Must Say first that the reviews here on TA were indeed correct, the Hotel Location is in what is the de facto Red Light District. However, aside from a few Girls on the street, and a few brightly lit nightclubs, this is not a problem at all. The Hotel is Modern, Clean and very efficient, and for Copenhagen great value for Money. The Location is ideal for exploring Copenhagen, either on Foot or using an excellent transport system. Staff Interactions all excellent, and the Continental Breakfast is ... Read more

Only a few minutes walk from Copenhagen Central station the Du Nord provides a warm welcome and a clean comfortable room. Its central location means cafes, bars and restaurants are all within easy reach as is the Tivoli attraction. The hotel provides a good continental breakfast selection although the small dining room means at busy times you may have to wait before securing a table.

They were very accommodating. We had disembarked from a cruise ship and arrived around 9:00 am. They had a room ready for early check-in and even offered us their continental breakfast as we checked in. A warm welcome and a nice room. There are a couple of gentlemens clubs just up the street, but it didn't seem like a bad area. Close to some decent eating establishments and about 3 blocks from Tivoli Gardens.

Perfect location - particularly if you want to go out in the evening and hang around in the local bars and cafes. Good starting point for exploring Vesterbro and Old Town Super quick service Clean and Large albeit basic room Standard basic breakfast Totally not bothered by neighbouring gentlemen's clubs...

To start, the hotel is at a great location, about a minute walking distance from the train station. The rooms are not that small, and kind of cozy. However, the night-shift receptionist was pretty rude and not welcoming in any way. Overall, it's an okay hotel

Stayed here over the marathon weekend just gone, I found the hotel location to be perfect, right next to the train station, plenty of restaurants and what not around too. The room can be a little stuffy though with no air con, but all the same we enjoyed it. Staff were really friendly too.

Hotel du Nord is a good choice for a short holiday in Copenhagen. It has a very good location just a few hundred meters from the central train station, where the airport train arrives. The hotel is quite ordinary, old fashioned city hotel. The rooms are not fancy but clean, comfort and spacious. So check this out if you're looking for an affordable yet pleasant hotel to stay in Copenhagen.

Our room was on the 5th floor and a generous size. Big bathroom with hair dryer etc. There were twin beds, comfy and very clean, electric kettle with tea, coffee and powder milk. There is a lift and I got to see the Tivoli Gardens fireworks from my window! great! The hospitality was the best, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is totally continental, which I love. But no cooked breakfast if that's what you are looking for. The location is just terrific. You are near everything including the train s... Read more

Very conveniently located near the central railway station. Quite a few restaurants and other shops around the hotel. Situated in the red light area but it does not create any problem for anybody. Our room had almost everything required. Slightly over-priced and breakfast could have more variety.

First the good: it's conveniently located next to the train station, the staff tried to be helpful, and it's relatively cheap. Then the bad: 1. The hotel is in serious need of refurbishment. The hallways are dingy and need painting and repairs, the furnishings are old and mismatched, and there is no drawer space. 2. No AC -- which is not unusual in Scandinavia but for some reason on days when the temp was 68 f outdoors, my travel clock read 85 f in the room. It was stifling. 3. The shower wa... Read more

We disembarked in Copenhagen and checked in for a few nights before returning home. For some reason reasonably priced rooms were hard to find during our period of stay. (The before and after weekends were about 25% less) We chose to prepay for a better rate. Oops. The Good: - The Hotel du Nord is one block off the main street leading to Tivoli Gardens, Town Square and the train station, which are another three or four blocks further. - There are plenty of dining options within the same area. ... great hotel; location to train station makes it very convenient. Very clean, large bathrooms, good breakfast included, and very helpful front desk staff. Will stay here again if ever in Copenhagen. Tivoli is walking distance as is pedestian shopping streets.

The windows were shut, the room was very hot, the bed was a creaky mess. Hardly what the many pictures would have you believe. When I raised the issue to the hotel staff, they were less than helpful. So I left and went to another hotel. May I suggest AirBnB? May I suggest another hotel?

A basic hotel with a great location, literally round the corner from the Copenhagen central station. The room was cleaned regularly and there was enough room for the 2 of us within the room. Buffet breakfast consisted of fruit, eggs and a selection of cheeses and cold meats. I would definitely stay here again due to the perfect location, which isn't far from the city centre either.

