Stayed for business trip in august 2015. The location of the hotel is probably the best in town. Everything is walking distance and the harbour next to your doorstep. I loved the breakfast but the room was average. Very small room - clean though - which was quite pricy. I think you pay more for the location and not for the room. I cannot give my opinion for the rest of the rooms as there could be bigger. The single bed i asked for was tiny (abt 10-15sm)

The Admiral Hotel is about a 3 minute walk to Nyhavn without the noise and crowds. Nice view from our room with a view across the harbor of the Opera House and an 3 masted schooner docked outside the hotel. It is about a 10 minute leisurely walk to the Little Mermaid, with a park on one side and the water on the other. Take time to walk through the gardens and see the waterfall and fountain. At the fountain you look directly up to the Amalienborg palace where you can see the changing of the guar... Read more

The history of this hotel is fascinating, built in 1787 as a warehouse to house granary, with wooden beams in the rooms and throughout the hotel. Rooms very comfortable, each with different design. Perfectly located within short walking distance to many of the top attractions in Copenhagen. The view was beautiful watching the ships in the harbor. Of the three nights we stayed, two were very peaceful and quiet yet one left us with little sleep due to the noise outside, even with our window closed... Read more

We had a nice stay here over a hot (for Copenhagen!) weekend. Great position and a wonderful old building. Reception staff were exceptionally nice. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but we had lunch one day and it was very good. So what's not to like? Very simple: no air conditioning! That may sound rather precious and fussy but trust me: it's not! The hotel has hugely thick walls and super well insulated and in hot weather it gets HOT! The obvious answer is to open the window - which we di... Read more

Two night stay. Firstly the good points. Very interesting rooms architecturally, a converted shipping warehouse and clean. Excellent location but both a blessing and a curse as in terms of position it could not be better but in terms of noise it could not be much worse. No air con is a massive minus because of the noise with the windows open. The staff were polite but inefficient. I reported two of the three light bulbs over the bathroom sink unit as out on our way out during the day and a smili... Read more

Only stayed one night after a cruise but a wonderful place to stay! It is very near Nyhavn and the Amalienborg Palace in fact right next door! The breakfast in the hotel is one of the best buffets I have ever seen... Do not miss that! The outdoor bar faces the opera house across the canal! Only funny incident was they apologized to us for no air conditioning because the weather was so warm , over 80 degrees! How nice!!!!

Old stone and timber building is captivating both inside and out. The harbour views are fantastic. Leave the window open and in the evening you can faintly hear music from a venue across the harbour. At night it's quiet and peaceful and you can still enjoy the fresh air. Our room had everything necessary, but being tucked in behind the elevator shaft, it was small and somewhat disappointing. Excellent refurbishment ,great staff but should have been told that there were roofing works being carried out , which meant there was scaffolding to our elevation( over looking the road). A letter from the manager, in the room, said works would be carried out between 8am and 4pm but the builders usually woke us about 5am! This meant the window could not be left open and with no AC it was hot, even in May.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. Location is great, close to main attractions but if you are looking for some silence at night and a good night's sleep you'd be very disappointed. First off, the walls are very thin and you can hear people snoring. Secondly, the hotel management needs to decide if they are running a club or a hotel. Private events with loud music run until 1:00am. The music is in your room if you are either facing the water (regardless of the floor) or anywhere on the f... Read more

I found it difficult choosing a hotel in Copenhagen. I finally decided on this hotel because of the location and it was perfect - close to Nyhavn, Amalienborg Castle, Christiansborg Slot etc. Our room rate didn't include breakfast so we just had cereal in our room each morning. This monumental hotel filled with character, massive wooden beams (sometimes in odd and dangerous places) and dark and oppressive halls, is the center of summer water sport, cycling and gourmet dining. The outside activity contrasts to the interior gloom in a playful and appealing way. Be ready for surprises as sunny skies turn to rain torrents and woolen blankets and umbrellas seem to appear and disappear amid spectacular outdoor dining.

