71 Nyhavn is in a delightful spot, with friendly and attentive staff. But be careful - check before you book - it is a very active building site with over half the hotel shrouded in builders plastic and noisy with building activity. Restaurant and bar also shut. Expensive upgrade got a view that wasn't building site. All that said the trip was really good.

My husband was in Copenhagen for business and I joined him so we chose this hotel because it had suites. While he worked, I knew I would be spending some time in our room after a day of shopping and sightseeing. We booked a junior suite since we were staying for 11 days. Our room was on the top floor of the hotel. The bedroom was very small, and at first glance , disliked the bedroom layout especially for a long stay. My first thoughts when approaching the 71 Nyhaven Hotel: It's wrapped by Christo! One of the two historic buildings is currently undergoing renovations and is completely wrapped in scaffolding and plastic. The picturesque photo's on the hotels website are not exactly representative. Also work starts at 7am. You may want a room on the other side. The hotel itself is well run, has free WiFi and the breakfast is good. Our 'executive' room was small but well equipped. Good bed. The bathroom was a ... Read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our comfortable stay here. Great breakfasts and attentive extremely pleasant staff. All went like clockwork despite there being major building works within the hotel. Great position. Only advice would be to be prepared to walk away from this district to eat because the local restaurants very touristy overpriced and nothing special.

Just a 10 minute walk from the Kongens Nytorv metro station, 71 Nyhavn is conveniently located to restaurants, shops, museums, night clubs, even the Royal Danish Opera, which is only a short ferry ride across the harbor. We stayed there because it's a "happening" area of the City. Lot's of outdoor restaurants and cafes to enjoy a meal and watch the passing street scene nearby. The only downside is the hotel is currently undergoing extensive renovation which we were not aware of when we booked... Read more

I was rather worried about staying in this hotel because of the building work going on. First of all the work is in a separate building and as long as you do not have a room with windows overlooking the building site you will not hear anything. The best rooms have a sea view. Unfortunately with the view comes the noise from people coming home from bars late at night. Higher floors are quieter and some rooms are bigger and more expensive. Lack of sufficient lighting in the rooms is annoying if yo... Read more

The hotel's location in the historic seaport area is great, easy walking distance to the Metro and so many restaurants, museums and sights. You can pick up a boat tour on the canal as well as the Hop On Hop Off Bus just steps up the canal. The hotel itself is charming. Rooms are on the small side and our twin beds were much narrower than US twin beds and made for some restless nights. But the staff is friendly and helpful. This hotel is situated in the perfect spot. At the end of the famous street/canal, you get the best of the location minus the noise and crowds. Walk 5 minutes and you have the canal cruises? Walk 15 mins and you can visit the Marble Cathedral or the Rosenburg Castle or the Little Mermaid! And their staff was so helpful and knowledgable about what to do and how to get there. For those who don't want to stay in yet another bland Eurobox hotel - a clever conversion of old warehouses on the waterfront. Staff and building charming, but slightly surprised that hotel had a four-star rating as rooms were small, there was no complimentary water and hot drinks that could be made in the room had to be drunk out of paper cups. Ugh.

Stayed here for 2 nights on business. I wanted a hotel that was in the heart of Nyhavn and this couldn't be better. It's at the end of the street on the water with great views and close to all cafes. I enjoyed the excitement and vibrant area. Room was a bit small but new and clean. Free breakfast and wifi. Would stay again.

We stayed three nights in mid-August at 71 Nyhavn, prior to a cruise. At the time of our stay, alteration of the adjoining warehouse building, which is an addition to the hotel, was still on-going. This in no way interfered with our having a pleasant stay at the hotel. I should point out that the staff is very accommodating. When I booked our stay, I had requested, if available, a room with a view of the harbor. Upon arrival, we were given a very nice room that faced another very near building.... Read more

We settled on 71 Nyhavn after looking at a multitude of hotel options around Copenhagen. Our two night stay was relaxing and hassle free and the hotel's location is just perfect for strolling around Nyhavn, crossing the bridge to Paper Island or heading to the shopping on Stroget. Our room was quite small, but very cute with timber beams giving this warehouse conversion an impressive look. We'd certainly stay at 71 Nyhavn again. Big thumbs up also to the charming and helpful staff.

We stayed here for two nights and it was our first time in Copenhagen. The location of this hotel is fantastic, right on Nyhaven with many, many nice restaurants and a short walk to everywhere we wanted to see in our short time here. The hotel was a cute boutique property and our room was pretty cool...exposed beams, good size, etc. The only problem was that when we booked it there was no notification that it was under construction and our room window was completely blocked (the entire side of t... Despite major construction in part of the hotel our room was lovely and very quiet. Great in-room wifi. Front desk and breakfast area was also quiet and pleasant. Because of the construction there were some obstacles on the street (piles of bricks, machinery, etc) that had to be circumvented. Not a big problem.

