The Copenhagen Strand is an ideal hotel that is perfectly located for exploring Copenhagen. Many of the sights are within walking distance. The hotel provides great service, rooms are comfortable, breakfasts with plenty of choices and spotless. This is where I would stay on any return to Copenhagen.

The hotel is situated centrally in Copenhagen with walking distance to "everything". Near Nyhavn but in a quiet street. 5 minutes walk to subway taking you directly to and from the airport makes it very convenient for the ones flying in.

Fine little hotel in a wonderful part of town--about 8 mins walk from hotel to metro and fabulous neighborhood with shops and cafes. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The only real downside is the comfort of the bed and the pillows. After five nights my back, neck and shoulders are in pain. Pillows really need to be upgraded!

The hotel is in a very good location, close to the city centre, transportation and with a beautiful view of the canal. On the pro side, it was reasonably clean; the breakfast for 125 DKK is very well worth: on the buffet you can find pretty much everything you might want for a continental breakfast, including Danish pastries. Free strong wifi in the room and the lobby. On the down side, I was extremely disappointed with the room, certainly for the price we paid. It was extremely small; not even ... Read more

I had a tiny room under the roof, so small that I could not even put my suitcase flat on the ground. While the external temperature was around 18c, temperature in the room was around 28c, with no air conditioning. Very very unpleasant. The bathroom is also small and not very well equipped. Only pros: good location, quick free wifi and good quality breakfast. Overall conclusion: avoid.

Lovely hotel with great views and great location! Loved how close it was to the nyhavn and we walked to the shops and the little mermaid! :) the staff were very helpful whenever we needed advice! :) would recommend it to anyone who was travelling to Copenhagen :) it's a train ride to the zoo but well worth a visit on a sunny day!

We stayed in the canal facing family room in front which was very comfortable and also has great view. Location is very convenient and most of the major attractions are in a walkable distance from the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Standard breakfast is included, and is the only time the restaurant opens, but there are a lot of options nearby for lunch and dinner.

We had a room with a 'partial view' of the canal... It was - very partial. The weather was extremely hot, and consequently so was the room - there is no air conditioning, for which staff were very apologetic. A fan provided some relief. However the location is terrific, and the service, (and breakfast) was great.

As a location the CopenHagen Strand is excellently situated. Just around the corner from the popular Nyhavn. Far enough away not to hear the noise but close enough to visit on a whim. I thought the room was a bit small but had a great bathroom and wifi was good. We also had the added bonus of a bijou balcony. The staff were polite and curteous and I liked the touch of the free Danish most days.

The best of this medium standardhotel is its handy location. My room was facing west and I had to endure sweltering heat in the afternoon when I had to work with my computer for a couple of hours. I think the waitress should had drawn the shades after the cleaning up , The whole space was sundrenched and my Ipad was burning. I absolutely loved this hotel and its location. I had a small 2-room suite, with a bedroom and a sitting room. The sitting room had a desk and chair, a small couch and another reading chair. The bed was king size and super squishy and comfy. They bathroom was a decent size and had 2 sinks. Both rooms had windows that easily opened to the outside, which I loved. The Strand was very clean and reasonably quiet. We were lucky to have a room on the alley since we were sleeping with our windows open. The staff were very professional and friendly. The hotel is an easy walk to most of the sites in Copenhagen, so it's good for a long weekend. Our room was quite small with a small balcony but the view of a brick wall was not so nice. Two things are definitely good with Strand hotel; the location and the breakfast. (On the other hand you can take a few minutes walk and find a nice place for breakfast to a better price.) We stayed here for two nights in September 2016. The location is excellent for walking around and exploring and there us very little noise in the area at night. The hotel is in need of maintenance and refurbishment. Examples - the entry way carpet is threadbare, latches on room windows were broken, drapes were badly faded, TV in bedroom did not turn on with or without the remote. Staff attempted to steer us to one particular restaurant even when we requested info on other options. Wifi was in... Read more