The hotel is reconditioned old warehouse, and has a lot of charm, with plenty of exposed beams and a general nautical theme. The location, next to the harbour and close to loads of bars and restaurants is perfect. Due to the age of the building, it can be sometimes akward to move due to low ceilings and beams, but not that much trouble overall. Hotel location is great but as we walked to breakfast we realized that all of the other rooms on the floor were slightly larger and offered small seating areas. Lovely place - very comfy beds & pillows. Elevators were always busy - but the rooms are clean & service was good. There was no designated smoking area, so there were always lots of people standing around the doors smoking. It would be nice if a space was provided where smokers could sit and enjoy a coffee/drink and the gorgeous view.

The outside weather was perfect 65-75, but the halls and rooms were much hotter, requiring keeping the windows open with a fan on the window sill. The street noise (all night long) was obtrusive. The room amenities were average (no wash cloths!). The lobby, bar, sitting areas are beautiful with the old wooden beams. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was expensive and pretentious--there are much better choices along the canal a few blocks away.

We didn't get a harbour view so it was very noisy at night, though we did get to catch a glimpse of the fireworks that apparently are on every night during summer. Right on the water and not far from all the attractions, this is a great hotel. Rooms are a tight fit but the view over the water makes up for it. The hotel was ok. It had a lot of charm given it was an old maritime building but charm only goes so far when you have a giant beam in the middle of your guest room that is smack in the middle of the walkway from a bed to the bathroom. Room was a deluxe double and spacious with good quality beds, beams made getting to wardrobe and safe challenging but this was part of the charm. Bathroom could do with an upgrade, looking tired and room was quite dark and could use better lighting. Howev... Read more

Hotel was in a very central spot and only a few minutes walk from Nyhavn. Hotel room was a good size, clean and warm. Hotel staff were really helpful and friendly. Great bar too! Also ate at Salt restaurant which is part of the hotel on the first night which we enjoyed thoroughly. Fantastic stay. Would recommend. Loved Our visit to Copenhagen.

Stayed here for only one night. As waiting to meet up with friends arriving and already booked elsewhere for rest of trip. Great hotel. Fairly large. Upgraded me. Which was terrific. To a room with a river view overlooking the amazingly designed opera house. Good sized bedroom with seating area. Breakfast good. Staff lovely.

The Copenhagen Admiral Hotel is a waterfront historic building that was once a warehouse. The rooms have wooden beams that the developers made sure to incorporate in the decor of the hotel rooms and all throughout the hotel interiors. The location of the hotel is quite central to many tourist attractions by a 10 minute walk. It is perfectly located by the water and allows guests to stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the great views waterfront views of Copenhagen.

Was not fully satisfied There was a smell when we entered the room Their policy is when u drop the towels on the floor it means that you need a new towel but when we get home the towels were hang back I felt bad and it happened twice Most of my hotel travels if u stayed more than 3 days they will consider giving you extra hour for check out Asked the hotel receptionist if I can stay until 1pm for my check out instead of 12noon but they asked me to pay 20dollars additional Breakfast food ... We had already informed the hotel we were going to get married during our stay, however whist booking in, the receptionist made a show of upgrading us to a same priced room, but water front. We also had an unpleasant smell in our room, the towels and bed linen were not changed daily. The room had twin bed mattresses with a dip in the middle. As above the bathroom was small and incredibly dated. The breakfast was good, it never changed but it was fresh and tasty, however be warned you are charged... Read more

Great location but rather overpriced with small window that is half filled with concrete. Very nice view to the new opera house. Nice bar with excellent service. The rooms are nice, bathroom rather small and comfortable beds. Too bad the corridor is filled with materials under the arches which makes it indeed impossible to pass other passengers in the hallway.

This is lovely place to stay. Set in a beautiful and very well located building, which apparently once housed a large granary. Breakfast was great with loads of options on offer, although it was very busy on both mornings we went down. We had a standard double which was a decent size and had a comfy bed. Staff were all friendly and helpful and although we didn't eat at the restaurant we did order food from the bar which was very tasty.

