Came to stay first week in May, a friend and I had a twin room with two single beds. The beds were rock hard and uncomfortable with only one pillow for each bed. The room was right on the main road, traffic VERY noisey, but room got so hot at night you had to sleep with windows open. There was an air conditioning system but it was complicated to use and was under the window and mainly covered by the curtains. The room had a TV, but hardly any working channels and poor picture, so there was basic... Read more

same as the other reviews, after i stayed here. i can say, this hotel is overreviewed. or i could assume, it used to be a good hotel, but now, far away behined. location is good, not far away from the metro station. the room is basic, big enough. for the price i paid, i have nothing to complain. however, if you are expecting something more, please be prepared and lower your expectation.

I have stayed at this hotel twice and both were very pleasant experiences. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast..and the location is also pretty good! It's not really in the centre-centre of the city but almost, it's only two metro stops from Vaclaw square. I would definately stay there again if I went to Prague.

Hotel is in a reasonable location just 10 mins walk down to Wenceslas Square and another 10 to the old town. The room we had was a reasonable size but a bit shabby and very hot even in early May when the weather was not at its best. The air conditioning was feeble and opening the window let in traffic noise but was just about bearable to sleep. Towels were very poor and basic. No bath mat provided and my friend took a tumble on the very slippery floor in the bathroom. Breakfasts in the basement ... Read more

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The room was basic but had everything we needed. The en suite was great apart from a large crack in the sink. The choice at breakfast was amazing, never had so many things to chose from and you could go up as many times as you wanted. The location is great for anyone wanting just a short walk to the centre of Prague but tram/metro station was just down the road too so you could chose public transport if you didn't want to walk. The good - Clean and tidy - Friendly staff who speak very good English - Fresh towels supplied daily - Decent shower - Wifi always works - 10 minute walk to shopping centre The bad: - DO NOT ask reception for a taxi! We were charged 450cz for 6 miles! Our taxi back was only 250cz!! - No bar in hotel lobby, just a vending machine - Avoid booking a room that is on par with the main road. Some mornings were very noisy. There is no air con so the window had to stay open unfortunately. If I wen... Read more

The hotel is very close to the IP Pavlova metro station - that is all that I could understand from my 3 nights there in 2 separate rooms on 2 different floors. Nothing more than a elaborate B&B that serves only breakfast buffet and no other meals. Overall I would rate it as basic or even below. The rooms on the top floor are small, as they have converted the attic space into rooms, but the other rooms on the lower levels are large and roomy. The windows are large and the whole place is not new,... Read more

Stayed at Hotel Saint George for 3 nights and couldn't wait to leave. Upon arrival an unexpected holding fee of â?¬300 for each of the rooms needed to be taken and with a large party took over 20min to check in. The rooms were basic to say the least and looked like they were last decorated 30 years ago, all rooms smelt very unpleasant and even with the windows open all night didn't help. The air-conditioning units weren't up to much, the rooms were extremely hot throughout the night and day. T... Read more

We stayed at the St George Hotel for 4 nights and found the staff very helpful. The breakfast is continental so no complaints there, our room was on the ground floor due to being disabled even though they have lifts, didn't work that out they did allow me to store and charge the scooter in the garage. It is a *** hotel and you get what you pay for. The hotel is situated on a main road and is noisy all night long, there is no air conditioning so difficult to sleep at night. The hotel is good value for money and it has very good location, close to the city center and metro station. The two things that i didn't like is the bed mattress is soft and also carpet in the rooms is quiet dirty. But I think that in Prague for the level of this kind of hotels is pretty much the same.

This was supposed to be a no frills hotel but it turned out quite good for us exceeding our expectations. People manning the reception desk were friendly and helpful. Room was large and quite good (4th floor). It can get quite hot at night but you can always keep the windows open. Breakfast was excellent with a reasonably good choice. At the end of our stay we were also able to keep our luggage in the luggage room for a day which was very helpful. My only complaint is that wifi is very patchy a... Read more

Great hotel, great food we stayed bed and breakfast. Located a stones throw from wincelas square and all tourist spots, whilst staying here for a week we never used pulis transport once, we got everywhere on foot no problem. If you do want transport it's on your doorstep more or less. friendly staff and great restaurants nearby not expensive either we ate well two curses and drinks for two for under £35 . Would recommend.

Very quiet through very close to the national museum (which is by the way now under construction). 5 min away from I.P. Pavlova metro station. Lots of small restaraunts and pubs around. Staaff is most welcoming, rooms are small but very cosy, decorated in retro style. Good choise for the breakfast, including pastries and cakes. the street hotel located on is very quite even though the main roads from the both sides. the location is very good.

As others have said, it's close to I P Pavlova tram and metro. Quiet at night. Beds comfy. Clean and spacious. Cons-one pillow each. It was in the high twenties/low thirties outside but air con could not be adjusted, it was overridden to 26, which made sleeping difficult. Plumbing is erratic-temperature varied wildly during your shower. I mentioned all three things at reception but nothing was done. However, it was cheap. We found the hotel central to all the sights which we wanted to see. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast consisted of a wide range of items which included cereals, variety of meat, cheeses and fruit. There was also eggs, hot and cold and sausages. This set you up for the day.

We booked this hotel because of the location and WiFi. The Internet didn't reach to our room so we anyway had to use 3G the whole week. The service was okay but no smiles at all. Be ready to listen to K-maro the whole stay at the breakfast. ;)

Spent two nights. Very clean. Nicely furnished. Buffet breakfast with wide selection of food. Problem with climatization, very noise in room climatization ventilation. It seems that central cooliing didn't work. With closed window room temp. was 26 C after powering off room climatization and opening window temp. droped to acceptable 21 C at night but there was some traffic noise from road below. At that time other guest also complained about inefficient climatization.

The room looked lovely, but would not be cooler than 24.5 degrees overnight. With the windows open, it was cool, but too noisy due to the traffic. The pillows were also uncomfortable, the wifi did not work in my room, and the temperature of the water during a shower fluctuated in the mornings. Reception staff were helpful, the breakfasts were good, and we had lots of good restaurants in our area. A bar in the hotel would have been nice, but more importantly, better cooling in the rooms, more com... Read more

The hotel is in a perfect location- 5 minute walk too the metro, and little shops/bars/restaurants nearby! And the breakfast in the hotel was lovely! Would completely recommend the medieval night that you can book through the hotel, it was amazing! Live entertainment and unlimited beer/wine! And the food was great! We loved it ! Thank you :-)

Average hotel with a reasonable price -BUT there is no cosy feeling to the area - no cafe scene and that it what tourists come to Prague for. It was over a kilometre to the old town so you really need to use the metro or tram (really easy from I.Pavlova station). The room was ok and a decent size. I would rate the hotel as 2stars, it clearly has seen better days. I am in a attic room with filthy windows. The beige carpet is dirty, and the edge is black. The shower tray is ceramic with a crack, the door edge is falling apart and has been badly poly filled and painted, there is patches of mound and brown stained grouting in the shower, the shower head is broken and water comes out of the hose not the shower head, the holder is also cracked.........I can feel the springs in the mattress and...
