This hotel used to be for the Communist leaders. It looks stark from the outside but inside it is spacious and old world. The rooms were decent sized and immaculate. The location is safe and within walking distance of a decent restaurant and trams to downtown.

The hotel didn't provide any concierge help when we landed up with our Baggage. Our room had a nasty smell. Nothing hey did helped. The housekeeping women was a horrid one. She snarled at us and just separated the room with air purifier. I think the room had some sewage vapours coming into it from some vent. They changed our room. We dragged our bags ourselves. Again. airConditioning didn't work! And the repairman came and said he couldn't fix it. The reception staff although friendly as... Read more

Overall, the hotel is great. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable with just the necessary facilities. WiFi is excellent and covering all hotel areas. Air conditioning is great. But, the room service food menu is very very limited. It has about 6-7 dishes only!!!. It definitely needs an improvement. Other disadvantage is the TV. It has only Czech channels with few NEWS channels for other languages, what about international channels for movies?!!! I wish these points co... Read more

Rooms are of decent size and comfortable. Some of the reviews commented on Small breakfast area, during our stay the hotel was fully booked but we still did not faced issue in finding ... Read more

Realy nice building from sovief era. When you enter you will feel like in time machine. Reception was great, they took time and showed us map and one of them gave us printout of things to do - it was so usefull. Every restaurant was a hidden gem. There is more of them some more talkative than others. Look for curly haired guy and thin tall guy with broken arm, they make such a good team. It was so much fun to chat with them. See you next year guys... I will book that tower suite for sure :-)

The rooms look a bit tired although functional and spacy. Breakfast was good and enjoyable as was lunch. This hotel isn't far from the center, about 10-12 kms. It used to change the hotel name before, maybe under new management. There are about 200 rooms. You should know which elevator you must use to get to your room. Wifi in the room is free and fast, but weak at the lobby.

This hotel resembles the style of the Soviet times; not only on its façade from the 50s, but unfortunately also the attention at front desk seems cautiously mimicked from those times: obnoxious and utterly inefficient; in the most prominent style of Soviet bureaucracy. That is, my card got demagnetised and instead of quickly fixing this issue between check-ins (as it's a common practice on other hotels), they neglected the problem and applied the straightforward way: FIFO. After around 10 cons... Read more

We stayed two nights, the room was well equipped, even ironing facilities. It was a lot larger than we expected the room to be. We overlooked some of the maintenance issues in the room as the staff were so helpful with requests and the room was very clean with lovely city views. Included breakfast was sufficient. The hotel itself resembles a true traditional hotel from a past era. Our group booked a small banquet dinner which was also well catered with tasty food at reasonable prices.

On our tour of European cities this was our two night stay in a beautiful city. You cannot help but be impressed as you walk into the hotel. It must be steeped in history, but for our tastes it was a bit old fashioned. We ate out the first night at a local restaurant, but dined in on our second night, and there was an excellent buffet breakfast.
