Well appointed rooms, comfortable bed, clean; mine had a huge shower room and a small balcony facing onto the square, both a benefit and a curse. Be forewarned that a room at the front of the hotel means Big Ben volume bells are ringing every 15 mins with the chorus at the top of the hour ear shattering. I love the classics of Europe including bells of ancient times, but when you have to get up for business it's inconvenient. Breakfast was a horrid situation of not enough seats, droves of grump... Historical building housing an old fashioned hotel. Though very pleasant and friendly staff at reception, this reception is not an inviting place. I needed to change room due to airco noise. The change resulted in a much better room; disappointed it was not granted immediately.

The hotel was clean, unique, great location, very helpful staff, interesting elevators My one complaint is...I couldn't use my hair curling iron...even with the adapter which was frustrating and left me with straight hair (frustrating and annoying) We were told that a curling iron 'draws too many amps'. Bummer! The bathtubs are a wee bit high...not easy to get into or out of...hold onto that safety bar! Breakfast was very good with great hours. It is buffet style so the foods aren't very hot (t... Such a great place. Incredible breakfast buffet. Rooms are modern and attractive. The staff was so helpful. We had an early flight our second night and the hotel had a to go breakfast bag waiting for us at 3 am. Very close to Great museums and TiVoli Gardens. Around the corner by Burger King is a three block Pedestrian Street. Good people watching and one of the Meditterannean Restaurants has the best ice cream. There is also a very good bakery on the same street as the ice cream.

We stayed in the Scandic Palace for 2 nights before joining a cruise. The hotel itself is older with history behind it. The rooms however are modern and larger than some. We had a room on the fourth floor overlooking an internal courtyard, so it was quiet in the evening. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast provided a large variety of items to choose from. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The hotel is in the heart of the city and within walking distance for all the sites.

I would have rated this hotel more highly had it not been for the remarkably unfriendly welcome when I arrived from the ' grumpy old man' at the desk. Most reviews for the Scandic Palace praise the friendly and helpful staff and I subsequently found that to be the case with the younger reception staff. This man , however, was just plain rude - no 'hello 'or 'welcome' First impressions count! And this one certainly coloured my experience. On the positive side the room was comfortable - nice deco... The location of the hotel can't get any better. It's walking distance to most of the major attractions. Tivoli is just a walk away. The rooms are big but the toilets are just the opposite. The house keeping is not good and service is average. Would not recommend a stay with kids.

This was our last night in Europe, following a two week cruise and a seven week adventure. Nice way to finish by staying in the center of Copenhagen, with in walking distance of everything, did i mention the car free 2km shopping street next to the hotel. Beds were comfortable , staff gracious and the one night should have been more.

Very, very good location. The rooms are small but more cozy than small, the bathroom however is cozy but rather small than cozy - not a problem for a night, but can be for longer stay. Room was very clean. Breakfast good. One of the elevators is ... very interesting. Friends warned me in advance that the sound of the clock of the Town hall may be a problem - I haven't experience such. Overall I recommend it if you look for good 4-star hotel in Copenhagen.

After having tried most hotels in the Copenhagen area, I have settled with Scandic Palace as being my choice for a business hotel. It is perfectly located right on the Town Square and with an ambience that you only find in such a beautiful old building - quite unlike what modern hotels are able to offer. Breakfast is excellent, with sufficient number of healthy choices and the bar area is very nice for having a night drink og even your evening dinner. Staff is always smiling and being very helpf... Girlfriend and I had booked a standard room on the fourth floor. View was facing the quiet inner yard, which was nice. However, the room was incredibly hot and humid, we could barely breathe, nonetheless sleep. We went down to the lobby at 1 AM and were promptly upgraded to a bigger, and most importantly colder room. Staff was very pleasant throughout the whole ordeal. Breakfast had plenty of options, including gluten-free bread (although it was a tad stale apparently, but at least it's there),... Read more

I never visited the Soviet Union but I could imagine this place as a hotel there. It is bare bones, stripped of any charm, dark dingy halls, no dressers for putting clothes away, creaky elevators that you hope will make it to your floor. The hotel looks nice and the public areas downstairs are nice. We had a room overlooking the square and it was a good size and was clean. Due to warm weather, we had to have the window open as the air cooling was not very effective. With the window open the noise can be annoying, especially not very good buskers and then a mus... Booked this for 3 nights at beginning of August based on previous Trip advisor reviews and I can honestly say it did not disappoint. I booked a Superior plus room as it offered more space and amenities (2 adults and one 7 year old) and we had a room with a great view over the square in front of us. Very clean room with separate wet room, usual facilities but strangely no milk for the tea and coffee, only coffee mate. Room was kept clean enough and always done by 11am which was helpful if you did... Read more

It might have been once a luxurious hotel, but by today's standards, it is not. The location is great, the building on the outside is very impressive, the staircases are wide and made of marble, and it is very clean and probably for Denmark, reasonably priced. But, the rooms are small, with outdated closets, not enough room to store suitcases, if you have more than two, the shower in bathroom is located inside a deep tub, which makes going in and coming out pretty hazardous. The breakfasts ar... Read more

Our travel agent recommended this hotel to stay at prior to our boarding our cruise to the Baltic. The hotel was beautiful and relaxing with wonderful room accommodations. Centrally located, across the street from Tivoli Gardens and the red buses for sightseeing. Each morning we enjoyed a full buffet breakfast, included with our room. I would recommend to friends and family to stay here.