Fantastic building with outstanding breakfast and great location. View on water side is wonderful. Interior walls a little thin between guest rooms so I needed ear plugs one night. Didn't get to enjoy waterfront tables at this time of year.

The Admiral Hotel was built as a granary in 1746 and survived the Battle of Copenhagen in 1801 thanks to its immensely strong structure of massive walls and huge wooden beams. The hotel rooms are artfully threaded into this structure producing some quite quirky spaces. The location is perfect for sightseeing in Copenhagen; close to the royal palace, Castellet, and the vibrant Nyhavn restaurant area. Reception staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Checking in and out was very smooth.... Read more

Very nice hotel for Copenhagen. Nicely re-done old, waterfront building. It's in a great location, just a short walk from the palace, and lots of restaurants. Though American should keep in mind, it's typical of European hotels ... very small. And tall people especially beware: with the curved brick going right down the hallway, and beams through the room, there are lot of chances for anyone who is not careful to hit their head. The windows on the waterfront side, though tiny, have good vie... Read more

The staff on reception and behind the bar were excellent, very friendly and helpful. the rooms are quite basic, but clean, we asked to be moved from our top floor room because my bed was horrendously creaky! Top floor rooms also have the bed on a mezzanine accessed by a spiral staircase, which was awkward. We were moved down to the second floor which was a great improvement. It's not worth paying extra for a view of the water, particularly if the room is on the top floor.

Fantastic hotel, we had great views of the water from our room. The staff are very friendly and the hotel interior is lovely, especially the wooden beams that were in our room. The breakfast is also worth the money and the selection is great. Would highly recommend this hotel to anybody I know - couldn't fault it.

This hotel has everything going for it on paper: great location, great historical building, size. But its management or owners have managed to make it an average, unremarkable place. Why ? 1- rooms are ok. Not more than that. Beds are squeaky, linens average on the old side, towels really old. 2- the bathroom reminded me of the one I use while going to Kinshasa in DRC : bad light, depressing yellowish/brownish colors, bad printed tiles. What makes it worse is the quality of the shower head ,... Read more

I stayed in the Admiral for my husbands 30th birthday surprise weekend. Copenhagen is a lovely destination for a long weekend. Easy transport via metro from the airport, if you're staying the weekend consider the day tickets for 24, 48 or 72 hours and 3 zones will get you far enough for this hotel, getting off at Kongens Nytorv stop, then about 15 minute walk down the beautiful Nytorv strip and one other road and you will arrive. Stunning hotel and quirky features inside with the nautical theme ... Read more

Has a fabulous stay at the Admiral. A converted warehouse, the Admiral is located right on the Harbourside and within walking distance of Nyhaven, Amalienborg Palace, and the Little Mermaid. In fact most of the old city is within a 20 minute walk. The rooms are small and dominated by heavy wooden beams that add charm but take up a lot of space. The room is OK if you travelling alone and the views of the harbour are a great consolation. I am sure they must have larger suites if you're travelling ... Read more

I have booked this hotel for my parents, when they came to visit me in Copenhagen. As they do not speak good English, I went with them to check in, and helped them to find their room. At the check in - woman was talking to her colleague, while checking us in - therefore we had to stand with outstretched hand with credit card waiting her to finish her conversations. She asked for a credit card, my mom had her visa electron, which was not good enough - as it SHOULD BE A CREDIT CARD. I gave her min... Read more

This hotel was really neat how they took an old grain storage building and turned it into a hotel. I love the way they kept the old beams even if they end up being in the middle of the bedroom, it really gives it a unique feeling. The location is perfect, I couldn't have asked for better. You are within walking distance of everything!! Go on one of their drawn out walking map tours and don't forget to catch the changing of the guards at 12pm.

This is a lovely conversion of an interesting old building within walking distance of pretty much everything. It's lovely at Christmas, lovely decorations and really cosy. Checking in was a bit chaotic and not the warmest welcome, our reservation couldn't be found, we heard the receptionist telling other guests that there would be a loud lobby party and so they offered free upgrades to rooms just above it.