We stayed 3 nights and we had room 206, a very nice large room to stay in. The hotel was within easy walking to everything - sights, restaurants, shops, especially Tivoli. We required easy access to the station which was literally minutes away and it had numerous small shops within. Therefore in our view a great location to stay and would stay again. Downside, was as it has been stated previously, breakfast - not the food which was a buffet, but seating. If you were later than 9am the breakfast ... Read more

Great hotel in THE most fabulous location for the airport/train station. Very clean and tidy. Helpful friendly staff. the noise from the street does go on all night mainly because of the hostel opposite but this is a capital city so has to be expected. the only down side is the farcical breakfast situation. the food is great no problem there but a hotel of this size with a dozen tables for breakfast is a joke. i do not want to share a table with others, i do not want to have to queue 20 minutes ... Good location, decent room size, strong heater! Try to avoid weekend, as the breakfast space is very limited, you may not get any seats for a very long time.... (their concept is more like get your own seats) staff there will not assist for you.

This hotel is just ordinary but the cleaning and wifi was good, as it should be. The rooms are ok but there is some noise both in hallway and to the streets. Breakfast hall was too small and staff less serviceminded.

Hotel is an ideal location to hit the ground running in Copenhagen, everything is on the doorstep. Our room was clean and comfortable, decent sized bathroom, safe etc as expected. We asked for a quiet room and got allocated at the end of the hall on the top floor, so no disturbance from other guests. Outside noise is to be expected in a 24/7 city centre, and while we were aware of it, it neither bothered us nor spoiled our stay. Staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was good. The location of the hotel is great - near to the station and several interesting places Buth the noise on the street is unbelievable (up until 6 o'clock noise from the hostel), we stayed for 4 nights and we were lucky that we could have a (smaller) room on the backside of the hotel - the breakfast choice is very poor and really everyday the same, and nothing warm to eat either - the staff on reception desk was friendly - not the staff in the dining room

We stayed at this hotel in July, 2016, fortunately for only 2 nights. The room, a twin, was tired and the carpet was in need of a good clean. The hotel, whilst centrally located, was in a seedy area. Our room overlooked the street which was noisy at night. There were two ‚??gentlemen‚??s clubs‚?? located in the street as well as a large youth hostel opposite the hotel with people coming and going at all hours. At around 2:00am, the prostitutes arrive; the police, according to the front des... Read more

Just a five minute walk from Copenhagen Central Station which itself is only a 20 minute train ride from the airport. The hotel is clean and the continental breakfast is good. Rooms have tea and coffee, TV iron and ironing board. The hotel is a good base to explore the city. Would recommend

The hotel could not have been better placed for our city break. Walkable from the railway station even with suitcases and close enough to the main shopping street and the canals without using public transport. The breakfast was typical continental style but it was tasty and plentiful. The room did not have air-conditioning but we could open the windows. We had a triple room. The beds were comfortable enough and there were tea and coffee making facilities. Good for people on a budget.

Hotel Du Nord is in a great location. We stayed three nights in the hotel. Our room was at the rear of the hotel and was as a result very quiet. Breakfast was basic but adequate. By Copenhagen standards this was a 'bargain'. We would certainly stay there again.

The hotel is maybe 3 minutes walk from the station. We explored the whole of the city on foot from here, although we caught a train to get to the design museum. From the hotel, if you head out west on foot there are some great places to eat as you head towards the old meat packing area. Breakfast is a self service buffet - meat, bread, fruit, cereals, cheese etc. Plenty to have enough to set you up for a good day sightseeing. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and the b... Read more

The hotel has got some pretty awful reviews and when reviewing the street/area I agree. I walked just the one time down Colbj√łrnsgade, later on I approaced and left via Istedgade. The hotel itself though was ok, not 5 star but ok, could do with a thorough scrub though, a lick of paint here and there and a few carpets removed. The front desk staff extremely nice and helpful. It's actually a decent hotel for what you pay. It's a great location, very near to the station and central location. The noise is a bit loud at night but nothing you can't solve with ear plugs! As for the gentleman clubs and prostitutes, you're in Denmark... they're everywhere and there is always a safer way round to the hotel if it bothers you. Rooms are a bit dated but the beds are there, roof and walls are solid, you get a bath AND a shower so I think it's pretty good! Stayed for 3 nights wit... Read more

The hotel itself is in an older building and quite charming. It is conveniently located near the central station and close to Tivoli Gardens. If you get a hop on/off ticket, there is a stop at Tivoli, so it's a good way to get around. My room was clean, but on the small side, which is just fine for a solo traveler. I think it was a "standard single", so other rooms are probably larger for couples/families. I was a little concerned with the bed being located right next to the door, but I didn't r... Read more

Elderly mom spent a few days here recently while visiting her ill sister. Mom has traveled independently and with no problems. Hotel du Nord was clean and she had a decent room, but on the last day of checkout, while her bag was in her room, someone went through it and stole her bag of jewelry. She realized this when she had gone on to Sweden adn unpacked there. . Nothing really expensive, but with great sentimental value as some pieces were from siblings who have passed away.
