My family has been in the hotel business since 1963, so I understand hotel management. There is no clear information on the hotel website PRIOR TO MAKING A RESERVATION that the selection I booked for next September was a non-refundable reservation. The website hid this information. I would have gladly made a refundable reservation. I called the hotel management this morning to cancel or modify the reservation to a refundable reservation. My daughter and I spent 5 nights at the Design Hotel Neruda in mid- May. The core building dated from 1348 and is within a 5-7 minute walk to the Prague Castle and a short walk to the Charles Bridge. It was a fine choice and we would happily return on a future visit to Prague. Rooms were elegantly appointed and had very comfortable beds. The bathrooms were excellent. Breakfast was very good, although the space for serving was somewhat limited in space. The most outstanding feature of the hotel f... Read more

They helped us with restaurant recommendations, directions around the city & a tour reservation. The hotel is a great location, behind it is the famous Prague castle & it's only a short walk to the charles bridge. I would highly recommend staying here!

If one doesn't know where the hotel is, one might not find it immediately, because it does not look like a hotel at first sight. There's just the name on the front wall next to the entrance. After having entered you'll discover the reception (open 24/7), where a warm welcome awaits you by the receptionist and the guest-manager. The rooms are all different and not all of them are very spacious. Nevertheless they all have a beautiful design. Staff is very helpful and friendly, always prepared... Read more

We booked for 3 nights but on arrival were informed our room had been flooded. As the hotel was full, we were unable to stay for our first night. However, Linur and his staff were very apologetic and had already arranged temporary alternative accomodation just down the road. When we returned the next day, we had been allocated an upgraded room. The room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed with a view onto the street, and the air conditioning was a bonus. The breakfast was amazing and... Read more

We took a long time in reviewing our stay in Prague and wanted to be a little bit further out from the main square as it is very busy, both day an night. I have to say this hotel is a little gem, its position is perfect, so close to the castle and cathedral and a little walk to the main sites and bridge. I am a bit of a perfectionist and have to say the room was very clean, comfortable beds and an excellent view from our window. The main point for me has to be the staff, very attentive and polit... Virtually steps away from the castle in a quiet neighborhood (but a little hill climbing is required when you come and go). Staff was extremely helpful and polite. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was functional, but not luxurious. Easy to get to from the main train station--just a short walk up the hill after catching the new #15 tram. I would gladly stay again.

Without realising we had booked a hotel which was in a fantastic location, the castle hill with all its palaces, cathedral, convents just around the corner, on the Nerudova street which led us to the Charles bridge and the old town in a 15 min walk. The hotel itself was certainly meeting our expectations of a contemporary place with character. Our room was small but nicely decorated which a very comfortable bed, we hardly heart any noise from other rooms in the hotel, 2 aspects which are very i... Read more

Stayed here for 9 nights to visit a congress and do a bit of sightseeing in Prague. It was an excellent choice for location, reasonable price and a really good selection of food for the included breakfast. Only problem was there was no shower, just a bath with a handheld shower.

My boyfriend and I had stayed at Airbnb's and decided to splurge for our last night in Prague...we couldn't have picked a better hotel! (Once you get past the hike up the hill from the tram stop) The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast bar was more than I could have asked for. We stayed in one of the design deluxe rooms, and it was everything we could have wanted and more. I requested a bottle of wine for a small fee, and the staff unexpectedly decorated the room with ros... Read more

I stayed here for four nights last week and highly recommend it. The staff is so nice and accommodating and friendly - honestly among the best customer service I've ever experienced. The hotel is very clean with a nice breakfast buffet. The rooms are a little quirky and getting around the hotel is like a maze. The building is from 1348 but has been nicely updated with modern amenities. The beds are incredibly comfortable, as well. The hotel is in "Lesser Town" on the other side of the Charles B... Excellent breakfasts and service. Sited in an ideal location just beneath the castle and not far from the old town, though on a quite steep hill when returning to the hotel. Only real criticism is the tiny lift but there are stairs too.

