A lot of the key points about this hotel have already been covered in other reviews. We had a great holiday but then we just wanted to lie about on the beach or by the pool and do very little. The hotel is about 90 minutes from Punta Cana airport and I suspect that this puts off a lot of people. For us this was a plus, the hotel was much quieter (in terms of certain of the noisier nationalities) than the Punta Cana/Bavaro hotels The food in the buffet was typical Dom Rep fare - reasonable vari... After recommending my sister to consider a change from Punta Cana and Puerto Plata resorts I suggested Grand Bahia Principe and it was a hit. She booked for three days with my brother in law and their three daughters and had wonderful time and loved everything including resort, pool, shows and staff. My sister has been to many resorts in different countries and if she was satisfied then I can guarantee you that it is worth the money.

This resort was so big that we did not know what to do with ourselves! There were plenty of things going on all the time. I loved getting up early and just walking the grounds. It was just a great relaxing trip! The pool is also huge with a fun swim up bar that was always packed even in the off season of May when we went. The food was also great and I suggest definitely going to the restaurants. Whenever you go to an all inclusive, you should book your reservations to restaurants upon arri... Read more

stayed june3-9 and had a great time. Our room faced the beach and we were right by the beautiful pool. My finance had a horrible tooth ache and Elisabeth from the Golden lounge was great. She hooked him up and went above and beyond. The place had good food and the Ala Cartes were ok too. Upgrading to Golden allowed us to use the internet on their computers for free. Great excursions to Catilina Island and Crazy wheels. I Highly recommend staying here.

This was out first time in the Dominkcan Republic. We loved our location and the excursions available to us. We enjoyed all the activities at the resort that kept us entertained the whole week. It was an ex excellent and relaxing place to spend our honeymoon.

We made our booking about two weeks before we flew as we did not pay full price we had a good value holiday. Hotel was was clean as was our room, all cleaning staff were very friendly and worked hard. The buffet restaurant had a good variety of food at all sittings. The beach restaurant did a very good lunch. Bar service at the beach was virtually non existent, we found it easier and quicker to use the beach bar. Hotel lobby bar service was terrible, staff not understanding what was ordered an... Read more

We flew with Thomson holidays. The flight was reasonable, we filled in the Tourist cards on the plane and queued to pay our $10 person to get in..if you have enough time you can do this on line via their website have it emailed p, u print it out and bring it along...save a bit of time. But if you loose the document u pay again. There were 2 conveyor belts in use for us and two guys taking bags off and lining them up in two queues so its a bit of a search for your bags...lots of people worrying t... Read more

The hotel is quite clean but service is not very good. The staffs don't always understand English. The food is terrible. Same things everyday. There are two shows that couldn't be called shows. And the entertainment in the hotel is poor. I don't understand why it's rated 5 stars. It should be 4 stars or lower... The sea is not clean. Will not come back here.

We've just had a ok holiday in this hotel ,but not great, reason being ( let me begin) 1. Service is not for us Brits ,they will quite happily ignor you for the locals or Spanish speaking clients .you can stand at the bar for a long time being ignored and when you do get served you might get what you asked for ,really don't understand what your saying so they just walk off. 2. They don't have enough glasses in hotel and the ones they do have are not designed for the ( really really poor cocktail... Read more

Just got back from the Grand Bahia Principe after 14 nights stay. Have to say we had a great holiday and now a bit sad to be back home. The hotel was good, any issues we had got sorted such as beech towels missing on arrival and safe breaking down mid holiday all got sorted pretty quickly. I would say after staying at a Bahia in Mexico a couple of years ago that this Bahia is still probably learning to meet the chains expected standards but you can see progress being made. The little things miss... Read more
