and the rooms were clean, comfortable and updated. Grounds were clean and well kept. Check-in was smooth and easy. The s... Read more

How this place has 4 stars is absolutely beyond me. My family and I arrived on 10/23 and immediately upon arrival we knew it was a mistake. We ended up checking out the very next day. The gates open to let you in look like they are from Jurassic Park - presumably to keep you from the scariness outside. Everywhere you go, there were hustlers. Trying to get to our room was like walking through the slimiest used car lot you can imagine - everyone with their hand out. We got to our room (a beach bu... Read more

Our group booked here several months prior based on reviews and pictures of the property, overall it was ranked well and from the pictures it seemed to fit what we were looking for - plus it was affordable. We were here less than 24 hours, that's right - I called and had us moved to another resort. To say our vacation started off horrible is an understatement. This property was off putting from the beginning. Its located behind gates, which means you could never feel safe venturing off the prop... Read more

First of all I must hope that this review helps at least one rude person who I am talking about. These are the "pack travellers" who stop at the top of stairs, in the middle or right at bottom and block the way until they are finished talking. It rained every day we were there, starting after lunch and 2 full days of rain so I must say-- This resort has VERY LITTLE covered areas. Their are too few chairs and some tables around the bar area so in rainy conditions if you can't find a chair, yo... Read more

Overall impressions - nice setting. The Palace side is quieter, and in my opinion nicer. Food was average, not great. Service was OK, nothing spectacular. Scenery is nice, grounds are well kept. Service at bars was slow. Not all staff spoke English, matter of fact some spoke absolutely NO english which made it difficult to ask even simple questions. Dinner reservation process was a disaster and frustrating. You must also keep a room key in the room to keep your AC and power on. I felt ... Read more

I was quite surprised by the overall condition of this hotel in view of the fact that it was of the Wyndham chain. When we were shown to our room, we opened the curtains to a view of a rusted balcony just a few feet from the window. We asked for a room change, which we did receive the next day from Soreida at the front desk who was soooo very nice and helpful! The second room was in better shape, with a better view, however. there was always a musty smell when you first entered the room. The roo... Read more
