Stayed for business trip in august 2015. The location of the hotel is probably the best in town. Everything is walking distance and the harbour next to your doorstep. I loved the breakfast but the room was average. Very small room - clean though - which was quite pricy. I think you pay more for the location and not for the room. I cannot give my opinion for the rest of the rooms as there could be bigger. The single bed i asked for was tiny (abt 10-15sm)

The Admiral Hotel is about a 3 minute walk to Nyhavn without the noise and crowds. Nice view from our room with a view across the harbor of the Opera House and an 3 masted schooner docked outside the hotel. It is about a 10 minute leisurely walk to the Little Mermaid, with a park on one side and the water on the other. Take time to walk through the gardens and see the waterfall and fountain. At the fountain you look directly up to the Amalienborg palace where you can see the changing of the guar... Read more

The history of this hotel is fascinating, built in 1787 as a warehouse to house granary, with wooden beams in the rooms and throughout the hotel. Rooms very comfortable, each with different design. Perfectly located within short walking distance to many of the top attractions in Copenhagen. The view was beautiful watching the ships in the harbor. Of the three nights we stayed, two were very peaceful and quiet yet one left us with little sleep due to the noise outside, even with our window closed... Read more

We had a nice stay here over a hot (for Copenhagen!) weekend. Great position and a wonderful old building. Reception staff were exceptionally nice. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but we had lunch one day and it was very good. So what's not to like? Very simple: no air conditioning! That may sound rather precious and fussy but trust me: it's not! The hotel has hugely thick walls and super well insulated and in hot weather it gets HOT! The obvious answer is to open the window - which we di... Read more

Not clean enough (when the pillow case moved in the night as it has no buttons or anything and slips half of the pillow on sight badly stained!!). (I will add photos of how dirty the pillows and mattress are) The TV not working ! No air con (and we were lucky to be in a day with 23 degrees outside so slept with windows opened and noise from outside) Rude staff. Two night stay. Firstly the good points. Very interesting rooms architecturally, a converted shipping warehouse and clean. Excellent location but both a blessing and a curse as in terms of position it could not be better but in terms of noise it could not be much worse. No air con is a massive minus because of the noise with the windows open. The staff were polite but inefficient. I reported two of the three light bulbs over the bathroom sink unit as out on our way out during the day and a smili... Read more

Only stayed one night after a cruise but a wonderful place to stay! It is very near Nyhavn and the Amalienborg Palace in fact right next door! The breakfast in the hotel is one of the best buffets I have ever seen... Do not miss that! The outdoor bar faces the opera house across the canal! Only funny incident was they apologized to us for no air conditioning because the weather was so warm , over 80 degrees! How nice!!!!

Old stone and timber building is captivating both inside and out. The harbour views are fantastic. Leave the window open and in the evening you can faintly hear music from a venue across the harbour. At night it's quiet and peaceful and you can still enjoy the fresh air. Our room had everything necessary, but being tucked in behind the elevator shaft, it was small and somewhat disappointing. If you go; make sure you don't get one of these and you will be just fine. The Salt restaurant was attra... Read more

Excellent refurbishment ,great staff but should have been told that there were roofing works being carried out , which meant there was scaffolding to our elevation( over looking the road). A letter from the manager, in the room, said works would be carried out between 8am and 4pm but the builders usually woke us about 5am! This meant the window could not be left open and with no AC it was hot, even in May.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. Location is great, close to main attractions but if you are looking for some silence at night and a good night's sleep you'd be very disappointed. First off, the walls are very thin and you can hear people snoring. Secondly, the hotel management needs to decide if they are running a club or a hotel. Private events with loud music run until 1:00am. The music is in your room if you are either facing the water (regardless of the floor) or anywhere on the f... Read more

Stayed two nights at end of Baltic cruise. Rooms very spacious but at night were too hot and even room fans were no use.In fairness management recognised this problem in a letter delivered to each room. Breakfast buffet a little disappointing as there were few hot choices and no smoked salmon on the cold buffet.

This is an old quayside warehouse which has been converted to a very modern and high quality hotel with a very nautical theme - model sailing ships abound and there are old cannon at the front door. It has a pleasant terrace on the quayside for drinks, abundant helpful staff and very well equipped rooms. Breakfast was good, evening meal has a limited menu. I found it difficult choosing a hotel in Copenhagen. I finally decided on this hotel because of the location and it was perfect - close to Nyhavn, Amalienborg Castle, Christiansborg Slot etc. Our room rate didn't include breakfast so we just had cereal in our room each morning. We were on the 5th floor inside the roof space. This did make the room hot and there was only one little window to open for fresh air. It is a big hotel so there is nothing really personal about it. I spent a long time reviewing where to stay in Copenhagen but ended up disappointed with The Admiral. On arrival I asked could we have a room on the water front but was told by a grumpy receptionist that they were only for guests that had booked direct with the hotel so we were given a room on the road side which was noisy. Hotel was heavily booked, but they gave us a crummy room with no AC, despite fact that we paid over $450/night for 3 nights. Staff was helpful and very pleasant. The restaurant "Salt" was delicious and worth the hefty prices. The breakfast was not even close to being worth $40, $15 would have been more like it.

We booked a Junior suite on the top floor to house the three of us. Mum found the room a little small once the bed-settee was spead out but to be fair, it was more than adequate and not cramped. This monumental hotel filled with character, massive wooden beams (sometimes in odd and dangerous places) and dark and oppressive halls, is the center of summer water sport, cycling and gourmet dining. The outside activity contrasts to the interior gloom in a playful and appealing way. Be ready for surprises as sunny skies turn to rain torrents and woolen blankets and umbrellas seem to appear and disappear amid spectacular outdoor dining.

We stayed here with kids for 3 nights prior to boarding a cruise. We stayed in the top floor suites which are 2 levels with a king on top and a pullout below. The room was functional, but fairly cramped due to beams, stairs, etc. Washroom was tiny and rooms overall could use a refurbishment. The hotel is reconditioned old warehouse, and has a lot of charm, with plenty of exposed beams and a general nautical theme. The location, next to the harbour and close to loads of bars and restaurants is perfect. Due to the age of the building, it can be sometimes akward to move due to low ceilings and beams, but not that much trouble overall. The Salt restaurant is also good value for money, with tasty food and a great view

Very interesting building and history. Great location. That is all the positive I can say about this property. If you want a night with reasonable comfort be certain to insist on a water view NOT street side room and the higher the floor the better. Street noise is a problem and especially on the lower levels. Not a good value for the price.

Hotel location is great but as we walked to breakfast we realized that all of the other rooms on the floor were slightly larger and offered small seating areas. Without air conditioning we had our door open during the night but because we were located at the front of the hotel we were awakened around midnight by a very loud poetry reading by a guest at the front entrance below us.
