We stayed in Hotel Pachtuv Palace from 5/5 to 9/5 2016 We stay in Prague once or twice pr. year and for past six years we always stayed in Hotel Pachtuv Palace because of the good locations, grate river view and nice old hotel. But in our last visit we were disappointed. We got room number 408 (Deluxe suites with River view), double bed was with terrible mattress to soft, felt like trampoline so neither of us could sleep. Despite having sent the hotel an email to get better mattresses than la... Read more

I visited Prague with my wife last week from 9 to 13 May. We could not have chosen better accommodation than Pachtuv Palace Hotel. All facilities and location were excellent and the staff particularly made our visit most enjoyable and memorable. Their service was very efficient, professional and friendly from start to finish - this includes initial telephone enquiry, reservations, guest relations, housekeeping, café and doormen. Definitely an address to recommend!

For our anniversary, we booked, well in advance, a prepaid 8-night stay in a Palace Garden View Suite based on the very attractive picture and description (73 sq m (786 square foot)) on the hotel website. It turned out that the suite, Room 310, is in the attic, accessible by a narrow staircase from the second floor. The entire suite is traversed by low support beams. You cannot walk from the entry to the bedroom without ducking or bumping your head because the maximum clearance along the cente... Read more

An excellent stay here. Very helpful staff, super breakfast and our attic room was spacious, interesting and very comfortable. The hotel is a creative refurbishment of its original buildings but it's great advantage is its unbeatable location, minutes from the Charles bridge and the old town square.

We recently spent a week in Prague, and stayed in a 2 bedroom suite at Pachtuv Palace. First off, the location and the physical property are perfect. Loved being able to get to Charles bridge at sun up in only 1 minute or so from the hotel for some beautiful pictures. The staff was great and tried their best for the most part but 5 Star, no way. First night, we arrived after a long trip from the states. We were tired and decided to order room service and turn in early to get up early the next ... Read more

We recently stayed at the Pachtuv Palace and we were very disappointed with our experience. We chose the place for the history and potential charm. Unfortunately we were not impressed. The room we stayed in was 104. It was a suite with two rooms. It had very old musty and dated furniture. There were marks and holes in the walls. Three of the four vanity lights in the bathroom were out so it was very dark and hard to see. We asked to have that fixed the first night but no one ever came to fix it.... Read more

The hotel is in a fantastic location very near to the Charles Bridge meaning that all major attractions are within a short walk. On arrival they only had us booked in for one room when we had booked 2 but this was immediately sorted without fuss. The River Suite rooms are large and well appointed. the bathroom was basic but had everything you needed, the separate toilet was a good idea. The plug in the bathroom sink does not stop the water going down which was strange to me but maybe usual in Pr... Read more

Our room was really an apartment. It overlooked the hotel courtyard. Right on the river and very beautiful. Breakfast was included in the room price and it was lovely. Had to pay extra for the eggs - get the Benedict - so worth it. Only complaint was that it was noisy at night!

Had an enjoyable stay at Pachtuv Palace but there was a couple hiccups during our stay. Supposedly had a great view of castle and river but there was a huge tree in the way blocking our view. Their response was " the picture we saw online was taken in the wintertime". Avoid Room 402 unless the view is not a big deal. Also the shower/tub had a partician that didn't prevent water from hitting the floor. Never will understand why it isn't 1/2 the length of the tub. We had a Superior Deluxe. It in... Read more

We got the two bedroom suite. It had a large living room with bedrooms and bathrooms on either side. I felt like a rock star in this apartment sized room. State of the art big screen TVs in the rooms. The mini bar area was exceptional and covered part of a wall with its utilities and goodies. It was $450/night for this very cool pad; it would have been much more in other countries, considering the size of this place. The food was very good, although limited for a place with such luxury rooms. ... Read more

We stayed here for 5 days during our recent trip in July 2016. It was outstanding from every aspect from our lavishly appointed room with views of the castle, attentive staff and delicious meals and wine. It is also in the centre of town on the river so you can walk everywhere. Everything was organised seamlessly right down to the car to the airport. Would stay here every time I visited Prague. Highly recommend.

I am giving it a two (instead of a one) because it is a beautiful, well-located property. I'm a travel agent who booked some good clients in the Baroque Suite of Pactuv Palace as part of a longer luxury trip to celebrate their anniversary. In following up with the couple on their return, Pactuv Palace was the only place where they had a problem. Not only did the other hotels honor what they'd committed to do (hello!), but even sent champagne to their room because of their anniversary. By con... Read more

We told the hotel, our choice was different from theirs and they said they would resolve the situation but they took the first couple off to a suite and when questioned claimed the other couple had a suite too. Spent three nights here in June 2016. It was our first trip to Prague and we were really happy to have chosen the Pachtuv Palace. Our suite was extraordinary, having two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large living room. The view from the third floor was perfect, overlooking the river and the Prague castle. The suite seemed to have been recently redone and featured comfortable beds, modern amenities and excellent central air conditioning. The staff was friendly and efficient and the location of ... My husband has a medical condition and the original room they reserved for us did not work so they tried very hard to find a room that would accommodate his needs and we really appreciated their efforts. Location is fantastic. 1 minute from the Charles Bridge; 5 or 6 minutes walk from Old Town square. Staff are very friendly, although some language barriers exist. Staff at the front desk were very helpful in making restaurant bookings. Cleaning service was excellent. Air conditioning was great - critical on the hot and humid days. Downsides were the cafe: food subpar; friendly staff but the language issues were comedic at times; the lack of a restaurant attached to the hotel (yes, it's comi... Read more

My travel companion and I were supposed to travel to Europe in July and stay at the Pactuv Palace for four nights, arriving on July 27th. However, due to a sudden illness, we had to cancel our trip to Europe altogether. The last time I visited Prague was in the days of the communists in the mid 80's. I was told to expect massive changes. And that was correct. Still the beautiful old city but without the food queues, the requests to buy the clothes you were wearing, or swap local currency for hard currency. The shop windows that had been adorned by tins of jam or pressed meats were now adorned by Tommy Hilfiger, Chanel, Louis Vuitton etc. The city was alive and buzzing. First, we did not stay in the Royal suite; we stayed in the attic above it. Still, it was a very spacious and airy suite, although there were many low beams ready for inattentive heads. We stayed in Prague for 4 days at this hotel. Initially we had a river view suite, but they upgraded it to a castle view after we checked in. I am not sure why, it could be because they realized they were short staffed and made us wait to check in, or maybe they just did it to be nice. Whatever the reason, the view is breathtaking. We were on the 3rd floor, and they provided binoculars to see the castle up close. Aside from being next to the Charles Bridge, this hotel is not far from Old Town's... Read more

We stayed in a very comfortable and well-appointed, two bedroom suite. The room was great and the property location at the foot of the Charles bridge on the old town side is fantastic. We found the concierge service to be lacking. When we asked for a recommendation and introduction to a private tour guide, we were simply given a standard tourist brochure and told to pick one. Likewise, we got a very "mass-tourist" recommendation when enquiring about a dinner cruise.

We stayed at the Pachtuv Palace for 4 nights in late July 2016. Worst hotel experience I have ever had. Worst "customer service" and "management" experience I have ever had. For starters, we were given a room with broken air conditioning during 90+ degree weather.