Across from city hall, you can see Tivoli Gardens, around the corner from Stroget (shopping street). We walked to most places we wanted to go: 15 minutes down Stroget to canal boats; one mile to Rosenborg Castle; and 15 minutes to Nyhavn (colorful houses in old town section). The shower was spectacular! Huge with rain shower head and regular one. Big enough for a crowd! The only drawback was the music performance in the city hall square that blasted all day and into the evening. Helpful front ... Read more

Recommended by the cruise company the Scandic Palace could not be better located. Service was good, the rooms are fine, there is a sense of decayed grandeur but comfortable. The buffet breakfast is excellent and you MUST try the Danishes.

We got two rooms with a view of the main Square. The hotel is very good, maybe not brand new, but still in a very good shape. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were very helpful as well. I will definitely stay here again.

Great location, clean comfortable rooms and friendly service make this an easy choice. Breakfast was included and catered well for a variety of cuisines and setups up for the morning. A sign of a good hotel is when a small issue with our account was dealt with quickly and with no fuss, thank you We will return on this trip and would recommend it to anyone.

Room was spacious, modern, bright and clean. It had a small balcony facing the City Hall square. Bathroom was not as spacious and had dark colored tiles. The hotel is in a well preserved historic building. Location is convenient near the attractions, restaurants, hop-on hop-off bus and shops. Buffet breakfast choices were limited but adequate and dining area can be crowded.

Great location if you have kids and want to be near tivoli. Nice old hotels with very updated rooms ,a good combo. Inner rooms are quiet other than the church bells. Rooms in front noisy, we happened to be there during a music fest. Rooms decent size. Staff friendly,. But not top notch- had to ask for shower to be repaired a few times, no follow up, not knowledgable on child care services, laundry out of hotel, etc. Just a little more work than at other comparably priced hotels.

We stayed at Scandic Palace before our Baltic cruise. It was easy to find from the train we took from the airport. We have become use to smaller rooms in European hotels compared to North American hotel rooms. What a surprise to have a huge room with 2 balconies, 2 bathrooms and a walkin closet. Check in and check out was excellent. A delicious hot breakfast was also included. The only negative was that the air conditioning was not very good. Earplugs were included but I didn't need when th... Read more

I will keep this brief : the hotel is very nice, staff is generally extremely nice, rooms are clean, the breakfast is fantastic, location is unique, especially the square view rooms with balcony, expensive but worthwile. So far so good. However, a very unpleasant surprise by checking out. Had reserved and paid for until sunday. Due to circumstances had to leave earlier and asked the receptionist on thursday if that would be possible with a refund or rain check, since I come at least twice a year... Read more

We stayed at The Scandic Palace one night before a Baltic Cruise. The hotel is within easy walking distance of central station giving easy access to/from the airport. It was also easy to walk to all major sites from the hotel (the little mermaid was a bit further to walk but it was a lovely day so we didn't mind). Plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping around the hotel. Our room was clean and fresh and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful but it was a bit hectic at busy time... Read more

It's a beautiful old hotel, but has been upgraded in all the right ways. The sound proofing was wonderful, because although the clock chimes are beautiful, they are not in the middle of the night. We paid for an upgraded room, and so glad we did. The separate shower room was amazing!!! Overall a beautiful hotel, great staff, and the food was excellent

This hotel would be excellent just for its location. You can easily walk to most venues. The Tivoli Gardens are just a block away. There are many restaurants nearby. The hotel is 100 years old but very up-to-date in every way. Our room was large and the bedding was comfortable. My only quibble would be that we could not get a twin bed room and had to have a cot brought in.

The Scandic Palace is a very modern hotel in a historic building across from the main square in Copenhagen. One block from Tivoli Gardens and one block from the main shopping street (Stroget), the hotel couldn't be in a better location. Breakfast is huge, with a great offer of fruits, breads, cereals, eggs, ecc. Staff is kind. Super recommended!

We stayed 3 nights before a cruise. The location is very good as it allows you to walk pretty much anywhere in the historic area in under 25 minutes. However keep in mind that City Hall Sq and surrounding area has homeless, etc.. that congregate near the hotel. The walk is fairly easy from the train station however the cobblestones can wreck havoc on a spinner. Staff and service were excellent esp in the buffet which was a nice surprise every morning. We stayed at the Scandic Palace for three nights before starting a cruise. We found the hotel staff to be very helpful, and as others have mentioned the location is fantastic; directly next to City Hall and one block to Tivoli Gardens. Even as a Superior room, it was a bit tighter than we would normally have in the USA, but the bathroom was quite large. As others have also mentioned, ... Read more

I realy enjoy time spent in Denmark with my family in June. People are very relax, happy and unformal. I suppose , according to that is their experience of luxury. Scandic Palace hotel is high rated and expencive but there is nothing about luxury in it. Rooms are very frugally furnished. I did not see anybody on the desk labeled "Concierge" during our six days stay in the hotel.

The Scandic Palace Hotel is clean and central . Just outside is the Town Hall . The rooms are modestly sized but crisp and clean . The bathroom doors are translucent and don't lock - a Scandinavian thing ? The gong on the town hall clock goes off until 2300 and every quarter of an hour before but that's ok .