Simply put, stay here. - The staff was excellent, extremely helpful - The room was great. Converted building with charm - The bed was best of the trip - The Nyhavn area (pronounced "New-houn") is the place to be in Copenhagen - The facility is currently under restoration but that didn't affect the stay at all - No negatives (and one can usually find a negative, but not here)

New Haven 71 is an excellent Hotel in the heart of Copenhagen it is close to several tourist sites including The Little Mermaid. My trip was a business trip which included many visits to the Bella Center this was easy because the hotel is 7 minutes walk from Kongens Nytorv or Metro. The hotel is in an area that is easy to access the whole city by the metro. The hotel is located at the end of Nyhavn quayside. One end of the hotel looks out over the sea on the bridge on the ferry. Having undergone a beautiful renovation, I was given one of the "new" rooms on the Nyhavn port side. It was beautifully furnished in keeping with the building's history as a warehouse for Oriental spices. The rooms are quite large and all-inclusive. The view of Nyhavn, the new pedestrian/cycling bridge and opera house was beautiful. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful and the downstairs bar was cosy with great drinks! The location of this hotel can't be beat, as it's virtually in the c... Read more

A great hotel for a short city break. The hotel location is a short walk from the Metro station through the busy and colourful harbour area. The reception staff are welcoming and more than happy to help. Breakfast is served in the smart new dining area, offering a generous selection of delicious hot and cold food. We stayed in the older building and our room was clean and comfortable but would benefit from an update including new furniture with increased drawer space. A room with a view is a mu... Read more

Conveniently situated at the open end of Nyhavn (harbour) and less than 10 minutes from Kongens Nytorv Metro station. The building appears to be a converted warehouse, although I'm not convinced that all the old wooden beams are structural, I suspect some may have been added for effect. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated and furnished with a comfortable bed, efficient en-suite facilities, well-stocked mini-bar and other goodies. And the curtains are so thick we overslept on the first mo... Read more

Hotel located in the nice area of Nyhavn that is very central for the sites to be seen in Copenhagen. Walk off in any direction and you will find something interesting. We had a nice little room with a view of the water and to our minds it met the Danish concept of hygge (pronounced hooga, means something like cosiness). There was tea making facilities in the room and good free Wi-Fi. There was also complimentary hot drinks available in the foyer all day. Breakfast was fine with one or two Danis... Read more

My 20-something daughter and I spent the 2016 Labor Day weekend at 71 Nyhavn while we toured Copenhagen. Very good location for the task - central to public transit and to the core sights we wanted to visit. Mornings at the hotel were perfect - white linen tablecloths for breakfast in a well-restored setting, with an ample buffet for the guests. After a full day's touring, it was great to see our hotel among the picturesque pubs, shops and boats that lined the way. Inside, the accoutrements coul... Read more

Stayed here for two nights in November. Was very pleased that I chose this hotel after looking at so many online. The location was brilliant because it was very quiet at night, no traffic noise, etc. Over the water, is the food market that has lots of trailers serving food, drink and was a great place for food and drink. It was a nice walk beside the water up to the little mermaid statue. The room was nice and spacious, the breakfast was superb and constantly restocked with fresh fruit, smoot... Read more

Stayed two nights in this hotel in Nov '15. Fantastic Hotel even though it was going through a renovation when I was staying. The Hotel is a converted pair of early 1800s warehouses and such is situated right on the beautiful Nyhavn Harbour. I booked an Executive View Room which was wonderful, large, elegant and with great views of the harbour and waterways. Breakfast (included) was excellent, as was the free Wi-Fi. First visited the hotel before an extensive visit to Scandinavia and the Baltic countries 18-19 years ago. The hotel just finished an extensive renovation that has enhanced all the charms of the original structure. Bar and restaurant were intimate and service excellent. Breakfast was well done with full range of meats-eggs-cheeses-fruit-crepes and great coffee! Service is attentive and very friendly . Located right on the waterfront of the old harbor, you step out the front door, turn left, and there is the Nyhavn (the New Harbor ... actual quite old and picturesque), with its old sailing boats, modern canal tour boats, and floating restaurants (older boats converted). It's what I imagined what Denmark should look like. Step out the back door, and you see the National Theater and across the harbor is the Opera House. Within walking distance of the hotel (one mile or less) is tourist highli... Read more

I used to stay at this hotel about 10 - 12 years ago as my company used it as standard. I remember that i liked it then and now i decided to try it again. I have to say that it is a great hotel with an architecture and inside quality that i really like. It is an old warehouse close to the channel in the middle of the older part of Copenhagen. The room i had was really nice as well as the hotel facilities. I went out for dinner and it is a lot of very cosy places to choose between jjst outside... Read more