Nice reception and receptionist Room was terrible: Small, decor outdated, carpet with holes, bed sheet with old stain, bathtub with hair and paper (if not worst) clogging the water exhaust, noisy, no bedside table, no airco etc... I guess i got the wrong room in a beautiful city

I had less than 24h in Copenhagen, so I wanted to stay in a hotel that was conveniently located from the main attractions of the city, so I chose Copenhagen Strand. It is a three minute walk from Nyhavn, so super convenient, but far enough away so that it's quiet. Great location. However, the hotel itself is older and could really use some sprucing up. You couldn't escape the feeling that the hotel was old and worn. Breakfast is not included, either. But everything seemed clean and the staff we... Read more

Stayed at the Copenhagen Strand for two nights in September 2016. The Location: Absolutely perfect! Just a short walk to the main metro station, Nyhavn and Paper Island. This hotel also has lovely water views and several nearby bars, restaurants, and bike rental shops. The Room: I was expecting it to be small but this was tiny! We had a standard room with a full sized bed, a charming little balcony, and a cruise ship sized bathroom. Honestly, this was all my partner and I needed during our sho... Read more

We spent one night at the Copenhagen Strand Hotel after we got off of a cruise ship. It's a nice hotel with a great location (2 blocks Nyhavn and the Canal ride). The room was clean and updated. Bed was comfortable. Room was small (but all rooms in Europe are). We had to leave at 7:00am to go to the airport so we didn't get to try out their breakfast but the restaurant looked nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very happy with our choice as it was only for a single night. Reception staff very helpful and able to access our room earlier than expected. Located down one side of the hotel, the room was very quiet and whilst small, the bay window helped create a feeling of spaciousness which was welcome. I recognise a small room is all you get for what is a modestly priced Hotel in this city - a reminder VAT is 25% in Denmark which clearly pushes up the price of almost everything quite dramatically at times... Both Debbie and I thought that this was a lovely hotel in a great location for seeing Copenhagen. The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant and the room was very comfortable and warm. If you are visiting Copenhagen then stay at the Strand, as it is central to everything in the City. Beware Copenhagen is very very expensive £16 for a beer and a glass of wine.

This is a perfectly functional hotel, with decent rooms and good service. The Scandinavian style full breakfast was excellent. I stayed here for three nights during a recent conference. The location, however, could not be better. The hotel is located just a few minutes' walk from Nyhavn, one of the liveliest and most beautiful locations in beautiful Copenhagen, and the central Kongens nytorv. Everything you need is within walking distance.

I stayed here for one night on a business trip. The location is great, right across from the water and walkable to some nice areas of the city. The hotel has a quaint, old-school European vibe which was neat, but is partially the result of just being old and outdated. The rooms are small (not atypical for Europe) and the bed was actually two very tiny beds pushed together. Even the blanket and pillow were smaller than any other hotel I've stayed at, which bugged me while I was trying to sleep. T... Read more

Don't book this hotel through hotels.com you will be given a terrible dark cell at the back of the hotel on the first floor. Rooms shown on the hotels own website look lovely, large and bright. We booked because of great trip advisor reviews. We thought we booked a superior double but had accidentally booked a standard double. It is not pleasant. Small, dark, view of the parking lot. Bed appears to be a queen, not a king as it was supposed to be. When we checked in today we asked to upgrade and ... Read more

We stayed here in the summer and it was ROASTING - but the free iced water on reception was a welcome relief. The staff were friendly and our room was small but clean and the wifi was good. A great location for a short central stay in the city.

