The only positive experience with this hotel is good location in the centre og Copenhagen. The rooms appeared quite shabby. The shower, toilet or hairdryer didn't work. Toilet room was small and old with sewage smell. After showering the floor was wet. I will not recommend to eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant - poor selections of food and empty trays. No air-condition. Coffee machine was out of order. The room card stopped working. Low value for money.......

Old, stock standard service but great location and has charm. Not really suitable for a business traveller. Clean hotel overall with the rooms clean and the hotel lobby nicely done. The bathrooms are not to any great standard, tiny and need serious updating.

Great central location, good sleep but the room was not clean. Windows full of pigeon "rests", view into a dirty backyard, greasy bathroom door and the bath did not have a plug to take a bath...getting room service to search fro the right rubber plug (here great effort). Hotel immediatly excused by offering breakfast. A good place to stay central in wonderful Copenhagen, check your room carefully when you arrive.

Great location for central Copenhagen. The layout of the hotel made our room liable to excessive noise from other guests in the lobby/ library below. Late into the night and very early in the morning the shouting was awful.

This was an excellent hotel with a large room in the center of Copenhagen. Adjacent to restaurants, shopping, and across the street from Tivoli Garden. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Filmon went beyond the call of duty to make our stay a great one. The marathon was running on the day we checked out, so we had to take a taxi on the next street, and the Manager in Duty walked our baggage over there. Exemplary customer service.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, he was working and I explored the city. Based at the end of the shopping strip and a short walk to many of the city's highlights, it's worked perfectly for both of us. The room has all the amenities you'd need and it even includes a free soft-drink mini bar in your room. There is a great courtyard in the centre of the hotel in which you can enjoy drinks or the complimentary tea/coffee from the lobby. The staff are also very polite and helpful, even upbe... Read more

I flew in from a night at the Kamp Hotel in Helsinki to this hotel in Copenhagen. My assistant told me it was hard getting a reasonably priced hotel in Copenhagen so she tried this one. The Kamp is heaven and this is a bit like a hostel in comparison. Check in took 20 minutes. The front of the hotel is a bit shabby. The public spaces are a bit tired and dark. I was asked at reception whether I wanted a noisy room or not. I got one overlooking the main street. It wasn't too noisy, although there... Read more

Nice location of the hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Coffe maker in the room, which I value a lot. WIFI working well. Location great when being a tourist. My husband and son could walk to Tivoli. I on the other hand had to get to Sydhavn for work in the morning, had to take a bus since it was difficult to find taxis in the mornings. But it worked fine. A good and centrally located hotel with a simple breakfast and a poor ventilation system in the room. We felt very welcome as a guest. At the reception they are very friendly and helpful. If, in particular, the rooms can be better fresh air ventilated, I would recommend this hotel for a stay.

My Mum and I stayed in this Hotel and really enjoyed our stay. We were given one of the older rooms very much in need of a complete refit, but for the price we paid it was fine. The beds were comfortable as both of us suffer from bad backs, we slept well. The breakfast could be set out to look a bit more appealing, but it was a reasonable selection to satisfy most people. The best thing about this hotel is its location. And you can't get much better than that. In the very heart og Copenhagen, opposite of the City Hall, walking distance to Tivoli and the main shopping street. The hotel itself is supposed to have the 'shabby chic " feeling, however it is in bad need of restoring it to the former glory. The staff seems nice and the place was clean enough but the rooms appear to be about 90 degrees Fahrenheit inside making it really hard to sleep or be in the room for any period of time. It's about 62 degrees outside so I'd guess that the rooms would be even hotter if you are here during a heat wave. A well positioned hotel. It is old and historic so you do expect the conversions to be difficult - but the architect/designer who thought this one out should have been fired. We were three senior couples and the size and quality of the rooms was inconsistent. If you want a quiet room you will likely end up facing ventilation shafts or the backs of other buildings which are very very close. The biggest grumble though were the sparse bathrooms. We booked to stay just the one night, and found the hotel very easily. The lobby and entrance area really has the wow factor and is beautiful. The room itself was spacious for a standard double and was nicely furnished. The cleanliness of the bathroom let it down - there was mould on the bath. This hotel is perfectly placed right on a main thoroughfare very near to tourist attractions like the Town Hall and Tivoli Gardens. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast offering was incredibly varied. The decor was a bit dark, but that was in keeping with the hotel's "historic" theme. I was especially pleased to find a desk fan in the closet of the room, which really helped cool the room at night after an unusually warm summer day! Nice touch.

I stayed here for two nights and I had a great experience. The location was perfect--within walking distance to the main square, metro stations and the Central Train Station that makes to to and from the airport, but most importantly it was quiet and the bathroom was clean. It is an older hotel, so you can't apply the same standards you would to a brand new Ritz Carlton but if you're coming to Copenhagen, you want to stay in a place like this that feels "local." I booked a twim room at the Frederick in Copenhagen as i wanted somewhere cool, within my budget and free wifi. This hotel has all that. There are Complimentary San peligrino drinks in the room fridge and you will need them as it gets extremely hot in there. Our room looked out into the centre of the hotel whIch seems to have originally been the external walls and where a roof now encloses the space. No tea and coffee making facilities in room. Wifi a bit patchy, limited English TV. Long list of famous people who have visited in the past up on the wall, but "in the past" says it all.

The location of this hotel is great, two blocks from City Hall, two blocks from Tivoli, two blocks from the pedestrian shopping mall, a lot of restaurants close by, really well located. However, the hotel itself is not great. The Decoration is very dark, the lobby and ground floor are not bad, BUT there are rooms that give to the interior court, which means there is no ventilation and this hitel has no air conditioning. Noise from the ventilation outside my window was also a bit annoying. Would I choose this hotel next time I visit Copenhagen. Definitely not

You get a true feel for life in Copenhagen at this hotel. There is no air conditioning but that is the way the Danes do it!! It is close to EVERYTHING!! The rooms are small but clean and staff is excellent. The hotel has bikes that you can use to get around because that is the Danish way!! Highly recommended.

Excellent location however the hotel was a bit tired and needed some updating. Breakfast (continental, with a limited hot food) was excellent. Hotel also needs air conditioning. We asked to be moved from our designated room as this was on the main road and very noisy. They were able to accommodate us in a much quieter room to the rear of the hotel. Very helpful and knowledgable reception staff.

This is a review of my first time staying in this hotel chain in Denmark. This hotel has both a modern feel wrapped in turn of the century atmosphere. The old world paintings on the wall make this a curious accommodation along with the multi story atrium when you walk past the very nice old school type of front desk. The black wood and light carpet trim give it an unusual accent, reminding you that this was one of the oldest original type of hotels in Copenhagen. The Italian restaurant connected... Read more

Although my room was very nice, it did not have air conditioning in the room. So it was very hot in the room, it was impossible to get a good night of sleep. Because the room was on the inside of the hotel next to the atrium, and the sun was shining, it was extremely hot in the room. The atrium's temperature was like in a greenhouse. In winter this might be fine, but in on warm days I would not recommend this hotel. Also the price of the room was very steep, over 200 euro's per night.

It's a block from Rådhusplassen in an old building (and in case you forgot, København is an old city), so complaining about small bathrooms and funny smell won't cut it. That's København.