The location is just below the Castle, so it's pretty steep around the hotel. Apart from the closeness of the Castle, there are some decent bars and restaurants nearby. You're not in the Old Town, it's a decent 25-minute walk - but you get to take in some decent bits of Prague including the Charles Bridge along the way. And the walk will work off some of that Czech food and drink! We had an excellent welcome, the staff are helpful and friendly. The beds are very comfortable, the room was gene... Read more

Great little hotel. Staff are excellent, helpful and very knowledgeable. Although room was small, we did not spend very much time in it, it was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was good with offerings of freshly made pancakes and eggs, as well as continental offerings, fruit and pastries. It was in a quiet location just in front of the castle. Would definitely recommend.

Not much to add to husband's review (majorpete), as he said good breakfast, brill massage, friendly staff on reception who remembered our room number when asking for room key. Only slight niggle was that as we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary during our stay I thought we might have got a card/chocolates etc. (I see that honeymoon couple did get fizz), though we did get a room with a street view and kettle in our room which we weren't expecting.

Excellent service and great breakfast. Nice rooms, perhaps a bit small. Short walk for sightsee in Mala Strana Castle and monastery park. Hop on hop off stop was near. Several good restaurants nearby. Propably not as crowded as the old town

Perfect service, included breakfast and room. Photos don't do it justice. Visited as part of our honeymoon and had rose pedals spread throughout our room. Couldn't recommend it higher! Large bath in an alcove with a window to the city at the end!

We've just come back from a mid week break in Prague, and stayed at this hotel on the west side of the the river, just under Prague Castle. We had a fantastic time; whilst the hotel is a ten minute walk from the old town on the east side of the river, its in a beautiful part of the city surrounded by czech restaurants and gorgeous architecture. It is uphill, walking back is a work out but not painful! The hotel is quirky, an old building over different levels. The staff are incredibly frie... Read more

Stayed for few nights while on a business stay in Prague. First the location is great, in the very heart of old town within a short walk to the tourist places. Room was stylish and very very clean. The breakfast was great, even my picky eater wife could not pick on anything! Last but definitely not least the staff is exceptionally helpful and professional. Would definitely stay here again when back to Prague.

The hotel is positioned just beside the castle on the lovely Nerudova street. This was the first time me and my other half had visited Prague and the staff were brilliant at suggesting ideas and helping us get around Prague. Milos especially was very friendly and helped sort our route to the Prague zoo which made the whole day that much easier. Breakfast was great with a decent spread ( it did get rather busy if you were a late waker though). The room was lovely and the part of Prague we were si... Read more

The hotel is situated on a steep, cobbled street in the Lesser part of Prague so it feels very authentic! The staff were welcoming and helpful, they gave us advice on where to go/when to go. Our room was on the small side and inward facing so we had no window, but as there's so much to do in Prague we were hardly in the room. If you can stretch to a larger room however, I would do so to make the experience nicer. Breakfast wasn't that great, I expected more choice but I suppose you got everythin... Read more

A very comfortable stay (lovely bed). The hotel has been modernised and updated but has kept its vaulted ceilings and has a few antiques dotted around to add character. Staff helpful and friendly - we asked for a room change which was swiftly organised. As for the breakfast, I could have eaten it all day as there was a really wide choice from cooked meats to fresh fruit.

A really wonderful boutique hotel, really quirky and beautiful! The room we booked was classed as a "small cozy room" and I was a little concerned that it may be a bit too small and cozy, however, it was perfect, bigger than we expected with a lovely en suite, and a beautiful Juliet balcony. The bed was without a doubt the most comfortable we have ever slept in, with a choice of different pillows. What a lovely hotel in a fantastic position, the staff are friendly and helpful and ready to suggest local places to eat. The views of the city are brilliant and the castle a short walk up the hill. The hill that can seem three times as long on the way back up from the old town. The rooms are lovely but be aware if you choose the design room with the frosted glass toilet cubicle, especially if you want to keep some mystery in your relationship.