Due to a favourable average customer rating (8 of 10) on Booking.com, my wife and I chose this hotel for our stay in wonderful Copenhagen Oct 13-16. Our impression after having stayed at this hotel is mainly very positive, and we would definitely consider to stay there again. Here are the details: :: Location: Central within walking distance from Nyhavn (3 min) and Kongens Nytorv/Metro station/Str√łget (6 min). ::Room: We had booked a double standard room (17 sq.m). However, nine days bef... Read more

Despite being in a prime location, this hotel has little to offer. The front entrance is quite inviting, but the rooms were dark, dirty and cluttered with unnecessary furniture. Our toilet would not flush, there were stains on the mattresses and curtains, the walls were dirty and shower drain was covered in rust and flooded the bathroom every time you showered. There was also no safe in the room, and the wifi was intermittent. The rooms were not cleaned every day, just the blankets folded and mo... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights with my mum late October, hotel is in a great location round the corner from nyhavn. Rooms are adequate and are clean and comfortable but are a wee bit in the small side. Breakfast is amazing, no hot food but hey I'm not here for the full Scottish! The Danish pastries are to die for and ohhh my god the pate... actually hold me back before I single handedly eat alllll of it! No safe in the room but safes available at no charge at reception... all you have to do is ask! Al... Read more

Great location and price compared to most places. Very short walk to nyhavn and Copenhagen street food. Wifi is good and free. Rooms are TINY. Almost reminds you a of cruise ship room. Service was good except for breakfast hostess was rude. I truly believe what sells this place is the location

This was the second time I stayed at the Copenhagen Strand Hotel. I had a better experience this time, but I'd probably choose another hotel if it was up to me -- this time my trip was organised by my employer. My room was nice enough, but it all looks like it's stuck somewhere in the 1990s. Bathroom shows signs of wear and tear. I woke up feeling quite cold in the morning -- only to discover that the heating was off; it hadn't even been switched on. This struck me as quite surprising, conside... Read more

We booked a three night break at this 4* hotel. Having to cancel in the week of travel due to a death in the family. I contacted the hotel who informed me it was not their responsibility but the booking agents. 1st mistake. I contacted the agent who then contacted the hotel and put my case forward despite it not being their responsibility. No one could deal with this that day( 4* hotel) more return calls the following day to be told NO REFUND, I even suggested a later date so as to carry the boo... Read more

This is a nice welcoming hotel on the waterfront and near to city center. The metro is 5 minutes away. The rooms are quite small, but comfortable and clean. This windows can be opened, which is good for some fresh air. I was received with a helpful and smiling staff. Breakfast is perfect, with a lot of choice and Danish products. The room has a desk big enough to work on and the WIFI is average.

My bathroom door was broken, toilet could barely flush, window are not air tight, the rooms are woreout, noisy rooms, you can hear people loud and clear from the neighbouring rooms. The switch on my lamps where old and barely possible to use. The location is central and if you don't care much about the condition of the rooms I guess its ok.

We have stayed here for a two day trip with my 80 year old mother in law - the hawk and I usually go interior pleasing hotels but this was about function and location as it was a treat for the hawks mum . The hotel is a bit corporate for our tastes and needs a bit of sprussing up but does the job . The location is perfect for the shops - the rooms clean and neat . This place is in a good spot. It's near the popular streets and areas that you'll want to go to, but just far enough away to not be kept up by street noise. Room was nice, great bathroom. We didn't spend much time in our room, but it gave us nothing to complain about. Front desk staff is very helpful.

We upgraded to a suite and it was very well worth it, lovely large room, his and hers basins in the bathroom, great view overlooking the harbour. Would certainly stop there again. It's a shame they don't use the restaurant for evenings but there are a couple of good restaurants less than 2 mins walk, one is Michelin starred, but out of range for my pocket.

The Strand is perfectly situated on the waterfront, and within 5 minutes walk of Nyhavn, where there are numerous places to eat and relax. Our room was cosy, warm and the bed, pillows and duvets were brilliant- I don't think that we have had better nights sleep in a hotel before. The breakfast was excellent with lots of variety- the breads and pastries being my favourite, and the warm solid porridge with apples & fruit being my wife's. If you book through the hotels own site (which we where told by the receptionists it was the best thing to do) you maybe get what you have booked and paid for - but if you book through booking.com they do not give you what you ordered - that was what we where told buy the girl on the desk.
